  1. Hi, I'm trying to figure out if the HD500X can take the place of a desktop USB interface I use with Amplitube. Now, I go back and forth between using the HD500X and my other interface, because I can't figure out how to mute the tones produced by the POD itself. When I use my other interface, I have a knob where I can blend the original direct input signal into my monitoring headphones. I can turn the knob all the way so I only hear the signal after it's processed with amplitube, or there are some software settings that completely disable direct monitoring. Can I set up something similar on the HD500X? The minimum I need would be a way to totally mute the POD tones and hear amplitube only. It would be nice if I could figure out a way to blend amplitube and POD with a knob, but I could get by without that.
  2. Hi by using protools with another software mutools in the same computer i can use all rtas vst tdm plugins in realtime with a very few latency of 64 samples. just see the video demo here where i use protools with mutools https://www.ayewind.com/use-native-plugin-without-in-realtime-without-latency and another video demo where i use amp farm 2 rtas on bass and guitar with protools and cubase. thanks for your reply i will be happy to share with you how to make it wotk in your configuration. best regards weesch
  3. Hi everyone, I am having some problems with the Asio driver for Helix floor but not with otheraudio interface. I have set the buffer to 256 samples and getting a few pops on every 30 seconds or thereabout. The thing is, I also have a Beringer XR-18 digital mixer and when using just that with a multitude of sound application, all at the same time, and loads of vst plugins too, I can use the buffer size of 64 samples with hardly any problems at all. The helix driver seems not to be very efficient and to avoid glitches I need to set it to 512 samples, which is horrible for latency. I really would like to use 256 samples as a very minimum 128 samples would be ideal. The application I use Helix driver in is Gig performer 4, running Midi Guitar 2 inside it. Helix can provide the clean Re-Amp path from USB 7,8. Any advice is appreciated. Is there any other muli-client Asio driver for Helix? Not Asio4all though.
  4. I just got my Pod Go a few days ago. It was a Friday, so I had over the weekend to play it before I had to go back to work. (Got a new Marshall DSL100HR too though, so the Pod Go had to share the stage. It got more than enough play though considering I can't play the marshall through haedphones without connecting up a bunch of other gear I don't feel like messing with when I now have Pod Go right here) Anyway.... I do quite a bit of recording with Reaper, and part of the reason the Pod Go appealed to me was the fact that it can be used as an audio interface. Infact, that was one of the main reasons. I wanted something to help me simplify my workflow when tracking, but that would not be a compromise on tone. Seeing as how Pod Go uses the same HX series effects processor as Helix and HX family of products.... Enter Pod Go.... Now, I like this thing alot. However, I have yet to be able to use it for what I bought it to use it for, which is recording. It needs ASOI drivers in order to be used an an A.I. correct? I've got it plugged up tp my PC, and my studio monitors, and I get sound, and the unit sounds good through the monitors, but can I just use it as is in Reaper? Or do I need the ASIO drivers? The info on the Line 6 site says I need the ASIO driver, but the only downloads I can find anywhere for Pod Go on the Line 6 website are the firmware updates, and updates for Pod Go Edit. Both of which are up to date at 1.30. Is it possible that I missed something, and the ASIO drivers are part of that download? Or is it something else all together? And if it is something different, where do I find it. I have to say, the way it was explained to me, this thing was supposed to be a great tool for me to use for recording, but as of right now, I have to say that the difficulty I am experiencing in trying to find out something/find something which should be right there out front and easy for anyone to find, it is making me a little worried that maybe I jumped the gun spending this money, and perhaps I should have just stuck with playing my tube amps through my Captor 16 and CAB M+..... If anyone else knows where I can find this, I would greatly appreciate it if you could fill me in as I'd love to become privy to such knowledge. If there is maybe a link that someone could share to the web page where the download is located, that would be even better! Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone out there may be able to offer.
