Locating Helix Native in Cubase/Nuendo For Mac Launch Cubase or Nuendo. Go to Devices -> Plug-in Manager -> VST Effects and check to see if Helix Native is Active and the box is checked. The default location is ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 Locating Helix Native in Cubase/Nuendo For Windows Launch Cubase or Nuendo. Go to Devices -> Plug-in Manager -> VST Effects and check to see if the correct location is added. The default location is C: > Program Files > Common Files > VST3 > Line 6 Adding Helix Native to a track in Cubase Add an audio track. Locating Helix Native in Pro Tools 1. Create a Mono or Stereo Audio Track 2. Open the Mixer Window in Pro Tools (Go to View -> Mix Window), then go to the insert section on the guitar tracks and click Insert A to view the plug-in menu and see if you can find the Helix Native plug-ins via the path: plug-in - Effect -> Helix Native Note: If the plug-in or manufacturer's name is not listed within the plug-in menu, then the plug-in is not detectable by Pro Tools. If the Helix Native plug-in isn't in the list, make sure it shows up in the Pro Tools Plug-ins folder using the directions below. If they don't show up there, try to download and install them again. If it does show up in the plug-ins folder but Pro Tools still doesn't see it, try trashing Pro Tools preferences. That will force Pro Tools to re-scan all the plug-ins in that folder. For Mac Check the Plug-ins Folder: 1. With the Finder open, click on Go and choose Computer. 2. For Pro Tools 11 or 12 (AAX), locate your plug-in at: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Avid > Audio > Plug-Ins > Line 6 For Windows Check the Plug-ins Folder: For Pro Tools 11 or 12 (AAX), open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Line 6

Hey guys! I'm a MacOS user and I've been happily recording and practicing through my Helix using GarageBand. My band is about to record a song and we decided to experiment a bit recording techniques and use my Helix to lay all guitar tracks. To better prepare I wanted to try re-amping. This can't be done in GB as I can't route track output to Helix's USB inputs. I installed Reaper to try it. It sees my Helix as an audio device, is set to record it but it doesn't. When I play on an armed track, no signal shows up on the volume meter. Same thing in Cubase 8 LE. I can open Repaer and get no recording singal, then Cubase and get nothing. When I open GB everything works as expected. Could you help me troubleshoot this thing please? I can provide screenshots of config screens if necessary. I think that the DAWs are pretty much the same interface-wise across OSes ;) PS. If that's important I'm on a mid-2015 MBP with Mojave 10.14.3.

What is Echo Farm 3.0 ? Echo Farm is a 64-bit delay modeler plug-in for the Pro Tools 11+ AAX Native platform. It offers 12 different delay models based on a combination of actual hardware devices and Line 6 originals and provides simple and effective controls for delay time, repeats, and other specialized parameters, such as magnetic head pattern or bit reduction. Echo Farm was introduced in the year 2000 as a Pro Tools TDM plug-in and became extremely popular, used on a multitude of award-winning records and soundtracks. Due to popular demand, we now make Echo Farm available as an AAX Native plug-in. When will Echo Farm be available and how much will it cost? Echo Farm 3.0 is available now through the Line 6 online store. The standard AAX license costs $199. What are the OS requirements? Mac OS Mountain Lion version 10.8.3 and higher Windows 7 and higher Is there an upgrade path to the AAX version? Yes there is, for registered 2.x TDM owners. The upgrade from 2.x TDM to 3.0 AAX costs $49. Both the 2.x TDM and the 3.0 AAX Echo Farm licenses need to be associated with the same iLok account for the upgrade to work. Will I have to surrender my Echo Farm TDM license when I activate the AAX license? Yes, the TDM license will be surrendered and voided when the AAX license is activated. This is irreversible. Are there any new delay models? Our design goal was to provide 100% session compatibility and ensure that older projects open smoothly in Pro Tools 11 and higher. For this reason, we kept the Echo Farm AAX feature set unchanged from the TDM version. However, the AAX version now supports sampling rates up to 192 kHz, which was not possible with the older TDM version. What are your plans for an AAX DSP version of Echo Farm? We plan to release the plug-in on the AAX Native platform initially and evaluate demand for AAX DSP subsequently. Will Echo Farm AAX work with Pro Tools 10? Echo Farm AAX is a 64-bit plug-in and thus requires Pro Tools 11 or higher to function. What about Amp Farm? Will you port Amp Farm to AAX, too? Absolutely. We plan to make Amp Farm available for the AAX platform after the release of Echo Farm. At this time, we cannot comment on specifics related to pricing or availability.

