  1. Hi Guys, Haven't been able to update to 2.50 yet, but I'm very curious to know what is the general opinion on the quality of the legacy effects. I don't have experience with the gear they are deduced from. I've read they are supposed to sound a little bit better from the Helix, but what can I expect? Can't wait to update, but in the meantime thanks for your response!
  2. Does anyone know of a way that you could switch up effects while playing without the use of a "foot" pedal? I am a wheelchair user with paraplegia and am not able to use my feet to use effect pedals. I am pretty sure one could use their hands but that would mean having to stop playing. Maybe gear with an interface that uses Alexa so the player could say when to change or adjust tone or effects. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Hello everybody. I recently noticed that I cannot save the effects that I use for my microphone after closing POD Farm 2.59 and all I get is dry sound with no changes. I am trying to find a way to make this happen or a similar solution but I havent found it yet neither on internet or in the app settings. I hope anyone could help me fixing this, would be really appreciated! Thank you all! :) My specs are: -POD Studio UX2 -Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser -Windows 10 64-Bit
  4. Hi, I've been successful in changing patches on my Pod HD500 using Cubase LE AI Elements 8, but the Pod just doesn't toggle the effects on/off when a midi command is sent to it. The Pod is sending and receiving signal as I have even recorded effect toggles from it to a MIDI track, but the Pod only responds to the patch changes, not the effects toggling. I'm not sure if I need to change any settings in the Generic Remote Settings. Can anyone help please? :)
  5. Hey Everyone, I recently purchased an HX effects that I'm strictly running into my effects loop, with another board with my Wah/Overdrives running through the front end of my amp. I've recently discovered this new brand of pedals called "Meris" (They make some amazing stuff). I was wondering theoretically can you put two pedals through one loop on the HX Effects if both of those pedals are controlled via a preset Switch? Meris makes a very nifty looper like pedal that allows you to connect two of their pedals and save a preset sound for each pedal on 1 of the 4 buttons. Was hoping this would work to have a 3rd micro board for synth effects using their Enzo synth pedal, and their Mercury 7 reverb strictly for synth tones that I could run through the HX effects as well.
  6. I made this list of Patches even though its in the Firehawk App, so I can take notes on what I like, dislike, want to delete, ect, So if you are interested feel free to copy it. It would be nice if someone could make a spreadsheet from it with parameter list options! 7. Hi Guys and gals! I have a question about the placement of the Vintage preamp. Im running a split path Top for acoustic and bottom for mic. Originally I had the vintage pre at the start of each path but it sounded negligible and average at best. Then I shifted the vintage pre to first spot then split the paths. Wowzer it sounded amazing!! Buuuuttt I then effectively have 1 path I think as all effects (eq and boost) afterwards effect both guitar and mic even tho it's split. Why does the preamp sound so much better like this? Do I need to start with the mixer and pan guitar left, mic right (i run mono out anyway) then split paths, then have the preamps? Maybe pramp, then panned mixer, then split? Help haha! Thanks.
  8. just got helix lt today going direct into mackie mixer into mackie hr824's . initial impressions are very good.the scribble strips are not missed at all. modeling is very good. I thought the definite improvement over past modeling are the distorted amps.clean amps were just ok ( a bit thin[lack of bass],but going direct with global eq at default). effects are decent, but seemed to lack something, in particular, the delays in some way. presets are mostly weak. now, here is my dilemma. I use 2 hybrid tube/solid state amps and a delay pedal and a line6 m5 (used sparingly) and just love the sound. I found I liked the sound much more than helix lt?! what is wrong with me?! this just cant be. but here is the thing, the amps just have this sound I love. I am sure with some editing I can come close with helix maybe. only advantage I can hear is that I can go direct with helix for recording where as with my amps I have to mic them and hear chair creaks coughs etc...but the sound of my amps/effects just are perfect to my ears and blow away the helix for that type of sound. now hi gain /distortion- no doubt the helix is very good. but I don't use distortion as often as I used to, in fact, I still find the pod xt live plenty for me and I don't dislike the sounds I get at all.the distortions in line 6 m5 are just ok ,but pod xt live is much better and helix is better than both.. I love the pod xt live as its just fun to play into 2 solid state amps though i need to add a bit of reverb/delay. globally with outboard effects. just trying to justify $1000 and just not sure I can;helix lt is a great unit, but for me it may not be the answer. perhaps a pod hd500x would be better for me as I do dislike the pod xt live not syncing time based effects to midi clock (I think the 500x does this).I tried the 500x and didn't like it much at the time, but might be enough for me).I just think the helix is overkill.I do like that steve vai hi gain patch though.... conclusion thus far, I am thrilled with my clean amps, delay pedal and m5 setup and even my pod xt live. I found the helix excellent but cant justify 1k for my needs. Well, will try helix into my solid state amps and see if that works better for me
  9. See enclosed spreadsheet for the list. Mobile POD Amp Models List.xlsx
  10. I have two stereo effects units and a few drive pedals that I want to use in Helix signal chains. I can combine the drive units into one mono block using a Voodoo Lab Hex switcher , but that still leaves me needing an extra mono loop (the four efx send/returns will be used by the two stereo effects). I know I could put the mono drive block before the Helix, but that doesn't allow fitting inside a chain and/or using with my Variax VDI. Any idea the best way to get an extra effects loop? -mark
  11. 10 Launch Sonar, go to 'Edit -> Preferences -> File -> VST Settings' 2) Make sure the correct location is added to the VST Scan Paths. The Location of plug-ins files depend on your setting during installation. The default location is 64 bits - C:\Program Files\VstPlugins 3) If the steps above are not working, try the scan button in the Scan options to re-scan the target folders.
