  1. I need help getting my HD500 to be controlled by Cubase 6.0. I have set up a midi track on channel 1 Cubase and in one of the lanes, changing #CC051 value from 0 to 127, which should turn on FS1. I have connected my PC to an AKAI EIE Midi / Audio with one midi out cable connected to my HD500. I went into set-up on my HD500 and set midi to channel 1. I have confirmed that Cubase sees the EIE on the midi output. But when I play the cubase sequence, nothing happens on the HD500 when it passes the 0-127 trigger point. Is there anything special I need to enable on the HD500 as I have spent far too much time on this trying to figure it out. Thanks, Gorden
  2. .......cause I'm the newest noob in this community. My apologies to everyone for potentially asking a stupid question with a simple answer without first looking through every manual and old post first (I'm a little impatient). After 25 years of NOT playing music, I bit the bullet and acquired some gear and am now stumbling my way though all of this tech. I've picked up an HD500x and an L2M and some recording software. By just following directions, I've been able to configure my set up just fine....but....I can't seem to quickly find the info I need to finish. The problem....using the HD500x as the interface, I can't get the software tracks to play through my L2M. I can hear it in my headphones along with guitar, but only guitar is coming through the powered speaker. So I'm assuming there is an output setting somewhere within the 500x that will send the Cubase output to the speaker and not just the headphones. Thanks for your help.
  3. Hi Guys, I have been using my UX2 to do all my recordings for different things. Unfortunatly I have recently updated to Mavricks 10.9.5 and just recently upgraded my Line Monkey, Drivers and Podfarm to the latest versions. Using my UX2 through Cubase 6.5 now inputs/ picks up the device and allows me to record, then when I try and play it back I cannot here anything. If anyone else using Cubase has had this problem let me know how you fixed it. I checked the entire installation method and all the manuals for my device and it is all seemingly correct apart from one section. In: Cubase >Devices>VST Connections > Outputs I can only select Not Connected or my UX2 and not my internal speakers. Any help or ideas would be extremely helpful, I am also checking out Cubase troubleshooting see what I can find. Thanks!
  4. Hi guys! These are very old products and this question might have been answered before (but haven't found an answer): Can I use GearBox as an insert effect in Cubase 6 with a TonePort GX or does the ASIO driver not support it? Cubase offers me the option (see attached), but when I chose it - it freezes. Thanks a lot in advance!
  5. Hi! I'm hoping you guys can help me. I bought a UX1 about 7 months ago, I jammed with the POD Farm 2.5 with no major problems, also I've downloaded Cubase 5 in order to record stuff. I've recorded some short tracks with it, and it was pretty good. About a week ago I tried to record something with the POD Farm (in the standalone mode) and the Cubase.....when I listened to what I've recorded , my ears bleed! . It sounded horribly distorted with lots of fuzz, latency and noises. I double checked my POD Farm and everything sounded cool as always, so I thought it could be the Cubase...I run POD Farm as a plugin in Cubase and it was the same horrible, distorted, noisy problem. Then I thought it could be a matter of Cubase, so I downloaded Reaper and set the UX1 to work with it and....it was the same! Once again the POD Farm sounded awesome by itself but when I listened to what I've recorded with Reaper, it was the same story: distorted and crackled! I've done everything : change the buffer in Reaper, use better and shorter cables, updated the POD Farm with the Monkey, optimize my Vista laptop.....PLEASE HELP ME! POD Farm is working just fine...but I can't record anything without sounding like crap. I'm desperate :(
  6. Hello. My problem is the difference of the sound while monitoring and the sound of the recorded track. I use the PodStudio UX2 with PodFarm 2.57 (Standalone) and Cubase 7. I'm montoring with the Sony SMS-1P. While I play the guitar on hi-gain I hear the nice bright sound, but when I listen to the recorded track, the sound seems to be more dry and "grey", there is more sand in it. And when I play it on clean, the monitoring sound is bright and light but when i listen it in cubase, it's rather deeper, dirtier and not bright at all. I record in 96kHz, 24bit (i set it in project setup in Cubase). I also tried to make a bigger asio buffer size, but i can't see the difference, and i don't know the optimal value for the better quality. So, any thoughts about this?
  7. Hi, I'm having a lot of problems with my UX1 TonePort. I have used it for many years now without any problem, but I recently bought a new (better) computer and now there's some huge latency problems, as well as a lot of clipping and things like that. The BIG issue is, every time I try to change the buffer size (to fix the latency issue) my computer freezes for a second and then I get the blue screen of death. All drivers are up-to-date and everything is registered correctly. Could it be that my TonePort is just too old? I've had it since 2006, haha. Would really appriciate any help. Thanks!
  8. I use Cubase to record guitar via POD HD500. I want to connect POD by USB and have ability to listen to a backing track from Winamp. Correct me if I'm wrong: 1. There's no way to send multiple audio sources to an audio card if you use ASIO. Which means if you connect POD via USB, you cannot hear guitar sound sent through Cubase (first source) and backing track from Winamp (second source). 2. You can, however, connect POD via Line In to an audio card and listen to both. Input signal from Line In is mixed internally by an audio card with signal from Windows kxmixer. ASIO in that case is not needed. Now a question: 3. If I have two audio cards in my PC, can I process signal from POD USB by first card, daisy chain both cards (Line Out to Line In) and then mix resulting signal on the second card and send output signal to speakers? This essentially means that Windows will have to send POD signal to first card and kxmixer signal to the second. I don't know if it's even possible. I'll probably need some signal routing software to accomplish that. Thoughts?
