  1. Spider Jam cuts on and off, but only when a BFV Shortboard is connected. I have 3 FBV Shortboards it cuts off and on with all 3. The shortboards all work fine with no problems on my other amps.
  2. Hi All, New to the forum. I have had my Amp setup for 3 years now. I bought a new (secondhand) guitar that has renewed my enthusiasm to pick up a guitar again. It seems though there are other plans afoot! I jumped online to see if there were any updates for the pedal and amp and sure enough there is! First thing I did was renew my password to login (as I forgot). Then I made sure I downloaded Line 6 sotware: Licence manager, Monkey, FBV controller & Spider Edit to my Macbook Pro. So I had everything powered off. I plugged in my Cat cable to the Amp & Pedal. I plugged in the USB between the Mac & Pedal. Turned amp on and powered laptop and logged into Monkey. Monkey found the devices and found the updates required so I downloaded those. Then right at the end of the update it came back with an error message about making sure cables are connected. (which they obviously were as everything was initially talking to each other) Then the amps display said 'Downloading'. So I thought it must have gone through. It said downloading for over an hour so I thought, these are only midi files, they ain't that big! So I tried to reinstall and then it said in the on screen software under Device Firmware, 'Unknown'. I restarted everything again but when I switched the amp back on it still came up with 'Downloading' It was at this point that I knew something had gone wrong for sure. I did a hard reset and cycled the pwr. Nothing. I searched the forums and found the factory reset. I have done that and now all the amp says is 'Ready to Install'. (which I tried but just get error messages about the firmware) If anyone knows a fix for this please please respond. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, your my only hope!
  3. Hi Everyone, I'm seriously considering to buy the Amplifi 75 and also the FBV Shortboard MKII. I've been reading the threads here and I must say I don't feel confident enough to buy them because I don't have a service center or anything nearby I can return them to. Once I buy them, they are with me for life. As I read, after the 2.x firmware update, Android can control the Amplifi as well. Could you tell me anything about this? Are there connectivity issues or anything else? How has been your experience so far? I have an Android phone (Xiaomi MI3), I'm hoping this will work with it but ideally I'd like to use my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with an Android emulator running on it to emulate a tablet. Or is there another way to control it from Windows (10)? Are there any major differences between the phone and tablet version of the app? Despite all the problems people are experiencing, are they worth to buy? Thank you in advance. Cheers!
  4. Hey guys! So, my dad happens to have a Flextone III+ with an working FBV Shortboard (MkI) connected. Since I'm quite the Line6 guy too, i bought a Shortboard MkII for use with my computer (Pod Farm 2.5). Now i thought, woudlnt it be cool to connect my MkII to his Flextone III, since we play in the same practice room, and i could mess around with my own presets. (IF the presets are stored in the shortboard, if someone can confirm this is not the case, you can close this thread!) So, here comes the problem: The old Shortboard is connected via a strange connector with a couple of pins, dont know how they're called, almost like an old sVideo connector but lager and with more pins. Also, this connector has a Screw-thingy around it, to lock it in place. The old shortboard has this connector too, exclusivly this connector. (and an expression pedal plug, of course) My question now is, where the f*** am i supposed to connect a RJ45 cable for my MkII? I've looked for a connector all over the place, but couldnt find one, and I saw some photos online of a Flextone III having a RJ45 connector instead of the stupid one I have... (if you can't tell by now, I'm getting annoyed by this...) Now, do I have any chance of connecting my MkII to this amp? For further investigation, i think i can provide serial numbers(if they help) and pictures. I'm getting the feeling we got a super special one time run edition here... Thanks a lot in advance!
  5. I still own a PODxt Live (and separate expression pedal), both still in pristine condition. B) I WANT to buy an AMPLIFi 150 for all its creamy goodness, as a major upgrade to my current practice amp. Can't wait to demo the amp at the nearby Guitar Center. I'm NOT crazy about also immediately buying a new FBV Shortboard MkII or other new foot controller / expression pedal to access the AMPLIFi's 100 onboard presets (when the Android device is not in play). I've already downloaded the new AMPLIFi Remote 2.0 (Android) app. Tested one side -- mobile phone only, without the LINE 6 hardware in the room. My new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is not yet listed as officially "supported", but automatic music library recognition/acquisition, tone discovery, creation and editing all work like a charm, smooth as butter -- GREAT JOB LINE 6 !!. QUESTION: Can my PODxt Live's foot switches (BANK UP / DOWN and A, B, C, D) control the AMPLIFi's 100 onboard presets in the same manner that they control the PODxt's onboard presets? In other words, can the PODxt be used ONLY as a foot controller for the AMPLIFi, adding/subtracting nothing from the AMPLIFi's signal chain? If so, what are the required connnections? Firmware updates? Thanks in advance to ANYONE who has a reliable answer! Cheers!
  6. hi all, I recently bought a spider jam amp and fbv shortboard mkII. I'm looking at performing looping songs live creating a drum beat live also. I was wondering if it was possible to record and overdub a live vocal drum backing on bank a and the guitar parts on bank b with the notion of taking the guitar parts away while the vocal drums continue for the bridge then bringing them back again for the chorus? thanks
  7. Anyone know what the functions of the FBV Express and FBV Shortboard are with this amp?
  8. I recently Reset my Pod HD Pro and ever since then my FBV Shortboard MKII does not let me switch between channels. It lets me tune and lets me turn on noise gates but that is about it. Do i have to re- calibrate it? Any solutions?