  5. Guys, there is a serious problem giving me troubles. I own a Spider V20 Amp that runs perfectly. I can connect the amp to my Win10 PC and I can use Spider V remote e.g. This works smooth. I managed to use the amp for recording via Cubase 11 LE AI. As I started the software Cubase asked me, if I'd like to use Spider V ASIO as audio in device. The problemstarted 3 weeks ago up as I opened Cubase 11 LE AI. The software does neigher show an audio connection to the amp nor does it use the Spider V ASIO. The only audio in I can choose is the Mic of the laptop. There is no Spider V ASIO in the dropdown menu in studio settings. I only can choose the generic ASIO which is connected to the Mic as Audio In. I installed the Spider V Drivers several times. No effect. Starting up cubase, then disconnecting the amp and reconnecting it doesn't show any effect. I think the main problem is, the the Spider ASIO isn't recognized or loaded by cubase somehow. Is there a way to check, if the Spider ASIO Driver is installed properly? Or are there any other suggestions how to solve this problem?
  6. Hi, I have problems with noise and scratches. I have a DAW; Mixcraft PRO 8 and are using an old Line 6 GX. Windows 10 and WaveRT. The supplier of the DAW told me to down load Line 6 ASIO driver for GX. I cannot find it on the download section. I have the latest version installed ( 4.2.7.7 ). Can I get an ASIO driver for my GX? BR Stefan
  7. Hello beautiful people of the internet, I am having an issue that seems to be related to the ASIO Driver for POD go. When trying to sync with reaper, the driver doesn't register any inputs and reaper displays a message of "error initialising asio driver". Has anyone experienced the same issue and had a solution? Thanks
  8. Trying to set up my HX to work as an interface. I'm using Reaper on Windows 8. I keep getting this error code showing up. Have tried redownloading the driver and using ASIO4All, but nothing seems to fix it. The error says "error loading ASIO driver" Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do to fix it?
  9. Hello, im new to the hx stomp and recording guitar in digital world. My signal chain from guitar to my headphones/speakers is Guitar -> hx stomp L/mono output -> line 6 GX interface -> pc -> Mixer app in pc (Voicemeeter) -> headphones and speakers. (hx stomp output is set to "LINE") It sounds very similar when i plug it into a PA system and listening through headphones output. Now I am trying to use the USB asio output, but it sounds harsh and thin. Then i try to use the L/mono output but this time setting the output to "INST", it sounds the same to what i hear via usb. Is it possible to make usb output sounds like "LINE" output on L/mono? Or am i wrong in setting up asio? I appreciate to you if u spend your time to read this. *i use voicemeeter because GX interface has only one output port and i want to output signal to many channels inside pc.
  10. So I've been testing recording a project with the Helix asio driver in Cubase elements with Helix connected via usb. When I shut off the helix when I was done, I couldn't hear what I had recorded anymore, Cubase said the audio hardware had been uninstalled and it gave me a choice of using a different asio driver (steinberg, which I normally use). I had Installed the Helix editor, which I understood to have installed the asio driver to my pc. Is this correct behavior? Does the helix need to be turned on and plugged in to the pc to be able to use the helix asio driver? Thanks for any replies...
  11. My DAWs (Reaper and Cakewalk) wont recognize HX stomp as an interface after big windows update about 3 days ago. I've already updated to v2.81 when it came out. I am doing recording next week and in need of a quick fix! I have to use the digital USB ins and outs in order to record DI signals as my interface only has 1 input.
  12. Hi. I'm getting up-to-speed on integrating my new Helix Floor into my Cubase 10 recording rig. Here is the experience I'm having with the Helix connected to my computer via USB: In Cubase I open a project which was created before I even owned the Helix. IOW, this saved project could have no idea about Helix or the Helix ASIO driver. However, what I find is that the Helix ASIO driver is now the Cubase ASIO driver, putting me in a position where I do not recognize the names of the audio inputs and outputs as previously in use. Now, strangely (probably by design!), things do seem to "work" - I can record my guitar into Cubase and can play back my prior recorded tracks and hear them. The thing is, I have no idea what is really going on - why I'm even able to hear things, how the guitar is getting in and the pre-recorded audio is getting out. IOW, I suppose I just don't understand sufficiently how ASIO/audio works in Cubase, and especially how things change when the Helix is connected. My past history is using the Cubase with my MOTU 2408 mkII interface (which I do understand well), and also (more recently) using Cubase with my Motif XS keyboard and the Firewire ASIO interface (which causes the Motif to "take the place" of the MOTU 2408 mkII). Is there someone who has this all straight in their head who can write come words of enlightenment here that will help me to fully grasp the situation? Or, can someone point me to Helix ASIO driver docs which would explain it? If so, many thanks!