Hello folks, I hope you can help. I've just swapped my ageing Scarlett 18i8 1st Gen for a 2nd gen one. The old Mix Control is now Focusrite Control and very different. For some reason my Helix volume knob now controls the volume of everything (PC, DAW, Guitar) and so does the Scarlett. This is a pain because when I'm recording into my DAW and I want to up the guitar level with the Helix volume knob it alters the DAW volume too. I'm using Reaper. Helix used to only control my guitar volume. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Apple's new OS Mojave 10.14, has implemented a new security feature that can block input signals if not allowed access. Once a user has launched a DAW or stand alone plugin for the first time after the Mojave update, they will prompted to "allow mic access." If mic access is denied, user will not be able to receive an input via the specified software. To manually approve your software navigate to: System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Microphone From this menu, user will be granted the ability to approve any software that was previously denied. -
Hi All, I am looking for free DAW software and i found Cakewalk from Bandlab and would like to share this tip with you. So far, i think it's the best DAW software available for free. It looks very nice and does an amazing good job ! At home i am using it to record tracks directly from my Helix LT over USB. And it works like a charm. As i am fond of sharing tips and tricks, i wrote a small tutorial for installing and first use of Cakewalk to record directly from the Line 6 Helix (LT) You can find the tutorial here ! Hey guys, Not sure if anyone has experienced this , but every time I have the Helix LT plugged into my computer (USB is plugged in order to use the HX editor, but device is actually running into my Daw through my saffire sound card) the Helix screen freezes and I have to restart it. It is rather annoying and it has meant that I have been unable to use the Helix to record (or just about anything) so any help would be appreciated. Cheers

I have been using my Pod to record in Reaper, but I realized that until now I had been using WASAPI drivers instead of ASIO. My setup is as follows: Guitar into the Guitar In on the Pod, USB on the Pod into the USB on my computer, and headphones into the audio jack of my computer. I am essentially using the Pod as a DI box and reamping with VSTs in Reaper, as such, I don't want the sound of the Pod monitored, but the processed Reaper signal. When I attempt to use the Line 6 ASIO drivers, I cannot figure out how to send the output to my headphones. I have tried ASIO4All as well, and it shows the Pod as unavailable. Is there anything I can do with this setup, or would I need an additional piece of equipment in order to achieve this? Thanks in advance! -
I'm having trouble recording using the Firehawk...I've tried both using the direct connection through USB and using the balanced outputs to a recording interface. I'm using Windows 10 with Ableton software. Ableton recognizes the Firehawk and can configure either as an MME/Direct input or ASIO. The problem I have is that the signal coming out from the Firehawk is WAY too loud. It comes in pretty much clipping even when I'm not playing loudly or when the master volume is low. I use a looper so as I add layers it starts to clip and distort and it just sounds awful. What comes out of the speakers sounds great, so it's nothing to do with the processing on the front end...I just can't figure out how to turn down the signal on the USB or direct outs. I should mention that when I run the direct outs, I have tried turning down the output volume on the interface, so the "volume" coming into Ableton is lower but the actual signal is still clipped. Similarly, I can turn down the individual track volume within Ableton but it doesn't make a difference...it's the original signal that is messed up.

Cakewalk By BandLab Announcement Not sure how many folks used Sonar, but if people are looking for a power DAW to use Native, Cakewalk (now by Bandlab) is free. I don't know what their future plans are as they have to make money somehow, but for those of us that have been using Cakewalk for 25+ years, this is great news. I just wanted to share that Native works well in this new version of Cakewalk.. really well. at least for me. Also, this is NOT a stripped down version. This is the full-blown, top-o-line Platinum version they have released. -
I am using the Helix as an Audio Interface after my 'trusty'!!! A & H Firewire desk no longer wanted to communicate with my DAW. Firstly I cant seem to record from the pc or Internet directly into my daw for some reason,any ideas why?(eg you tube to Cakewalk). Secondly am I able to record from an cassette player (2 ins r and l) as my dad recently passed and im trying to record onto pc his live recordings? Many Thanks.

