  1. Hi, every time I start the Firehawk remote app on my iPhone it automatically starts playing music from my iTunes account. How do I stop this from happening please? I’ve turned off the access to ITunes and that has stopped it for the time being but that can’t be the answer? thanks, Paul
  2. Got the new limited edition Veriax standard onyx guitar ordered and would like to pair it up with one of the Line 6 modelers, can not afford the Helix so thats out of the question, so which would you buy and why?, the Firehawk or the Pod HD500X, keep in mind i dont play out, just play at home, thanks.
  3. I just bought a Firehawk 1500 with the FBV 3 floor pedal, and I'm wondering how to properly hook up an external loop pedal. I'm running a JTV-69 into the Firehawk 1500 via VDI cable. I have my FX send on the back of the FH1500 going into my loop pedal's input (boss RC300), and then my loop pedal's output is going back into FX return. With the current setup I have, I can hear my previously recorded loops through the amp, but I can't record anything new through the guitar. The loop pedal is only recieving the FX, not the input from my guitar. Is there any way to make this work as I want it to? I haven't been able to figure this out. Thanks.
  4. Hello friends I have just gotten a Firehawk and I have som problems understanding a few (probably silly and easy) things with the alternative "four cable method" and the Firehawk. It's been correctly connected (thanks for all instructions about that) and when the FX Loop is turned on I can use all the effects nicely. But when I turn the FX Loop off of the FH there is no sound at all? It's like the amp I'm running FH through is turned off. And I cannot (FX Loop turned on or off) hear any of my playback music. The music that normally via bluetooth gets sent to the poweramp What can be the problem do you think? If I plug the FH stright inte the "guitar in" on my amp or just use my amp without FH then the amp works fine but somehow the 4 cable method seem to disconnect the poweramp in my amp (or something) Thanks in advance for help and have a bjotiful x-mas Fish ps. pic is to show my setup in my ipad ds
  5. Did anyone else come from a Firehawk and use the old Tube Drive stompbox (not the HD one, but the old one) and find that the Valve driver in the Helix (both of which I believe are meant to model a Chandler Tube Driver) doesn't sound anything like it at all? I'm a worship leader for my church and that Tube Drive was the core of the tone that I used for pretty much everything I played. It was extremely responsive to how hard you picked the strings so you could easily go from completely clean, picking it light, to pretty well cooked when you dug into the strings which was amazing for what I used it for and I didn't have to do much pedal dancing because it gave me such a range of tone just from my pick. I recently upgraded to the Helix excited for the options I had to work with in using multiple delays and reverbs and play with the signal chain some more, but I can't seem to build even the basic tone on the Helix that I had from the Firehawk, which is frustrating. I also used one of the line 6 amp models, the Line 6 21st Century Clean after the Tube Drive and it is described by line 6 as this: Line 6 21st Century Clean – To create this Amp Model, we essentially grafted the preamp and tone stack of a JC120 (Roland’s popular “Jazz Chorus†solid state combo) onto the power amp and transformer of a classic Marshall® JTM-45 tube head, thereby giving you the crisp and clear front end typical of a solid state amp, but with a rich, satisfying tube amp-style bite as you turn it up. The Helix doesn't have this as an amp and doesn't seem to be able to let me create it by stacking a preamp onto a poweramp like they did in the Firehawk model. This isn't as necessary to the sound I had as the Tube Drive was, but I'm surprised that in my "upgrade" to the Helix I seem to have lost some of the options that made me love line 6. The closest I've been able to come to a similar sound as far as the Tube Drive model goes is using an Essex A-30 (AC30) with the drive up between 5 and 7, but I can't seem to get as clean as I'd like when I play lightly or as edgy as I'd like when I pick hard like I did on the Firehawk. I also tend to get pretty shrill high end when playing full open chords or triads up a ways on the neck which I never had before with the Firehawk. Any chance the old original line 6 model of the Tube Drive stompbox could be brought back into the Helix and also the option of grafting pre-amp to power amps? Anyone else had similar issues or ideas of what to try? Thanks!
  6. I just picked up a Firehawk FX from GC today and I went to power it up but nothing seems to be happening. The A light is lit and the display back light is on but i cant get it to do anything else. I think it was an open box item because when they give it to me it looked like it was open but they assured me it was fine. I could be doing something wrong but i have done the factory reset, holding the volume button and the tap switch while turning it on, and i have tried the pedal calibration. Let me know if there is something that i am missing. Thank you Erick
  7. Hi fellas 1st post here so please be gentle. I have recently joined a band after a few years out and am using a FHFX. The question I have is, Is there a way to have 2 identical patches but with different volumes that I can put next to each other so I have a rhythm patch and a lead patch? Thanks in advance
  8. you can use this emulator on your windows 10 PC, https://www.bluestacks.com/#gref Bluestacks will allow you to install the google play app Firehawk Remote. then click the keyboard once you are in to set up what keys you are using for various actions I used arrows for swipes, save it and have at it.
