  2. Hi, does anyone know how to setup cubase so that it changes snapshots? I tried to load a song into cubase and then send a midi command to change the snapshot or activate a footswitch but didn't have any success. When I dial the bank and program manually it changes setlist and patches but couldn't figure out how to automate it. Any hint? Thanks

  4. I have a problem where I think I made a beginners mistake: I'm trying to use my HD500X as a midi controller to start and stop playback in Cubase. It is connected via the MIDI-out from the POD to the MIDI-in on my Steinberg UR-22 Interface I have 4 buttons (FS1-FS4) assigned for next marker, previous marker, play and stop. The device is working with the DAW, but every input (or better yet the execution) is delayed for about 2 seconds. The weird thing is that I see the press of the button immediately on the midi-in statusbar. As soon as I press the button it flashes with the amount of input I chose (127) on the device. Then the play button is colored green but it takes 2 seconds until it actually starts playing. Same thing with every other command. When I used the keyboard commands it starts playing immediately. It feels like I missed something pretty simple, does anybody have an idea? Bonusproblem: Every time I load Cubase, the settings for the channel and the commands associated with the POD are wiped and I have to set them up again. Is that a Cubase related problem or is there something I forgot to set up with the POD? SOLUTION: It was a beginner's mistake. Be sure that when you choose how Cubase handles the MIDI signal, it's set to "COMMAND" in the device manager. I had it set to "TRANSPORT" - which was causing the lag. Since I wanted to communicate with the transport, I thought it was the obvious choice and didn't read any other items from that list. If you choose "COMMAND" there will be another column where you can select "Transport" and any command like "Play / Stop" or "Jump to Marker". Works like a charm. Thank you everyone for reading this post.
  5. AISIO Driver causes system freeze. When i have used the LINE6 ASIO driver in Cubase 12 then exit Cubase and Turn off the POD X3 live the system freezes. I must shut down Windows 10 to turn off the POD X3 live. Any suggestions?
  6. Some users have had the Helix Native VST3 plugin file blacklisted within Cubase. Here is some troubleshooting info that may help. Be sure to try these steps in the exact order: 1. Uninstall the plug-in binaries and resource files, shown below 2. Launch Cubase so that it can clear it’s plugin cache 3. Quit Cubase completely 4. then reinstall Helix Native, latest version from our downloads page: https://line6.com/software/ You will need to uninstall Helix Native by deleting the plugin files listed here: Plug-in Binaries /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/Line 6/Helix Native.aaxplugin /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Helix Native.component /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Line 6/Helix Native.vst /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Line 6/Helix Native.vst3 Plug-in Resources /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/da /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/res
  7. I just installed Helix Native and try to use it inside latest Cubase (11.0.41). My Windows 10 computer has two 4k Monitors connected. When the VSt window opens I see the Helix UI only very small, so I activate the "Allow window to be resized" function on the window. Window closes for some seconds and comes back in resized fashion. But as soon as it reappears a loud hissing sound (volume bar of channel shows -19 dB) can be heard. This happens every time I activate or de-activate the "allow window to be resized" function. To stop the hiss, I have to remove the HelixNative plugin from the channel's insert slot and have to re-select it there again. Is anybody aware of this issue? Is there perhaps another way to resize the plugin window for HiDPI displays (AFAIK the Cubase function "allow window to be resized" is only meant for legacy VSTs that are not aware of HiDPI)? best regards

  10. Guys, there is a serious problem giving me troubles. I own a Spider V20 Amp that runs perfectly. I can connect the amp to my Win10 PC and I can use Spider V remote e.g. This works smooth. I managed to use the amp for recording via Cubase 11 LE AI. As I started the software Cubase asked me, if I'd like to use Spider V ASIO as audio in device. The problemstarted 3 weeks ago up as I opened Cubase 11 LE AI. The software does neigher show an audio connection to the amp nor does it use the Spider V ASIO. The only audio in I can choose is the Mic of the laptop. There is no Spider V ASIO in the dropdown menu in studio settings. I only can choose the generic ASIO which is connected to the Mic as Audio In. I installed the Spider V Drivers several times. No effect. Starting up cubase, then disconnecting the amp and reconnecting it doesn't show any effect. I think the main problem is, the the Spider ASIO isn't recognized or loaded by cubase somehow. Is there a way to check, if the Spider ASIO Driver is installed properly? Or are there any other suggestions how to solve this problem?
  11. I have my Helix rack hooked up to my computer via USB so I can use HX edit, but also via the analog outputs into my soundcard for recording in Cubase. When I play a song Cubase uses the Helix as playback device for my midi-tracks, and since I have the analog outputs going into cubase it creates a feedback loop. Is there any way to turn off all midi-functions in the Helix?
