  1. If I have a spider IV and a fbv longboard can I use an m13. Are they compatible?
  2. Hi, I’m looking at replacing my original cable that connects my fbv express mkii pedal to my Spider V 240 head as Iv recently broken the clip on the rj45 connector and also noticed the plastic cable sleeve beginning to split due to wear and tear, exposing the inner wires. The writing on the cable itself says it’s a Cat5e cable and iv looked at the wiring pins/colours and know it’s a straight type, not a crossover type. My question is can I use a Cat6 cable to replace the cat5e? Iv heard that using the wrong cable can kill the amp and/or pedal. I’m looking at getting a nylon/flat cable for more durability instead of the cheaper hard plastic ones but can only find these types for Cat6 upwards. thanks scott
  4. Although I actually do enjoy well-written manuals - and I would put Line6 manuals in that category - the ones for the Spider Jam and the FBV Express II are for the most part too technical for me. Well, not so much technical as an avalanche of tech-terminology that the writers clearly expect me to already know. My eyes glaze over. My difficulty is that nowhere can I find how you assign a particular guitar tone on the Jam amp to one of the four foot buttons on the FBV pedal. The pedal is s/hand, and works fine, but the buttons take me to the previous owner's four favourites and I don't know how to change that. Unless I've missed it, neither the Jam's manual nor the FBV's manual explain how you do it. Or they do, but I don't recognise it for what it is. I appreciate that the real difficulty is probably me but, if I'm to make any progress, I need a simple plain-language step-by-step explanation. Can anyone help?
  5. Hello Guitar Pros and sonic experts. I got an issue with my FBV Shortboard MkII because it goes blank when i connect it to my POD 2.0. It does not seem to control the thing. Am i doing something wrong here? or is the Shortboard MkII just not able to control or not compatible to my POD 2.0? and if not, is it possible to mod the FBV shortboard MkII so that it can control my POD 2.0? I need your help. Pls advise. Rgds NT
  6. I ,by chance, bought a spider 3 30 watt today at low low money and why I bought it...im really fed up hogging my vetta 2 combo to rehersal and the spider 3 is easy moved...it works for me. Now,id really like a pedal to change channels on the spider and i have the longboard for the vetta 2 but will it work on the spider 3 30 watt or do i need an fbv express pedal?
  7. Hello, I have recently aquired an used X3 (bean) with a FBV Express MkII controller. This all works fine, but when I configure the pedal control in GearBox to "Both Tones", "1 1=twk|2=vol" and "2 1=twk|2=vol" and under Tweak "Mod:Mix" under both, the footswitch pedal does not actually alter the Mix option for the Modulation (which is enabled) on both Tones (Dual enabled). I tried other options for Tweak and they don't seem to react either. When the settings are on 1=w/v|2=twk for example, the footswitch pedal does alter the volume and can switch Wah on. Anybody any idea? I can tweak the pedal settings with FBV Controller but that should only be used if the controller is connected with USB to the PC. The controller works with the network cable on the bean.
  8. Hallo, I purchased an FBV3 pedal to control my Amplify. It works great and the midi controll software is easy to use too. Since Amplify has no looper and there is no easy way to integrate a classic external looper, I thought maybe I can connect both, Amplify AND computer and use a software looper controlled by FBV pedal. Can I switch FBV3 back to control Amplify mode while the USB cable is attached? Thank for any advice and/or oppinionon the topic. Yours recoder

  10. Hi everyone, I have an Amplifi 150 and i kinda love the guitar effects and was considering to buy a pedal footswitch to control its effects. Which pedal is better suited/your preference while using it with an AMplifi? FBV Shortboard MKII or FBV 3? I noted that the FBV 3 has some features (E.g. Programmable lights) Which are not compatible with Amplifi 150. FBVShortboard MKII: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv-shortboard-mkii FBV 3: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv3 Thanks!
