  1. Français Deutsch Q: Which power supply works with each Line 6 device? Line 6 power supplies are available at your local dealer or at our Online Store. Q: I want to power more than one Line 6 unit from the same power supply. How can I achieve this? A: The Voodolab Pedal Power II Plus can power up to 6 Tonecore pedals and two Modeling pedals at once, and the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power AC can power up to four Modeling pedals. Other power supplies may not deliver consistent voltage and are not supported by Line 6. Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus Voodoo Lab Pedal power AC To power the early Line 6 "modeler pedals" (DL4, DM4, FM4, MM4, etc) with Pedal Power 2 Plus, use output 5 or 6, DIP switch AWAY from normal with the supplied red/black ended cable (it's 2.1mm/2.5mm reverse polarity and the red end fits the effect pedal). The reason this works is that the actual current draw* of these early modeler pedals is less than 250mA. Also, when DC power is used, 12V is required (as opposed to 9V when AC power is used). *It is quite common for effects/pedals to be labeled to match the specifications of some included/OEM power supply (as labeling them differently can often times confuse the end user). When however, in reality, these effects/pedals will have an actual current draw (mA) that is (far) less than this specified/labeled value. Note: sometimes, the actual current draw can be found in the manual (appendix/specs). Q: I am traveling overseas. How should I power my Line 6 device? A: You can buy any adapter that converts your country's power to these specs and it will work. Any electronics store in your country should be able to sell you one, or you can contact your local Line 6 dealer. Be aware that the DC-1g and DC-3g power supplies are universal across all voltage and power standards around the world, and you will only need the appropriate adapter for a new region rather than a different power supply or transformer. There are certain products that operate over a range of power supplied and don't require any conversion: Helix Floor/Rack/LT, Powercab 112/112 Plus, all Catalyst amps, Firehawk 1500: 100-240V AC Relay G90: 90-250V AC POD HD Pro/Pro X: 100-240V AC POD X3 Pro: 100-240V AC Q: What if I do not have the Line 6 power supply? A: If it is not possible for you to obtain an official Line 6 power supply, then any other power supply with the same specifications should suffice (but is not supported). Q: I am outside the United States, what do I need to power my Line 6 unit? Option 1: We recommended that the proper Line 6 power supply be used.   2. Lithium Ion (L-Ion) rechargeable batteries are a very common technology employed in many consumer electronics. The below suggested best practices and general information will help you achieve the maximum battery performance over the product’s expected lifetime. The typical estimated life of a L-Ion battery is 300-500 charge cycles (fully charged-fully discharged-fully recharged) or 2-3 years, whichever occurs first. L-Ion batteries will slowly discharge when not in use. Do not leave batteries unused for extended periods of time, neither in storage nor in the product. When a battery has been unused for 6 months, charge or dispose of the battery based on charge status. Rechargeable L-Ion batteries have a limited life and will irreversibly and gradually lose their capacity to hold a charge. Run time decreases as the battery loses capacity. Elevated temperatures can cause permanent loss capacity and negatively impacts the cycle life. Whenever possible, keep L-Ion batteries in cool conditions to preserve the capacity of the cells.
  3. Does the JTV Variax require the battery to be installed to update the firmware? I plugged in the USB adapter and cable that came with my Variax to the PC but I have not installed the batter yet as it is charging. The Line6 Monkey software sees the USB adapter but does not see the Variax. Does the battery have to be installed to do a firmware update to the Variax? Does Workbench HD require a baqttery to see the Variax?
  4. I have a 700 acoustic, but also a new Line6 Standard (strat). Admittedly I like to consider crazy things sometimes, so, I am pondering if I can use (with heavy modification), the Line6 "Standard" strat battery (like the JTV battery) to power my 700 Acoustic. The easy part is getting the connection (that is just some creative wiring and routing), so what I don't know, is the voltage/amp stuff. Specifically, is the "Standard" JTV battery gonna damage the (older) 700 Acoustic (based on a 9v or 6 AA battery) circuits? Anyone have a solid background with these circuits and wanna chime in on this crazy electrical possibility?
  5. Hi, I've bought a used JTV-69 and some weeks later I realised that not having the special usb cable/workbench interface is actually a problem.. anyway.. I was charging the battery with the original charger and now I lost it. I have plenty of Sony NP-F batteries (which I know will not work with the JTV) but my question is if I can use the generic charger to charge the Variax battery? Thanks in advance!

