  1. Is there a way to ADD an EXTERNAL Compressor Pedal into an EX LOOP Block on HX stomp , Yet still retain the main SEND JACK to route signal to a stage amp?
  2. I had a standalone looper pedal gifted to me, and I'm not entirely sure how I can use it with the HX Effects with 4CM. Does anyone have a setup for something like this? I'd like to avoid having to use an FX Loop block if possible.
  3. I have a Firehawk FX and was just given a Cry Baby wah. Can not figure how to hook it up to get it to work. Tried direct instrument input on wah pedal to guitar and them amp out on pedal to guitar in. I get volume but as soon as I click on the pedal to get wah engaged no volume. Even reversed the cables in case the was was mislabeled but received the same thing. Any ideas? If you have used a external wah pedal please help and advise exactly how you hooked yours up. Thank you
  4. Apologies if I'm missing an active thread on this but I couldn't find anything. I use Ableton Live and I'd like to re-amp a track through Helix to external effects and an external amplifier...and then mic that and bring it back into Live as a new track. I understand how to re-amp a track 'inside the Helix box' and I know how to connect a guitar to an external powered amp through Helix (found a video on this) but this is a bit different. Is there a correct way to do this? I sort of got it to work by setting my 'source track' in Ableton to External Out USB 3/4. Then on the Helix I used a USB 3/4 Input block -> a Send/Return FX Loop block...I used Send 1 to go into an external fuzz pedal (or whatever) and then into the amp. Instead of using the paired Return on the Helix, I mic'd the amp and brought that back into the Helix Mic Input. The 'new/re-amped track' in Ableton seemed to want to use External In USB 8. I say this "sort of" worked because I was able to record the re-amped signal but the results were underwhelming. I feel like I either missed something important or found a 'hack' that's not really the optimal way to do this. Does anyone else ever take a track from a DAW and use Helix to reamp it through external fx and an external amp that is mic'd and captured via Mic In? I'd greatly appreciate any widsom/hints on this! Cheers, Chris
  5. I run my Helix direct to the mixing board, and for the longest time ran an external reverb pedal in one of the send/return fx loops on the Helix. One day I decided to run the reverb pedal after the Helix (1/4" mono out) instead of through the fx loop, and got, what I felt like, was a more pristine/clear sound out of my reverb unit. Now, I don't know if this was due to the fact that I do run the Global EQ with a significant high cut, or because there's a definite affect in tone through the send/returns the Helix provides. I know Line 6 states the guitar input on the unit is the highest quality found on the market, but I'm not sure what's going on with the rest of the input/output jacks. I'm asking because I have a few other high-quality effects that I've incorporated with my Helix setup, but I'm a bit reluctant to use them in the Helix fx loops, but I'm seriously missing the ability to turn them off/on via the Snapshots/block assign. Can anyone share their experience using external effects through the send/returns of the Helix?
