  1. Hello, I was wonderwing if with the HX Stomp i can get 1 signal chain with effects/amp modeling/IR impulse to go to the FOH, and a second signal with just effects/amp modeling to my power amp and cab (so without IR impulse). Thanks in advance!! Greetz Wouter
  2. I just purchased a helix like a week ago and I’m starting to get the hang of it. I’ve been watching tutorials and and reading forums. My question was, does it matter where in the signal path I place the amp or cabs? Does it make a difference? Everything I’ve read or watched, people just seem to place it somewhere in the middle. Or do you have to think of it like a real pedal board, where the amp comes last? Please help.
  3. Hey All, I was watching this YT vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjEolSe71Jw At the beginning of the vid, the guy explains his signal chain and says that he's "...hooked the POD directly into the power amp section of the Blues Deluxe bypassing the whole tone stack. The Pre Amp is gone and he can't even control the volume using the amp's controls...". Can some of the more experienced folks tell me is this is the same as using an amp's F/X loop? And, if anyone has a BD, is this a typical "feature" of the amp or is it something that's most probably a post purchase mod? Thanks! Bill
  4. My POD HD500X is rebooting every time I try to change an amp model in my patches. What should I do to solve this problem? Can someone help me?
  5. Hi there, I'm fairly new to audio production, and have just purchased a Pod Studio UX2 for my mic setup and I'm looking to invest in some quality headphones. From what I understand the higher the Ohm range of the headphones the more power they require and if underpowered there volume may be bottleknecked. My UX2 is connected to a desktop, and I was wondering if connecting the headphones (I'm looking at a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro's) to the output of my UX2 would provide enough power to get good, loud sound? Thanks Billy

    Fender Clean?

I've always really liked the sound of my 8-string through a clean fender amp (usually a Fender Deluxe) with the pickups set to single coil, but I can't quite seem to recreate that sound in the Helix. It's got a certain tightness and "slap" that just doesn't come through when I try messing with the fender amps in the Helix. I even tried using my own Fender Twin cab IRs. I need something crisp and spanky but still clean, can anyone tell me what to do?
  7. Hey folks, I have a dual amp patch that I'm working on, but I can't seem to figure out how to bypass amp #1 by pushing the footswitch assigned to amp #2, and vice versa.
  8. Hello everybody. I recently noticed that I cannot save the effects that I use for my microphone after closing POD Farm 2.59 and all I get is dry sound with no changes. I am trying to find a way to make this happen or a similar solution but I havent found it yet neither on internet or in the app settings. I hope anyone could help me fixing this, would be really appreciated! Thank you all! :) My specs are: -POD Studio UX2 -Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser -Windows 10 64-Bit
  9. Hello, I recently bought a Gibson Les Paul and Line 6 V60 amp from guitar center. I'm having trouble with editing the options in the amp to match the tone of some of the songs that I want to learn and cover. Is there a place where I can learn about what each effect, settings ,etc does. I tried doing Since I've Been Loving You, Archilles Last Stand, Sweet Child of Mine, and Jimmy Hendrix songs but I have a hard time figuring out what I need to do. I know experience plays a big role but I really have no one that I can turn to for help/advice to help me get started. Did I mess up on my gear selection? I've literally spent hours researching online what a particular artist uses for a particular song and then try to find the right settings on my amp using the spider app but I always get stuck. Any suggestions would like tutorials, or at least gear recommendations would help. I can't go out and buy things right away but what are some essential things that I can add in the future that will help with my guitar experience? Thanks!
  10. I was thinking of using the ext amp on the Helix LT as a footswitch to control the Boss RC3. I don't have the RC3 yet but would like to know if it is possible.