It is possible that the receiver's LED halo will flash red under other conditions, such as if the transmitter is not properly docked. Q: What is different between the original G10T and the new G10TII transmitters? A: The most obvious difference may be that the original G10T is black in color, while the new G10TII is dark grey. The new G10TII also incorporates new battery management technology, resulting in up to 7 hours of runtime and 170 hours of standby time, compared with the original G10T on the latest version 1.06 firmware, with up to 6 hours of runtime and 150 hours of standby time. Additionally, the new G10TII is electrically compatible with instruments using active pickups and preamps, without the need for an adapter. Q: My G10T/G10TII transmitter was fully charged, but my G10S is now at a single red LED and I have not played for very long. What happened? A: If, after a full charge, the LEDs drop to a single red LED sooner than expected, the transmitter may continue to operate for a number of hours, depending on the condition of the battery. While variation exists between batteries, a red blinking LED will generally indicate 30 minutes or less of play time. Q. Why is my docked transmitter flashing green when I know it's fully charged? A. Once a transmitter reaches full charge when docked, the transmitter will begin to discharge at a trickle. Eventually, the transmitter will dip down to a threshold at which it charges again. At that point, the LED may begin to flash, indicating charging. This could be noticeable for a few seconds, or potentially longer, depending on the condition of the battery. Just as there will be variation from unit to unit with regard to battery performance, you may observe the interval at which that flashing occurs may vary from unit to unit. Transmitters that have been through many cycles or that have problematic batteries could have a diminished performance and might now be much closer to dipping down into that threshold when they trickle upon full charge, which could make that flashing LED state occur more frequently, where it might be more readily observable in those cases. Q: I inserted the transmitter into the receiver and let it charge for many hours, but the transmitter never fully charged. The transmitter and the receiver is constantly blinking red. Why?   12. Just bought a Variax Standard. Updated to latest firmware (was 2.21, now 2.23). Workbench HD loaded and working. All behaving as it should so far. The behavior of the battery status lights on the back of the guitar is a little odd, and not as described in the manual. Battery is fully charged. First press of the status button shows 4 lights, as it should. A second press lights up lights 1 to 4 in sequence (1 comes on, then goes off, then 2 does the same, then 3, then 4). A third press flashes light 2, then light 1, then light 1 a second time, then light 2 again. Fourth press goes back to showing the status (4 lights on again). Is this as it should be? What does it mean? It's not random - the sequence is exactly the same every time, so I'm guessing it's some sort of testing or status indication. I'm a bit worried about battery life though - I bought the guitar brand new today, but I know it's older stock and the serial number on the guitar starts Y15, which I guess means it's a 2015 guitar. Shelf life on these types of batteries is typically 3 years or so whether used or not.

  15. I have a Relay G10 which I bought it in October 2018. It's been either in my guitar being used, or in the charging cradle, plugged in, in that period of time. Very recently, it's dropped from more than an hour (don't know exactly, but I normally play for max an hour at a time), to about 7 minutes before it flashes Red and dies. I'll check but I don't think there's even a brief flash of Orange before it dies. I have the box and receipts, I don't think I registered it at the time of purchase. Does anyone know if this is a common situation, or if I have any comeback? I've done a firmware update om transmitter and receiver and it didn't help. Thanks friends.

  17. Hello evereyone, I was just confrontaded with a really weird issue with the DT25 Unit. Everytime i left my amp on the rehearsal room for as long as a week disconected from the power due to fire prevention, i found the amp with a really bad issue whem i try to start it again: all the lights from the switches turns on buts no sound comes out of the amp, just a quite noise. On the first time i reeinstalled without trouble the flash-unit and it helped. The second time the amp wasn´t recognized trought the Midi interface. Curiosly it started on his own after beeing setted on standby about an hour along without doing nothing with it. I noticed this because it did a typical clipping sound and after that just a few lights were on and it was ready to be played. It is well known not to let the power on inside rehearsal rooms when you left it. So my question is why is this happening in the first place. Is there a hidden battery which needs to be loaded on regular periods of times, and it is possible to replace this battery? Thanks up front for any hints and answers!
  18. I have been testing the Kentli rechargeable batteries for use in our XD-v70 wireless microphones. We were throwing away batteries when they got down to 3 hours and it just seemed wasteful. I was wondering if anyone else has tried these batteries and what their results were. They are available from Amazon. These are Lithium-ion batteries that must have a voltage regulator in them to supply the normal 1.5 volts. I just recharge them when the microphone shows a drop in the amount of time left. Due to the voltage regulator, I believe that they would provide the full 1.5 volts until they are almost dead. Any thoughts?

