  1. Hi all - just wanted to share something i noticed after the 3.5 update: if a midi program assignment is done while the helix (LT in my case) is connected and HD edit is open, it does not save. In my case i needed instant messages to switch my amp channel with snapshot changes. The only way to do it and for it to save is directly in the helix with HD edit closed. Otherwise it goes away as soon as you close command center.
  2. I think that title says it all, but I have some specific ideas on how and why it might currently benefit Line6 to do this. My brother works in a similar hardware/software environment and said it would be super easy. Users just have to be willing to make it worth their while. Please, for your first post, vote “YES” or “NO.” Then, post again, so it will be easy to tally the vote.
  3. I use Pod Go Edit v1.3 to save (Export) files to disk. Since the most recent HW and SW upgrade I've experiences the following problems. When I export my preset to disk and later load it, changes are not being saved. However, if I save the preset to Pod Go internal memory and then Export it, I can recall it later with no problems. I've been doing this for years way back to the days of GearBox. Anyone else having similar problems. Second difficulty is in previous versions of Pod Go Edit, if a change was made to a preset, the Preset Name would be ITALICIZED to denote that a change has been made and suggest that you might want to Save the change - in case you forgot. I made a quick video to illustrate that both problems exist [ https://youtu.be/6HqgO1J1twU ]. Anyone else having similar problems?
  4. How do I access the Catalyst Edit Software? Go to Line6.com, and click on the "Downloads" tab. Select your Catalyst amp model from the Hardware dropdown, then select "Catalyst Edit” from the Software dropdown, and select your operating system/hardware (i.e. Windows 10, Mac OS, iOS, Android). What devices can I use the Catalyst Edit on? Catalyst Edit was designed to work on Quad Platform Architecture (QPA), meaning it can be used on Windows desktop or full-fledged laptop Computers, Mac computers, i-Phone/i-Pad devices, and Android phones and tablets. System requirements - MacOS 10.14 or newer, Windows 7 or newer, iOS (iPhone/iPad) 12.1 or newer, or Android™ OS 6.0 or newer. For optimal USB audio performance on Windows computers, download and install the free Line 6 CATALYST ASIO driver from line6.com/software. USB Host Mode differs on many devices, so Catalyst Edit may not be compatible on all Android devices. How can I determine which version of the Catalyst Firmware I have on my amp? Make sure you have downloaded the most recent version of "LIne6 Updater". Connect your Catalyst amp to a computer/device via USB, and open the Updater. Your amplifier should be displayed, and the Firmware version indicated as below: What does Catalyst Edit Allow me to do? Catalyst Edit is designed to allow additional adjustments to: your amp settings (Gain, EQ, etc) deep amp parameters like HUM, BIAS, and SAG activate the Noise gate apply a cab simulator, along with specific microphone and placement, to the Direct Outputs (XLR and USB) select and adjust the EFFECT settings select and adjust REVERB settings These settings can then be saved directly to your amplifier in one of twelve "preset" locations (6 Banks of Channels A & B) , or to a separate file location on your device.
  5. from the download menu - if you select HX Edit to download and windows 10 you get the MAC version. .DMG file. Not windows. I downloaded the windows 7 version to get an EXE file. Please fix Line 6.
  6. Hey everyone! Long time HD Pro user and fan here. So this unit has now been retired to a specific project I'm part of and I was wondering if it's possible to rename banks using the edit software? (Not just the individual patches/presets or the setlist, but the numbered bank that is made up of 4 patches). By default these are assigned number but the act I'm part of now is very FX heavy so it would be great to customize and dedicate a bank of 4 presets to a specific song and have that also show up on my mk2 floorboard for live shows. Anyone who can answer this will be rewarded with a crisp digital high 5 from yours truly! Thanks in advance!