Does anyone know how the USB works if at all for direct recording from the amp using the USB connection? I am using the Presonus Audio box II and it is connected to my PC win 10, and I have downloaded the updater driver and can see my Firehawk 1500 on the pc in the LINE 6 updater window. However, there is no driver or updates that I know of for the interface so that the amp can communicate with the DAW. Usually, you hook up the amp to the pc or the audio interface, and it will recognize the amp and you are on your way. What am I missing here. I had some other users state that MONKEY line 6 can do this, but it doesn't list firehawk 1500 as a part of its support. Someone please confirm if this is doable or am I wasting my time? All of the other modeling amps can do this, and the amplifi can as well, PLEASE help, thanks! Roland

Hi there, I'm a proud Helix user since a week and after playing an ENGL e606 Ironball head for a long time, I must admit that this awesome piece of a modeler is now a serious competitor... love it! I just wanted to ask if there is a way of signal routing which allows me to: 1. record a rythm loop 2. solo over it and then record both on seperate tracks in my DAW (Logic Pro X / Mixcraft 8). So I want the recorded looper playback on track #1 and my lead playing on track #2. Is that possible? Many thanks in advance :)

Hello, When I launch my Cubase 5 on my mac with El Capitan, I have no audio input or output working with the Helix as usb interface. SInce Helix kinda works with Garage Band (with the beta for developpers 10.11.2 (Build 15C48a)), and since I can use Cubase 5 with a Roland Capture Duo EX USB interface (with and only with the same new 10.11.2 build), I suspect that my issue comes from Cubase 5 or Apple El Capitan which for some reason cannot interface well with Line 6 Helix. So I have 2 questions: @Line 6 : do you have any information regarding using Helix with Cubase on the latest Mac El Capitan OS? @Forum : Are there other people here who manage to use any version of Cubase (say 5 to 8) with the Helix on Mac OSX ? Note: I have noticed the CV jack... but no mention of CV DC Coulpled (OR rather the-AC Coupled) in any document that I have seen. I saw this Modular Synthesizer(I am a (5)Synthesizer owner, myself) Demo, to do with/ their audio interface using Bitwig on their ipad Is there a future Model that will (continue/)be everyone's feature rich, guitar effects processor /and Audio Interface in 1. Molten Modular 09 DC Coupling, CV and DAW control with bitwig 2.1 Good question or not? OR maybe I may be(have missed) missing something here? thanks very much :)

Will "Hardware Monitor Level" setting be ever supported by Spider V ? It was extremely handy to turn "hardware" sound off while using DAW for POD HD 500. Right now I'm unable to turn the cab off on Spider and use IRs in DAW instead.

Hello, Is it possible to control a knob(i.e. Volume) in Cubase using a footswitch (eg Midi CC, Prg Change Increment / Decrement, Bank change Increment / DEcrement)? Like that: push-buttons with minus assignment: e.g. Volume down, push button with increment assignment: Volume louder? Or using default cubase Gitar AMPlifier VST - cycling through Amp Types - QuickControls - Footswitch would scroll through AMpTypes I tried and failed to get it working in Cubase with my new line6 FBV Express. Thank you for any tips (even if the same was achieved with other DAW) -
1. Launch Garage Band, and create an audio track. 2. Go to View -> Open Smart Control Click on the "i" icon on the smart control top bar, then drag the scroll bar to find Audio FX slots. Click on the Audio FX Slot and find Helix Native from Audio Units -> Line 6 -> Helix Native