  9. Please, Line 6, give us a Windows app for Firehawk FX control? Yeah, I'm sure this has been request before, and probably numerous times. Still, I've got to ask. I've got my old iPad 4th Gen working just fine with the Firehawk, but I opted to purchase a Microsoft Surface instead of getting an iPad Pro. I am more than happy with my decision as the Surface is far less expensive, far more powerful, and it's not an iPad. :) I only wish there was an app for the Firehawk that works natively in Windows. I've tried the Android emulators, but with little success, certainly nothing that was reliable.
  10. Hi Is there any chance of a firehawk firmware and flash update for Windows Vista? Ive already spaffed all my money on this new pedal, and cant afford a Windows 7 pc to update. This renders all the fancy android app stuff useless. Alternatively, can the firmware be updated over and android phone's bluetooth connection? Thanks
  11. Hi! I'm new to all this and recently got a Shuriken Variax and a Firehawk FX (no, I didn't go for the Helix as my bank account didn't allow it). ;) I have a couple of questions around the full functionality of the Firehawk utilising the Shuriken via VDI. 1. Is there a way to specifically control the individual string settings (other than the tuning)? e.g. volume levels of each string? The reason I ask this is that some of the default pre-sets I go to seem to only have the specific strings enabled. For example, on the "01C. American Clean" patch: - <position> = <String enabled> - Position 1 = Only top E string - Position 2 = All strings ok - Position 3 = E B G D A not working but bottom E working - Position 4 = Bottom E and A ok rest seems soft - Position 5 = All ok but soft when compared to position 2 2. Somewhat relates to 1 but via the Firehawk iOS app, when in Variax mode, it only looks like you can control the tuning on each string. Any way of configuring each string settings or do I need to go into the Workbench? Pretty sure I'll have more questions depending on the responses I get! Look forward to it and thanks in advance! Nigel
  12. I can't update my firehawk fx, allready download the line 6 updater but cant finde the firehwk with usb conecting, is a new pedalboard and cant do nothing with here. Please Help, i use a Pc with Windows 7 Thanks
  13. So I am further down the rabbit hole with the Firehawk FX. Truth be told, I have been following alot of the Pod HD500x and Helix training videos on youtube due to the massive lack of presence the Firehawk seems to have out there in the wild. There is really nothing available on it compared to these other device. One helix video I came across was normalizing patch volumes using your computer DAW/interface. I found it very valuable. You can see that video here: Reading up around the Helix forums as well lead me to realize alot of people use their computer DAW to set patch volumes. The general consensus is, because this is a DIGITAL device (I still have a hard time realizing I have to treat this thing differently than a standard amp, because of digital clipping) is that your patch volumes should hit about -12DB on your input meter with your most authoritative strum - when you whack at your strings the hardest it should peak about -12 db. I run my Firehawk into my Yorkville YX10P with the following consistencies: Output volume (main red rings) = 50% Guitar volume (white red rings) = 54% (or the exact middle of the dial) This seems to be a common practise to keep things consistent across the board. With my guitar input volume right in the middle at 54%, I noticed that basically all my patches as they are currently set were clipping HARD. Amps' that I had set for Channel volume slider at 70% or sometimes 50% had to be brought down generally into the 20-25% channel volume range for the signal to hit that -12DB marker on my DAW. Theoretically then...with alot of the amp volumes down much lower, I can push my Firehawk master output volume (red ring) higher, which from what I am reading online would give me a better signal to noise ratio overall. So that leads me to the following questions regarding 'digital guitar' rigs. Is this normal? For whatever reason it seems like the channel volumes are SO low in this configuration. However there is an interplay here between the guitar input volume (white ring) and the channel volume. If I decrease the guitar input volume, then naturally there is less signal to the Firehawk and therefore the channel volumes would like come up higher to compensate. Would both of these situations sound the same ultimately? Is one better than the other? I assume that having the volumes lower like this WILL reduce digital clipping and probably make my guitar sound better overall. Also, with a much more higher powered FRFR like the Stagesource L2M or something, I would be able to push a louder cleaner signal into it by having the ability to run the overall master volume (red ring) higher. Anybody have any feedback on this? I am new to digital guitar rigs so please bare with me as I try to sort this out with a little help from my friends! Thanks crew :D
  14. Talking of the v.1.30 update, I don't know whether anyone else has posted this, but if you search for the FH1500 updates, it explains what v.1.30 does (on the FH1500, at least!). Does anybody know whether this also applies to the FHFX? Clearly there would have to be a different way of accessing it as we don't have a 'preset' button on the floor unit. It says - "New Features Block Bypass, Expression controllers, and Looper functions can now be triggered by incoming MIDI CCs (MIDI DIN only). Please see the following KB article for more information: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/firehawk-1500/firehawk-1500-and-midi-cc-r860 XLR output volume can now be adjusted from Live Edit Mode. This was implemented to avoid clipping the ADC prematurely. It is set to -15dB by default, to provide adequate headroom for mid to high gain tones. To edit the XLR output volume: 1. Press the preset knob to enter Live Edit Mode. 2. Scroll left to "Etc:ReAmp/MIDI/Main" and press the preset knob. 3. Scroll right to "Etc:XLR Out" 4. Turn the Main (Big) Knob to set the value. Bug Fixes Various bug fixes and improvements" The KB article says - Firehawk 1500 v1.30.0 now responds to individual incoming midi to control various effect block bypass controls, expression pedal values, or triggers virtual foot switches (like FBV3). Prior to this, Firehawk 1500 previously only responded to and sent out program change messages. All MIDI control is thru the MIDI DIN ports only, no MIDI over USB functionality has been implemented. Here's the updated reference chart And the charts -