  12. Ok, I know that there have been multiple topics on this, but none I have found pertained to my specific situation. I'm certain that I am running out of DSP way too quickly. I'm currently setting up a preset with 1 volume pedal, 1 compressor, 1 wah, 1 cab + amp, and 1 amp and IR. I'm already getting effects grayed out. I can add some modulation and delay effects, but reverb is totally grayed out, among some other things. I have signal path one set to run to signal path 2, so I should have the full DSP power available to me. What am I missing here? Is something wrong? I've encountered this before and after updating to v2.50 and performing a factory reset. Thank You!
  13. Can you assign cc's to specific effects in the Pod HD Pro X? I'm trying to set up a Behringer FCB1010 with the eurekaprom 3 chip installed. No problems with changing patches, but I can't figure out how to toggle effects off and on in effects mode.
  14. So I see that the HX effects can be set to bypass mode by holding the tap/mode button at the same time. I purchased one and am excited to get this hooked up to my small pedal board My question is can you set this up to be pre-programmed on a per preset or even per snapshot level? Or is this only available as a manual function. I'm planning on integrating this with a few different pedals with midi function(chase bliss/eventide) and was hoping when I am not using the HX effects than it would not affect the signal at all. Because I there is only 2 effects loops I unfortunately have to set this up in a chain instead of all through HX effects. Thanks in advanced!
  15. so i need help i have tried standard inputs, 4 cable methods, using the my amp's poweramp. using the helix's modeled amp and cabinets and nothing seems to work all my sounds are pretty much horrible i am not blaming the helix i have seen countless videos where people come up with amazing tones, and there are many customer reviews about how good the product is, so i am thinking i am the problem. can someone just guide me into getting a decent tone ? what am i doing wrong here ! should i buy FRFR amp/speakers? anything helps because as of now i am completely out of ideas thanks

  22. What are the most economical POD units I should consider that will automatically sense what JTV model I am using and automatically apply the best sound enhancement effects, etc., for that model guitar? I simply can't afford a Helix. I am not even sure how many unit there are that can actually be set to sense a model change and react to it. Thanks, Scott
  23. What are your favorite effects on the Helix when running no amp or speaker sim? Just running into an external amp. Looking to see how everyone is doing that.
  24. Hey folks, I'm looking for some insight from you as to the best way to use my Helix with this particular amp. I'm not very familiar with using effects loops and/or power amp. Just haven't taken the time to learn. The only real option I have is the external speaker input. Is there a way of incorporating the Helix into this, besides just going straight into the front of the amp? Current signal chain: Guitar - Helix Guitar In - Helix 1/4" left/mono output - Amp Thanks in advance.
  25. So I was just playing around with a very basic path, trying to see where the reverb sounds best (before cabinet, after cabinet, etc.). Using this basic path setup: Amp > Reverb > Cabinet [For the test, I was using the Hall reverb with 8.5 decay and 45% mix settings.] When I use the US Deluxe Nrm amp with low gain (4.0) and cranked channel/master volumes, it sounds great... nice rich reverb. You can distinctly hear the decaying sound after you stop playing. But when I change only the amp to the Line 6 2204 Mod (with gain at 8 and channel/master volumes at 10), there is almost no reverb sound at all (with the exact same reverb and cabinet settings). There is a very slight amount of reverb, but you definitely cannot hear the decaying sound like the cleaner amp. Something really strange is happening to the reverbs on high-gain amps that are cranked... it's almost as if the reverb disappears! This completely explains why I've had so much trouble trying to get my reverbs to sound normal (I'm a high-gain junkie). Please try this out!