  12. Hi everybody, not sure if this is the right forum, but anyway: I have been trying to remote my Helix with Cubase (Pro, 9.5) an ran into different problems. My setup is like that: We are a band with guitar (me), keyboards, and bass. Drums are programmed in Cubase with Addictive Drums and the like (on an iMac in the studio, on a MacBook Pro when playing live). Everything is nearly complete »virtual«, guitar via Helix, bass via POD X3, and keyboards all into the mixer into an 6x headphone amp. So we can practice nearly silent alltogether except the vocals anyway. In Cubase I have not only the drum tracks but also some playbacks for vocals, guitars, fx etc. For live playing, I have set up »long« Cubase tracks which contain up to 9 songs each, one after the other. I can navigate between those different segments by using »cycle markers«, which are mapped to keyboard numbers 1-9. So if I press »4« on the keyboard, Cubase jumps to the beginning of song 4, pressing »space« starts the playback. This is very, very handy. See picture. Now I had been thinking of remote controlling my Helix (connected via USB) by setting up an extra MIDI-part for every »song-segment« going out to the Helix. In this part I have (momentarily) only two controllers: one »Program Change« that sends a PC message to switch between Helix presets, and one controller »cc57« that toggles footswitch 10 in stomp mode on the Helix. Footswitch 10 is always assigned to a kind of distortion/boost fx on the Helix, used for guitar solos etc. So, when I jump to a »song« via keyboard, the Helix should the select the correct preset at first, and when it comes to my solo part and »cc57« jumps from somewhere below 64 to somewhere over 64, footswitch 10 should be activated … and when my solo part is over (and »cc57« jumps under 64) it should be de-activated. So all I send to the Helix is a Program Change and a controller message. AND IT WORKS! BUT the following problems occur: 1. When I press the space bar (start/stop) inbetween a song segment, footswitch 10 toggles as well, regardless of the »cc57« value. So it inverts the state of the footswitch, making it »de-activated« when it should be activated. 2. When I press the space bar inbetween two songs, the Helix becomes completely MUTED (no sound). When I jump to the next (or another) song start, Helix gets unmuted and live again. This might by useful for live situations but is not wanted here. What am I doing wrong? Footswitch 10 is set to »toggle« … »latching« does not work anyway. Cubase is set up to use continuous controlling and event following. Thanks in advance, best regards Opti/Alex
  13. Hello, hello. First posting on the forum, so yay. Too bad it's for an ugly, annoying issue: Using Windows 8.1, I'm consistently being stuck with a BSOD when recording / monitoring through Cubase. It happens at random, really. Sometimes I could be working for forty-five minutes to an hour or two, and other times I'll be slapped with that big, aggravating " :( " in a matter of minutes. The problem is always cited as "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED L6PODHD564.sys" Computer collects information to prevent data loss, blah blah blah... is supposed to restart automatically, but never does. I've looked around the web a bit before showing up, and apparently it's a driver conflict? There are known issues with Logitech webcams and the HD500 drivers, but having disconnected / disabled the webcam, I still run into frequent BSOD's. I've made sure all of my drivers are up-to-date, and I've checked all of m L6 stuff to make sure that it, too, is updated... but it's turning out to be pretty fruitless. And I am stumped. Anyone have anything that they could put forward to this? I realize that Cubase is really good at finding faults to crash on, and that Windows 8.1 is... pretty new, but my hope is that I'm overlooking a simple solution. Any help is appreciated! Note: I'm using a standard ACER Aspire E1-522-7843. Spec-sheet here: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/NX.M81AA.011
  14. I've tried to use the free Cubase Elements software that came with my Spider V, but it is way too complicated for me. What easy to use multitrack recording software should I try instead? I really liked GarageBand on my wife's 20 year old Apple Imac, but I don't know where she buried the old computer, and I do not know if there is a Spider V sound driver for the old IMAC G5. (kind doubt it) I'd like to be able to overdub no more than 10 tracks with mic, Spider V, and midi as the only inputs. Effects are not needed. I'm using a Windows 10 laptop, and I'm pretty sure many of the Cubase problems I've experienced are really Windows 10 problems, but simple software would be better. Thanks.
  15. Hi I'm running Cubase Elements and cannot for the life of me make Cubase Elements recognise my mic. I have never used music software before, so i'm an absolute beginner - any step by step set up instructions anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated please! It's the same with my headphones too, I can't seem to hear playback. I'm sure it's a simple channel issue but after days of trying I still can't figure it out. I have the ASIO driver installed. I have attached screenshots of my current settings. Thank you in advance!
