  1. Surely its time now for a new FBV pedalboard. Colour coding. Nice big display for the names. don't need any controls anymore just the expression pedal and the footswitches. link to the amplifi TT or whatever......use the iPad for everything else. or how about a bluetooth one?
  2. So I just got the FBV Shortboard MkII a couple of days ago and I've figured most of it out but I can not for the life of me figure how to get the tap tempo to work with a delay that I have on my Pod Hd Pro X. I've figured out how to assign certain effects to my shortboard but I just can't get the tap tempo to work. Thanks in advance for anyones help!
  3. hi, my fbv express stopped working after i updated the software on monkey. at first it started slashing when i plugged it into the amp and it made a loud noise, now it wont turn on at all when plugged into either the amp or my computer. can any one help?
  4. Hello everyone I recently bought an fbv shortboard for my pod hd pro. Unfortunately, when plugging the shortboard in to my pod, it simply isn't being detected at all. No lights, no functions. I then hooked it up to my computer via USB were it was detected. I updated all drivers and flash via line 6 monkey. I couldnt find any help on the internet on how to get the fbv to work with the pod! This is really really disappointing. However, I then plugged the shortboard into to VARIAX input of my pod (I know this is not were it goes, but i needed to find out, whether the cable worked at all) and the shortboard was detected, but i simply couldnt do anything with it. Would someone please tell me, what I am doing wrong? P.S. I tried calibrating the pedal and that wont work (via USB to computer) either.
  5. hello my AMP is Line 6 Spider IV I have noticed that it has FBV pedal input which is same as LAN cable... I was thinking is there any way to switch between channels via computer? any software or any other way? computer can communicate via LAN port and send packets... there will be some way to give AMP order to switch channels
  6. Hello Everyone! I've been recently experiencing some issues with my spider valve hd 100 mki head, and I was wondering if any of you have experienced similar problems or might have an idea as to what is going on. Basically, i play in a ska/punk band, so it requires a lot of switching between my clean and distortion channels with my pedal. Sometimes, when playing live, i will go to execute a channel change with my FBV express pedal, and it will either not switch channels at all or switch to a random channel. If i flip the amp on and off again, it will temporarily solve the problem. I took the cable and pedal into guitar center and was fooling around on some of the solid state line 6's for an hour/hour and a half with no problems at all, so i can conclude it is not the pedal or the cable. Any suggestions? Thanks
  7. I've been recently having problems with my FBV Express MKII Pedal and I cannot seem to diagnose what the problem is. In short, I play in a band that requires a lot of switching from clean to distortion tones. When I'm on stage playing and trying to execute the changes, the pedal will either not switch to the correct channel or will not switch to a different channel at all. Do you think this could be a calibration problem, cable problem, or problem with the pedal itself? Thanks
  8. Hello Guitar Pros and sonic experts. I got an issue with my FBV Shortboard MkII because it goes blank when i connect it to my POD 2.0. It does not seem to control the thing. Am i doing something wrong here? or is the Shortboard MkII just not able to control or not compatible to my POD 2.0? and if not, is it possible to mod the FBV shortboard MkII so that it can control my POD 2.0? I need your help. Pls advise. Rgds NT
  9. Hi everyone, I added a Voodoo Lab GCX to my rig and I'm experimenting with using my FBV Shortboard MKII to send it MIDI control change messages through the POD HD Pro. I have it working where I can hit my FS1 button to toggle Controller #80 on or off through channel 16. The only thing that needs improvement is I was wondering if it would be possible to have the LED on the FS1 stay on when the value is 127 (On) and have it off when I toggle the button again. Is this doable? Thanks, Anthony
  10. After updating to new firmware (1.01) and app (1.2), fbv express changes preset to A, B, C, D of only bank 1. Whenever I try to change preset via ios app (ie bank 3, preset B ), tone changes accordingly but when I use fbv express to change the preset after selecting the bank with ios app (let's say preset C of current bank) it automatically loads preset (ie C or which button you pressed) of bank 1. So, Selecting Bank 3 - Tone B via ios app -> amplifi loads the tone properly -> Push the button C of fbv express mkii -> ios app and amplifi loads the Bank 1 - Tone C instead of Bank 3 - Tone C So, currently I can use fbv express mkII only with first bank, limited with 4 presets. Anyone with same experience?