  13. This is my elaboration on Round Trip Latency of Helix hardware used as audio interface based on research on closed fb group https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156514192780269&set=pcb.1077888115728194&type=3&theater&ifg=1 This topic is hardly relevant if you are monitoring direct. Helix hardware latency is 1,8ms from AD/DSP/DA (measured for one DSP Path), no matter what buffer or sampling frequency you pick. If you use another interface for monitoring/recording it is not relevant neither. It is 2,70 firmware time. OSX - you have a choice of two drivers: 1. Multi sampling rate Core Audio driver. You get the lowest latency of 15ms using 32 samples buffer but this seems not to be stable (tested on 8th gen i7) . Safer buffers of 64, 128 samples are at 20ms range. 2. Class Compliant 48kHz driver at 64 samples buffer gives 8ms RTL. EDIT: I do not know if 8ms RTL is REPORTED by the driver or it can be REAL RTL. Windows - you have a choice of two drivers: 1. Supplied ASIO driver. Here are my figures for Round Trip Latencies: 21ms on "Small" 128 samples buffer@48kHz 17ms on "Extra Small" 64 samples buffer@48kHz 15ms on "Small" 128 samples buffer@96kHz 10ms on "Extra Small" 64 samples buffer@96kHz - but this setting is unusable because of artifacts. Bad news for virtual instruments players are 3/4 of RTL is on the output side. 2. ASIO4ALL driver - it is rather overlay for WDM driver, not compatible with Pro Tools. Round Trip Latencies are: 5ms at 128 samples buffer@48kHz 3ms at 64 samples buffer@48kHz 3ms at 128 samples buffer@96kHz Good news or virtual instruments players are buffers are 50/50 input/output. EDIT: I have proven that they are in fact REPORTED RTLs. They are fake numbers! I made my Windows tests using using Reaper (64bit), desktop Windows 10 PC with 3th gen i5 CPU, 16GB RAM. Reaper session was loaded with 5 Hx Native instances. CPU usage was monitored with Windows Task Manager and for the same 128 buffers on both drivers was at 30%. 7ms pictured vs mine 5ms is because I switched off additional 32 samples buffers used for latency compensation in ASIO4ALL (for aggregating devices?) Some pictures to back it up:
  14. Hey, I have a problem with my line 6 POD HD PRO X. I work in Reaper, when I use Line 6 it pops up to me Blue Screen (BSOD) it is terribly annoying and makes it very difficult to work. I tested this problem on: Focusrite 18i20, focusrite Solo, M - Audio ProFire 2626 and there was no problem. The problem only appears on Line 6, I do not know what is causing ... I also exchanged RAM memory but it is still the same Please, help me : c
  15. Hi all, I've connected the Helix (v2.5) via USB to my computer (Windows10), hoping to hear the sounds from Cubase 9.5 through my FRFR which is connected to my Helix via the XLR Output. When I play the guitar, the sound can be heard through the FRFR but when I play the music from Cubase, I hear weird sounds (kind of slowed down version of the music with saturation). My settings in Cubase: Studio Setup... --> ASIO Helix Audio connections... --> Outputs=Stereo Out (Output1 for Left and Output2 for Right) Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks. regards. Ju.
