Hi everyone, I just bought a Firehawk, and so far I am pretty pleased with it. I have a couple of questions: (thanks in advance) 1) I want to connect my ipad to the usb port in the back of the firehawk, but I don't know what type of usb port that is so I can buy it on line. It has this "funny" type shape. 2) I am plugging the output to an amp, does it matter what type of guitar cable I use (balance, unbalanced, etc) Same with the cable going to my student montiors (I am using a three prong cable for that.. not sure what the of the cable is...I am knew to all this) Thank you, Lguitarjsm

Hi Guys, new to the forum but have been aLine 6 user for many years. I currently use a rackmount Pod Pro with full floorboard and a JTV 59, along with a 'normal' guitar live. I use an AB switching pedal to send one or the other guitar's signal into the POD. I'm considering changing to a Firehawk FX, and was wondering if i could connect the JTV59 via the VDI cable to the firehawk, and my 'normal' guitar to the 1/4" jack input, and somehow switch between the guitars that way? Is this possible? Also in my current setup i use another AB box to switch the guitars to the POD or to a seperate channel on the Mixing desk for Acoustic sounds from the JTV. How might this work with the Firehawk? Finally, on the POD Pro i use the XLR outputs to the desk and 1/4" jack outputs to a stereo power amp going into 2 Marshall 1x12s, will i still be able to do this? Many thanks for your advice!

You may have noticed a feature in the Settings Menus on the Firehawk/Amplifi Remote app called Advanced Routing. This feature helps manage having multiple Firehawk/Amplifi devices when connected, so you could Airplay music to another Bluetooth device while still controlling tones on a particular device. It would allow you to airplay the music stream to something other than the Firehawk/Amplifi, while still controlling tones on the unit. If you pair two Firehawk/Amplifi to a single mobile device, you should see some additional options as well.

This might be a silly question, but what is to stop someone with the Remote App on their phone to hijack your settings while on stage? Is there a way to disable the Bluetooth on the amp to prevent this? Or can only one device be paired at one time? Many thanks for any input. BTW - the Firehawk 1500 is really cool!

Hi there, Does anybody know what kind of DAC and/or amp is behind the headphone out jack on the Firehawk FX? When I connect the Firehawk to my computer via USB and play AIFF for FLAC files from iTunes, the music has much more clarity, instrument separation, and clean power than just plugging headphones straight into my iMac headphone jack. Jamming with my favorite songs is a very high sound quality experience. I use Sennheiser HD598 headphones, so that helps. Because the result it similar to using a dedicated USB DAC/headphone amp combo, I just wondered what's in the Firehawk that makes it sound so good. Anybody know? Or is that a trade secret?

Just wondering, as I ideally want to run an additional pedal board along side my Firehawk fx with additional stompboxes but still be able to turn all effects off via the Firehawk when changing presets. If this is possible could someone tell me how I can achieve this? Thanks so much

Hi, Recently my POD X3 Live stopped working; I had an electrician look at it and he found out that the power switch wasn't working so he's sorted that for me - so I can use my X3 again; but it brought home how old it is and that I should probably replace it but here's my problem. These are the amp models that I use on my X3; exclusively in a Dual Tone setup with each amp panned 80% left/right. 2002 ANGEL P-Ball (2002 ENGL Powerball ch2) - not on the HD500X 2002 Bomber Uber (2002 Bogner Uberschall) HD500X 2002 Bomber X-TC (2002 Bogner Ecstasy) - not on the HD500X 1985 Cali Crunch (Mesa/Boogie Mark II-C+) - not on the HD500X 2003 Connor 50 (2003 Cornford mk50h) - not on the HD500X 2002 Criminal (2002 Peavey® 5150) - Pay to Win HD500X 2003 Deity Crunch (2003 Diezel VH4 ch3) - not on the HD500X 2003 Deity Lead (2003 Diezel VH4 ch4) - not on the HD500X 2003 Deity’s Son (2003 Diezel Herbert) - not on the HD500X 2001 Diamond Plate (Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier ch3) - not on the HD500X 2001 Treadplate Dual (Mesa/Boogie Dual Recitifier ch3) HD500X 2001 Zen Master (Budda Twinmaster) - not on the HD500X The Firehawk has the models sure, but it doesn't have Dual Tone. So from what I can tell there's no upgrade path from the X3 without loosing functionality; unless the firehawk has some secret way of doing dual tone? Anyone have any comments about this? Thanks.