  11. Hi all! I hope someone is able to help me shed some light on my situation. I have an old Pod XT which works fine. I recently managed to buy a FBV Longboard (two expression pedal board) and when I plug it into the xt it shows 'Line 6' on the display but none of the buttons change anything on the pod other than when I click the wah pedal in which does work. Nothing else seems to work though. Has anyone got any ideas? I've updated Line 6 Monkey, firmware e.t.c and still I only get the wah function working and nothing else. Thanks everyone! Ryan
  12. Hello everyone I recently bought an fbv shortboard for my pod hd pro. Unfortunately, when plugging the shortboard in to my pod, it simply isn't being detected at all. No lights, no functions. I then hooked it up to my computer via USB were it was detected. I updated all drivers and flash via line 6 monkey. I couldnt find any help on the internet on how to get the fbv to work with the pod! This is really really disappointing. However, I then plugged the shortboard into to VARIAX input of my pod (I know this is not were it goes, but i needed to find out, whether the cable worked at all) and the shortboard was detected, but i simply couldnt do anything with it. Would someone please tell me, what I am doing wrong? P.S. I tried calibrating the pedal and that wont work (via USB to computer) either.
  13. Has anyone ever actually tried a FBV Shortboard Mk1 with an Amplifi product via the FBV input? I realise everything says officially only the MkII (2) Shortboard will work, but given the only real difference appears to be a lack of a USB port, I'm thinking it should work? Obviously I would not be able to re-program the board via the USB software like the MkII. Thanks, M.
  14. Look that pretty FBV 3... easily the most appealing MIDI foot controller out there. But they have again missed the opportunity to have the best MIDI foot controller by omitting MIDI DIN connections. You still can get a MIDI-USB to MIDI-DIN converter as the Kenton MIDI USB Host MKII but... at 125€. A very expensive price for a device that only does one thing. But .. what would have been the supplement in the price of the FBV3 if already included MIDI DIN In/Out? Probably just a few dollars. At least they are considering adding the possibility of changing the color of the LEDs, based on the proposal I made in ideascale. But it bothers me a lot to have to spend 125 € extra on a fcking USB converter due to a bad design decision, which in addition they have already committed many times, again and again, with all those prior FBVs. All this could also be applied to the Helix controller, of course. Here the case is even more blatant, because it can not even be used as a USB MIDI controller. Guys, have you seen the sad panorama regarding MIDI foot controllers? Old models such as the Boss FC-300 or the Yamaha MFC10, expensive and limited. Or other very expensive artifacts offered by esoteric brands... When you have the one (or two) that could be the best MIDI foot controler in the market, only if you add MIDI DIN inputs and outputs. You also missed the IOS connectivity by ommiting a direct standard 9V AC connector. (as the ipad cannot feed enough juice to the FBV3 thru USB) Why, Line 6, WHY? What strange reasoning has led you to omit such things?
  15. So I have been using the FBV Express MKII with a Spider IV 30w amplifier for about 7 months without any issues I tried to connect it with my pc (without sucess for not having the right software installed I think) and nothing went wrong. The leds were lit when connected to the pc, but just as I tried it again on the amp nothing happened. I still get that 'click' whenever I plug it in but it seems to be dead. I've tried to restart my pc so it could recognize the unit, but it just doesn't happen anymore Are there any obvious solutions for this issue? I'll be needing the pedal for the next week so please, I need to get help as soon as possible Thank you
  16. Hi Guys I know the Helix Control is the recommended footswitch for the Helix, but has anyone had any luck getting the helix to Recognise the FBV Express / Shortboards to work with the Helix? I have not been able to get my shortboards to be recognised, which is a shame as i was hoping to use that instead of my FCB1010 with the helix. Many of us HDPRO users that have upgraded, would still like to be able to use their footswiches :)