  7. Hello all, Does anyone know if there is a MIDI CC code to mimic a push on view button of the HX stomp ? Thanks
  8. Hi guys... Firstly, the problem I am having has only happened since I updated to Helix 3.0. So - when I load a new preset and go to snapshot mode, as soon as I press a footswitch for an alternative snapshot, I get the small 'E' icon which suggests I have edited something. any further switching of snapshots doesn't help and the snapshots do not default back to the original settings. Yet, when I go out of the preset and come back into it and go back into snapshot mode again, the 'E' has gone but returns as soon as I hit a footswitch. I have seen other users are experiencing the same issue. Please help with this problem - Thanks
  9. Let's say I bind activate Distortion and change the min/max value of some parameter. Is there any way I can simulate a footswitch press on the Go from PG Edit? Ex: When I click on FS1 button on the "Hide/bypass control" window, it just assigns/resets whatever setting I just changed, (ex; if level was assigned, it'll reset its min to -120dB and max to +20dB) but it doesn't do anything for the current settings; it doesn't turn on/off the distortion and doesn't change the min/max values... So short of getting up, walking 2 meters to POD Go and hitting the footswitch FS1 manually, you can't simulate a footswitch on or off!? Rather annoying that apparently you just can't......
  10. If Helix Native / HX Edit crashes or loads with an empty screen on your Windows computer, check to see that your system drive is assigned to Disk 0. We have seen numerous reports of this working for customers running into this problem, as shown in this forum post: https://line6.com/support/topic/49342-hx-edit-281-and-helix-native-starting-with-with-a-blank-screen-and-crash/?do=findComment&comment=330021 The workaround was found and reported by user Camelot_One, and his post goes into detail on checking your drives and ways to rearrange them so that one of them shows as Disk 0. Microsoft Surface Book/Surface Pro users and HX Edit: Some users have reported that ejecting their internal memory card slot on the Surface book/Surface Pro has helped solve this issue. If HX Edit is having trouble opening, it's a possible work-around.
  11. Greetings friends. I have had this little unit for about a week now and am almost done learning all of the tricks and possibilities it has and can do and am loving it. I'm surprised how well done the interface and usability is with this thing. They weren't kidding when advertising it as 'Ridiculously easy to use'. However I noticed some room for improvement regarding the footswitches in stomp mode. To cut right to the chase - I'd love to be able to edit and change the color of the 'footswitch LED'/'stompbox in the LCD' as well as have the option to rename the block to whatever I desire Why you might ask? Well if you assign and merge a few blocks into one switch it just reads 'MULTIPLE (2)' or whatever number of stompboxes or parameters you assign to that footswitch. The color also becomes white. While it's all fine and dandy with one, what if I'd want to do that with all six footswitches? Then I'd have six almost identical looking switches. And what if I do that with all of the available presets? It would be quite difficult to remember what is where after a while. A combination of a color and some text would make life a lot easier. This is not a rant or anything, the unit is quite versatile as it is and this isn't a huge issue, It's just my two cents which might be interesting to a lot of other people as well. So regardless of the possibility of Line6 implementing something like that with a firmware update in some distant future, the point of this topic is this: How do I even get this idea to their developer team for at least a consideration?
  12. Is there a version of Edit past 3.06 with support for Mojave OS X 10.14? The 3.06 download says that it's added support for Yosemite, which isn't surprising since that Edit version was released in November '14. Just based on these facts, it seems like a pretty safe bet that 3.06 was the last update. I figured it that I should ask anyways. I can still run Edit and it works with my POD XT, but it made me install Java 6 Runtime before it would open.. now every time I hit a key on the keyboard Edit spits out a Java error. The key strokes work, like when I'm typing into a field, but I have to click out of the error window after every letter! It's a total pain in the lollipop. Maybe it's time to invest in a more current amp simulator?!!?
  13. Is anyone else having an error when clicking the link to download Pod Go Edit? I cannot access the one listed in the Downloads section - https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9622. I have tried on two separate Macbooks and am redirected to a site that says "We're sorry. We encountered an error processing your request."
