  1. I’ve been playing my hd500 almost every single weekend for the best 2 years. I love the thing. It does everything I need. I run it direct to PA with stage sound. I have IEM’s in which I run a direct feed from my board so I can control my mix guitar volume. Actually entire band is on IEMs so there is 0 stage volume minus a bass cab and drums. So here’s where I’m getting at. My main tone is modeled after an EVH high gain tone. I use a two amp combo (boogie model and Marshall model ). I’ve had quite a few sound guys say they love my tone however when I reflect back on videos of us playing I am always disappointed. I always feel that my tone just doesn’t sound “big” enough. I can’t tell this from my iem mix. I know I can’t exactly judge this by a video recording but it still worries me lol. Does anyone have any tips toward achieving a nice full big distortion main tone with an hd500?? Another fear of mine is also “over-doing” it and just muddying up my tone.
  2. Hello, I really don't know what to do. So basically, when I record things, whatever I use, it doesn't matter if I record my voice, or an instrument, or if I use Audacity or other programs... sometimes, the recordings will be slower and lower than the real sound, as if I had pitched them lower. But I didn't, of course. That's just how they turn out to be, without any effect applied. I haven't touched a single thing in the settings. The device has always worked, I've always loved the results, and I've been using it for years now. The odd thing? Yesterday, within the time span of ten minutes. I recorded on the same track many times. I didn't go back to listen while recording: for ten minutes I just pressed record, stop, save, record, stop, save, and of course I didn't touch the settings. When I sat down and checked the recordings, a few recordings were just fine, and others were slow and pitched (and no, I hadn't applied any effects yet). So I guess, the problem isn't the program, and it's not the settings. I really, really need everything to work, I have so much work to do. If you have any clue what might be wrong, please help. PS: the other weird thing that comes to my mind, is that Windows has recently released a version update (and my computer got stuck while updating, btw, I had to ask for assistance, but everything turned out to be fine and the computer successfully completed the update) I'm using Windows 10, Line6 Tone Direct, with POD Farm 2, and the programs I used are Magix Music Maker Rock Edition 3, and Audacity. Thanks for reading and I hope someone can help!
  3. My setup: JTV59 -> VDI -> HD500 -> l6link -> l2m I gig occasionally and my L2m is not used that often and when transported it is carefully carried and placed in the boot of a car and it has a protective padded cover. I have had the l2m for 2+ years now and not had any issues with it other than the well documented vibration problem when I first got it which was fixed under warranty. The problem: The last two times I have taken the L2m out to a gig and a rehearsal, and connected it up as shown above, when I first play a chord on my JTV59 using a patch on my HD500 for a clean guitar sound, I get the guitar sound plus a distorted fuzzy sound which sounds like the l2m speaker has blown or is about to die. I then switched the l2m off - and only the l2m, leaving the HD500 still plugged in and connected and the JTV59 connected to the HD500 - and when I switched the l2m back on it had cleared the problem and I was getting the expected clear sound from that patch. Also at this point I haven't proved beyond doubt that it is the L2m at fault but I do know that switching if off and on does resolve the problem so it does point towards the L2m being the issue. This has now happened twice. I will test it some more over the weekend but meanwhile I wanted to ask whether anyone else has had this problem or a similar problem? And whether or not they resolved it or if it got worse and had to be sent off for repair? Thanks
  4. Hey there Please can anybody help me? I was always using my POD HD 500 normally with USB and Reaper and everything, but today I'm having this issue: when POD is not plugged in the PC I can hear my guitar normally through Unbalanced Output and headphones, but when I plug it into my PC, sounds goes off in those outputs. I can hear PC's sounds normally, and Reaper is getting signal from it, but very distorted. If I unplug the USB, the sound comes back (despite my PC gets a blue screen, but I've had this issue before when unplugging the USB, and no problems with sound). My PC is a Sony Vaio VGN-FW460J with Windows 10, not sure if it's a problem with it tho. I'm hoping this is not a big issue, I'm depending a lot of my POD for these days!! Any help is welcome, thanks!
  5. Hi guys, I have a TonePort Ux1 and for too much time I got a problem. So, I aways record my guitar in a RAW perfectly when I use a amp (plugged in Phones line) to execute the sound. But when I plug my Headphone (I tested several head phones and adapters and always with the same problem) it sounds distorted and often it works in just one side of the phones I tested. I tried everything and didn't get any solution. The Ux1 really don't work with adapters converters? I want too much play and mix hearning the sound on headphones but I cant. Any solution?
  6. My guitar sounds fine going into Ableton live 9 via USB. However on playback it is distorted. I can see where the signal seems to be blowing it out, but no matter what i try it seems to do it. I turn my send down, i have the pod set to studio mode, i turn the volume down on the pod itself via the volume nob and no good. Ideas? This is driving me nuts.
  7. Hey everyone, I've had my POD HD500X for just over a year now, and until now, I've been really happy with it. The problem is, over the last week or so all my clean and distorted, direct/studio AND straight-to-amp patches all have a horrible fizzy sound to them. It sounds like digital clipping, but I've gain-staged all my patches well and set up my inputs and outputs how they're supposed to be. I just updated the latest Firmware as of today (The one that fixed the tuner problem), but there is still no change. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you manage to get it fixed? Thanks in advance!
  8. Sound Sample Below https://soundcloud.com/haeya/help Hi, This is my first time recording with an audio interface and I'm finding it very stressful.... I was struggling with this problem for the whole day!!! please help :( when I play and record guitar in clean channel, it turns out to be really distorted.. (Sound Sample Above) I tried to find out what's wrong... but I have no idea. I found out that when I play, the dB level needle shoots to the maximum point. I tried to lower the output, but it's the same whether the output is 0 or max. Is this normal? What's the purpose of the output knob? Also, after playing a note/chord for a second, the needle drops down again, so the recording cuts off quickly. No sustain. When I play a note lightly, it doesn't even catch it. I am really frustrated. I doubt(try not to believe) that my UX2 is broken because this was in "like new" condition in an open box; the previous owner never used it. But still, could this be a mismanufactured product? the dB measuring and the output levels... are just so weird! Really tired and lost.. Please help! :( I would really appreciate it.. Thank you
  9. Hello, since updating to the last drivers and last OSX I have a big problem: All my inputs are recorded DISTORTED. Also even if I just open PodFarm and play acoustic guitar it distorted. The same happening to vocals and all sort of stuff I plug in the UX2. Any help? Cheers Miro Vaz
  10. I'm using OSX and an HD500X upgraded to the latest firmware. When using garageband with the HD500X connected via USB, the sound quality is terrible. It is distorted badly compared to plugging headphones directly into the HD500X. I've lowered the OS X input level in system utilities to make sure I'm not clipping. I'm using garageband for monitoring and master and track levels are correct. I've also made sure I'm using a "real instrument" and not adding anything to the audio. So checked all the obvious stuff. I owned an HD500 before the 500X and there was a known issue with audio via USB where it was unusable because of noise on the input. Something about a chipset conflict or incompatibility. I ended up having to use analog out from the HD500. So I'm wondering if this is the same issue with the HD500X that is still unresolved? Anyone else having this same issue or have any insights to share? Thanks, Mark.