  9. so i have this pod hd300 (not mine) and i want to play guitar through it. i connected the pod to my laptop via usb, i have the latest drivers available (installed them with line 6 monkey) and the problem is that i can't find the pod in the "inserts" menu on an audio track in cubase 5. i have selected the pod as my audio interface and i selected the pod as default driver in control panel in the "sounds" menu. it's strange because in cubase i can see that there is input and output when i play guitar but i can't hear anything from the pod.
  10. Hi guys, i'm new here, and i have a nice question.. let's start from the begin, actually i record using my pod hd500 + Scarlett 2i2 + Cubase 5 (on windows 7), i use the pod hd500 xlr out into the xlr in of my scarlett 2i2, do you think it's possible to record using the direct usb connection of the pod and the Scarlett 2i2 (which is connected to my studio monitors) to monitor everything? (usually i don't need to monitor my guitar by the audio interface cause i use the l/mono out of the pod into my amp for that, but i need to listen to the backing track!) On cubase i can do this only using the generic asio drivers but i have a very big latency, it's impossible to work in that way! I want to record using the direct usb because the signal is more clear and with high fidelity... Any ideas?? :)
  11. Hey everyone, So I'm trying to use Cubase to automate patch changes within my POD 2.0 basically so that when I record the guitar effects will change according to what is programmed. I've already been able to get Line 6 Monkey and the Line 6 Editor to work with the POD 2.0 via midi. I've followed the tutorial posted here to the best of my ability substituting the POD 2.0 for the Axe-Fx and I've gotten down to the part with the In-Line Editor. http://stratamania.wordpress.com/ Would someone be able to tell me if this is the correct procedure and if the POD 2.0 can actually be automated by Cubase? Also the other problem I'm having is figuring out what the program numbers are and where I can find them. Would someone be able to tell me how to do that? Thanks in advance!!
  12. Hi, I'd really like to know if anybody has had any joy with the above combination (tried the Steinberg forum too)... I've had some luck with the transport commands in Reason for digidesign ( an old M-Box cd ) so I know I have Midi signal, and my cubase transport bar shows midi in when I press any transport keys, so I know I'm connected at least. I've been checking out the manuals of course, Line6 and Cubase, but still no joy. I'm assuming midi is midi ,and you could map the KB37 to any DAW if you know what you are doing. If someone could even confirm or deny this that would also help, Thanks in advance, Tom.
  13. I'm using my ux2 interface to record a live acoustic band onto my laptop (on Cubase 5). I will have the output of the PA going into the stereo inputs on the back of the interface and a AT4033 going into one of the xlr inputs as I need phantom power. My problem is: I want a separate channel on Cubase for each wire coming into the interface (left output of the PA, right output of the PA and room Mic) but when I go into vst connections on Cubase it gives me a choice of 4 sends to choose from, can you tell me which send matches up to which input on the interface? Thanks!
  14. I just bought a iMac and Cubase Elements 7 - so now I am trying to use my POD xt as an 'external soundcard' for all my guitar work. Cubase doesn't seem to really 'see' my POD, and as a result the input signal is non-existing. I'm sorry to say, but my old pc and Cubase SX, worked beautifully with the POD, once I got the right drivers. What is going wrong here? I have compared to the pc/SX settings in Device Setup, where I just selected ASIO PODxt in Setup in VST Multitrack, and that was it! Device Setup in Elements 7, is a bit different, without a 'VST Multitrack'. In EL7 I have selected PODxt as ASIO Driver in VST Audio System. My Mac does not have a problem seeing the POD, or the input signal. Am I missing the right ASIO driver for Cubase - or what? It's quite frustrating - please help...
  15. Hi there, I am new to audio recording, and I only have a minimal setup here at home. (See specs at end of post) Basically, when I plug my POD HD400 into my speakers, it gives me the audio output (processed) with the plugin effects from cubase (as expected) but it still has the sound of the original unprocessed sound (as if you were only running the pod into an amp). Is there a way to only let the sound of the processed effects come through? my audio process: guitar -> POD HD400 -> PC -> POD HD400 ->Speakers I cannot get it to work if I play guitar to the POD, and try put it out through the speakers or my other audio interface (m-audio fast track). Is it possible to use the POD as my interface, and get playback through a different device? Also, is there a way to change my sound once I have recorded? right now it is recording the audio sound and I am unable to change the base sound (ie: heavy to clean). Equipment: LTD EC-500 POD HD400 Roland Cube 30x M-Audio AV80 (speakers) M-Audio Fast Track M-Audio KeyRig 49 PC: MSI H77MA-G43 quad core i7 3770k 3.5GHz 12GB DDR3 2TB HDD Samsung 500GB HDD Samsung 550Watt V9 PSU GTS 450 1GB GDDR5 Thanks in advance, Josh
  16. Hello everybody, I have been wanting to boost the quality of my recordings, so I was wondering if it is possible to have the following set up guitar >>> POD X3 Live >>> POD Farm 2.5 >>>> Cubase? What i want to do is to use the hardware in the X3 Live *WITHOUT* the sound emulation options, plugged into the computer. The sound emulation would come from the POD Farm 2.5 and, with Cubase 5 on, i would be able to record my stuff. Have the sound come from theguitar, use the X3 Live has an interface to transmite the sound signal into my computer, mod it in POD Farm and then be able to record it with cubase. thank you very much for the help.
