  1. Hey, I was wondering if I can route this way: 1) Bass through the Main-Ins to Main-Out. 2) The In-ear-Mix (the signal that normally goes to the "Body-Pack") through the returns. 3) Listen via Headphone-Jack to both Bass and In-Ear-Mix. So far I got: 1) and 2) working correctly... but I only hear the bass through the headphone-jack - without the In-Ear-Mix (coming from Returns) :-( Can you guys help? Thank you in advance! Alex.
  2. My current setup (which I use for shows at mid to large sized venues) is pod go with an epiphone thunderbird and a headrush frfr112 but it sounds much better when I plug my bass directly to the speaker. I have created a bass rig and it sounds great but still not as good as the direct input from my bass. Am I missing something related to the global eq or some other settings because I never faced these problems as a lead guitarist but recently I’ve made the switch and I’m kind of convinced that the pod go is just not meant for the bass. Any suggestions appreciated
  3. I have the black version of the 705 bass with the silver pick guard and would be very interested in trying to switch it out for the tortoise version. Before I launch into cutting a custom one, are there any spares that might be available? Many thanks
  4. Hi. Pretty new to Helix (floor v. 3.6) and Fender Active Precision Deluxe Bass. Playing through Helix with Pre-amp, Amp, cabinet, EQ, compressor etc. block chain settings. Wondering about best mics to use, placement, cabinets, etc.. I used to run live sound so I am familiar with what works analog. I would normally use a DI (output or box) or a bass drum or floor tom-tom mic on a mic stand or, maybe, a flat-sided "guitar" mic laying against the speaker grill. I can't really tell much of anything from the names/types, etc. and don't just want to try them all without a clue. Also, I don't get what position (7.5) is (vs. angle and distance), why distance is 9" (default for 47 Cond FET (Condenser Field Effect Transformer?)). (Starting with "Bass" amps / cabs.) Any / all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Hi by using protools with another software mutools in the same computer i can use all rtas vst tdm plugins in realtime with a very few latency of 64 samples. just see the video demo here where i use protools with mutools https://www.ayewind.com/use-native-plugin-without-in-realtime-without-latency and another video demo where i use amp farm 2 rtas on bass and guitar with protools and cubase. thanks for your reply i will be happy to share with you how to make it wotk in your configuration. best regards weesch
  6. I created a bunch of patches for an upcoming gig (first time live with the HX FX). Some patches are merely a clean sound with a compressor, others add a pitch shifter to that, and yet others are more complex with a Fuzz, Overdrive and Distortion. As most of the individual effects have one or more parameters to set their individual volume (or level or drive), not all effects have the same overall volume level. I want to save the sound engineer from a heart attack each time i change presets so i was wondering if there's an easy way to set the same output volume for all those patches. Now i attempt to balance the parameters of the different effects separately, but i'm afraid it's not good enough like that. Any suggestions? TIA PS this is for an active bass guitar, and I don't use any expression pedals.
  7. My Pod HD500X recently packed up (le cry) and I had the Bass Amp Pack downloaded on it which I purchased about a year ago. I bought a NEW HD500X for teaching and because it's familiar - but I can't find a way to redownload my previous bass settings with the pack. Is this possible to transfer packs over from one HD500X to another?
  8. I currently use a simple A/B switcher to swap inputs between my Kiesel ZBM6 (18v active pre) and NS Design WAV4 (passive piezo, running through an external 18V Aguilar pre). Even with the preamp for the upright cranked up all the way, the Kiesel pre is much louder. Is it possible to process the two inputs on the HX Stomp XL independently? Will I be able to match the levels and dynamics between the two instruments? Whether or not that's toggling the active input or certain patches only process one or the other input. Also, how does the onboard tuner fare with a low B string? Thank you.
  9. Hi all! Here's the problem: When I try adding distortion to my bass guitar tone it always gets extremely fizzy. I have tested different options (lowering high cut even down to 2 kHz, various amps, cabs, IRs, EQs, different models of distortion pedals and amps, different amp settings etc.) - though it's possible to mitigate the problem to an extent, the fizziness is always there. The solution which seems to work best for me is lowering the input impedance, even all the way down to 10k Ohm, which works more or less like turning down the tone knob on the guitar. Basically with that solution I'm quite happy with the tones I'm able to get now, so I'm not really asking for help with solving my problem - I'm just curious if anyone else has come across this issue and what solutions they may have come up with. BTW - with guitar tones setting the amp/IR block high cut to somewhere between 5 and 8 kHz basically always solves the fizziness problem - the more surprised I am at how hard it is to eliminate it from bass guitar tones. [edit] One thing I forgot to mention - the bass guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Junior Tribute DC - what I mean is I don't suppose the quality of the bass or it's pickup should be a problem. Cheers all!