  17. lollipop you line 6... After 6 years i couldnt fix my Spider IV 150w... It just came with fabric issue, it restarts ramdonly and you NEVER EVER said NOTHING to your customers about this issue that SO MANY people had with their amps. (It seems like a Main Board issue.. Oh... The brain of the amp...) And so many people just take it back, but i couldnt do that because i bought it in USA when i was traveling, but im from Venezuela, so, take back the amp to store or to the technical support was more expensive than the amp. Really, just lollipop you... I'll never buy anything Line 6 in my lollipoping entire life, and i'll say it to every guitarist i know... I bought your lollipoping publicity, your digital lollipop and lights, but not an amp... Just got my new FENDER BLUES JR 15w TUBE AMP months ago and let me tell you, it was cheaper (500$) and IT IS lollipopING AWESOME, sound A LOOOOOOT BETTER and its loud as lollipop If you are reading this, and looking for an amp... DONT BUY line6 amps if you want to be a serious guitarist, dont let them mesmerize with all their desing and lollipop... if you have a budget, and want an amp for LIFETIME, really, just look for another options. Out there you can find awesome solid state or tube amps for the same price (or even cheaper). Thanks for stole my lollipoping money (Spider IV 150w + Fbv Shortboard MKII = 700$ 6 years ago), and goodbye line6 forum
  18. Does the FBV Express MKII work with the rack-mount POD HD PRO X to capture presets? I am primarily bass, so maybe 2-3 head, cabinet, effects combo presets as well as rhythm guitar with another 2-3 combo presets through the A-D pedal toggles after getting the settings in the POD HD PRO X. I would be using the volume/wha primarily as volume. Greatly appreciate any experience insight. ttrenchj
  19. I recently got an Amplifi 150 and it came with the FBV shortboard MKII. When I step on the foot switch buttons it won't switch the tone until the button is released. On other amps I own it engages the effects as soon as the button is pressed down not when the button is released. Everything in the monkey says the FBV is up to date and the Amplifi is too. Any ideas? Thanks
  20. Hi everyone.. I had a Line 6 Spider Valve 212, and when i plug in FBV2 footswitch its delay when i want to switch betwen chanels, and after that it changes randomly... 21. I purchased a FBV Shortboard MKII today for my LD300 bass amp. Works splendid, except for 1 thing: I cant go back to manual mode, using the shortboard. The amp's manual says that i need to keep the active preset pressed until the amp goes into manual mode, but that doesnt happen. I also tried to tap it once, keep it pressed, but nothing works. What am i doing wrong? btw, Shortboard has the latest firmware loaded.
  22. I have a Spider IV 120 and a FBV Shortboard MKII. The FBV is connected to my computer via USB and I'm using the Line 6 FBV Control software. I want to assign the built in expression pedal that is typically controlling volume on my Spider or the external expression pedal "PEDAL 2" to whatever it is that controls the "FX3" "Mix" parameter on the Spider. In other words, I want to control the level of the mix parameter on the delay effect via one of those continuous controllers. I see things in the list like "002 - Breath Control" and "080 General Control 8", but which one of those things controls that delay mix parameter, and where do I look that up for the Spider IV 120? See attached screenshot. Thanks in advance for any help you offer!
  23. Hi guys, I have googled this problem and scanned the forums and have not seen any solutions. What I want to do is be able to change the ABCD on my pedals in the banks to my own settings. Example: I want to play tool lateralus. (bank1) A) intro B)course C)solo ect. but then switch to bank 2 for the next song. I guess the problem is I do not want the presets that are already in place, I would like to alter them to fit my own playstyle. I cannot plug in the spider jam to my computer as it physically just cant do that. So I am all out of ideas.
  24. I assigned my FBV pedal (Exp2) to a delay feedback block with a minimum value and maximum value. Now when I choose that patch, I can add more delay feedback with the pedal. However, it seems to be active as soon as I hit the patch. Sometimes this is not appropriate depending on where the pedal happens to be at the time. I'm having to bring the pedal back to minimum for the default setting while playing that patch. I'd like to avoid that extra 'step' (see what I did there?) Is there a way to tell the patch to keep the default delay feedback setting I programmed it with, UNLESS I start using the pedal?
  25. Hi all I'm not sure if this is the right category to post this topic, but here goes.. I've got a spider valve 112 MKii and an FBV shortboard mkII. I also have the UX2 sound card which I use with pod farm 2 software. Now I use the shortboard to do all the good things I can do with the Spider Valve, but I also want to use it as a controller for the pod farm. I've read the FBV manual and I've seen I can do that and also save setting patches for the FBV. My question is this, if I connect the FBV to my computer and farm2, change settings and save a patch and then unplug everything and plug the FBV to the Spider Valve, will it work as before? Or do I have to save a special patch for the SV somewhere and load it everytime I want to use it with my amp? I guess whatever the answer is, the same would be true for the FBV Express mkii, right? Thanks in advance!!