  16. Hi all, I've been having issues forever trying to control Cubase via Helix through USB midi while still being able to receive PC/CC information for automatic preset/snapshot recall. I had given up and switched to the new hotkeys feature which seemed to work fine at first but now I'm having an issue again: on random occasion, starting playback in Cubase by pressing the footswitch assign to spacebar will induce a change in this footswitch's hotkey assignment and bring it back to "none" which then prevents me from stopping the playback. When I scroll to my previous/next preset and come back to my main one, everything is as should be and it might work fine for a couple songs, but then, it will happen again, from a different preset, or the same one, it is very intermittent. Has anyone experienced this instability? If so, have you come up with a solution around it? I really would like to get rid of my second midi foot controller and use Helix instead but so far, neither MIDI nor hotkeys have proven reliable enough for live use. a bummer.. Thanks for your help.
  17. I have been using my Helix Floor as an audio interface for Cubase. It generally works great. The Cubase stereo tracks come into the Hx via USB 1/2 and I use the XLR outs to feed my active studio monitor. I can send the guitar output of my Presets to USB 5/6 and the Mic input to USB 3/4. It even lets me reamp by sending a dry guitar part back into the Hx via USB 7. So far, so good. Yesterday my PowerCab 212+ showed up. I'm feeding the PowerCab via the L6 Link using an ordinary XLR cable. Sounds great - I LOVE this amp. But all is not good in paradise: The Cubase tracks coming into the Hx are feeding my active monitors via the XLRs as usual, and now also playing (very loudly) on the PowerCab via the L6 Link. Cubase is just sending tracks via ASIO Helix and USB 1/2. It doesn't see hardware past that, so I can't "switch off" the PowerCab from the DAW Does anyone have advice on how to change the routing so that the PowerCab doesn't see the DAW? Or maybe know how to configure the L6 Link port? Thanks mucho in advance, Mike
  18. hello everybody! i'd like to try the following: put a VST synth with arpeggiator on a track play sound on it with my usb master keyboard keep vst in sync with a midi pattern on another track I.e.: vst track must generate sounds only when pressing the master keyboard but the sync time must be given by another midi (silent) pattern/track. I basically would like to replicate on Cubase what this guy does in analog (synth octave bass pattern): can somebody help me? thanks
  19. Hello guys, I have a strange problem with Helix Native in Cubase 9.0.40. When I activate the Monitoring on an Audio Channel with Helix Native as Insert Effect, I still get the clean signal together with the processed Helix Native signal. Even if I deactivate all outputs in Helix Native, I still get the clean signal from the Guitar. Direct Monitoring in Cubase is deactivate (obviously as you can also hear the processed sound from Helix Native) and other Plugins (like Guitar Rig) don't have this problem. It seems that the clean sound is always routed inside Helix Native when Cubase Monitoring is activ. This problem appears only with Monitoring. When I play back a recorded track (monitoring function now deactivated as it wouldn't play back the sound), the signal is processed the normal way. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks for your suggestions. Greetings, Jan
  20. Just activated recently, bought the USB cable and am having issues playing back. Basically, I'm not hearing any Loops and Samples playback. Here is my status as I currently have it on my computer... Sound -- Output device > Speakers (my amp Line6 Spider V30). Input -- Microphone (Spider V30). Microphone -- Cubase LE is using your microphone. and when I go to simply start recording a guitar track...of course I go to Project, Add Track,....WHAT should be in audio inputs? Additionally, Configuration is in MONO, and Audio Outputs is in Stereo Out. ...so I need to hear playbacks and start recording. I know I need to turn something OFF, or isolate my guitar signal when previewing drum tracks. WHICH is it?? And my OS is Windows 10. Thanks for all the help!
  21. Update I resolved the issue, which was due to a faulty battery on the Macbook Pro which didn’t hold any charge, once replaced, Helix Native runs smoothly. -------------------- Cubase At 1024 sample buffer size and one instance of the plugin, the CPU usage is at about 80% and audio drops out slightly. Two instances, or other plugins, lead to serious dropouts. Reaper At 1024 buffer size and one instance of the plugin, the CPU at about 30 % load and it works unless I do something CPU intensive. Two instances makes use of 60% and the audio only plays well for a few seconds before starting to drop out. Versions Helix Native 1.81 demo, Cubase Pro 10.0.40, Reaper 5.983/64, Mac OS 10.14.6 (8GB RAM), RME Fireface 400 via thunderbolt adapter with firmware version 3.36 and Totalmix 1.60. My computer. Do I have anything unusual taking up CPU?
