Q: What type of devices can FIREHAWK 1500 stream Bluetooth audio from? A: Firehawk 1500 can stream Bluetooth audio from any Androidâ„¢ device, iOS device, and Mac® or PC equipped with Bluetooth. Q: How do I pair my Bluetooth device with FIREHAWK 1500? A: To pair the Firehawk 1500 with your Bluetooth device: ∙ Enable Bluetooth on the device you would like to stream audio from. ∙ Put the FIREHAWK 1500 into ‘Pairing Mode’ by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button located to the left of the FIREHAWK 1500 logo- it will begin to flash to indicate it is in ‘Pairing Mode'. ∙ Within the Bluetooth options of your device an entry for ‘FIREHAWK 1500’will appear. ∙ Select the ‘FIREHAWK 1500’entry and pair with it - the Bluetooth LED will stop flashing and become solidly lit blue. Q: How do I update the FIREHAWK 1500's firmware? A: We always recommend that you run the latest firmware on your FIREHAWK 1500. Your FIREHAWK 1500 Remote application will inform you whenever a firmware update is available, so you'll always know you have the latest version! Q: What Bluetooth version is used in FIREHAWK 1500? What Bluetooth codecs are supported? A: We use a Bluetooth solution that supports Bluetooth 2.1. We only support the SBC codec at this time. Q: What Apple® iOS devices is Firehawk Remote compatible with? A: Press and hold the Master Volume knob and the Navigation Encoder (the scroll wheel) as you power up the unit. Unfortunately, any patches not backed up to My Tones prior to the reset will be lost Q: What can I do if I am experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issues between my Bluetooth device and the FIREHAWK 1500? A: For troubleshooting steps about Bluetooth connectivity and usage, check out our Bluetooth Connectivity FAQ HERE. Q: What should I do If I am experiencing connection issues with the FIREHAWK 1500 Remote app when I switch back and forth between apps on my iOS device? A: An important thing to note about the FIREHAWK Remote app functionality is that in addition to the iOS Bluetooth connection between your FIREHAWK and your iOS device, there is a secondary 'sync' connection between the amp and the app. Each time you minimize/close the app, the connection between the FIREHAWK Remote app and the FIREHAWK will need to be re-established, even if your iOS device is reporting that the FIREHAWK is connected via 'Bluetooth'. In this case, re-opening the FIREHAWK Remote app will automatically re-establish the connection within a few seconds. Make sure to look at the main menu of the FIREHAWK Remote app and wait for it to indicate that your FIREHAWK is 'connected' before moving forward using the app. If it does not automatically re-connect, close the FIREHAWK Remote app by double-tapping your iOS home key, then sliding the FIREHAWK Remote app window up and off the screen. Relaunch the FIREHAWK Remote app and it should re-sync itself with the FIREHAWK . Android devices usually have a function that lists all open programs where you can slide the app left or right to close it. Relaunch the FIREHAWK Remote app and it should re-sync itself with the hardware. Q: Can the FIREHAWK Remote App stream songs that are stored in the cloud and not on my mobile device? A: No. The FIREHAWK Remote App can only play back songs that are stored on your mobile device. Within the FIREHAWK Remote App settings, you can enable 'Hide Songs Not On Device' so that you only see songs that are stored on your mobile device when playing music from your Library. The Android app does not have this setting, but still only plays back songs stored on the device. Q: How can I search for a specific tone if I don't have the song or artist in my Library? A: To search for a specific tone, go to your Library within FIREHAWK Remote and pick any artist, then one of their albums, and then any song. This will begin to play the song and present you with a list of tones that match the song that is playing. You can then swipe down from the top of the tone list to unveil a ‘Search Tone Cloud’field where you can search for an artist or song name to find tones without having the song or artist in your library. Q: Can I use the FIREHAWK Remote app to load or edit tone files from my other existing Line 6 products? A: The FIREHAWK Remote app is only compatible with tone files created with the AMPLIFi family of products. Q: Can I use the FIREHAWK Remote app with a Line 6 Mobile In or Sonic Port? A: No. The FIREHAWK Remote app is only compatible with the FIREHAWK 1500. Q: What is the USB input on the back panel of FIREHAWK 1500 for? A: It's used to update the unit with a Windows computer, and to record to your DAW. Q: Where can I register my FIREHAWK 1500? A: After logging into or creating a Line 6 user account HERE, you can go HERE and enter in your serial number that is found on the back of your FIREHAWK 1500, it begins with '(21)PTM', simply fill in the remaining digits. Tranfer Firehawk presets to Helix