So I am further down the rabbit hole with the Firehawk FX. Truth be told, I have been following alot of the Pod HD500x and Helix training videos on youtube due to the massive lack of presence the Firehawk seems to have out there in the wild. There is really nothing available on it compared to these other device. One helix video I came across was normalizing patch volumes using your computer DAW/interface. I found it very valuable. You can see that video here: Reading up around the Helix forums as well lead me to realize alot of people use their computer DAW to set patch volumes. The general consensus is, because this is a DIGITAL device (I still have a hard time realizing I have to treat this thing differently than a standard amp, because of digital clipping) is that your patch volumes should hit about -12DB on your input meter with your most authoritative strum - when you whack at your strings the hardest it should peak about -12 db. I run my Firehawk into my Yorkville YX10P with the following consistencies: Output volume (main red rings) = 50% Guitar volume (white red rings) = 54% (or the exact middle of the dial) This seems to be a common practise to keep things consistent across the board. With my guitar input volume right in the middle at 54%, I noticed that basically all my patches as they are currently set were clipping HARD. Amps' that I had set for Channel volume slider at 70% or sometimes 50% had to be brought down generally into the 20-25% channel volume range for the signal to hit that -12DB marker on my DAW. Theoretically then...with alot of the amp volumes down much lower, I can push my Firehawk master output volume (red ring) higher, which from what I am reading online would give me a better signal to noise ratio overall. So that leads me to the following questions regarding 'digital guitar' rigs. Is this normal? For whatever reason it seems like the channel volumes are SO low in this configuration. However there is an interplay here between the guitar input volume (white ring) and the channel volume. If I decrease the guitar input volume, then naturally there is less signal to the Firehawk and therefore the channel volumes would like come up higher to compensate. Would both of these situations sound the same ultimately? Is one better than the other? I assume that having the volumes lower like this WILL reduce digital clipping and probably make my guitar sound better overall. Also, with a much more higher powered FRFR like the Stagesource L2M or something, I would be able to push a louder cleaner signal into it by having the ability to run the overall master volume (red ring) higher. Anybody have any feedback on this? I am new to digital guitar rigs so please bare with me as I try to sort this out with a little help from my friends! Thanks crew :D

Attempting to record some voice-over work with my Helix. Aston Origin/48v. Don't have access to my other audio interfaces as I'm on the road. During recording everything sounds fine(great in fact), but when I playback there are a substantial amount of clicks and pops. Specs: Acer VX-15 i7 7700 16gb RAM Studio One V3 Professional(v3.5) Helix(2.21) Line 6 1.86 Drivers Running Helix into USB3.0 16bit/44.1 Have adjusted buffer from 128-2048 with no difference. Again, during recording the clicks and pops aren't present. Just during playback. I've used this setup with my home desktop with no issues, checked the USB cable and its all good. Am I missing something?? Thanks,

I have owned a Pod XT since shortly after it first became available, It has served me very well, but I know that just like all digital based hardware, its days are limited. Either through hardware failure, or through obsolescence it will at some point be of no use to me. I have honed my tones stored on the XT to match my playing styles and compliment my modest collection of guitars.I am afraid that if I dont take preventative measures, all could be lost. My biggest obstacles are a severely limited budget, and limited space, and that's why the XT was such a good match for me. At first glance, the POD HD500X is the closest relative to the XT, but I do not have the floor space for it. I love how compact the XT is. I can use it on my Desktop through a DAW, take it out to the patio and jam through headphones on nice days, and it even sounds great when I play through a clean amp with the Amp's EQ dialed flat. My main question is, what is the current Tech available through line6 that is the closest to the XT? Anything that bypasses the hardware issue completely? what has changed since the rise of tablet PCs and smartphones that I could use to an advantage? Related Tech question: I play strictly for my own enjoyment. I like to record only when I am 'In the zone' or breaking new ground creatively. Can someone recommend the tools necessary that would provide the quickest/shortest/straightest line from the output jack on my guitar to to a hard disk or recording device? My current recording setup is a nightmare. The inspiration is often long gone by the time I get the cables connected, make sure the Sd cards have room etc.

I cant get a USB-connection going in my DAW when I connect my amplifi tt to my computer via. USB. Thats my problem. It doesn't appear as a device in Reaper at all.. When I plug in my amplifi to my computer via. usb it tells me it fails to install unit drivers? I've had a lot of trouble updating my Amplifi to latest patch and Im not even sure it's done correctly. I tried locating amplifi drivers and updates on my PC, in the hope that I could do it manually, but nope. Line 6 dont have any software for amplifi products available for downloading I guess. Im very frustrated, please help

I have the rack, and controller, and I am still putting it through the courses. I haven't played any guitar through it yet, I am still getting it integrated with my studio. Its looking good so far. But I seem to be running into a brick wall on something. I am wanting to control (automate) from within my DAW (FL Studio) on my pc, some parameters insind the Helix. Specifically I am wanting to control things like Wah position, and amp gain with automation clips from on my PC. I am not able to find which midi CC this would be on in the manual. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.