  14. I've had this LIne 6 Spider Valve mkii HD100 for about 8 years and I love it. However, I've recently gotten back into playing again and I've been looking for the software to be able to edit the presets in the FBV shortboard mkii I'm using in conjunction with the Spider Valve. I'm having an issue finding the software on the line 6 website to be able to edit these presets from my laptop. I'm not sure if it simply doesn't exist any longer or if I am mistaken and simply can't seem to locate it. I currently have the monkey 3 installer and it looks like everything is up to date, other than the controller. However, when I attempt to update it, it prompts me to the Line 6 website base and tells me there is no software for this device. Any and all info would be useful. Thanks!
  15. Is there a way to show pedalboard mode in helix edit? I would like to be able to toggle between edit mode and an overview of the pedalboard the way it would be laid out. Is it there and i, just not seeing it?
  16. I recently bought a used POD HD300 and I use the POD HD300 Edit software on OSX High Sierra with no problem. There is however an OSX update to Mojave and I do not know if I updated the OS would the POD HD300 Edit still work. Mojave is not mentioned in the supported OS list of the latest 2.03 (10/14/14) version of the Edit software. Is there anyone who has OSX Mojave with a usable POD HD300 Edit out there?
  17. Hello, I'm new here. I was hoping to get some help with my Helix Native install and Helix Floor pedal. I just discovered HX Edit this afternoon and very much enjoyed how both the pedal and the software are synced. I was surprised and disappointed to find that this same configuration didn't port over to Helix Native on launch. I came from a Guitar Rig setup where the pedal could navigate and interact with the plugin. I didn't put much effort into that pedal, so I was kind of expecting the same results. Can anyone tell me how make Helix Native sync up like HX Edit does in FL Studio with my Helix Floor pedal? Thank you kindly for your help!
  18. I'm having connection problems with my POD XT; my computer isn't recognizing that it's plugged in. It doesn't happen 100% of the time (maybe 50/50), but often enough to be a major pain in my lollipop. I've tried multiple different USB cables, all the USB ports on my computer, reboots, etc. The only times I've been able to get it recognized is when I turn off the POD, shutdown the computer, turn on the POD and then turn on the computer. This only works around 60-70% of the time. I attached a screenshot of the error message window that pops up in the Edit Software. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  19. I was hoping that I could use PowerCab edit through the L6 Link from my Helix. I have the USB connection to the Helix and have limited usb ports available. Is it possible to connect to the PowerCab with the Edit software through the Helix? Ideally, I'd have the HX Edit and PowerCab Edit on one machine and one USB connection.
  20. So I just got myself a Helix rack and I downloaded the HX Edit software to start messing without having to put my entire rack on the table. But when I open the HX Edit it only lets me access the Preset and Impulse Response, none of the actual preset stuff as you can see in the picture. Am I missing something? Every time I look up the app online I see people using the app with preset editing section. I've looked all over the Line 6 website and google and I can't find anything on this. Help?