Considering upgrading to Helix, currently have a Firehawk FX. Can you transfer your Furehawk presets to Helix to save time? Obviously would want to make changes and new settings, but this would make it easy to pick up and play while setting up in between gigs.
  3. Hi all, I've put up an idea on ideascale for line 6 to swap the compressor and noise gate positions. I think the reversed positions make more sense. If you think so too please vote here line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Firehawk-fx-compressor-and-gate-swap/950226-23508?submitted=1#idea-tab-comments

    Crackling while Recording

Hey guys, needed some help here. Im using my Firehawk FX to record some music for. I have it running into my computer with USB, and I'm using SONAR Artist as my DAW, if that makes a difference. I have two tracks, one for the left and one for the right coming from the Firehawk, and my output is also the Firehawk. It records fine without problems, but during playback it has this awful popping and crackling noise to it. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thank you in advanced.

Can I use Pod HD500x patches on a Firehawk FX?

I'm looking at buying a Firehawk FX. However, I'd really like to be able to use some patches that were made for the Pod HD500x. Is this possible? If not this is going to make my decision between the Firehawk and Pod very difficult.
  6. I've been enjoying my Firehawk 1500 with the FBV controller and a Variax for several months now, but when the HX Stomp came out I saw it as an excellent chance to both have an expansion of the Firehawk's effects, and to have a puny little Helix to take on the go or use with headphones in the bedroom. Based on some of the previous posts about connecting the Helix to the Firehawk 1500 I was worried that it would be a bit of a hairball but it didn't seem to be a problem at all and I was curious what methods everyone else had tried. Because I wanted to retain the Variax VDI input control (which the Firehawk 1500 has but the HX Stomp does not) this is how I set it up: 1. Variax into Firehawk 1500 VDI input. 2. FX block in Firehawk effects chain turned on and placed after amp block. 3. Left & Right sends on Firehawk FX Send out to Left & Right input on HX Stomp. 4. Left & Right outputs on HX Stomp to Left & Right Returns on Firehawk 1500. My thinking was to use the HX Stomp primarily for its effects with the Firehawk for the amp and distortion settings, and then if I needed more effects than what HX stomp allowed to simply use the additional effects blocks within the Firehawk. When I tried that setup it seemed to work perfectly, but it also seemed to work just fine to have the HX stomp handle the amp settings as well. Best of all, I was able to use the Variax without needing a battery and still set its tunings within the app. Has anyone else on this board experimented with different ways to mesh these two? What worked best for you?

Firehawk FX: App on Windows laptop?

I couldn't find any other topics about this so I figured I'd make a new post. Does anyone know if there's a way to control the Firehawk FX pedal board with a Windows laptop like the iOS app does? I love the iOS app but I'd prefer it if I could make the screen bigger like my laptop's screen.

    Enhancements? UPDATES?

Dear Line 6, Is the FireHawk 1500 support or enhancements dead?????? You have such an awesome underdeveloped product here. The majority of the needs are in software and editability settings and with the FVB 3. I love the amp but it is a 63.14 lb. Living Room Brick. Because of the lack of editing for live performances. Please step up and enhancement the product. You have very skilled people on your team that are real players. They know what is needed. Guys isn't all about the Helix, Helix LT, Helix Stomp, Helix Effect. You won't get us to buy any of these or future products when you ignore our other stuff. PS I've had your stuff from the very beginning. You are bring in all these new product and your attention to the other products had slipped. There hasn't been an update or enhancement even on your Varaix other than the Suriken. Absolutely nothing for a very long time. People spend the money on your type of products because there is an expectation of enhancement. Both by design within software and electronic. FH1500, JTV-69, FVB3, X3Live, POD, POD farm

    FireHawk USB Question

Hi everyone, I just bought a Firehawk, and so far I am pretty pleased with it. I have a couple of questions: (thanks in advance) 1) I want to connect my ipad to the usb port in the back of the firehawk, but I don't know what type of usb port that is so I can buy it on line. It has this "funny" type shape. 2) I am plugging the output to an amp, does it matter what type of guitar cable I use (balance, unbalanced, etc) Same with the cable going to my student montiors (I am using a three prong cable for that.. not sure what the of the cable is...I am knew to all this) Thank you, Lguitarjsm

