AMPLIFi 75/150/TT/FX100 streams music, but app will not connect
Line6Tony posted a article in AMPLIFi Series
We have seen a variety of behaviors where the app is indicating a good connection to the hardware, but it is not actually communicating with the hardware. Music will still stream from the device, but the app will not connect to the hardware. This can happen following a firmware update over Bluetooth or during any app connection. In order to avoid or resolve this, we suggest the following: Android For AMPLIFi 75/150/TT, first try a factory reset on the AMPLIFi on to clear out any of it's stored Bluetooth settings. To perform a factory reset, press and hold the master volume knob and the 'tone' button as you power on the unit. turn the amp off and press and hold both the 'Tone' and Master Volume down as you power on the amp. Keep holding them both down until you see the LED's around the Master Volume light up. For AMPLIFi FX100, turn the pedal off and press and hold both the 'Tap' and Master Volume down as you power on the pedal. Keep holding them both down until you see the display light up with '01'. Next, on your mobile device, make sure that the AMPLIFi Remote app is fully closed and not running in the background. Within your mobile device Bluetooth settings you will need to delete any entries for AMPLIFi if possible. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the AMPLIFi for 2 seconds until it begins to flash. It should then shortly appear within your mobile device Bluetooth settings, tap on it to re-pair. Try again to launch AMPLIFi Remote app, tap the menu button located in the upper left of the app and look to see if it shows that your AMPLIFi is 'connected' or not. iOS For AMPLIFi 75/150/TT, first try a factory reset on the AMPLIFi on to clear out any of its stored Bluetooth settings. Turn the amp off and press and hold both the 'Tone' and Master Volume down as you power on the amp. Keep holding them both down until you see the LEDs around the Master Volume light up. For AMPLIFi FX100, turn the pedal off and press and hold both the 'Tap' and Master Volume down as you power on the pedal. Keep holding them both down until you see the display light up with '01'. Next, on your iOS device, make sure that the AMPLIFi Remote app is fully closed by double tapping on the home button and swiping up across the AMPLIFi Remote app. Than within your iOS device Bluetooth settings you will need to 'forget' any entries for AMPLIFi, by tapping the 'i' to the right of any AMPLIFi entry and than tapping 'Forget this device'. Than press and hold the Bluetooth button on the AMPLIFi for 2 seconds until it begins to flash. It should than shortly appear within your iOS device Bluetooth settings, tap on it to re-pair. Than try again to launch AMPLIFi Remote app, tap the menu button located in the upper left of the app and look to see if it shows that your AMPLIFi is 'connected' or not. If your AMPLIFi is detected by the AMPLIFi Remote app, the next thing to do is to apply the available firmware update using the instructions found at the link below: http://line6.com/sup...ifirmwareupdate -
Just picked up an Amplifi FX100 and trying to run the remote app (the whole reason I bought it) on my iPad 2, which is running the maximum iOS of 9.3.5, but the installer tells me it needs iOS 10?? It's just a simple interface, right? So how come it won't run on a slightly older OS from like only 2 years ago?? Am I missing something? I'll be kind of peeved if I've bought this Amplifi FX100 to use with my iPad only to find it can't run the remote software....?? Would an older version of the software work??

Hi all, Just a quick one. In the Spider 5 app, when searching the cloud for tones, all I ever get is exactly 30 results, whatever I search for. It's the same on every demo I've seen of it. Is there a way to search for more, or have Line 6 capped the search number for some reason? Seems a bit daft if so! Cheers

Apple has introduced a new warning message with iOS 10.1. The message reads: “[App Name] may slow down your iPhone/iPadâ€, followed by “The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility.†Despite this message, our testing did not reveal any issues with the StageScape app on iOS 10. In any event, Stagescape Remote 1.21 resolves this issue. With this update, Stagescape Remote will work with iOS 11 (and above) and the warning that the app needs to be updated will no longer appear.