  10. Hi! I'm a new bass HX Stomp user and i wanted to use this beast like a no pc Guitar Rig. But i have some trouble to find some good tones for the style i want to use it with! I play various modern style of music like lofi hip hop, futur house and overall electro style, so when i use Guitar rig, i surch for weird effects preset and adjust with what i need... i use a lot of Octaver(oc2 for that), Bit crusher, phaser, stereo... But when a go through the HX, i don't find much of good starting point to go in the direction i want... I know that those type of pedals are usualy used by "rock" musicians so there is millions of good thing for that style, but i'm afraid i really have to dig a long time to find my way... :s So i wanted to know if you knew some place where people share thoses kind of presets... or at least a forum where people exchange there presets! Thank a lot !
  11. Hey all. Just got a helix and still learning it, probably for some time. Got it mainly for church with guitar and found out it has great bass tones as well. I would like to use it live but unsure if it’s capable of doing like my current rig. I’ve searched the manual and forums to no avail. My band goes ampless with in ears. I use a MB 800+ preamp with two xlr outs on it, to the mixer. One is set pre effects to FOH and post effects to in ears. I can adjust all gig long if necessary without affecting FOH. Are the xlr’s out of the helix capable of this? I see no pre/post selectors on the helix itself and find nothing in the settings to do this. Is the helix post only and if I change on the helix it also changes FOH? If so then I’ll stay with my current setup. Thanks.
  12. I'm hoping for a Super Bassman inspired model as it's the only 'sound' for bass that I feel the helix and stomp are missing aside from maybe an Ashdown. (Its also one of my favorites so I am biased lol) What other bass amp models are you all excited for them to hopefully add in the future? (Heck throw in guitar ones too if you want)
  13. Hi everybody, this is my Helix patch for CHIC’s “Good times” - you can download for free! Ciao a tutti, questa è la mia patch per il brano “Good times” degli CHIC, potete scaricarla gratis! https://youtu.be/UXZvtReHFfQ
  14. So recently I finally got a bass for me to use with by Bass Pod xt (A gift from my father). I've using it with my guitar and I really like how it sounds with its integrated am models and effects. But once I got my new bass, it suddenly won't turn on. I've searched to see if anyone has encountered the same issue but ultimately found none. It seems that this is the only thing I can do for help. Does anyone know what to do.
  15. Hi Years ago a strap gave way and the body of my beloved Variax Bass hit the floor. Not too hard but any is too much. I'm pretty sure the next time I plugged it in, it did not work. It was years ago but i'm pretty sure the drop did it. I just set my gear up and tried it again in case I overlooked something. Still no sound, Just a green light on the bass and xps-DI. Is there something easy that may have come loose that I can spot and fix inside? If not, who can repair this for me in NYC please? Thanks, Tony

  17. Hey y'all, I'm a bass player and a g'tar man in different bands. I bought the Mooer GE250 to cover all the bases but recently have become disenfranchised with it due to the lack of any bass support/amps. One main bug bear is that I can't specify which input pad (+/-dB) to apply to each patch (as the bass is 18v Active and needs a -20dB PAD and the guitar does not) and it's a global setting. From what I can see, this is the same with the POD GO? Surely I can't be on my own in wanting that option in the Input stage ? You guys with passive and active g'tar or basses must have that issue too? I just can't seem to find anything about it online or any one with a similar issue. The end result is that the guitar runs cold and needs extra gain, or I have to remember to adjust the global setting, both of which are not a perfect solution. Thanks for you help.
  18. Hey gang! recently bought a HX stomp to overhaul my live rig - so far so good! What I want to do, is set up an FX chain with an amp/cab block and assign 2 outputs 1 sends the “amped” signal with FX to FOH/PA 2 sends just the FX to my amp (no amp block) My typical chain of blocks looks like: OD/FUZZ/DELAY/REVERB/AMP so I’m low on blocks. My bass amp doesn’t have an FX loop FYI The stomp is a powerful tool so hopefully I’m just missing a simple trick with mixing the output? I've watched a bunch of videos and read a bunch of topics but nothing seems to touch in exactly what I want to do - hopefully that doesn’t mean it’s impossible! thanks in advance everyone!
  19. Hello all.. I just uploaded a preset that I have been using with my Dean Rhapsody 12 string bass. It's called dIg dUg 12ver and it's on the Line 6 Custom Tone Page now. It's inspired by Dug Pinnick of King's X. In 2014 I was fortunate enough to play on the 2014 Progressive Nation at Sea Festival where I met Dug and was able to pick his brain on how he gets that tremendous bass tone..crunchy with no lose of bass at all (check out Pretend from the Dogman album and also the intro to Out of the Silent Planet from Gretchen Goes to Nebraska) . I asked him if he used a crossover of some kind..he responded with "Nope, two amps..it's the only way! A bass amp running clean with the bass up, and a guitar amp running dirty with the bass out and highs cranked all the way... absolutely no bass or it gets muddy!" He then told me that someone was working on a preamp for him that did all this without the need for two amps..he wasn't able to discuss exactly who or when (of course this ended up being the Tech 21 Dug Ultrabass 1000 preamp). When I got my Helix Rack I figured I'd try out a similar setup to his 2 amp method. A detailed description can be found on the download page. If you wanna hear how it sounds you can hear it at Internet Archive. I recorded it direct from my Helix Rack into my MacBook Pro using Waveform 11 as my DAW, and my Dean Rhapsody 12 string strung up with custom gauge stainless steel SIT Rock Brights. The other preset I've uploaded is called Ged2112 and is my version of the Tech 21 GED2112 preamp. I use it with my Sire V7 w maple neck. Pretty straight forward, nuthn' too fancy. Just my approximation of Geddy Lee's tone. Somewhere between Moving Pictures and Clockwork Angels. Sorry, no sound bytes. Please comment if ya download!
