  1. Hello All, I think I'm about lose my mind. When I try and set up my channel volume a foot-switch I set a min and max value. Simple. I press it on, my volume goes up. I press it off, it goes down. Except, when I change my snapshot, the setting seems to be getting confused and leaving itself on a higher volume when off and turning down when it's on. This wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that I have other functions assigned to that switch to help boost it, so this is really, really frustrating. Anyone have any ideas how to help? Thanks
  2. Volume Controls The overall volume is the Master Volume control. This is controlled by the 'big knob' when the LEDs are red (the default state). All of the other volumes happen before this one and it's ultimately how you control the output level while keeping everything relatively balanced by using all of the other controls. This is a global control. The Guitar Volume happens just before the master and is how you balance the guitar level against the Bluetooth streaming audio that is coming into the unit. This is also a global control and is accessed by pressing the big knob until the LEDs are white. The Channel Volume is like a Master for just the amp, and it is stored with the patch. It adjusts the output level without affecting the tone (like the 'Gain' control on the amps would). This is the control you use to level your presets relative to each other. The slightly quirky thing here is that it does live in the amp processing slot, so it happens in the signal chain before the post effects. In v1.1 firmware and later, pressing the big knob until the LEDs are pink acts as a short cut to accessing this control without the app. The Gain on the amp panel is the per-patch parameter that affects the tone of the amp (also referred to as 'Drive'.) The Volume Pedal is an additional real-time control whose value is not saved with the patch. You can see in the app where it lives in the signal path. The Master control on HD amps is considered a 'deep edit parameter' (like sag, hum, etc.) that is saved with the patch and is exclusive to HD amps. It's the output level of the preamp to the power amp. When you load one of these models, the stored value is "right" for that amp in the default state and it's usually best to leave it where it is unless you are going for a very specific effect. Speaker Modes on 1500 These modes are accessible though the app. Bluetooth streaming audio is effected by the speaker mode selection as well. Mono; Top Horn, Center Speaker. Stereo; Left Coaxial, Center Speaker, Right Coaxial *Note A Limiter is present on this mode to maintain a full stereo image. You will not get full volume in this mode. Stereo Wide; Left Coaxial, Center Speaker, Top Horn, Right Coaxial.

    jam volume

hi all line 6 lovers, hope someone can help out. The problem is when am playing my spider jam and want to turn down my channel volume, the smallest of smallest tweak to the channel knob makes the sound almost non existent and then i have to turn it all the way around to bring the volume back up to hear the sound again to a good level. is it me being thick or do I have a fault, any advice would be appriciated
  4. Hello All, Where do most of you have the preset channel volumes at? On my 2011 Spider Valve mkII 212 Combo, I have them in the 40's and 50's and I am not even at 9 o'clock on the master when gigging and it is plenty loud. Should I ratchet those preset channel volumes down even further (10-20) and jack up the master (noon or so)?. I am sure that is better for the distorted presets where it will really heats up the gain/tone, but what about my clean channel? Ideally clean should have high channel/low master volume and vice versa on the distorted presets, no? I have a lot of songs where I switch between clean and dirty and solo (think Skid Row "I Remember You") and I just want to stomp on the preset buttons and not use the volume pedal. Right now I have everything balanced in the presets so I just switch back and forth between presets using the switches on FBV without using the volume pedal at all. Any thoughts????? Thanks! Joe Venezia
  5. Hi! I recently get a Spider iv of 75 watts. I was so excited about it, but then i start with trouble. I was playing...testing the presets and making mine but suddenly I realized that the volume was too high in some of them, I didnt want to change the master volumen every time I change my channel...so I start reading the manual and I start changing my channel volume....I was doing fine, until I try to change the channel volumen of one of my presets. An example Drive Bass Mid Treb Channel Vol. 7 6 4 8 3 (On the display and knobs) This is how i safe my preset Then I move chanel volumen becouse it was a little bit down so it end like this... Drive Bass Mid Treb Channel Vol. 7 6 4 8 5 (On the display and knobs) BUT!!! the volumen just went all the way down.... so I needed to turn the channel volume all the way up just to get a lower sound than the initial one. What am I doing wrong?
  6. I'm playing at home, so trying to keep things relatively quiet, but I'd like to get the best sound possible from the various Spider setting options (I'm all over the map, jazz, rock, blues, country). Am I going to get better sound quality if I turn the channel volume up on the amp and down on the guitar, or down on the amp and up on my guitar. I've been messing around and amp down/guitar up sometimes seems better, but I'm not sure. And if that's the way to go, how far down on the amp should I turn the volume? So, simply put: which guitar volume and amp drive, channel volume, and bass/mid-range/treble settings will give me the best sound quality at low volume?
