  1. Hi, I'm moving and selling off some old gear (not trying to sell it here) but my old Pod HD Desktop (the bean shaped desktop unit) is in my destination country and I don't know if my floor pedal here connects with it. I have the long FBV board (FBX?) with the two expression pedals. I used it to connect to my Spider Mk II amp but since I'm selling the amp, I'm trying to figure out if I should sell the pedal as well. If it works with the bean Pod then I'd probably try to take it with me. It looks like it won't work if I'm reading this correctly but I'd like to confirm since the bean unit always seemed to live in a limbo land between the "normal" Pod units and the bigger HD.
  2. I needed to know as soon as possible if the FBV2 would work on my Spider V 30MKII. Thanks
  3. Hey everyone! Long time HD Pro user and fan here. So this unit has now been retired to a specific project I'm part of and I was wondering if it's possible to rename banks using the edit software? (Not just the individual patches/presets or the setlist, but the numbered bank that is made up of 4 patches). By default these are assigned number but the act I'm part of now is very FX heavy so it would be great to customize and dedicate a bank of 4 presets to a specific song and have that also show up on my mk2 floorboard for live shows. Anyone who can answer this will be rewarded with a crisp digital high 5 from yours truly! Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi all. Bought a brand new FBV 3 for my son's Spider III 150HD. All compatibility documents seem to show full compatibility. Pedal is fully functional EXCEPT all presets save instead of switching. I am completely baffled. When pressing each button on the FBV3 (i.e. A, B, C or D) the display reads "saving" and saves the current patch to it. Simple right? Well, when pressing any and all of the buttons, they always save....never switch. I am obviously missing something simple....I hope? I have documented the issue in a YouTube vid here: https://youtu.be/fgqimL1-Bgw Thanks in advance for any help!!
  5. There is no jack on the V20 for a footboard. Are there any devices or is there any option to use the Micro USB to attach any footboards? Looking to add a Wah or ability to change/ cycle through sounds.
  6. Hi all, Last night, my pedal seemed to have lost it's spring tension and now it feels like it only has 3 positions. It no longer switches between Volume/Wah and basically has very little actual effect at all in any position. Im a novice with pedals, so what is this problem called? Can it be fixed? Thanks, CP
  7. Hi folks, struggling to motivate myself with the Spider Jam amp I have. Firstly, I got it free (unexpectedly) with a second hand guitar I bought; secondly, I got quite excited when I researched info and reviews about it. However, it’s volume control seems to act like a Fender amp, i.e. barely audible 1-2 or 1-3, then effing loud beyond that. Its cleans are ok, where they are clean and not subject to modulation, except the ‘blues - green’ which is excellent. The presets are pretty crap except 50s/60s songs, and those are guitar-dependant for authenticity - everything else sounds very flat or hair-metal inspired. However, in order to fix this you have to deep dive through menus (scant info in either manual downloaded; videos online more like infomercials). This is where my biggest problem lies: the cost of a new and under warranty, never mind mint condition used, fbv3 or fbv shortboard mk2 foot controller is ridiculous for what they are, and almost begs the question of whether to ditch the old tech and buy a Positive Grid Spark, or go for the foot controller (which one works best?) and persevere with the SJ? Open to the floor...
  8. Just a quick vid of my FBV setup with the Helix
  9. Hi everybody, I'm a new owner of a FBV shortboard mkii. I can't understand if it's possible to dowload some new effects on FBV mkii or create them... where and how... (I've just dowloaded the manual but, forgive me, maybe because I'm italian and the manual is in english only, it's seems to me not to find the answers I'm looking for) Someone help me, please! Thanx
  10. Is the FBV Longboard compatible with the UX2? The manual seems to be speaking of a simple on/off switch. But I got this Longboard and it would really be nice I could use it for something.
  11. Can someone please get me a copy of the FBV Longboard user manual? I love this product and I want to use it forever. Thanks
  12. Hello everyone, I have seen the compatibility between pod hd and the fbv products and I understand that the fbv2 is not compatible with the pod hd desktop. But I wanted to know what does really happen when we connect those 2, is it (fbv2) not going to be recognised? Is it (fbv2) not going to be turned on at all? Or is it (the pod) going to do unwanted things when the buttons are pressed? Has anyone tried this before? Is it not recommended at all? I only want to know out of curiosity, and because I would certainly love to travel with that one rather than the express mk2 (it's much smaller and for rehearsing I only need to switch presets). Cheers! \m/
  13. Just bought a fbv shortboard for my Spider IV 150 primarily for the pc connectivity. My other Spider V (30 and 20) amps will record directly to Audacity on my PC. All I had to do was select the device from the audio input devices in the program. But when I plug the shortboard into my pc I do not get the option to select it. Is there a driver, or a step I may be missing here? I do get connectivity to the Spider IV edit software so I know there is a connection to the pc, but nothing in the device menus for recording.