  16. For the past year or two I have been unable to set up my Line 6 POD XT Pro to record properly into Reaper. I had to have a friend round to have a poke around for me with hopes that he may be able to fix it so this is said friend typing on my behalf! Presently, I am able to record but playback is very crackly. My setup is a little unconventional. I have an audio out port from my PC going to one of the Aux in's on my stereo system, to which my standard hi-fi speakers are connected. The POD XT Pro is connected to the PC via the usual firewire cable. However, I have to have a cable running from the Phones jack to the other Aux in port on my stereo system, so I have to toggle between the two Aux inputs depending on whether I want to hear sound from my PC (including audio playback from Reaper) or sound from my Line 6. Bit of a nuisance as it means I can't really jam along to YouTube videos or mp3s or whatever. I know this setup is weird but it's all I have. To attempt to solve the crackling problem I went to Preferences in Reaper and saw that the current Audio system setting in Audio > Device is "WASAPI (Windows 7/8/Vista)" My friend said that the norm is to have whatever ASIO device is available, so we tried this, and there are 2 sub-options of ASIO Driver, these being ASIO PODxt Pro or ASIO4ALL v2. Using ASIO PODxt Pro resulted in horrible noise when both recording and playback (earlier on trying it there was no sound at all). Using ASIO4ALL v2 resulted in smooth playback of existing recorded sounds but would not record anything. I presume the fact it says 'Not Connected' in the inputs section has something to do with it but there are no other options for some reason and the ASIO Configuration dialogue didn't give us any answers. I have made sure that the Aux input channel is on the right one every time with respect to whether I'm recording or playing back, so I presume the noise or recording issues are nothing to do with that but may make things more complicated. So can anyone advise how to eliminate the playback crackling when using WASAPI / ASIO PODxt Pro and/or how to get recording to work when using ASIO4ALL? System basic specs: Windows 7 Processor: Intel® Core i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz 3.07 GHz Installed memory (RAM): 3.00GB System type: 64-bit OS Unfortunately I'm not especially computer literate so if anyone can help but explain things in layman's terms as much as possible that'd be great!
  17. Hello. Sound card Line 6 UX1 - I can not open more than one program (guitar rig, amplitube 4, ravelver, etc.). I run these programs, select the ASIO sound source and everything - the program crashes. Pod Farm 2 works. The sound and computer itself is authorized through the license manager, the driver reinstalled, the Windows too. Here are the pictures of errors: BIAS: AMPLITUBE:
  18. Hi! The M20d ASIO driver is not designed as an audio interface driver for full multi-track DAW purposes. Why? Is it possible to wait for a new driver or better to sell this mixer? ((( Thank you.
  19. I'm trying to understand the difference between the ASIO Settings section and the ToneDirect & USB Audio Streaming section a bit better. I've found that the ASIO settings don't seem to impact my latency for direct monitoring with PodFarm or say using Reaper to listen to Superior Drummer being played by an electronic drum kit through MIDI. So it seems the ToneDirect & USB Audio Streaming is solely responsible for that. What is the ASIO settings for then? Just playback? Does anyone have information about what the buffer sizes (or corresponding latency numbers) for each of the ToneDirect & USB Audio Streaming categories such as "Extra Small" or "Medium" are? My TonePorts inputs have recently gone bad. I'm contemplating having a repair shop work on it, but I'm torn between paying for repairs on and older device or moving to a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 or similar due to their proclaimed low latency. Any thoughts would be helpful.
  20. Hello all, I've recently been using focusrites plugins for recording in programs, however, its not standalone application and I cannot use it in "realtime" to do other things. I've always used voicemeter banana while livestreaming. My biggest breakthrough was discovering podfarm to output directly to OBS and use gate and compressor with voicemeter banana My issues are that I was getting no output, not even an ASIO to adobe audition except my focusrite asio. Podfarm (which is currently only trial as I need to test it before I buy it) I select and can modify the program as I would similar to focus-rites plugins yet I cannot output it anywhere. I'd assume I'd be able to select it as an audio device in windows or even a recording device in my daw. Is this because its a trial? or am I doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. please and thank you Kyle