  20. In my past I managed to achieve a really nice distorted tone with the POD Screamer. Recently I tried to recreate that tone with real pedals and noticed that it sounded nothing like that which shouldn't be a suprise because the Pod-Screamer has Bass and Treble controls which the real Tube Screamer doesn't have. So what exactly is the real model of the POD-Screamer? The only thing I found with Bass and Treble controls is the ''Boss ODB-3 Bass OverDrive'', ''Ibanez TSB9'' and a Behringer-Copy of the Boss. I wouldn't mind buying one of these pedals but I don't really know if they do the same as the POD-Screamer since they're all bass pedals. Any experiences or suggestions (except buying and trying :D) ?
  21. Good day, I got the PodGo because I am new to effects, all the previews said it was pretty easy to use, and it was more economical then the pedal setup I was considering. It has been nice playing the bass over the laptop speakers to YouTube backing tracks. However, (day two of ownership) I would like to connect Pod Go to my amp combo but be able to switch between: My amp combo effects and eq with just effects from the PodGo (no amp and cab models) PodGo effects, amp, and cab models with my amp combo eq but no amp combo effects PodGo effects, amp, cab, and eq models with no effects from my amp combo I have a Peavey Max 100 amp combo that has a couple of on-off eq profile buttons, and connectors for active input, passive input, FX loop, DI, and footswitch. The Quick Start on page 7 of the 1.10 owners guide has a setup for powered speakers but it does not say which input to connect to. Should I be connecting to the active input or the return FX loop? How do I assign a foot-switch to toggle between no PodGo and no amp combo effects? My bass ( Ibanez GSR205SM ) has active pickups, a tone knob, and an eq knob that rolls over a low/mid/high boost/cut profile. Do I need to have these knobs turned all the way down using the PodGO to the amp combo? I don't want to overload anything by sending boost/effects from both the bass, PodGo, and amp combo. Is there a way to filter the amps and cabs for ones used for bass? There are a few factory bass presets in banks 12 and 13 so I know those ones are for bass. However, in PodGo Edit there is no indication of what is bass and what is guitar. I saw a review of other Line 6 products where this filtering was an option. Is this coming in a firmware and/or software update. Perhaps just putting the bass clef in one of the corners of the amp/cab icon would help. Thanks
  22. In today's video I go over my Clean and Bright bass tone that I pretty much start with when I'm writing or recording any music other than my metal productions. After a play through of a track I put together, I go over all of the settings inside of Helix. I am using the Ampeg SVT-4 PRO amp block. I am also using Ownhammer Impulses in this one from their Ampeg pack. https://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=190&products_id=354&zenid=3b5832f68c08a3b983ca8799c6b347f6 I hope this is helpful and you can use it as a jumping off point for your own productions. Be safe guys and I hope you're all doing well. Love Nick

  24. What's up guys? I'm looking for advice and to possibly start a discussion on different methods of using multiple instruments (specifically bass and keys) on the Helix in a Praise and Worship setting. I have and DeepMind 6 and BassStation II that I want to start incorporating into my workflow for sub-bass sounds, pads, and drones during specific parts of service. First thing that comes to mind is how little I use effects while playing bass. I usually play a GK PLEX and roll with it. So, transferring that same approach to the Helix, I have a lot of foot switches I could potentially use here - play programed chords, play a sub bass line to reinforce my stringed bass, change keys patches, use the volume pedal to fade from bass to keys, etc. I think my main obstacle right now is I don't know how to route 2 instruments in and out of the helix (or at least the proper way) nor do I know what this template would look like. How else are you guys setting up the Helix as the core of routing and processing multiple instruments? Cheers from Louisiana!
  25. I have a G10 to a Helix, running into a Powercab Plus with Line 6 Link without issue. I also have Helix running XLR stereo out to a Focusrite Scarlett 18/20. None of this has any issue. I added a Fender Rumbler 25 to practice Bass. Hooked it up with the 1/4" output. Now I hear this computer like hiss that rolls in and out. but just on that amp. I've unhooked EVERYTHING from the Helix and it's still there. Everything is hooked into the same power outlet for ground loop isolation. I've also tried another 1/4" cable and routed it a different way. G10 straight into in the Rumbler has no issues. Checked the 1/4" setting on the Helix and it's set to Instrument. I'm at a loss on what I can do to isolate it. Can I lift the ground wire on the 1/4" or do they make some sort of isolation device for 1/4" . This has to be between the Helix and Rumbler only. Please Help, Mike "