  11. Alright, I have a question hopefully someone can answer. I own a Line 6 Spider Jam amp and i want to make better use of the recording function by going hands-free. If i bought the fbv express mk2 would i be able to control my recording (start, stop, overdub)? via the footpedals or is that only possible on the fbv shortboard? Thanks Ben
  12. Hi there... I've Googled round for a lot of my answers, but just need some final confirmations. I have just got the UX2 and now I am after an expression pedal. Not too fussed about assignments, I just want a basic wah facility. Is there a cheap and cheerful solution? What about the FBV MKII - will this work with the UX2? Cheers, Lee PS - no metronome on the UX2 - have I missed something?
  13. Just acquired an FBV longboard to use with a POD X3 pro. Volume and wah pedals and their lights work, but the LCD display doesn't light up and none of the buttons or their lights work. Has anyone else experienced this? Update: Ok, saw someone else mention in another post the ribbon cables inside the FBV coming unconnected. Sure enough, took off all the screws and popped it open, two of the ribbon cable connectors came loose. Popped them back in and now works fine. My question now is: What kinds of solutions have others used to keep the ribbon cable connectors from coming loose? I noticed there was a sort of white caulking substance laid around the connectors but obviously they didn't work (they seem kind of soft). Need something I can feel confident will not come loose during a show.
  14. I have a spider iv 75 amp with FBV shortboard connected. Can someone tell me why the volume is so high when I turn it on? I have lower and raise the pedal to get the volume back under control.
  15. I bought the FBV Express Mk II for my son about a month or so ago. It works fine in terms of sound, but it has an annoying squeak when he works the Wah pedal. Our usual solution is to crank the volume up but I kinda think this should only be temporary. :) If it's just a case of lubing the shims on the pedal shaft/axle I'm happy to do that provided it won't invalidate the warranty. Or does this indicate a fault and I should return it for a replacement? Amazon are usually pretty good with that sort of thing. It just seems a bit unnecessary if it's just some dry surface friction. Cheers.
  16. is there not a way to connect my MKII Shortboard via USB and download new tones to use on my Spider III 150w amp head? ALSO, isn't there a way I can connect the MKII and "fine tune" my effects I currently have on there? for example: custom naming my banks/presets... etc etc. just getting started on this and any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, ace
  17. Hey guys, Love this forum, so helpful compared to some out there. I am looking to sell my ENGL (dont need 150w) and use my POD X3 a bit more - i have some great patches downloaded from Reece Fullwood (Mask of Judas) and Drewsif Stalin - I recommend you check out these guys if you havent heard of them - i nearly quit when i heard Reece! Anyway - i have a 2x12 laney ironheart cab and an X3 bean - I was wondering..... I see the X3 bean has a FBV input on it - does this mean I could purchase the FBV pedal and a power amp and i would be able to run my POD sounds live with the ability to switch around with the FBV? I am desperate to get rid of my ENGL and 4X12 (moved outta my folks house into a top story apartment and my band practices miles away where we have to carry the gear down a long path.... I cant stands no more!!!!! Help me friends!!!! Lenny
  18. I purchased a FBV Express MKII for my Spider IV 15 so I wouldn't have to go to my amp to change channels. I figured it would be as simple as just using the provided CAT-5 cable to connect the Pedal to the amp. When this didn't work I went through the process of calibrating it at least ten times. The calibration process worked. It went from 1 to 4 and all seven lights lit up. I unplugged it from the amp and reconnected it only to have it do nothing. I spent about an hour trying to find a USB cable to connect it to the computer to use the Line 6 Monkey to update it only to have it be fully updated. I preformed a factory reset just to be safe. I re-calibrated it to the amp and still nothing. So I then used the Line 6 FBV Control to program the pedal only to still have it not function with the amp. Does anybody know how to fix this?
