  1. I have two stereo effects units and a few drive pedals that I want to use in Helix signal chains. I can combine the drive units into one mono block using a Voodoo Lab Hex switcher , but that still leaves me needing an extra mono loop (the four efx send/returns will be used by the two stereo effects). I know I could put the mono drive block before the Helix, but that doesn't allow fitting inside a chain and/or using with my Variax VDI. Any idea the best way to get an extra effects loop? -mark
  2. 10 Launch Sonar, go to 'Edit -> Preferences -> File -> VST Settings' 2) Make sure the correct location is added to the VST Scan Paths. The Location of plug-ins files depend on your setting during installation. The default location is 64 bits - C:\Program Files\VstPlugins 3) If the steps above are not working, try the scan button in the Scan options to re-scan the target folders.
  3. Ok, I know that there have been multiple topics on this, but none I have found pertained to my specific situation. I'm certain that I am running out of DSP way too quickly. I'm currently setting up a preset with 1 volume pedal, 1 compressor, 1 wah, 1 cab + amp, and 1 amp and IR. I'm already getting effects grayed out. I can add some modulation and delay effects, but reverb is totally grayed out, among some other things. I have signal path one set to run to signal path 2, so I should have the full DSP power available to me. What am I missing here? Is something wrong? I've encountered this before and after updating to v2.50 and performing a factory reset. Thank You!
  4. Can you assign cc's to specific effects in the Pod HD Pro X? I'm trying to set up a Behringer FCB1010 with the eurekaprom 3 chip installed. No problems with changing patches, but I can't figure out how to toggle effects off and on in effects mode.
  5. So I see that the HX effects can be set to bypass mode by holding the tap/mode button at the same time. I purchased one and am excited to get this hooked up to my small pedal board My question is can you set this up to be pre-programmed on a per preset or even per snapshot level? Or is this only available as a manual function. I'm planning on integrating this with a few different pedals with midi function(chase bliss/eventide) and was hoping when I am not using the HX effects than it would not affect the signal at all. Because I there is only 2 effects loops I unfortunately have to set this up in a chain instead of all through HX effects. Thanks in advanced!
  6. so i need help i have tried standard inputs, 4 cable methods, using the my amp's poweramp. using the helix's modeled amp and cabinets and nothing seems to work all my sounds are pretty much horrible i am not blaming the helix i have seen countless videos where people come up with amazing tones, and there are many customer reviews about how good the product is, so i am thinking i am the problem. can someone just guide me into getting a decent tone ? what am i doing wrong here ! should i buy FRFR amp/speakers? anything helps because as of now i am completely out of ideas thanks