  15. Is it possible to hook up bluetooth headphones with the Firehawk FX? To use as a monitor. Thanks!
  16. Hi, is there any way to change the brightness of the lcd-screen on the Firehawk? Yesterday I had a performance at a vaguely sun-lit stage, and I wasn't able to read the name of the settings…I actually had the same problem with the led-buttons…so I was guessing the whole time. Not a fun way to play…got me pretty nervous at times.
  17. Hi! This is a bug and a bit nasty one, but I have no clue as where to report such bugs - would this forum be the correct place? If I have an amp enabled with quite the amount of gain, and I then enable the compressor it creates an ugly spike in the volume for a short moment. This when I let the guitar ring while enabling the compressor. If I than disable and enable the compressor again there's no such volume spike. This should be reported back to line6 somehow. Can others here verify it? I've already had other users on facebook acknowledge this spike.
  18. Dumb question about the FX Loop block when working with patches.... Is this for the actual physical FX Loop on the device itself (for external pedals, etc) or can it be used as a digital representation of an FX loop in a simulated chain - ie - you want your mods and delays in your patch to be in the amps FX Loop, so you put the FX Loop after the amp? Does that make sense? Or ...with the way the patch chain works, as long as your delay/mod blocks are AFTER the amp block in a preset, then its acting as being in the 'fx loop' so to speak...
  19. Just purchased an Amplifi 75 over this past weekend and its my first time diving into this system. To make a long story short - I totally dig the system and I am now looking at my options. This led me into the path of buying the new FBV MK3 floorboard to control my amp and patches....however.... that got me into thinking I could buy the Firehawk FX (which is everything the amplifi is, and the FBV3) but does NOT have the speaker. I am a Dad / busy / hobbyist guitarist and I like the idea of having the amplifi in my office to get me jamming out a few minutes each day. The Firehawk gets me more 'things' per se - the floor board control, the HD amp models, all the iOS control, etc. but just no speaker. I would be basically removing the live speaker element out of the equation and likely only ever playing with headphones. I paid $549 for the amplifi. The Firehawk FX is $599. If I purchase the FBV3 to go with my amplifi that is $549 + $349 = a hell of a lot more than the Firehawk current....again, with no speaker or sound. What would you do?
  20. Can the firehawk 1500 amps do all the orange amps because I just need one amp for gigging. All my orange amps are heavy to bring around so can the firehawk 1500 do that.
  21. I propose to make the noisegate shiftable. Specially the ability to shift AFTER the effectsblock in order to cancel hums of extreme distortion pedals
  22. When I switch on the wah in a certain patch on the firehawk fx I notice that the loudness increases in comparison to the original volume. It is not possible to change the volume of the wah effect. Does anyone know how to get the same loudness with the wah pedal switched on and off?
  23. If you have had the Pod Desktop unit (the black one, Pod HD), how does the Firehawk compare. I've heard someone say that it has pretty much the same effects, just as a foot pedal version. I have the desktop unit, but really like what I'm reading review wise, of the Firehawk. Thanks!
  24. First time poster here so please go easy! I've been a fan of Line 6 products since the late 90's and have owned various products over the years. I recently got a powered Kemper Profiling amp but looking into the FRFR vs Cab debate just leaves me feeling dizzy as its all opinion/interpretation. So.....my question is this: Can you bypass all the effects etc on a Firehawk 1500 and simply use it as an FRFR speaker output for the Kemper? Bearing in mind that both units are 'powered', I wouldn't want to blow either device to bits! According to a few guys I've spoken to at various music shops, you can bypass the effects on the Firehawk but how would I connect it to the Kemper to simply use it as an FRFR speaker outlet given that it is also powered? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  25. Any suggestions on a decent pc software for running my Firehawk FX into? Preferable a free software. I have the free version of amplitube 3. It will work? What type of cable do I need? Thanks for any suggestions and help.