  21. Suggestion 1: A view which displays ALL Stomps + Snapshots As it is, it's much easier to edit on the unit itself. There are things that an app can do much better than a real hardware unit and vice a versa. Currently HELIX Editor isn't there yet. One of the current hassles is being able to view the settings for only ONE stomp or snapshot assignment at any one time. What would really help is if there was a view mode where the most salient information for EVERY pedal, and/or Snapshot was displayed all at once - at a glance. Since there is so much potential info that could be viewed ( and edited ) maybe some kinds of filter options or preferences would be needed in order to only show in this view the most salient information required. For example sometimes I need to be viewing and editing just the MIDI Controller settings for any pedal, another time all the effects bypass settings and another time the snapshots. There is SO much more potential GUI-wise for making HELIX HX Edit a fine and extremely productive tool for doing major work on HELIX - and at the moment as many have said it really IS currently much easier to edit on the actual unit itself. But as pleasant and cool as that is - there are many times when I want to be editing via HELIX Edit - and am away from the HELIX itself - even in another room - working remotely onto the HELIX via a computer over Wi fi even - and the app comes into its own. And given current limitations workflow-wise concerning MIDI Control aspects it would be really helpful of HX Edit came to the rescue. Surely one of the major things any music-making tool ought to strive at is improving the workflow of anything involving heavily used gear. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-Editor-A-view-which-displays-ALL-Stomps-+-Snapshots/926664-23508#idea-tab-comments "add Option to show ALL setlists at same time": https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-Editor-Option-to-show-ALL-setlists-at-same-time/816921-23508#idea-tab-comments "Show Snapshots as 8 separate buttons not dropdown" https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-Editor-Show-Snapshots-as-8-separate-buttons-not-dropdown/864575-23508#idea-tab-comments View TWO presets at same time ( for copying or comparing settings etc... ) https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-Editor-View-TWO-presets-at-same-time/820657-23508#idea-tab-comments
  22. Is there any way to add effects blocks to the signal chain for a profile on Firehawk FX? For example, I have an external compressor so I don't plan on assigning the Firehawk compressor to a foot switch. I was hoping I could add another effect in place of it (and in addition to the 3 completely assignable blocks). Right now I just have an unused footswitch because of this and would like to add an effect block and assign it to that switch if possible. As far as I know this cannot be done, but possibly functionality that could be added?
  23. Hello everyone! I am wondering, if there is a way to use usb-interface while editing my patches in pod hd. Please, take a look on the scheme I drew: https://2.downloader.disk.yandex.ru/preview/d5273195fd5c327879d31dc73dd54ca87673a70ce179525cba8f0271ed650d34/inf/TBwbN1hIDpW1khBkar4de-IFiC4WnK6FcoTIEK6bD5Q5fXm9B-fDG1cFLLJN5lx8lC1mHcivs-ZJVtKMFE8eXw%3D%3D?uid=33198966&filename=scheme.png&disposition=inline&hash=&limit=0&content_type=image%2Fpng&tknv=v2&size=1280x776 I want my pc apps not to use POD as soundcard except POD's editing software. So my scenario is simple. I want to play a guitar while playing some songs in any player app. I can edit patches to create a sound I like. But for master volume control I use my usb-interface (just because it stands on the desk, it is more comfortable than to bend to the floor where POD is). When I'm done playing, I just turn the POD off and continue browsing/playinggames/watchingporn using usb-interface. So, again, I need to connect POD's USB to PC only for editing patches, while all the playback is performed by usb-interface. Sorry for my english and my explanation. If there is any simpler solution, I would be glad to hear it. Thank you!
  24. I wonder if it could be possible to connect some midi controller like the Behringer BCR2000 to my HD500X. The idea is to really get my hands on the effects (or at least the most commonly used ones) so that I could edit the effects parameters directly from the external controller. For instance, it would be nice to have a specific knob from the external controller to manage the amp drive (and other ones for each eq parameter) so that, independently of the current program I am in, it could be possible to make slight adjustments straightforwardly from those external controller's knobs.
  25. Hello, all. Some Spider V customers have expressed that they were expecting a Mac/PC editor because the amp includes a USB port, and that the manual’s wording on item (17) in the Rear Panel Connections section adds to the confusion: MAC/PC/ANDROID USB B Port – Connect a Mac/PC or Android device (with OTG adapter) to edit tones, update, playback and record audio. Future releases of the manual will revise this wording to read: MAC/PC/ANDROID USB B Port – Connect a Mac/PC (update; playback/record audio) or Android device with OTG adapter (edit tones; update; playback/record audio). As it stands, there is no Mac/PC editor, but we are aware of the request for one. At this time, we cannot divulge if or when one will be released. We apologize for any misunderstandings. As always, you are encouraged to voice your opinion at line6.ideascale.com, where ideas are voted on and consistently reviewed by our Product Managers.