Hey, guys, I use my JTV-59 Variax infrequently (basically only on Sundays when I need a banjo or I'd need more than two other guitars), so I make a habit to always check the battery the night before I use it. Two weeks ago, the battery indicator was at two lights, so I popped the battery into the charger before I went to bed. In the morning, the lights on the charger indicated that it was finished charging, so I popped it in the Variax and hit the battery level button. A brief, instantaneous flash of all 4 LEDs, nothing else. I hit the button again and get each LED lighting up and turning off sequentially - 1, 2, 3, 4. I hit it a third time, and the LEDs flashed in this order: 2, 1, 1, 2. The flashes were longer this time, as if this were a specific error message. A fourth press starts the cycle again, but with a slightly longer initial light up of all 4 lights. I used it that week with no problems whatsoever (I had a backup guitar, though). I checked it last week (ended up using my Strat because I threw my back out and didn't want to deal with the weight of the Variax), same thing. I checked it again today as there's a tune with banjo on the setlist this morning. Same thing. I reinstalled the battery just in case it wasn't seated correctly - same thing. What's going on here? I can't find any mention of those LED indicators communicating anything other than the power level of the battery.

  21. I have not seen this posted on the forum, so I thought I would post it. I wondered how long it would take to charge a battery from dead to when the red light flashes. I just timed it at 3.5 hours. (give or take a few minutes!) For any of our international members, this was on a 110 volt ac outlet.

SO i baught a Variax Standard summer 2016 and so far ive been quite happy with it (i only use it for homestudio work), yesterday the guitar just sort of died while i was recording something (lost sound and signal), i had charged the battery the day before which made it weird, but anyways i just plugged it in the charger hoping that would fix it. Well, its now been blinking for 17 hours straight and when i put it in the guitar the back lights up then dies imidiately..As the batteries are kind of expensive (too me atleast) i want to make sure before i end up buying a new one.. SO i seem to remember that the variax is still playable without the battery but that to access the different models you have to have battery, but when i plug in the guitar (with or without the battery) the guitar makes NO sound at all, and acording to my daw its like its not even plugged in..Is my guitar ruined?? OR is it "just" my battery?? Please help a Norwegian out :) Edit: Also tried pressing the round flush black button next to the lights, it lights up all four for about 2 seconds then they all go black..
  24. I bought a Variax Standard a couple of weeks ago. Within 24 hours it developed a "white noise" problem when in Variax mode, which I reported on this forum. I returned it to the online supplier, and they quickly replaced it without quibble. The new guitar seems fine (so far) but there may be an issue with the battery and/or charger. The indicators on the charger and guitar do not seem to correspond with the manual. The charger instructions say that it will flash red once when first connected to power, steady red when charging, and flashing red when fully charged. When the replacement guitar arrived I immediately put the battery on charge. It was still steady red after an overnight charge of around 16 hours - no flashing full charge indicator. I tried the battery in the guitar but only got 1 flashing green light, indicating minimal charge. I put the battery back in the charge cradle, and immediately got flashing red indicating a full charge, but still only minimal charge detected by the guitar. Now I find that I get a steady red light on the charging cradle when it is connected to the mains WITHOUT the battery inserted. If I disconnect the power and reconnect it, I get various red flashes for a minute or so, then it goes back to steady red. If I insert the battery again, it just stays steady red, even though the battery has had over 16 hours charging. Battery faulty? Charger faulty? Or both? I am very happy with my Helix, but I am beginning to lose my faith in Line 6 with my experience of the Variax. Two brand new guitars with problems is a bit much.

Hey all, wondering if anyone else has had this problem in the past with their Relay G50/G90 transmitter: My guitarist made the error of using his with a set of "cheaper" Chinese-made rechargeable batteries. I'm not sure if it was a problem with overcharging, heat, etc., but they're now stuck in his transmitter. The battery door still closes, and the transmitter still functions, but these batteries can not be removed. Almost as if they've expanded in size to the point where they're stuck. Has anyone developed a trick for dislodging batteries that have gotten stuck in these transmitters? Hoping I don't have to send it off to Line 6 in order to get this issue solved. I also don't want to attempt to disassemble the unit myself in order to remove them, as I'm sure the company wouldn't recommend that. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