  21. I am really liking my Spider V but have started making videos and recordings for practice and come across a problem. Maybe I have overlooked something or it's a shortcoming of the amp and a feature that Line6 might potentially be able to add in a firmware update. I use Rocksmith for fun and Yousician in my practice regime. I have started recording myself to see how well I actually perform from a spectators point of view and potentially share with friends on youtube. The ASIO functionality works pretty well, I can use the Spider V as an interface with my PC. Backing track volume can be adjusted with Master Volume and I can mix in my guitar with the Equalizer volume. The problem is when I try and record the USB output. I only get the guitar sound, no backing track. All the interfaces I have used have either a mixer knob of a 50/50 mix button that mixes the guitar with the backing audio passing through the interface. The only solution I have come up with is to use the headphone jack to output the full sound to my computer or interface but that makes the Amp speaker redundant. I use a splitter to split the headphones to a Marshall Woburn which I use as a CAB instead. Am I missing something? Is there a way to mix the computer audio with the guitar and record on the computer via USB like an interface? I thought I'd ask here before I try posting on the Line6 ideas board. It's a small thing that could potentially be added as a menu toggle in a firmware update. Send all audio through USB for recording. Would be nice to get rid of clutter and just have a power cable and USB cable to PC with Wireless G10 and no other stuff. EDIT: I submitted the idea to Line 6 which can be voted on at: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Spider-V-USB-Audio-OUT-option-to-mix-Computer-and-Guitar-output/864553-23508
  22. Blue screen of death when using the HD500 and the laptop with Windows10. Mainly when using Reaper but at times also when using iTunes. Procedures: 1) switch the laptop on 2) open HD Edit 3) open Reaper 4) start to use Reaper and between 30 seconds and 10 minutes (random) it crash the operating system with a BSOD. The code is mostly different... some times is to do with BAD_POOL, but mainly it's some problem with a L6HD564.SYS (or similar, sorry I'm not near my laptop. What have I tried to do to resolve this? 1) disabled all other sound devices and cameras too. 2 used the Flight mode ON mode. 3) power management is set for high performance 4) updated ALL drivers in Device manager 5) updated the bios 6) removed the HD500 driver and downloaded and installed the current driver from Line 6 7) checked the memory and Disc drive, used defragmenter and CCcleaner for cleaning the registry. The crash has been at random sometimes everything works fine even if I use the Asio4all and with multiple sound cards. Switch everything off, the next morning try again and everything crashes. What is the problem? My laptop is 1 year old i7 with 8gb of memory And 2tb HDD. I submitted a Ticket also but any help is appreciated.
  23. I use my amplifi tt as an asio driver in cubase LE 8. Normally you can change the buffer size or the latency in the device setup. Probably Amplifi TT doesn't support this function. For the moment I get annoyed from the crackling noises <_< Anyone who can confirm this issue or has a solution...
  24. I am a new owner of a used POD HD500 and I am really enjoying it for synthesizer keyboard sounds. I have a problem that I could not find an answer to in the forums. I have been having problems using two different USB sound devices. Neither of these is running off of a hub as recommended by Line 6. I am using a POD HD500 on Windows 7 32-bit and the problem began just after installing the full suite of 4.2.7.6 drivers via Line 6 Monkey. Maybe that isn't the problem, because it is intermittent and I suspect Windows is part of the problem. Before the upgrade I was able to use both a Lexicon Alpha sound card with its own ASIO driver for playback as well as the HD POD ASIO drivers for playback of a more expressive suite of sounds. I used a hardware switch to isolate all of the sound connections except the USB feed to each of the units. The problem is playback on other applications suddenly have no sound at all after the HD POD500 is used. Even if the HD POD500 is turned off, trying to open a Windows application like Audacity result in a message like "The device is being used by another application - Please close the application". This message still appears even if the HD POD is turned off and disconnected from the computer. So either the connection is really on (doubtful since the HD POD device no longer shows in Windows control panel, or Windows is just having a snit because it doesn't know the connection has been turned off. The only way surefire way I have found to make this problem go away is to reboot the computer, which is a royal PITA. The message appears to be a Windows memory conflict problem so I have been selectively disabling startup services each time I reboot. The last startup service that was disabled was Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. Whatever that is. So far the problem hasn't reared its ugly head. So maybe that was it. I would be interested in knowing if others are having this problem and how it was solved.
  25. Hi guys. So I'm using asio4all on Podfarm with a realtone cable (rocksmith) It's working decently, the only problem is that everytime I load up Pod Farm, The input channel isn't remembered. I use either Input 3 or 4, anytime I try input 1 or 2 I get a horrendous screeching sound. (anyone know why that is?) I used to have it where it remembered to use Input 3, I also had it once where the asio4all realtone cable worked on input 1. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get it back to one of those ways?