  19. Hello, I recently bought the FBV Express MKII to controll my POD XT (bean) unit. The problem is, that the board doesn't switch any patches at all. Example: If I select different patches on my pod, the respective led on the fbv does light up. Let's say I have 28A selected on my pod. The FBV then lights up on A. I switch on my pod to 28B -> FBV B lights up. Obviously, the FBV should controll my POD, not the other way around ;) If I use the ABCD switches on the FBV, nothing happens on the POD. How is this possible? The manual says, both units are compatible and they should work "plug & play". What I already tried to do: I updated anything via line6monkey. I connected the FBV to usb only to test in Gearbox -> same as it is with the pod. I switch something in gear box and the leds on the FBV change, but not the other way around I connected the FBV to the POD with the original cable, having the POD conected to my PC via USB and without havong it connected to my PC. -> No difference! I calibrated the FBV multiple times. I just noted, that the red led on the FBV (let's say B) is flickering in an interval of ~2-3 seconds when I put it on. (This is not for TAP, as I choose a sound without any TAP tempo stuff). The display shows nothing, until I change the sound on the pod. It then shows ABC or D and the LED stops flickering - > still no function on the FBV-buttons Did anyone experience this kind of problem? Or is there maybe a simple solution I just didn't think of? I'm looking forward to your suggestions :) David
  20. I recently bought a line 6 pod HD pro X, I'm really confused On the footcontroller page it says ("NOTE: FBV Shortboard is NOT compatible with Ax212™, Flextone™ I, II or HD, POD® Pro, Bass POD®, Bass POD® Pro and Spider™.)" But then i go on the compatibility chart it has a red checkmark saying its compatible http://line6.com/footcontrollers/compatibility.html Same story with the full size board (which I'd prefer) (NOTE: FBV is NOT compatible with Ax212™, Flextone™I, II or HD, POD® Pro, Bass POD®, Bass POD® Pro and Spider™.) http://line6.com/footcontrollers/fbv.html Anyone know's what's the story?
  21. Anyone know what the functions of the FBV Express and FBV Shortboard are with this amp?
  22. I have the Spider valve 112MKii combo and the Express pedal. I have had a hell of a time figuring how to set up this stuff. anyhow, the express pedal works fine,(stores only 4 sounds/wah and volume) but when I hook it up to my computer, it goes blank.(the pedal) I have all of the drivers installed, and collaborated the pedal, I just want to get MKii EDIT to work, but the computer does not recognize the amp because the fbv express turns off when I plug in the USB cable from the pedal to the usb port on the computer. can I bypass this and use MKii EDIT directly somehow? any ideas??
  23. Hello everyone. I currently use a Pod HD Desktop and love it, but this post isn't exactly about such. I enjoy its features but am saddened by the lack of midi inputs, virtual or physical and was wondering if I could rig it up to one of the Fbv boards (most likely the express). My intention would to use a daw to send midi signals to the fbv, then have that switch between patches in my Pod as necessary for my live show. I know the mkii fbv boards have a single midi input, so I was wondering if it could be used this way or not. Essentially, if you don't understand what I'm trying to accomplish, the guy in this video is doing the same thing, just using physical midi output from a computer interface into a physical midi input on his pod. I would be doing the same, except Daw's midi tracks > Fbv > Pod. Is this possible? Thanks in advance ^_^
  24. yes, your eyes are working well: a car/scooter passed over my FBV Shortboard and I'd like to try repairing it. I would basically need a new chassis and, probably, some ICs. but the chassis is worst... Could somebody help/suggest me? thanx
  25. Hi, first post. I looked around but didn't see this question anywhere. I've been using a Line 6 Spider 2 2x12 combo amp with an FBV shortboard. I just bought a Line 6 Spider 2 half stack, which has identical controls to the combo. If I were to use the shortboard with the half stack, would it still keep the settings that were stored from the combo and transfer those to the new amp? Thanks for any help you can give me! Skot