  11. Dear Line 6, Is the FireHawk 1500 support or enhancements dead?????? You have such an awesome underdeveloped product here. The majority of the needs are in software and editability settings and with the FVB 3. I love the amp but it is a 63.14 lb. Living Room Brick. Because of the lack of editing for live performances. Please step up and enhancement the product. You have very skilled people on your team that are real players. They know what is needed. Guys isn't all about the Helix, Helix LT, Helix Stomp, Helix Effect. You won't get us to buy any of these or future products when you ignore our other stuff. PS I've had your stuff from the very beginning. You are bring in all these new product and your attention to the other products had slipped. There hasn't been an update or enhancement even on your Varaix other than the Suriken. Absolutely nothing for a very long time. People spend the money on your type of products because there is an expectation of enhancement. Both by design within software and electronic. FH1500, JTV-69, FVB3, X3Live, POD, POD farm
  12. I've been trying for about 2 days to no success. I followed all the steps on the Cubase Help site that and set the driver to the spider and the inputs to the spider as well but when I press record nothing happens. Can someone please help set me up? I have no idea how to record my amp on Cubase Le
  13. Question: HOw do you guys play all this amp, preamp, cabinet presets with a real amp? Can't figure it out. Do you run with a mixer or? Example: I practise and play on stage with a Blackstar ID260. Got everything turned down to the NO effect channel. Connect my Helix with the input of the amp. Now, all preset models in the Helix with an amp, or preamp sound horrible. Only thing to do is get rid of this stuff. I don't want to use the 4cm because of plug and play gigs. How do I get this really heavy sound?
  14. I'm trying to get more signal to my Mic path output. Preamps alone don't have enough umph. So what amp will give me natural flat boost without distortion?
  15. Any hope of convincing the developers to add a Fryette Deliverance 60/120 amp sim with the more and less gain channels, Deliverance 2/4x12 with Fane speakers? Seems to me like it could be a good addition without doubling up what's already there. I'd be in favor of the Sig:X too! Also, seems like an HM-2 Boss Heavy Metal pedal sim would be fun too! Thoughts? Or bubble bursts?
  16. I'm having a tough time getting my TC-50 head to respond to my Helix LT for amp control via MIDI. This is my first time attempting to use MIDI. I'm connected to the amp via 4cm, with the MIDI connected from the out on the helix to the in on the amp. I'm running the helix in snapshot mode. What I'm specifically trying to achieve is channel changes on the amp, along with standard effect/parameter changes in helix. Example: Footswitch 1: CLEAN on TC-50 with Helix reverb + delay Footswitch 2: LO on TC-50 with Helix overdrive + reverb Amps midi CC numbers/values for channels: CLEAN = CC 20 w/ value 64 - 127 LO = CC 21 w/ value 64 - 127 HI = CC 22 w/ value 64 - 127 Things to note. The amp also responds to midi program changes - I've noticed that if I scroll through the presets menu that my amp changes channels with varying features coming on and off. So for some reason helix is sending program changes when loading a preset. If I could isolate that function to snapshots I would also be happy, as I could use the amp's solo/reverb/fx loop options as well instead of just singular purpose CC messages. Any help much appreciated.
  17. Hello! I recently bought a Line 6 Helix, and am absolutely in love with it. There is way more that I want to do with it, including getting myself more pedals to go with it outside of it's preset tones and effects. I also have a Spider Valve MKII That I've used in the past (and love it almost as much as the Helix) and was wondering If it would be okay to use the effects return part of the amp to use as a practice speaker since I do not have the finances to go and just buy a speaker at the moment. I know that it isn't ideal since the Helix works best with an FRFR Speaker cab. It's got the Celestion Vintage 30s in it. Anyone think that it would color the sound too much from what it would sound like in a FOH situation? I play for a church and my tones are pretty much perfect for what I want there. I haven't tried this yet since I'm typing this up on my lunch break at work. Anyways thanks all who reply to this!
  18. Hello, I've just bought an egnater tweaker 40 and I'd like to use it for cleans and an amp model from inside the pod for a high gain metal sound. Can and should I do this? If so, how?
  19. Hi, Wading through all of the many amp models on Spider V, and wondering what amp model you would say is closest to the PHD Motorway on the HD Platform (emulates a Dr. Z RT66) Thank!