  14. Can you set what bank is selected with the FBV Express MK2 pedal? Like say A is bank 32a (User 1) B is bank 32b (User2) etc so you can change banks while you are playing using the 240 HC cabinet?
  15. If I have a spider IV and a fbv longboard can I use an m13. Are they compatible?
  16. Hi, I’m looking at replacing my original cable that connects my fbv express mkii pedal to my Spider V 240 head as Iv recently broken the clip on the rj45 connector and also noticed the plastic cable sleeve beginning to split due to wear and tear, exposing the inner wires. The writing on the cable itself says it’s a Cat5e cable and iv looked at the wiring pins/colours and know it’s a straight type, not a crossover type. My question is can I use a Cat6 cable to replace the cat5e? Iv heard that using the wrong cable can kill the amp and/or pedal. I’m looking at getting a nylon/flat cable for more durability instead of the cheaper hard plastic ones but can only find these types for Cat6 upwards. thanks scott
  18. Although I actually do enjoy well-written manuals - and I would put Line6 manuals in that category - the ones for the Spider Jam and the FBV Express II are for the most part too technical for me. Well, not so much technical as an avalanche of tech-terminology that the writers clearly expect me to already know. My eyes glaze over. My difficulty is that nowhere can I find how you assign a particular guitar tone on the Jam amp to one of the four foot buttons on the FBV pedal. The pedal is s/hand, and works fine, but the buttons take me to the previous owner's four favourites and I don't know how to change that. Unless I've missed it, neither the Jam's manual nor the FBV's manual explain how you do it. Or they do, but I don't recognise it for what it is. I appreciate that the real difficulty is probably me but, if I'm to make any progress, I need a simple plain-language step-by-step explanation. Can anyone help?
  19. Hello, I have recently aquired an used X3 (bean) with a FBV Express MkII controller. This all works fine, but when I configure the pedal control in GearBox to "Both Tones", "1 1=twk|2=vol" and "2 1=twk|2=vol" and under Tweak "Mod:Mix" under both, the footswitch pedal does not actually alter the Mix option for the Modulation (which is enabled) on both Tones (Dual enabled). I tried other options for Tweak and they don't seem to react either. When the settings are on 1=w/v|2=twk for example, the footswitch pedal does alter the volume and can switch Wah on. Anybody any idea? I can tweak the pedal settings with FBV Controller but that should only be used if the controller is connected with USB to the PC. The controller works with the network cable on the bean.
  20. I ,by chance, bought a spider 3 30 watt today at low low money and why I bought it...im really fed up hogging my vetta 2 combo to rehersal and the spider 3 is easy moved...it works for me. Now,id really like a pedal to change channels on the spider and i have the longboard for the vetta 2 but will it work on the spider 3 30 watt or do i need an fbv express pedal?
  21. Hallo, I purchased an FBV3 pedal to control my Amplify. It works great and the midi controll software is easy to use too. Since Amplify has no looper and there is no easy way to integrate a classic external looper, I thought maybe I can connect both, Amplify AND computer and use a software looper controlled by FBV pedal. Can I switch FBV3 back to control Amplify mode while the USB cable is attached? Thank for any advice and/or oppinionon the topic. Yours recoder

  23. Hi everyone, I have an Amplifi 150 and i kinda love the guitar effects and was considering to buy a pedal footswitch to control its effects. Which pedal is better suited/your preference while using it with an AMplifi? FBV Shortboard MKII or FBV 3? I noted that the FBV 3 has some features (E.g. Programmable lights) Which are not compatible with Amplifi 150. FBVShortboard MKII: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv-shortboard-mkii FBV 3: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv3 Thanks!
  24. Hi all! I hope someone is able to help me shed some light on my situation. I have an old Pod XT which works fine. I recently managed to buy a FBV Longboard (two expression pedal board) and when I plug it into the xt it shows 'Line 6' on the display but none of the buttons change anything on the pod other than when I click the wah pedal in which does work. Nothing else seems to work though. Has anyone got any ideas? I've updated Line 6 Monkey, firmware e.t.c and still I only get the wah function working and nothing else. Thanks everyone! Ryan
  25. Here are the controls for Spider IV amps (75,120,150, HD150) when using the FBV 3 foot controller. FS1: Boost on/off FS2: FX1 (Gain, Auto, Pitch) FS3: FX2 (Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo) FS4: FX3 (Delay, Tape Echo, Sweep Echo) FS5: Reverb on/off Function: turns on looper mode. Tap button: will start and stop the recording, overdubs, playback within looper mode. NOTE: FBV3 will not work as a computer editing interface for Spider IV amps. FBV Express MKII and FBV Shortboard MKII pedals will work for editing. When using the FBV3 with your Spider IV, make sure you have the latest flash memory (v1.02) installed for your FBV controller. You'll find the Line 6 Updater located here: http://line6.com/software/ Download and install Line 6 Updater, then connect your controller to your Mac or PC with a standard USB cable. Line 6 Updater will ask you to login, and then run the latest update for the controller.
