    New questions

    I am a buyer interested in buying Spider V 1 12 or 2 12. I tried it and I like it but I have questions that music store cant answer? 1- Does Spider V have an acoustic simulator? 2- Is the full range on at all times or only on some patches? 3- How does the amp handle the tweeter? If you are starting a new patch? 4- Can I play guitar synth or an acoustic guitar and expect it to play full range? Or do I need to tweak or Eq the tweeter in? Thank you Ozzy
  3. Well, Helix firmware and software 2 with new features, amps and effects are more than 3 months old … Will the journey go on and will we get more amps and effects in the feature? Line 6 told us that Helix is not a finished system when the sold it for the first time. And I am impatiently waiting for new features, amps and effect … I hope we won't have to pay for it.   4. I'm not in very deep, But I have read the manuals and have tinkered some. Is there a way to create a kind of "crossover" in the pre-A/B block? Perhaps a LPF on the lower wire and an HPF on the upper wire. Any thoughts? Anyone try this? Wondering about bi-amping potential this way. It would be cool if Line6 added a dedicated splitter/crossover in the Pre-A/B position-- in a similar spirit to the included the mixer in the Post-A/B position. It could have two modes: if the prior block is stereo, it would provide settings to route L & R from a stereo block to the A or B path. If the prior block is mono, it could provide a crossover option to send highs to one path and lows to the other. Being able to control the both the A/B pan, and cross-over frequency in realtime. That would be awesome. I would have liked to see more a few more realtime control sources for parameters. For example, have 4 assignable MIDI CC's, 2 LFO generators, and two dynamic envelopes based on any input source (even for side-chaining). This would allow realtime control and automation in a DAW, In the UI, the list of available controls would expand to include: EXP1, EXP2, LFO1, LFO2, ENV1, ENV2, A-MIDI CC, B-MIDI CC B, C-MIDI CC, D-MIDI CC. Then use system settings to configure each of the new controls. In the signal flow screen, there could be some change to show double-wires for stereo fx-- and split to show when L goes to A and R goes to B. It would also be cool if there was some little underline to show how much CPU is being used by which blocks. Sometimes the designers were faithful to the originals avoiding adding controls that were lacking in the originals, and sometimes they added them. I think it would be good if they added a 2nd page to some FX models to add in "modern" alterations where appropriate. I'd also like to see a modern compressor with: threshold, ratio, knee, attack & release times, and make-up gain. Don't interpret this as whining. I'm pretty happy with the HD500 (now that I've repaired the buttons and broken encoder on this used unit).

I recently saw these go on sale at Sweetwater for $799. maybe I can talk them down to $499 or $599 I've been in the market for a good tube amp, and was looking at a Pevey 6505+ and a Mesa Rectoverb. not so sure about spending $1300 on a Mesa amp, and the 6505 is basically a Metal Monster, not great with the cleans. my question is Would this amp be suited well for Jazz and Hard rock/Metal; I Never plan to use a POD 500 or anything like that, I have a very nice pedal board I've worked on for a few years, or would I be better off looking at other tube amps for playing live?
  6. Issue: In some rare cases, connecting a supported device to unlock the LE feature set fails to work with Cubasis LE on iOS 8. Solution: Please restart Cubasis LE and make sure the included demo song properly plays back through the built-in speaker of your iPad. Afterwards, connect a supported device to unlock the LE feature set. If the unlock procedure keeps failing on iOS 8, please update your iPad device to iOS 9 and try again.
  7. Just bought and registered my 1st Variax Standard, downloaded WOrkbench HD, and was able to connect. On 1st connection, WB-HD downloaded presets from the guitar, and I saved that bundle under a new name. However, it is my understanding that WB-HD has a new "improved" default preset bundle. How can I tell which bundle I have in my Variax? And if not the most current bundle, where can I get it and upload it to my guitar? appreciate any help.
  8. What features can I expect if I connect my Variax to my Spider Mk-IVm75W amps? Have 2 amps, one controlled with a FBV Longboard and the other with FBV Express. Can I either connect the Variax RJ45 directly to the Amp's RJ45 (displacing the pedal boards), or is there any point to connecting the Variax RJ45 to the pedal controllers' RJ45, and then connecting the Pedal controller's USB to a computer? Would any of these get my DAW to recognize my Variax signal. My main point is that I want pure Variax sound, and therefore not simply going thru a 3rd party I/O box (Presonus AudioBox iOne or AudioBox USB Stereo). I just want to record direct to Presonus Studio One v3.2 Pro DAW from my Variax, after seeing a YouTube video that does this w ProTools.