  13. What are the most economical POD units I should consider that will automatically sense what JTV model I am using and automatically apply the best sound enhancement effects, etc., for that model guitar? I simply can't afford a Helix. I am not even sure how many unit there are that can actually be set to sense a model change and react to it. Thanks, Scott
  14. What are your favorite effects on the Helix when running no amp or speaker sim? Just running into an external amp. Looking to see how everyone is doing that.
  15. Hey folks, I'm looking for some insight from you as to the best way to use my Helix with this particular amp. I'm not very familiar with using effects loops and/or power amp. Just haven't taken the time to learn. The only real option I have is the external speaker input. Is there a way of incorporating the Helix into this, besides just going straight into the front of the amp? Current signal chain: Guitar - Helix Guitar In - Helix 1/4" left/mono output - Amp Thanks in advance.
  16. So I was just playing around with a very basic path, trying to see where the reverb sounds best (before cabinet, after cabinet, etc.). Using this basic path setup: Amp > Reverb > Cabinet [For the test, I was using the Hall reverb with 8.5 decay and 45% mix settings.] When I use the US Deluxe Nrm amp with low gain (4.0) and cranked channel/master volumes, it sounds great... nice rich reverb. You can distinctly hear the decaying sound after you stop playing. But when I change only the amp to the Line 6 2204 Mod (with gain at 8 and channel/master volumes at 10), there is almost no reverb sound at all (with the exact same reverb and cabinet settings). There is a very slight amount of reverb, but you definitely cannot hear the decaying sound like the cleaner amp. Something really strange is happening to the reverbs on high-gain amps that are cranked... it's almost as if the reverb disappears! This completely explains why I've had so much trouble trying to get my reverbs to sound normal (I'm a high-gain junkie). Please try this out!
  17. Hi, I play the bass in a progressive metal band and I've been trying to get my sound out of the mix for quite some time now, without success. My rig is: Ibanez BTB705dx Line 6 pod HD500 Ampeg SVT-4 amp Mesa Standard Powerhouse 2x15 cab The kind of tone I'm trying to get is like Dream Theatre's "Home" intro or Tool's Justin Chancellor lead parts. I'm also trying to get this kind of synth bass sound Colin Edwin has at the beginning of Porcupine Tree's "The start of something beautiful". Can someone help me find these tones? I've been looking everywhere for answers and doing my own tests for more than a year now, in vain. Sorry I didn't manage to get youtube links on this post, but the songs are easy to find and the bass sounds I'm talking about are right at the beginning the first time the bass kicks in.
  18. Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a POD HD 500x, but want to know a little bit more about the capabilities it has. Sorry if these are dumb questions - I haven't been able to find answers anywhere else. Does the POD HD500x have any backing tracks to play/practice with? It seems that the HD500 does not - but I haven't seen if the 500x includes these. Is there any way I can input a mic and apply the POD 500x's effects/looping to it? Thanks!
  19. First time poster here so please go easy! I've been a fan of Line 6 products since the late 90's and have owned various products over the years. I recently got a powered Kemper Profiling amp but looking into the FRFR vs Cab debate just leaves me feeling dizzy as its all opinion/interpretation. So.....my question is this: Can you bypass all the effects etc on a Firehawk 1500 and simply use it as an FRFR speaker output for the Kemper? Bearing in mind that both units are 'powered', I wouldn't want to blow either device to bits! According to a few guys I've spoken to at various music shops, you can bypass the effects on the Firehawk but how would I connect it to the Kemper to simply use it as an FRFR speaker outlet given that it is also powered? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  20. I own a line 6 spider iv 15 combo, im thinking of bying a Boss Gt-10. Does the gt-10 is compatible with the amp and how i connect it? (Sorry for bad english)
  21. Hi Guys, Just wondering.. Does anyone have any advanced settings advice on what deep tweaks have worked for them with the deep effects parameters on the M20d regarding the reverbs and delays, and have made their effects sparkle a lot more in a live situation? The standard fx sound ok, not great though to my ears. Just wondered. We're a 3-piece live cover/pub band with 3 vocalists. Thanks very much.

    Firehawk TT

I want a Firehawk TT. The circuits and software of a Firehawk FX floorboard in the hardware design of the Amplifi TT. I know most gigging pros probably prefer a floorboard unit, but I'd love a desktop unit. I'd plunk down my hard-earned cash if Line 6 releases something like this. Any thoughts? Limitations or reason why they won't? Anybody else want something like this?
  23. Hi, I've been using a POD X3 for my live sound for many years now and although I'm very happy with it, I've always wanted to upgrade, even more so now with the release of Helix. The trouble is, a few of my bands songs extensively use the X3's 'Synth Strings' effect, so much so that we cannot live without it. I bought an HD Pro a year or two back to replace the X3, seeing it had a 'Synth String' effect, however I had to return it as the HD's 'Synth String' sounded nothing like the X3's Synth String, plus it seemed the HD couldn't do half the the stuff the X3 could do in Dual Tone mode without reaching DSP processing limits? Are there plans to patch the Synth String effect into the Helix? If not, can there be? This will be the Synth String effect modelled on 'ARPSolina / Elka® Strings'. Also, for recording, I like to record the dry signal, and use POD Farm VST, so that I can tweak settings further down the line. Are there plans to make a VST Helix plugin, so that I can have Helix tones within my DAW, rather than one-shot recording?
  24. Hi, Does anyone know how the hell to add an effect/mod block to an existing tone which doesn't already have an effect block? I've watched a lot of the videos and asked Google but nothing obvious shows up. A full manual would help but seems as though line6 can't be bothered with this! Thanks for any help - you can probably tell I'm getting really frustrated with this!
  25. Could anyone give me an idea about how to build a patch that includes an autowah? In other words, is there the possibility of an autowah in the HD500X? If it is, how can I configure it? Thanks
