  1. Hey guys! About to purchase Pod Farm 2.5 for my ilok. I own an ilok first generation. Will this work? Or am I required to purchase an ilok 2nd gen? I have searched the system requirements on the Line 6 website and it isn't specified. Any info would be great. Thanks!
  2. Hey guys, Years ago I bought a brand new X3 Pro which came with pod farm and all of it's expansion packs for free. I've been running it on an iMac for ages and it's all been working fine until recently. I've bought a MacBook Pro and want to use pod farm with logic while on the go. I was just wondering if it's possible to get the expansion packs working somehow without having to carry my X3 Pro around with me and connect it every time I wish to use them? Thanks a lot for your time!

  4. Installing POD Farm 1 after installing POD Farm 2 can corrupt the POD Farm system files. This will cause all versions of POD Farm 1 and 2 not function correctly. The workaround is to uninstall both versions of POD Farm 1 and 2, and then install POD Farm 1 first then POD Farm 2 afterwards.

Pro Tools crash when instantiating POD Farm 2.5x plug-in to a track or changing presets in plug-in. POD Farm 2.5x plug-in settings are not retained in Pro Tools project after saving, closing, then, re-opening project. Please try the following: Close all open programs out, go to the Mac HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Line 6 folder. If you are on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.x and 10.8.x, the Library folder is hidden. To 'unhide' this folder, you must first run the terminal program located in the Applications/Utilities folder. Once Terminal is running, at the command prompt, type the following: chflags nohidden /Users/Username/Library *The username is the username of your computer which has the house icon under Places [*]Hit enter. There will be no indication that anything happend except for a new command prompt if it worked. [*]With the Library folder now visible, go to: Mac HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Line 6 folder [*]CTRL+Click on that Line 6 folder in that location folder and select GET INFO. Check the permissions at the bottom of GET INFO, and check to see if they are set to READ ONLY. If so, manually change the permissions to Read & Write. [*]Then, run License Manager and just sign in with your Line 6 username. [*]After signing in, the Line 6 folder in the above location should be populated with new items such as a Guitarport and License Manager folders, and a L6system file. [*]Then, close out License Manager and test POD Farm 2.55 standalone or plug-in within your DAW once again. 3. Amp Models no longer available in POD Farm 2.0 or older after installing POD Farm 2.5x This was a problem with POD Farm 2.50 that was fixed in 2.51. Windows: Completely uninstall both POD Farm 1 and POD Farm 2 using the Line 6 Uninstaller within Programs/Line 6/Tools folder. Download and re-install POD Farm 2.55 from the Line 6 website. If you must also have POD Farm 1 on that computer as well, make sure to install POD Farm 1.12 BEFORE installing POD Farm 2.55 on your system. [*]Mac: Throw away all versions of POD Farm 1 or 2 applications to the trash from the Applications/Line6 folder. Manually search in the following locations and delete any of the files found from within each of these folders: Library/Audio/Plugin-Ins/Components Library/Audio/Plugin-Ins/VST Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers Library/Frameworks (look for L6WXTG and L6WXTY.framework and delete them) Library/Application Support/Line 6 Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins (Username)/Library/Application Support/Line 6 Applications/Line 6 User/Documents/Line 6 User/Library/Preferences (Line6 preferences, should be something like com.line6.xxxxx, etc. Delete.) RTAS Plug-ins Not Loading after POD Farm 2.5 Instantiation An error message pops up at startup with the following: Pro Tools could not load the following plug-ins either because no valid authorization could be found, the iLok key was not connected or the plug-in was damaged. It also lists the POD Farm 2 and POD Farm Elements plug-ins below the message. This is a Windows-based problem and seems to be an issue if Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is not updated or installed properly on the computer system. Using Windows Update to install/update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable so that POD Farm 2.5 can have access to the libraries it needs to run correctly usually fixes the problem. 5. Incorrect Graphics/GUI in POD Farm 2.5x plug-in If you are using a Custom Plug-in folder location for your DAW, make sure to delete the old POD Farm 2 and POD Farm Elements plug-in files from that location, and move the new POD Farm 2.55 plug-in files to that same location. On Windows XP, these new files are located in: C:\Program Files\Line6\POD Farm 2\VST\Line 6 On Windows Vista/7, they are located in: C:\Program Files(x86)\Line6\POD Farm 2\VST\Line 6 On Mac OS X, AU files are located in: Mac HD\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components On Mac OS X, VST files are located in: Mac HD\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\VST\Line 6 POD Farm 2.5: Fehlerbehebung: 1. Eine Fehlermeldung erscheint beim Start: "Pro Tools could not load the following plug-ins either because no valid authorization could be found, the iLok key was not connected or the plug-in was damaged." Windows XP: Die neuen Dateien sind in diesem Ordner: C:\Programme\Line6\POD Farm 2\VST\Line 6 Windows Vista/7 Dateien in diesem Ordner: C:\Programme (x86)\Line6\POD Farm 2\VST\Line 6 Mac OSX, AU Dateien in diesem Ordner: Mac HD\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components Mac OSX, VST Dateien im Ordner: Mac HD\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\VST\Line 6 Dépannage POD Farm 2.5: 1. Supprimer.) Un message d'erreur s'ouvre au démarrage: "Pro Tools could not load the following plug-ins either because no valid authorization could be found, the iLok key was not connected or the plug-in was damaged."
  6. Q: Will the POD HD modelers work with the POD Farm standalone or plug in software? A: No. POD Farm is not compatible with any of our POD HD multi effect processor devices however, Line 6 has developed a proprietary editor librarian software called POD HD Edit that is a free download and will allow you to edit your tones on your computer. POD HD Edit is a free download and can be downloaded from our Software Downloads Page.
  7. Q: I purchased model packs for my Line 6 device. If I upgrade to POD Farm 2 do I lose my model packs? A: As long as you purchase a Line 6 license key upgrade for POD Farm 2 then all of your previously purchased model packs will work within POD Farm 2. The only time this would not happen is if you purchased a "crossgrade" license key to POD Farm 2 iLok. Q: I purchased a Model Pack for my Line 6 audio interface and now I want to "crossgrade" to the iLok version of the plug in. Will I lose my model packs? A: If you "crossgrade" to the STANDARD POD Farm for iLok then yes. Model packs are not transferable from a Line 6 device over to an iLok key. However, you can purchase POD Farm 2 Platinum for iLok at a special "crossgrade" price. See the online store for details. Q: I purchased my POD Farm version 1 iLok key "Used/off of eBay" (basically NOT through the Line 6 Website Store or a Storefront/Dealer and had the key transferred to my account through Pace. Do I qualify for any upgrades or discount prices? A: No. Upgrades and discount pricing is only available to customers who purchased the POD Farm for iLok new from a dealer or through the Line 6 online store. Q: I purchased my Line 6 device used and there was a POD Farm version 1 license key tied to the device but not to my account. Do I qualify for any upgrade pricing or discounts on POD Farm 2? A: No. Upgrades and discount pricing is only available to customers who purchased the POD Farm Line 6 licenses new from the Line 6 online store. Q: Do I have to purchase a Line 6 license key to use POD Farm 2 as a standalone application for Tone Direct Monitoring? A: Yes. Unlike POD Farm version 1, which you can use in standalone mode for free without purchasing a key, you will need to purchase a Line 6 license key from our Online Store in order to use POD Farm 2 as a standalone application. Q: Will POD Farm 2 run in Standalone Mode with a iLok POD Farm 2 license key? A: No. The behavior is no different than that of POD Farm 1.x Plug-In effect with iLok licenses. It runs only as an AU/VST/RTAS Plug-In effect within a support host DAW application. Q: Will POD Farm 2 run in Standalone Mode with a PODxt or POD X3 (Bean, Live or Pro model) with a license installed in this device? A: No. The correct Standalone patch editing software for PODxt and POD X3 devices is GearBox (currently at version 3.72). Q: Will POD Farm 2 tones load into Gearbox to put on my POD xt/X3 hardware? A: No, POD Farm 2 tones will not load into the Gearbox software.