Hello, Tuesday last week, I bought a Peavey ValveKing 100W used and a 2x12 Carvin custom made cabinet. We had our annual 3rd of July party, where my band plays in my backyard for a few hours, and I took the chance of using this combo for the first time live. I will need to work on my sounds a bit, but that's what the Firehawk is for, all is good there. My problem was, in order for me to get a good loud sound, I needed to crank up the master volume on the Firehawk and run the amp at about 2/3 volume level. I'm only using the clean channel on the amp and letting the patches give the modeling, I had plenty of power even for the open venue, but the output of the amp is low. If I switch to the Line Output mode, of course it gets extremely loud. Line output sounds fine, just a bit more noise, but tons more volume. I'm simply hooking my external volume pedal to the effects loop and 1/4 output of the Firehawk to the In 1 on the amp. Nothing tricky. Did try the 4 cable method a little bit ago, would have to completely change all my tones for that too work properly, and still the volume was real low. I'm curious about your experiences with that. Should I run in Amp Output or Line Output? Will Line Output damage my amp? Thanks, Jason

Hi guys, Long time L6 user but never posted here. :) I've both Firehawk 1500 and Helix. Very happy user. As the Firehawk has some really nice FX I would like to experiment and use out of my main Helix chains, would be awesome if the Helix could toggle on/off those effects via MIDI. As far as I can tell, MIDI on the 1500 is just working to change patches, but this seems odd to me as there's nothing preventing Helix to send Toggle command to the Firehawk which seems ready to receive MIDI. Also asking myself why adding a full MIDI section just to change up/down patch. Anyone know if we can use Helix, or any other third party MIDI controller, to toggle effects on/off on the FH1500? If the answer is no as it seems, is there anything preventing this to be a future update? Would be really awesome and the cherry on the cake to be the perfect companion for the Helix. Hi guys, I started this topic because I have a question concerning preset Firehawk vs. preset Helix. I purchased a year ago the Firehawk and I'm satisfied with the sounds I was looking for and the interface remote is oke but not enough, now 2 months ago I purchased the Helix for its great interface hardware and software for PC with Windows 10, so easy. And everyone was full of praise for the sounds. Especially the editor with 8 Setup list is very nice. But I find it hard to create my own sounds. I play in a cover band with a lot of different songs and sounds as you know. These are in my Firehawk. Now I try to copy the presets on my Firehawk, read "dial in." In the Helix. When I take the exact same amp cabinet in the Helix and Firehawk with compatible settings to compare. Then they sound so different with respect to each other. The Firehawk sounds better than the Helix I must say. But I am convinced that Helix also has to sound as good maybe better. My question is, is there any one of you who also has the Firehawk and the Helix. And make easy good sounds with the Helix. Can I send you one of my firehawk preset and ask you to make a copy preset for the Helix for me. I play on a Blade Rh2 in to the Firehawk or Helix in to the FOH. with rehearsal At home via mixer with 2 Adam monitors. Thanks for listening. sorry for my englisch

Firehawk 1500 arrived this morning. Very impressed. Default patches a bit eurgh, but have dialled in some nice ones of my own already. However, headphone output seems to be mono-only even when the output is wide stereo. Same headphones yield Stereo on my HD Pro X... Anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone use the FX loop much on their Firehawk? If so, what types of effects/pedals are you putting in the loop? Basically, the Firehawk has replaced my pedal board that I've been piecing together for years and I'm trying to be reasonable and sell off the pedals, since I simply don't use them much. But, also, if I can find any kind of decent excuse to keep some of them and start using them again, I will. Hence, the above question. Thanks!

AMPLIFi family and Firehawk Bluetooth Connectivity Troubleshooting

Please be aware that with the current AMPLIFi and Firehawk remote apps, connection problems can occur if the Bluetooth device is paired after the app has been opened. In this scenario, we suggest that you: fully quit the app (double click the home button and swipe the app off the dock) pair over Bluetooth launch the app CLICK HERE for a video tutorial on Bluetooth Pairing your AMPLIFi/Firehawk. To pair the AMPLIFi/Firehawk with your Bluetooth device: Enable Bluetooth on the device you would like to stream audio from. Put the AMPLIFi/Firehawk into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button located on the upper left of the top panel. It will begin to flash quickly to indicate it is in 'Pairing Mode', and the Master Volume knob's LEDs will change from solid red to flashing white. Within the Bluetooth options of your mobile device, an entry for 'AMPLIFi/Firehawk' will appear. Select the 'AMPLIFi/Firehawk' entry and pair with it. The Bluetooth LED will stop flashing and become solidly lit blue. Your AMPLIFi/Firehawk is now ready stream audio from your device and work with the Remote app. If you are experiencing unexpected Bluetooth performance such as audio playback drop outs, intermittent connectivity between your AMPLIFi/Firehawk and its Remote app, decreased range, or difficulty finding, pairing, and connecting to your Bluetooth device, you most likely are encountering interference with your Bluetooth connection. Here are some common sources of Bluetooth interference: Physical barriers such as the structure/material of the environment or objects in the surrounding area that are within the line of sight between the two devices. Any wireless device that operate in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency range. Wi-Fi devices, routers, hotspots, and accessories. Other Bluetooth devices or accessories. Direct Satellite Service system Extreme electrical sources such as power lines, electrical railroad tracks, and power stations. Try the following troubleshooting steps in the order they are listed to help minimize the amount of Bluetooth interference you are experiencing. Please refer to the Bluetooth pairing instructions above when following the troubleshooting steps below: Quit AMPLIFi remote by double clicking the home button and swiping the app up off the dock, then restart the app. Make sure you are in range of the Bluetooth accessory with which you are trying to pair with as most Bluetooth accessories have a range of around 30 feet. Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory. Reposition your AMPLIFi/Firehawk so that it is in direct line of sight with the Bluetooth device you are pairing it with. Remove the case, stand, or accessories you are using with your Bluetooth device. Double check that your device is successfully paired with your AMPLIFi/Firehawk. Delete/'forget' your AMPLIFi/Firehawk device from the list of available Bluetooth devices. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the upper left of the top panel for 2-3 seconds and let go; it should begin to blink quickly to indicate that your AMPLIFi/Firehawk is in 'Pairing mode'. Try again to pair your Bluetooth device with the AMPLIFi/Firehawk. Disable Bluetooth on the device you are using with your AMPLIFi/Firehawk, re-enable Bluetooth on the device and re-pair it with your AMPLIFi/Firehawk. Make sure the power cable in the AMPLIFi/Firehawk is firmly connected. Turn your AMPLIFi/Firehawk off and back on again, re-pair it with your Bluetooth device. Make sure that you have updated your AMPLIFi/Firehawk to the latest available firmware. For instructions on how to update your AMPLIFi's firmware, click HERE. Check for your environment for the common sources interference above of and move both the AMPLIFi/Firehawk and your Bluetooth device away from the interference or the source of interference away from the area. On iOS devices, you can reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.

