  1. Hi all, I'm currently trying to build a rig with both my trusty POD HD Pro X and my new EVH 5150-III. Currently I'm using the POD direct to FOH and patch changes are taken care off by Cubase through the MIDI connections. As the 50W 5150 is also MIDI compatible I figured to design a rig with the POD to FOH and the 5150 for stage sound. Now I was wondering whether it's OK or not to connect the "dry out" on the back of the POD to the regular guitar input of the 5150? I know a little bit about impedances and line volumes, but not enough to judge whether solution would damage the tube amp. Who can help me? :) Thanks in advance!
  2. So today I discovered that the "Dry-Out" output on my POD HD PRO X doesn't work when I'm connected through Variax input. If I plug-in through the front "Guitar" input it'll work just fine. Am I missing something here? perhaps some configuration in the menus that will allow me to mirror Variax dry input straight to the "dry-out" output on the back of my POD HD PRO X? I'm hoping to use this output aside from both the L-R outputs for a live setting. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  3. I have seen some posts on the dry out and re-amping with the HD Pro. My goal is to save on studio time and do the DI's at home so we can reamp at the studio later. Has anyone compared the dry out vs. a DI or Reamp box? Are the recordings you get from the dry out as good, better, or worse than if I was to grab a reamp box? Thanks
  4. I know there's a few topics already on this sort of thing but I am the ultimate n00bie when it comes to this. I was wondering how to go about recording with my HD Pro via my UX2 into my DAW, YES I realise you can record direct with the HD Pro connected via usb to the computer but I heard that you can't re-amp/change tones on the fly once the track is recorded. Here's what I tried POD HD PRO -> (14")OUTPUTS L & R -> UX2 INPUTS L & R - > UX2 -> COMPUTER(via USB) I know I'm clearly doing something majorly wrong here so any advice would be very much appreciated. I'd also like to know if you can open HD Pro Edit in your DAW or simply have to have it open outside of the DAW to record. I know these are probably otherwise stupid questions but forgive me, I'm used to recording with the simplistic luxuries of pod farm. ALSO Is there a way to record both dry and wet signals(simultaneously of course) in your DAW(mine is mixcraft 6.... I know) without connecting the HD Pro via an interface?
  5. I just got a korg pitchblack rack tuner. the dry out on the Pod HD pro is not sending any signal to it. If i plug the same cable into the pod's headphone jack the tuner works fine, so the tuner is fine, but nothing coming from the dry out. I have the pod HD in studio mode and am running the line outs into a stereo power amp, so both line outs are taken. I also tried the FX send with no luck (don't want to put FX loop in all my patches anyway). How does one get the dry out sending a signal? Cant find anything in the setup menu for it
  6. I have a Pod hd pro and i'm trying to record the dry output but it's not working can someone please help? I have my guitar plugged into the dry output and the pod is connected to my laptop by usb and in my daw there is no sound or signal.
  7. Hello. collegues, I just wonder if setup like this is safe from electrical point of view. I just want to tweak a little bit the knobs, compare the sounds. Also this will allow to have several purpose setup at the same time: You can play and record using POD HD Pro sound, You can reamp from PC, You can play and record using all external hardware. Thank you!

    Bypass

I have a bypass, setting always at 85%. Does anyone know what this means and how I can bypass to get a dry signal? Thanks.

    Dry Out Signal

My plan is to record a DI track and then play the signal through a reamper box and reamp it through my Engl head and cabinet and use a microphone to capture the sound again. I'm thinking of using the "dry out" in POD HD Pro to record the DI track. Do I need to place a preamp after the dry out signal? or is it already at line level and can be connected directly to my M-audio Audiophile 192 interface TRS input? I would really appreciate some opinions on this matter. Thank you !