  10. Before we get into defining "Platinum", it's important to know that POD Farm comes in two distinct flavors: 1. As a plug in tied to a Line 6 device OR 2. As a plug in tied to an iLok key The difference between POD Farm and POD Farm Platinum, regardless of which type of device the license is tied to, is simply the number of amp, cab, and FX models available in the plug-in. POD Farm includes a limited number of models PLUS any models your Line 6 device contains from buying model packs, while POD Farm Platinum includes ALL Line6 models ever made to date. You may be asking "What does this mean"? Let's look at some examples: If you have a POD XTL and you own all of the Line 6 model packs (Power Pack, Metal Shop, FX Junkie, Collector Classics, and the Bass Expansion Pack), then you will have an equivalent model set to what's included in POD Farm Platinum. If you have a POD XTL loaded with only the Collectors Classic pack and you upgrade to POD Farm plug in, you will not have an equivalent model set to POD Farm Platinum, but the models from the Collector Classic Pack will be available in POD Farm. If you have an POD X3 and you installed your free POD Farm plug in then you will have an equivalent model set to what's included in POD Farm Platinum. Why? Because the X3 devices come loaded with all of our models out of the box. The same goes for anyone who owns a TonePort DI Gold version. Now, it's important to remember that the iLok version of POD Farm will come in two versions: 1. POD Farm for iLok (a limited amount of models included) OR 2. POD Farm Platinum for iLok (all models included) Some questions about POD Farm plug-in for iLok: Q: Can I transfer my POD Farm key out of my Line 6 device into an iLok?