Überprüfen Sie das Stromkabel das AMPLIFi und ob es sitzt. Schalten Sie das AMPLIFi aus, wieder ein und koppeln Sie erneut. I couldn't find any other topics about this so I figured I'd make a new post. Does anyone know if there's a way to control the Firehawk FX pedal board with a Windows laptop like the iOS app does? I love the iOS app but I'd prefer it if I could make the screen bigger like my laptop's screen.

In case you need to perform a pedal calibration for your Firehawk FX. Here are the steps: 1. Hold down footswitch A while powering on the unit. At startup the display will show "00" and footswitch D LED will be lit. 2. Press footswitch D to begin. The display will change to "01" and footswitch D LED will turn off. 3. Press the pedal forward firmly to toggle the pedal toe switch. The display will change to "02" and footswitch D LED will be lit. 4. Move the pedal to the heel position. 5. Press footswitch D. The display will change to "03" and footswitch D LED will be lit. 6. Move the pedal to the toe position (do not click the toe switch). 7. Press footswitch D. The display will change to "04". 8. Move the foot pedal and watch the values change on the display. Values will scroll from a min. of 0 to a max. of 99. 9. Press footswitch D to save the calibration values. The display will change to "05". 10. Power cycle the unit and your pedal is calibrated.

I am having an issue with the USB recording.. it will be working for a while then a small noise, and then the guitar is delayed by a full second (ironically the bluetooth audio from my iPhone is not interrupted at all).. just the guitar suddenly is delayed horribly...

Hi everyone, I just bought a Line 6 Firehawk, but I really want to know if there is an option to use the Live mode as in POD HD500 so I can use every switch as a stomp from F1-F5 and also use A - D as a stomp instead of using them to change banks. I'm looking at buying a Firehawk FX. However, I'd really like to be able to use some patches that were made for the Pod HD500x. Is this possible? If not this is going to make my decision between the Firehawk and Pod very difficult.

There's lots input and output options with the Firehawk line. Here's a breakdown. First let's look at what's the same on both units. USB port for updating firmware and use as an I/O interface. Variax input for any Line 6 Variax guitars 1/4" Stereo headphones (This will cut the speaker off on the 1500) 1/4" Stereo out XLR Stereo out 1/4" Stereo FX Send and Return Bluetooth Wireless for use with the Firehawk Remote app and any other Bluetooth streaming device Firehawk FX unique: 9VDC input for use with the DC3g power supply 1/4" jack for use with a outboard expression pedal (compatible with Line 6 EX1 and Mission Engineering EP1-L6) Firehawk 1500 unique: IEC power cable jack FBV cable jack for use with FBV 3 or FBV MKII MIDI in and out/thru Check out the Midi implementation chart in the manual for details XLR+1/4" Stereo Combo jacks with Gain Adjustment Knob. This is to be used with any source that you want the 1500 to be a FRFR stereo monitor. Like a Pod, Helix, or even an iPhone to play music.

Firehawk Effects Blocks Basics In the Firehawk Remote editor, there are 12 effects blocks that you can turn on and off, and assign different models and parameters to. Some of them can be dragged to different locations, some can't. Of these twelve blocks, only five of them can be assigned as: · Drives and Dynamics · Mods · Delays · Filters, Synths and Pitch A quick way to tell which three can be assigned these effects types is that they have a border around them: Notice Stomp, Synth and Mod all are bordered. However, Reverb is selected, so its border is brighter. Here's how to change the effect type of those three blocks: 1. Select one of the three blocks by touching it. In this example, we'll select Stomp. 2. The effect will then show the effect type (in this case, "stomp"), the effect name ("Facial Fuzz"), and a power button to the right to turn the effect on or off. Touch the effect type to change it. 3. You'll then see a "Type" button. Touch it. 4. The block types then appear. Choose one. 5. The block has been changed. There is no restriction on the number of similar effect types or effects assigned to these three blocks. Three stomps, each with a Fuzz Pi on it? Go for it! Just don't forget to save your tone (cloud icon, then disc icon).
