Blues SRV using ESP LTD EC 600 and powercab+Does any one have a similar setup and any luck with a fat blues tone? Whatever I try it still sounds "fat" or " fake". I even tried a follow along youtube guide and already I heard a big difference with only the amp in place (video had no pc btw). I'm lost..I'm starting to think my guitar is rubbish and can only play metal.. Tips any one?

Is The Pod Pro Hd X Right For Me?
FusedPower posted a topic in POD HDOk, so here's my dilemma. As of now I live in a tiny apartment with my Line 6 Spider 3, my guitar, and my laptop. Now, for the past year I've been playing through my amp through headphones, like through the headphone jack, because I cant play my amp slightly loud enough, before my neighbors come banging at my door. Anyways, I'm thinking about buying a Pod Pro HD X, but there's a few things I want to know about it before I pick it up. 1. Can I plug headphones and my guitar into it and play directly through it? 2. I'm pretty sure this is true, but can I plug my guitar and headphones into it, and plug it into my laptop via USB, for recording purposes? 3. Can I use a L6 FBV Express MKII on it? For like Wah effects and stuff? 4. Does the Pod Pro HD X sound better than the Line 6 Spider 4? Those are pretty much my only questions. I really want the HDX because I want to start recording, and I've tried with my Line 6 Spider 3 using a Aux audio to aux audio and plugging it into my mic port in my laptop, and it sounds like utter sh*t. I really don't want another actual amp either, because I hardly play live, or go out to play. So is the Pro HD X right for me?
Variax 2.0 Clip
chuskey posted a topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HDHaven't gotten the chance to play around too much with the new firmware, but so far I really like it! I thought I'd post a quick clip I made last night: https://soundcloud.com/chuskey/variax-2-0-firmware-tone-test I thought the Strat sounded so good it made me dust off some SRV licks and play some blues :) I was running the Strat neck pickup into a HD500 straight into an audio interface. I was using the Dr. Z model with no external processing. Overall impression of the update was that the models were way more dynamic and lively. I even noticed that on the acoustics. I know they had already gotten the HD upgrade in a previous firmware, and it could be my imagination, but even they seemed to have a much wider dynamic range than before. I'm digging it, especially for a free update!