  20. Hi guys and gals! I have a Pod hd500x and I'm looking to lighten up my live gear. Before I was using an engl powerball and engl 4x12 and had the pod as effects, but the music that we play requires me to switch a bunch and with channel selecting on the amp and effect switching on the pod it got really crazy sometimes. So now I'm using the pod as pretty much my main tone (amp sim, cab sim, effects, etc.). I've since gotten rid of the engl as it was redundant to have the head, and the cab is a pain to lug around. So my question is does anyone have some recommendations for cabinets? If possible I wanna have a 2x12 with some power. Thanks!
  21. Hey, I just bought an epiphone les paul jr, and spider classic 15 amp. 'm looking just to do some covers for fun, but can't seem to get the Blink 182 sound, looking to do a dammit cover. Anyone who knows if getting this sound is possible on this amp? So many presets. Thanks so much!
  22. I play my pod directly into my amp, using only a few effects and completely bypassing the Pod's amp model. My signal flow can be seen in the attached image. As you can see, the signal splits into stereo between the null amp block and mixer. If I'm playing directly into my amp stack, should I only use one of the 2 signal paths by centering it and muting the other one in the main mix window? Or should I keep them hard panned like in the picture? Will there be a difference in sound coming out of my cab? Thanks Edit: I dont think the image uploaded properly. The signal is mono throughout my pre effects chain, then splits into two separate paths between the null amp block and mixer, then returns to mono out of the mixer into the null FX blocks.
  23. Hello, I have been using Helix for 7-8 months and have listened to myself primarily through headphones. I have also been recording stuff using Helix. Now I want to start using it in studios and gigs and I am unsure whether to plug in Helix directly into speakers or to go into the guitar amp input? I also don't know how does this affect the presets I've been using. My presets all use a combo amp + cab block, which I guess I should change if I actually use a real amp? Thanks in advance :)
  24. Any advice on the best live setup using my current gear? I'm not looking to use any crazy patches or amp sims, just a pretty basic live guitar setup. Current Gear: Pod HD500X Boss Digital Delay Pedal Boss Flange Pedal Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (genre: progressive metal) Since I don't own an Overdrive or Noise gate pedal (two essentials), is there any issue with me using the Pod in front of my amp using a patch with only an OD and Gate? Any I can then put my delay and flange in my Mesa effects loop. Ideally I'd want to start collecting pedals and stop using the Pod for live gigs, but for now this is what I've got. What I've been doing is using the pod in front of my amp like stated, but also having time based effects on there to use as needed. However I know these effects should really be in the FX loop, which is why I'm thinking of this new setup using my old Boss pedals. I've never tried the 4 cable method, but I feel that's too complicated for what I want to get out of the Pod. Thanks!
  25. I want to ask if someone can verify that the following happens on their Helix as it does on mine before I file a bug report. I searched for this before creating this topic, if it's a dupe I'm excusing myself beforehand. I use Firmware 2.21 . I recommend using a DAW or method B to make sure there's no additional noises coming from pickups, cables etc. Symptom: Both the SV Beast Nrm and Brt models exhibit a clicking noise after sound was processed if the "Sag" parameter is set to a value of 0.6 or greater. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a patch with just an SV Beast Amp in it. Set the "Sag" to a value equal or greater than 0.6, the other controls don't seem to have an influence. Set the input block to something quiet, e.g. USB. Method A: 2. Connect the Helix to a DAW and use a routing with sound only going in and out via USB (Reamping). 3. Monitor the Helix' main output (Channels 1&2), e.g. by arming a track for recording. 4. Play anything for any amount of time, then stop playback. Method B: 2. Set the "Hum" value to anything that produces an audible sound, then move it rapidly to 0. For both methods, there should be a crackling noise following that sounds like static discharge going through a lowpass filter. For "Sag" settings of 0.5 or less, I could not reproduce the symptom. If someone can confirm this, I will file a bug report, otherwise I'll scratch my head. With a confused face.