So, I was thinking this morning, I am super happy that there is an editor for the Helix for Mac/PC but it lacks a little bit in the ways of portability. An iPad/Android version would really take the cake. We need more portability and a touch interface. Here's the idea if you wanna up vote it: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Helix-editor-for-iPad/826675-23508

Is anyone else experiencing serious performance issues with the Amplifi app? It used to work perfectly, but I started my Amplifi TT up for the first time in a few weeks, and now I cannot get the app working at all. Most of the time, mine crashes while syncing after opening. Sometimes, it completes the sync, connects, then crashes. I have everything updated, reinstalled the app, applied firmware updates, restarted everything, and I'm experiencing the same issues on my iPhone 6s and 4 week old iPad Air 2. Line 6 support have advised that my Amplifi TT could be the fault, but why would an external device connected by bluetooth cause an app to crash completely? Surely crashes indicate a stability issue with the app. Line 6 have also suggested I reinstall the latest iOS update. Before I go through the upheaval of performing a restore on my iPhone, has anyone tried this and fixed the issue? I'm sceptical it would work. I am loath to contact Apple, as they don't provide support for third-party apps; a full restore is probably just what they suggest in the absence of being able to advise on another company's software. All reviews on the app store are from people experiencing this issue, but Line 6 advise that there is currently no scheduled app update.

So, anyone who has been following the development of Windows 10 (which is mere weeks away from release) would know that Microsoft has developed special tools for an effortless way for developers to "port" Android/iOS apps to Windows 10 devices. I know there were no plans earlier to release Amplifi Remote for Windows, either for mobile or desktop. But now, with Windows 10 making it so easy to just use the existing code (from the above link - "Candy Crush Saga as it exists today on Windows Phone has been converted from iOS code using Microsoft’s tools without many modifications."), should the Windows Phone and PC users among us have some hope for a release? Hey, you guys did it for Apple Watch. :) Unless I've understood wrong, since apps are almost "universal" in Win10, a mobile app AND a PC software can be made by basically re-using your existing code. I'm just trying to repeatedly point out that this will take little effort, and will have HUGE advantages, both for your users and your company. ;)

I recently purchased the Firehawk and am unable to get various computers to accept the required update to use the app. Unless I' missing it in the downloads It appears that none of the updates are for the Firehawk. Can anyone offer some assistance. I called customer support and they had no idea how to help mel This is what appears on my android device and IPad.

Hi, I still have a device with iOS7 installed. Using some little (but official) workaround in iTunes, I managed to download and install the Amplifi Remote App v.2.10. Since I believe that the current firmware 2.50 for Amplifi TT runs only with app versions 2.13 and later, I have the following question: Do NEW Amplifi TTs already come with firmware 2.50 pre-installed? (I just bought one, but it's still in the box.) I just want to know if I could run into any trouble. If they DO come with 2.50 pre-installed, would there be a way to install an earlier firmware version? If they do NOT come with 2.50 pre-installed, which firmware version is the LATEST one that works with app v.2.10? Best, Thomas

Hey Guys i recently got a new phone, the samsung galaxy s6. I've installed the amplifi app onto this new phone, and tried to set it up to my amplifi 75, but the phone can't seem to detect the amplifier? I've updated my amp to the latest firmware, and the app is on the same update too. My previous phone (the galaxy s3) works fine the the amp, but I seem to be having issues with this new phone. Any advice?

I bought my mate's FX100 last week and have been very happy with it so far. I've created some tones and shared them to the Amplifi Remote cloud from the app. After I searched some genres in the tone search, I noticed some patches have half a white-colored star next to them, however I haven't been able to work out how to rate the patches myself. Some of the patches with these half stars are terrible and I'd like to reduce their rating if possible, to help other people avoid them (would also like to promote a couple which I've been really impressed with). How do you rate other people's patches? Or if can't, how do these star ratings (well, all I've seen so far is half-stars...) work?