  22. I apologize if this topic already exists in the forum. I was searching on how to set up tone/volume in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. I didn't find the answer in Forum. My Spider V 30 is connected correctly to PC via USB and there is a sound of TL in Cubase. In Cubase, I choosed ASIO Spider V driver. I/O is Speder V (L&R) - Active. ASIO buffer Size is set to: Extra Small. I can record my TL from SpiderV 30 via USB and reproduce my records, too. It is not a problem, it works. But, quality of record is desperate and not acceptable, too. The sound is dark, blurry, somehow smudged and does not match what I hear on Spider V 30 while playing & recording. E.g effect as drive is not OK and corrupts the recorded. This is especially pronounced when I strumming all the strings. When I am playing finger style in clear sound or near clear, it is a better. It seams to me that solution is to set properly the tone on all devices in the chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. Acctually to set properly the tone/volume of input signal to PC or output signal from Spider V 30 via USB. When I am playing acoustic guitar via USB Audio Interface (UAI), I can adjust Input signal at UAI and all works fine. But at Spider V 30 there is not possibility to adjust Input signal. I can adjust tone at TL guitar as imput signal to SpiderV 30, but it changes a sound of guitar at SpiderV 30. Or I can reduce/decrease Master tone of SpiderV 30, but I can not hear what I am playing. Please, give me opinion regarding this topic. How to properly set up tone of all devices in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC? What are your experiences with this?
  23. Hi. I'm getting up-to-speed on integrating my new Helix Floor into my Cubase 10 recording rig. Here is the experience I'm having with the Helix connected to my computer via USB: In Cubase I open a project which was created before I even owned the Helix. IOW, this saved project could have no idea about Helix or the Helix ASIO driver. However, what I find is that the Helix ASIO driver is now the Cubase ASIO driver, putting me in a position where I do not recognize the names of the audio inputs and outputs as previously in use. Now, strangely (probably by design!), things do seem to "work" - I can record my guitar into Cubase and can play back my prior recorded tracks and hear them. The thing is, I have no idea what is really going on - why I'm even able to hear things, how the guitar is getting in and the pre-recorded audio is getting out. IOW, I suppose I just don't understand sufficiently how ASIO/audio works in Cubase, and especially how things change when the Helix is connected. My past history is using the Cubase with my MOTU 2408 mkII interface (which I do understand well), and also (more recently) using Cubase with my Motif XS keyboard and the Firewire ASIO interface (which causes the Motif to "take the place" of the MOTU 2408 mkII). Is there someone who has this all straight in their head who can write come words of enlightenment here that will help me to fully grasp the situation? Or, can someone point me to Helix ASIO driver docs which would explain it? If so, many thanks!
  24. Hi there, I have benn using my Helix LT for a year or two now and one of the feature I use the most is midi remote control from Cubase 10. We play to a clic and follow a Cubase project and all my preset and snapshot changes are triggered from a midi track in cubase assigned to helix through midi over USB. What I would like to do now is to get rid of the FBV shortboard MKII that I use to start, stop and navigate through Cubase markers and use Helix to do that instead. The problem I run into is that whenever I go to a certain marker using Helix as my midi remote, Cubase then sends back a midi program change command to Helix in order to go to the appropriate preset. When this happens, Helix then transmit back a midi command to Cubase telling it where it's at and releasing the footswitch now that I'm in a new preset also sends a midi command back to Cubase... this gives some weird behaviors like midi feedback and dual commands (press once but feels like I pressed twice) and most of the time all will fail. Is there a way to seperate the midi channel from the DAW remote from the midi channel from the preset/snapshot control? Thank you!
  25. Hey guys! I'm a MacOS user and I've been happily recording and practicing through my Helix using GarageBand. My band is about to record a song and we decided to experiment a bit recording techniques and use my Helix to lay all guitar tracks. To better prepare I wanted to try re-amping. This can't be done in GB as I can't route track output to Helix's USB inputs. I installed Reaper to try it. It sees my Helix as an audio device, is set to record it but it doesn't. When I play on an armed track, no signal shows up on the volume meter. Same thing in Cubase 8 LE. I can open Repaer and get no recording singal, then Cubase and get nothing. When I open GB everything works as expected. Could you help me troubleshoot this thing please? I can provide screenshots of config screens if necessary. I think that the DAWs are pretty much the same interface-wise across OSes ;) PS. If that's important I'm on a mid-2015 MBP with Mojave 10.14.3.
