  1. My computer does not pick up my pod HD 500 I installed the driver with line 6 monkey for the pod HD 500 and the installation processes said it was successful, but when I go back into line 6 monkey the option to update the driver is still there. When I say connect to device in line 6 monkey it doesn't want to connect and in Pod HD EDIT it does not detect the device. What am I doing wrong ?

    Pod Hd 500

Hello, I am fairly new to this system and set-up with computers but i dont understand why the sound is changes. I create the sound then save it to my pod, but then sounds different. For example :- load Casbah to set list 3B then tweak it a bit and add pitch shift to down it 2 steps all on my computer and sound awesome. Then transfer it to my POD HD step on the switch and loose the clarity, sound slightly distorted so loose the clean tone. Even the other sound i transfer don't sound the same. I am obviously missing something so any advice will greatly appreciated. Thanks SJ
  3. Hey, guys! I've been a user of my Pod X3 for about 3-4 years now and I loved that it came with lots of effects, amps, and whatnot. Unfortunately, my computer died a couple months ago and I finally got a new PC with all the programs that I need to run up and going. The only thing I can't really get back to work correctly is the Pod X3. It had a mass amounts of guitar amps and bass amps (etc.) on my old computer.. but now switching it to this computer I only have a measly 2 guitar amps, 2 bass amps, Etc. What happened? Also, i did the license manager thing after I installed the drivers and Pod Farm 1 & 2 but I honestly don't remember the username and password for it since it was so long ago and I've switched my email over and over again (for reasons) I can come up with an idea of what the password might be since I've been using the same couple passwords for numerous years. But for some reason it won't recognize my registered device (and yes it was successfully installed with drivers and all). All I want is to have all my effects back :( someone help?
  4. Hello Everyone, my first time posting to the forums. I've done a quick search on this and haven't found anything that gave any answers to my question....but sorry if this has been already answered and I just overlooked it. Anyway.... I recently purchased a Spider Jam combo amp and been trying to figure out how to connect the damn thing to my brand shiny new Macbook Pro? Do I need to go through the SD Card, or is there some sort of wires/cables like USB I could use? As for software on my Mac (OS X 10.8.4), for right now I'm just gonna use Garage Band. Mainly what I'm hoping to do is record my guitar to some of the backing tracks provided on the amp, and then share them with my Guitar Instructor. Any help or info about this would be greatly appreciated :)
  5. Deutsch Français In order for your computer to recognize your device when you are connected via USB, you will first need to install the appropriate drivers. Here is what you will need to do to install drivers on a Windows computer: 1) Download and launch the latest version of Line 6 Monkey, which is your intelligent updater program for Line 6 gear. See the following link for more information on Line 6 Monkey: Line 6 Monkey Installation and F.A.Q. 2) Turn off all other programs and disconnect all non-essential USB and Firewire devices (printers, cameras, mp3 players, etc.) from the computer (USB mouse and keyboard can be an exception if you do not have an alternative). 3) Launch Line 6 Monkey. If your unit is not connected (or there are no previous drivers installed), Monkey will ask you to choose the Line 6 device you wish to configure. For this tutorial we will select a Line 6 Guitarport from the dropdown menu. 4) Once the Guitarport is selected in the configuration window, select "OK". 5) In the Updates tab, highlight Drivers and select "Update Selection" on the right hand side of Line 6 Monkey's user interface. 6) Monkey will connect to our server and download the appropriate drivers for your Line 6 device. 7) After the drivers are downloaded, Line 6 Monkey will exit so the Driver Install Wizard can launch. Select "OK". 8) Once the Line 6 Monkey prompts you to plug your device in, the Windows Found New Hardware Wizard should open. Please follow the steps of the hardware wizard, and select "Next" to move to the next section. 9) If you are on a Windows machine you may be asked if you want to continue the install. Select "Continue Anyway" if you see this. 10) Wait for the installation wizard to complete the installation 11) Once the hardware wizard has finished loading the drivers, your drivers should now be successfully installed. Select "finish" 12) Now when you run Line 6 Monkey, you will now see the drivers with a Green check mark next to them in the updates tab. For more information on Drivers and how they work please follow the link below. Device Driver Explanation Sometimes it takes one more step to get the driver associated with the Line 6 Device. First let's get to your Device Manager. Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop. This will open the device manager. 6. Hello everyone! I am about to buy a DT25 combo to use with my POD HD500. I read somewhere, when you connect both devices through L6 Link, HD500 USB out goes quiet and only works as a MIDI interface (no sound signal). I used to make my recordings directly from HD500 USB out to a PC USB and directly to a DAW (Audacity, Reaper, etc...). Is there any way of continuing recording digitally, while playing HD500 connected to DT25 via L6 Link? If not, my enthusiasm on that Amp goes completely down the drain and I might call the deal off :( Anyone could give me a hint? Thank you all! Miguel
  7. I'm trying to play songs from my laptop through the POD into a guitar amp. I jam along with a second amp but. However, I'm getting a lot of noise. I'm running a 1/8" cable from the headphones jack on my laptop to the aux in on my Foor Pod Plus. I then use a 1/4" sheilded instrument cable to run from the POD mono out to the instrument input on a guitar amp. I get really bad high frequency interference-type noise coming through the amp. The strange thing is, if I hook up my iPod instead of my computer it is crystal clear. Or if I have my computer hooked up and use headphones via the POD instead of the amp, it is crystal clear. Only this computer + POD + amp scenario creates noise. I *could* just load the songs onto my iPod and use it, but it would be a pain and not nearly as convenient as using my computer. Any ideas what could be causing this noise and how to fix it? Thanks. Scott
  8. Installing POD Farm 1 after installing POD Farm 2 can corrupt the POD Farm system files. This will cause all versions of POD Farm 1 and 2 not function correctly. The workaround is to uninstall both versions of POD Farm 1 and 2, and then install POD Farm 1 first then POD Farm 2 afterwards.
  9. Q: How do I conenct the POD to my computer to record? A: In order to record the audio signal of your POD / POD 2.0 directly into your computer, you will first need the proper type of software that is capable of recording audio loaded into your computer. You will also need a sound card that has an audio input. If you have a Soundblaster type of card, you will need a cable that has two 1/4 inch mono plugs on one end and one 1/8 inch stereo plug. This cable can be found at most major music retailers. The two 1/4 inch mono jacks on this cable will need to be inserted into the POD's Left and Right Outputs and the other end of the cable should be inserted into the audio input of your computer's sound card. Make sure your sound card and audio software are configured to receive audio input and you should be ready to record. If you are using another type of soundcard, like a unit that has an external break out box, you can plug directly into that box using a regular guitar cable of a balanced (TRS) cable. Be sure to check the documentation that came with the unit to configure it correctly. Q: How do I connect my POD to my computer via MIDI to edit tones with Line 6 Edit? A: In order to establish communication between your POD's MIDI In and Out and your computer, you will need a MIDI-USB Interface, such as the Roland UM-ONE or a MIDI interface, two standard MIDI cables and the cables necessary to connect the interface to your computer. If your computer is equipped with a Sound Blaster type MPU 401 sound card, you can simply use a Joystick Port to MIDI adapter cable. This cable will allow you to connect your POD's MIDI directly to your computers sound card and establish communication between your POD's MIDI and your computer. The cable should provide MIDI In and Out jacks on one end as well as a Joystick "Thru" connector on the other. The "Thru" connector will enable you to connect a game controller as well as the MIDI cable to your computer at the same time. Please be aware that some Windows computer systems have MIDI driver incompatibility issues that prohibit the use of the joystick port with MIDI products. These Windows machines will also need a MIDI interface.