We've found that tones created while using the original 1.01 firmware can sometimes be corrupted, regardless if they are new or downloaded tones. This results in the device locking up, with a factory reset being needed for recovery (press and hold the Master Volume knob and the TAP button as you power up the unit). Firmwares at version 1.10 or later resolves this issue. Tones created in version 1.10 or later can no longer be corrupted like they would have under version 1.01. However, corrupted tones created in version 1.01 are still problematic when used in Firehawks updated to later firmware versions. We encourage those encountering this issue to update to the latest firmware via the Line 6 Updater software, then perform a factory reset. Please note that any tones not backed up to My Tones prior to a reset will be lost (corrupted tones cannot be uploaded because they crash the unit and thus can't be selected for uploading).

So the only way to use the FX is with a phone or tablet? There's no way to use windows? So if somebody doesn't have a smartphone or tablet this thing is useless? I do have an android but I would hate to have to use that rather than my computer right next to my other equipment. Thanks for any help.

I have an Amplify FX100. I am using iOS 8.2 on my iPhone. Whenever I open the Amplifi application, it quits before I have a chance to login. I have also tried to bypass logging in but it still immediately quits after that. I have rebooted my phone and deleted the app and redownloaded it. It still crashes/quits. Any advise appreciated.

I read in an article about the Amplifi 75 that it is possible to change the music which is played with the app. How can I do this? I want to make the music slower to play with it, in the case I'm not able to play the guitar in the right speed ;)

it would be great to be able to save individual settings for the devices in the amplifi app. so, for example, you can save your favourite settings for a tube screamer. so when you load the tube screamer and select it to see the slider menu, at the bottom of the page theres a bunch of presets you can save your self. dent need to many - maybe four or five. could be really useful. it seems to me right now if I've perfected a great reverb i love, there is no way to copy that into another tone preset - the only way i can see is to write down all the slider values and then apply it manually to the new tone your working on.

I've had the Amplifi 150 for a couple of days now I've had no problems with bluetooth playback, creating/saving/trasfering tones and upgrading the firmware to 1.00.5 One thing I did noticed is that the App (on iPhone 5S or iPad 4 with iOS 7.1.2) does not update or refresh when I turn the amp knobs. Is this only happening to me? F.

I came across GP mag's review of the Amplifi (April issue) and saw their photo of the app's UI. Hopefully you can see it; glossy pages don't photograph well! What I noticed was that it shows eq and compression at the end of the chain. That's funny because on mine I can't move those two from where they are. I just thought that's the way it is. Is it just me? Can anyone else move these? I'd love to eq and compress at the end!

So I've got a POD HD500 and I'm pretty dense about using it. Haven't really put the time into it I should, to reap the potential. I digress. In addition to my relative ineptness using gear, I've got a terrible ear. But I'd really like to set up a few patches that ape/steal the tone of a few, certain, probably obscure, players out there (including a bass tone). I was able to find information on their gear/rigs online, but translating them to what's available in the POD is where I get lost. That said, my question is could you use the AMPLIFi app to pre-build the tone, then recreate it in the POD software/on the unit itself? Kinda take my guesswork out of it? I know the AMPLIFi probably has considerably more amp options than the POD, but is this feasible? This is working under the assumption that you could use the free app for research without having to pair it to the amp itself. Thanks! I appreciate you lending me some of your know-how! --gsorkin

Hi All , I have a HD500 and i want to know if anyone had built a MIDI controller template for switching Banks, programs and more control of all patches ? There are many MIDI designers and controller apps for iPhone and iPad and i think it would be convenient to have MIDI controlling the presets on the HD and M fx. There are apps like TouchOSC , Lemur , Control , Midi Designer etc that can be used to build custom MIDI interfaces. I did a quick test with Midi Designer Pro and was able to send a Bank Change and Program Change and have the HD500 swtich to the right preset. Designing a flexible MIDI controlling template would be a big effort and is there a ready template for some app already built ? Also , does the HD500 let one vary the values with MIDI also ? Can the 4 knobs be mapped to sliders in the MIDI controller interface so that it would be very easy to change presets but even parameters on the fly right from the guitar ! Any ideas / inputs welcome ! thanks pat
