  1. Hi, I have the following gear at my disposal : Laney IRT Studio Tube amp with matching cab, 2 Adam studio monitors and the Helix lt. I only play at home, no gigs... just for fun. What I would like to achieve.... Using my Irt Studio in a 4 cm - using the Irt preamp and I would like to switch from time to time to the Helix preamps or amps (without cabs, as mine is pretty ok). I managed to do this by watching the vids from Richie Castellano and J Sadites - each of them with there own interpretation of the 4 cm. Very interesting vids by the way. So far so good.... I also have 2 Adam studio monitors with XLR. There are also a lot of vids on YT how to set up a routing for wet dry wet... but most of them with 3 FRFR speakers. I am looking for a solution: Laney IRT for the dry signal and the Adam monitors for the wet stereo signal. What is the best way to set this up. I don't go FOH... just the mentionned gear. All info is welcome!!! Gr from Belgium... Peter
  2. Hey all, I was watching a few videos on the Gigrig Wetter Box yesterday and wondered if it was possible to set up a similar setup in the Helix. It's easy to create a split paths with a dry tone and a wet tone, and set a static mix for those in the mixer block when they come back together...but what I want to do is to use the expression pedal to set that mix. So when the pedal is all the way back the tone is 100% dry, and when it's all the way forward it's 100% wet. I'm sure the answer is quite obvious, but I haven't found it in my searches (here or the web in general). Can anyone offer any advice on how to make that work? The mixer block just gives me gain levels for A and B, but not a mix between A and B. When I tried doing it with the gain levels everything was mixed but quiet and anemic in the middle of the pedal position, but correct (either full wet or full dry) on either end. Thanks!
  3. Good morning to the whole community. I am a happy owner of HX Stomp that I use with satisfaction as a pedal unit. Recently I entered the world of digital recording with Pro Tools HD 12 to self-produce (or at least, to try) some of my songs. Last night I tried to download the demo version of Helix Native to test it on my DAW and decide whether to buy it or not. The program recognizes it, I can load a stereo audio track and open Helix Native but what I hear is just a dry signal with no effect :( I state that I'm pretty ignorant of the audio recording so I'm probably doing something wrong. My hardware / software: - Pro Tools HD 12 64bit; - Windows 10 64 bit; - Helix Native Trial; - Focusrite 2i2 2nd; What I do is just connect my guitar to the first input of the sound card (INST) and play. Do you have any advice? What am I doing wrong? Is there any particular setting? Thank you! P.S: HX Stomp works perfectly (also as an audio interface) but Helix Native would be easier. P.P.S: sorry for my english :)
  4. Hi there, I bought a Helix about 10 months ago but never got around to using it. My normal gigging and studio rig was/is Mesa Boogie JP2C with a 1x12 Mesa Cab and my pedal board. Nothing crazy. I usually just mic that up and it's done the job perfectly. Guitar is an Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty. The three channels in the JP2C was/is more than enough for me. I've however decided that I wanted to actually make use of my Helix for three reasons. 1) Portability 2) more advance routing without spending more money 3) Modelling has become so good. So, here is my question. I believe the answer is yes, but I am so new to this thing that I might be missing something. What I want to do is have the following Majesty Stereo output with Piezo and Mag through a TRS cable Peizo > Helix Aux In> Whatever cab, effects I want to run> Out to FOH ( MONO or Stereo or WDW..whatever is possible) Mag > Helix Guitar In > into a W D W signal path separate from Peizo > 3 outs to FOH ( Mono for Dry, L/R for wet) Is this possible to within the Helix internally? I've googled and searched to forums but anything I've seen is either 2+ years old, or simply hasn't received any concrete answers. I don't want to leave both the Peizo and Mag on at all times on the guitar, but switch between the two ( this was something someone else was doing from what I read). If it is possible, How do I go about this? Any videos? I've seen the Richie Castenallo vids and many others on YouTube but I don't think I've come across anything this specific. I want to set this up for purely FOH purposes. Sorry for wall of text and please delete if this is in the wrong place or off topic. Thanks!
  5. Hi there! Here's what I'm trying to do: 1) Create a clean signal that will play straight through, center pan. Easy. 2) Take the same signal and run it panned hard left through a delay and pitch transposer where the wet only signal plays 260ms AFTER the original signal, dropped -7th via pitch but no original note, only the -7th, panned hard left. 3) Using the same original signal, run it panned hard right through a delay and pitch transposer where the wet only signal plays 520ms AFTER the original signal, raised +5th via pitch but neither the original signal nor the left dropped 7th coming through. Center, then hard left dropped a 7th, then hard right raised a 5th. Three notes, not overlapped. Center, left, right. This is day one with my new POD HD PRO X. Thank you!
  6. Hi, I am hoping someone can help me. I was bought a UX2 for Chrismas which I am now using as my interface when recording in to the DAW (I use reaper). Pod Farm 2 works fine as a stand alone program as in I can hear it and modify tones etc... I have managed to record the wet and dry tones into reaper but when I come to add Pod Farm as a plug in effect to the dry track I encounter problems. I can select Pod Farm 2 as the plugin and it opens the User Interface but there is no input signal showing in Pod Farm. I can hear the dry guitar signal playing back but there is no input showing on the meter in the plugin and no matter what presets I select no effect is added. Ideally I want to record dry tracks and add/tweak effects later so am eager to work out how to add these effects to a dry guitar track. What am I doing wrong? Is something routed incorrectly in either PodFarm or Reaper? Can someone help?