V2.0 Firmware provides improved performance as well as upgraded features and/or compatibility to existing Line 6 XD-V70 systems and separates: XD-V70 Transmitters RF2 mode in addition to the original RF1 mode 14 channel capability in RF2 mode or 12 channel in RF1 mode. XD-V70 Receivers Ability to lock to RF1 or RF2 mode transmitters 14 channel capability in RF2 mode A new RF Scan capability which identifies RF1, RF2 transmitters as well as possible interference sources on Line 6 channels. Switching between RF1 and RF2 Mode The XD-V70 V2.0 Firmware utilizes our latest digital wireless transmission method, and is fully channel compatible with the XD-V75 running RF2 mode. Multiple units of either of these models can be used together within the same location, as long as each unit is on a unique channel and no more than 14 units are used simultaneously. The XD-V70 receivers running V2.0 Firmware can automatically receive transmissions from previous generation of Line 6 wireless products, including the XD-V30, XD-V70, and Relayâ„¢ G30, Relayâ„¢ G50, and Relayâ„¢ G90 models with pre Version 2.0 Firmware, now referred to as RF1 mode. However, it is recommended to NOT mix usage of the RF1 and RF2 modes within the same location due to the channel frequencies in each system not being compatible. Depending on the situation, it may be desirable to switch transmitters from RF2 back to RF1 mode. To set THH12 or TBP12 transmitters running V2.0 firmware into RF1 mode, enter Setup mode to display the current channel, then while holding down the SELECT button, press and release the ON/MUTE button on the THH12 or VALUE button on the TBP12. The display will briefly show [XD-V7x RF1] or [XD-V7x RF2] to indicate whether it is operating in the old or new mode, respectively. This setting is retained when powering off, so as a reminder the display will also show this indication [RF1 or RF2] each time power is turned on. The XD-V7x receiver will display a [To] on the far right of the display to indicate while communicating with a RF1 software transmitter. RF Scan Mode Channel Scanning Procedure V2.0 firmware adds a sophisticated scanning capability that can determine the existence of interfering wireless devices that may compromise the performance range of operation on certain channels, and can also help assure selected wireless mic channels do not interfere with other wireless devices. Use the following procedure to minimize interference: if you are adding new wireless units to a previous installation with Line 6 systems, first turn on the existing transmitters so their frequencies can be detected. Press the SETUP button on the receiver. The [sELECT FUNCTION] screen will appear; scroll with the ROTARY ENCODER to [CHANNEL SCAN], and press the ROTARY ENCODER to begin the scanning process. After approximately 6 seconds, the display will show channel numbers 1 through 14 on the bottom line, with a status indicator above each channel. The indicators and their applications are: Note: No audio will function while the receiver is on this channel-scanning page; you must select a channel by pressing the ROTARY ENCODER or press the EXIT button and leave the page to resume audio. Turn the ROTARY ENCODER to scroll through the list of channels; a flashing underline will follow the channel number as you scroll. Once you have highlighted a blank, unused channel, press the ROTARY ENCODER to select it. The receiver display will return to the main page with the new channel number shown. Note: Any of the channels can be selected, regardless of the RF conditions displayed for the channel. Selecting a channel showing significant RF interference can result in lessened range for the associated transmitter.
