  1. I've decided to try some home recording with my HD500 and found it a bit confusing - and as such, I'm wondering if I'm actually doing it right. First things first - I'm using Windows 7, and the POD is connected via the USB cable to my PC with the latest drivers installed. Once the POD is powered on, a new playback and recording device appears in the Windows Sound configuration window. Here's the part that baffles me. If I go to my recording application and select the ASIO and POD500 as the input... then NOTHING will be recorded UNTIL I select the POD HD500 recording device as the default recording device in Windows Sound configuration. This... doesn't make a lot of sense. I'd expect the Windows Sound configuration to be the settings for, well, Windows sounds and how the OS records and plays back audio. I'd expect a recording application to "use" what the settings for that application imply - in this case, the POD. I'm using Cockos Reaper, BTW, if that makes any difference. Can anyone explain what's going on? PS. When accessing the L6 ASIO config, a field called "ASIO client" says "none"... I'm guessing this is wrong, when Reaper is active and SHOULD, in theory at least, be listening to the POD...
  2. The product is the Line 6 UX-1 audio interface; I could not find a menu to register that product. the serial number (I'm assuming SN is that) is (21) [serial removed]. ASIO driver (Windows 7) won't write the audio that I hear through POD Farm. I also tested my amp and get a lot of background static with the 15 watt Line 6 Spyder IV amp. So far my experiments to troubleshoot involved researching how to get Audacity to write audio, That would require using a recompiled version of Audacity for ASIO driver support. That is the crux of what I need help with, I can use POD tones entirely if the amp is just staticky or needs maintenance first. I've gotten the audio waveforms in Reaper and Sonar 8, so I know that it can detect the input. It simply won't write to disk. This might be asking a bit much, but I'd also like support to get my keyboard working sicne that encountered driver issues as well. I've included all information in my Support Profile for OS, drivers, etc. Thank you in advance, after I get the drivers working everything should go smoothly! Love Line 6 guitar tones!
  3. When I use my DAW my pod X3 and HD 500 never have problems. But I like to use my X3 as an external sound card just for listening to music and it often crashes and I can't restart my audio, and the only thing that gets my audio back is restarting my computer. I posted this once and I got a bunch of links to other forums or lists of windows 7 optimizations. None of them worked or I wouldn't be re-posting. I was curious to see if there was a way to use the asio drivers when I'm not using my DAW, because they never crash.
  4. I use Cubase to record guitar via POD HD500. I want to connect POD by USB and have ability to listen to a backing track from Winamp. Correct me if I'm wrong: 1. There's no way to send multiple audio sources to an audio card if you use ASIO. Which means if you connect POD via USB, you cannot hear guitar sound sent through Cubase (first source) and backing track from Winamp (second source). 2. You can, however, connect POD via Line In to an audio card and listen to both. Input signal from Line In is mixed internally by an audio card with signal from Windows kxmixer. ASIO in that case is not needed. Now a question: 3. If I have two audio cards in my PC, can I process signal from POD USB by first card, daisy chain both cards (Line Out to Line In) and then mix resulting signal on the second card and send output signal to speakers? This essentially means that Windows will have to send POD signal to first card and kxmixer signal to the second. I don't know if it's even possible. I'll probably need some signal routing software to accomplish that. Thoughts?
  5. Hi guys, i'm new here, and i have a nice question.. let's start from the begin, actually i record using my pod hd500 + Scarlett 2i2 + Cubase 5 (on windows 7), i use the pod hd500 xlr out into the xlr in of my scarlett 2i2, do you think it's possible to record using the direct usb connection of the pod and the Scarlett 2i2 (which is connected to my studio monitors) to monitor everything? (usually i don't need to monitor my guitar by the audio interface cause i use the l/mono out of the pod into my amp for that, but i need to listen to the backing track!) On cubase i can do this only using the generic asio drivers but i have a very big latency, it's impossible to work in that way! I want to record using the direct usb because the signal is more clear and with high fidelity... Any ideas?? :)
  6. Hello, I'm a previous user of GuitarPort / GearBox on a Windows XP with a SB X-Fi Titanium sound card. I experienced no issues with this setup and have used it for years. I recently purchased a new PC running Win8 and decided to give the UX1 a try. I'm using the same SB X-Fi soundcard, but I'm experiencing latency issues on the new setup, as follows: guitar->UX1->USB. The X-Fi is in Audio Creation mode. Though the latency is relatively small, it makes playing far too difficult. Also, in POD Farm, when I try to switch the Hardware from ToneDirect to Creative (ASIO), the PC freezes. If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks
  7. Hi everybody ! After formating my computer which works on WINDOWS 7, when I open Samplitude Music Studio 16 everything works correctly as long as my POD X3 is not connected. Using ASIO4ALL, I can play all of my audio projects with good CPU performances. The problem is when I connect my POD X3 and try to play my projects, the CPU percentage increases and of course everything is saturated. For example, on one of my projects, when my POD X3 is not connected, the CPU percentage is approximately 45%, and reaches more than 100% when the POD X3 is connected. The problem appears even if ASIO4ALL is still selected, hence ASIO POD X3 not selected, but the POD X3 connected to the computer. I don't understand what is the reason, I tried to configure my DAW and my POD X3 through its control panel, but the problem is still there. Before formating the computer everything was working perfectly. Thanks for reading and trying to help me.