  7. Hello, anyboy have any luck recording a HELIX wet and dry signal on seperate tracks similtaniously in Reaper? I'm trying to get a dry siginal recording In Reaper via USB 7-8 but for the life of me can find how to select USB 7-8 in Reaper...
  8. Hi, I've been having this issue ever since I started using the ux1 and podFarm, which was about a day ago so it might be that I'm just a newbie on the subject. But even reading through a lot of the threads of this forum I haven't managed quite to solve this. I'm running Pod Farm 2.5 on windows 8.1 using Reaper as my Daw. From what I've gathered here, I'm supposed to set on the mixer viewer the send options to either dry or tone, depending on which ones ill be using for recording. Thing is that, even by setting both on Tone A, and recording on Reaper by selecting either setereo 1-2, or 3-4, or even mono on any of the four, I'm still hearing the dry signal getting through the wet. And I'm not managing to fix this by myself. I muted the send signals, to try and see if maybe somehow I'm recording through two devices simultaneousy. But when recording I got nothing. So my guess would be that somehow Pod Farm is really eager to get that dry signal out, or I'm missing something with the setup. The device on reaper is correctly selected, I am using the Asio audio system, with the Asio Ux1 driver. I do have the first option selected on send one and the last one on send four. Pre-posting edit: I've also tried listening the device with the windows audio options, and I'm getting the wet signal from PodFarm as well as with the dry signal from here too. If I mute the send signals, the whole audio cuts off not just the amplified signal. Thanks in advance
  9. Can some of you fine people help me out please? I'm a big fan of Devin Townsend, not so much a fan of trying to work out creating tones on the app! I'm looking for 3 tones - a wet clean, main rhythm guitar, and that huge wet lead tone. I know he was using Mesa amps originally but he seems to be using the AxeFXII and Kemper profiling stuff now. I can only find 2 tones on the amplifi cloud thing, so if any of you fancy putting a couple of tones together and uploading them, that would be great ;) or maybe even giving me a few hints and tips on some settings (amp/delay/reverb). I suppose I need to start trying to put these things together myself at some point!!! Cheers.
  10. Hello, i have a problem with dry signal recording with podhd500. I use podhd500 as audio interface, i record my dry guitar tone by disable all processes in podhd500 and by switch to tunner mode. After hear 2 sound demo, i find that dry tone by "tunner mode" sound more cleaner than by "disable all processes". I wonder which is really dry signal... Or anyone can show me a good way to record dry signal with podhd500 as audio interface?
  11. Dears, I have tried in the shop in HKG the HD PRO and it's the last piece available. I'm an happy user of the HD400 and I would like to ask a few questions before making the purchase. I'm in a hurry because if they sell the last one I need to wait 3 months....and I can't. I'm looking to a solution to have a quick way for dry and wet rec. these are the questions or better saying what I want to try to do: 1) first I need to say I'm using a MacBook Pro with Logicpro. 2) I would like to record in the same time using USB two separate tracks one with dry guitar sound and the other with wet (effected sound) 3) once the recording is done I would like to being able to keep changing the wet settings/effect (e.g. Distortion/reverb/delay etc...). I'm doing this now with the effects in the Logicpro effects, but I like only the POD sound via USB and I'd like to confirm if with the POD Hd Pro I can do it real time, e.g. I play the recorded guitar on logic pro (not sure if the wet or the dry track) and adjust the effects manually on the POd HD pro until I finalize the setting and effect I like. 4)some people at the store said its possible also with HD 400 but with some limitation...well which limitations? As you can understand from above question I need something easy and quick, and I need to be sure before purchasing. 5) im not using any Audio/interface, I connect the USB directly to the MacBook Pro do I need any interface to do what I asked above 6) last question, what is the other advantage to pass from Hd400 to HD pro? If this is not the right approach to do it, please feel free to suggest other ideas, ;) Sorry for the long message, I'm using a new account cause the last one apparently can't send anymore message. P.s. if you want to hear my rec. just search me on the social net.... I hope this is not spam hahah I love you for making such beautiful effect! Cheers Gio
  12. Q: I can only hear the delay. I cannot hear the original, dry notes. I've reset the factory presets, and nothing seems to work. A: It sounds like you're in Mix Mode "Loop". To solve that please do the following: 1. Press MIDI/Sys 2. Turn the Program knob until the Display shows "MX" 3. Turn the Time knob until the display shows "PROG" That should allow you to set the dry/wet ratio on each individual program. If you picked the unit up used, you might also want to download a copy of the EchoPro Manual for future reference. Q: How does the loop sampler work? A: The Echo Pro features a Loop Sampler model with 60 seconds of loop time in normal mode and 2 minutes of loop time at Half-Speed. Note on DRIFT: There is no midi clock sync between two Echo Pro units in loop mode. There will be some drift between the loops if they are playing indefinitely. If they only play for a short time there should not be too much of a sync problem without the Midi clock sync. We have not run a test and found out exactly how long it would take for the loops to fall out of sync. However a good estimate would be somewhere in the range of 3-4 minutes before you notice some difference in clock rates between the two loops.