  11. Help me! I just bought my Line 6 Firehawk FX and when I tried it at the shop it was fine but when I got home and tried to use it, when ever I strum or hit one string hard, the sound just cuts for half a second and then comes back again. Its especially annoying since I am an aggressive player I basically have to play really softly to get any usable sound from the thing. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the bluetooth feature and turning it on and off again but it does not work. I have tried it with multiple guitars so I know that its not the guitars' fault. Do you guys know any solution to this? Please and thank you

    HD500 tones

So I picked up a HD500 which seems amazing except for the fact that I only have an iPad and it isn't compatible with any software to download patches. Only a few of the factory ones really sound decent to me and I've played with building a few. So not sure if I should have gotten a firehawk instead so I could control it with my iPad? Let's face it once I get my main 8-12 tones I likely won't use a whole lot more. 1- is there a place I can get tones listed vs a patch? So I can just type them in. I'm not a country guy but I wouldn't mind building a paisley like tone. 2- did I mess up and should have gotten the firehawk since I don't own a computer...

    Looping w the Firehawk

Hi, I’m just getting into looping and recording. I’ve been playing forever but was never into effects u til recently. Anyway, I have a firehawk 1500 amp and a boss rc 300. ideally what I’d like to do is law down a basic acoustic rhythm and loop it and then use some distortion, reverb, and other effects over it for the lead. The problem im having is that when I record that basic acoustic rhythm on the looper, as soon as I go to my electric effects, the rhythm is switched from the clean acoustic to the electric effects. How would i properly do this? Probably a stupid question but could use some help, thanks guys!

    Firehawk FX

Hi, every time I start the Firehawk remote app on my iPhone it automatically starts playing music from my iTunes account. How do I stop this from happening please? I’ve turned off the access to ITunes and that has stopped it for the time being but that can’t be the answer? thanks, Paul

    Firehawk FX and Shuriken Variax

Hi! I'm new to all this and recently got a Shuriken Variax and a Firehawk FX (no, I didn't go for the Helix as my bank account didn't allow it). ;) I have a couple of questions around the full functionality of the Firehawk utilising the Shuriken via VDI. 1. Is there a way to specifically control the individual string settings (other than the tuning)? e.g. volume levels of each string? The reason I ask this is that some of the default pre-sets I go to seem to only have the specific strings enabled. For example, on the "01C. American Clean" patch: - <position> = <String enabled> - Position 1 = Only top E string - Position 2 = All strings ok - Position 3 = E B G D A not working but bottom E working - Position 4 = Bottom E and A ok rest seems soft - Position 5 = All ok but soft when compared to position 2 2. Somewhat relates to 1 but via the Firehawk iOS app, when in Variax mode, it only looks like you can control the tuning on each string. Any way of configuring each string settings or do I need to go into the Workbench? Pretty sure I'll have more questions depending on the responses I get! Look forward to it and thanks in advance! Nigel

    External Loop Pedal Help

I just bought a Firehawk 1500 with the FBV 3 floor pedal, and I'm wondering how to properly hook up an external loop pedal. I'm running a JTV-69 into the Firehawk 1500 via VDI cable. I have my FX send on the back of the FH1500 going into my loop pedal's input (boss RC300), and then my loop pedal's output is going back into FX return. With the current setup I have, I can hear my previously recorded loops through the amp, but I can't record anything new through the guitar. The loop pedal is only recieving the FX, not the input from my guitar. Is there any way to make this work as I want it to? I haven't been able to figure this out. Thanks.
  23. Hello friends I have just gotten a Firehawk and I have som problems understanding a few (probably silly and easy) things with the alternative "four cable method" and the Firehawk. It's been correctly connected (thanks for all instructions about that) and when the FX Loop is turned on I can use all the effects nicely. But when I turn the FX Loop off of the FH there is no sound at all? It's like the amp I'm running FH through is turned off. And I cannot (FX Loop turned on or off) hear any of my playback music. The music that normally via bluetooth gets sent to the poweramp What can be the problem do you think? If I plug the FH stright inte the "guitar in" on my amp or just use my amp without FH then the amp works fine but somehow the 4 cable method seem to disconnect the poweramp in my amp (or something) Thanks in advance for help and have a bjotiful x-mas Fish ps. pic is to show my setup in my ipad ds
  24. Did anyone else come from a Firehawk and use the old Tube Drive stompbox (not the HD one, but the old one) and find that the Valve driver in the Helix (both of which I believe are meant to model a Chandler Tube Driver) doesn't sound anything like it at all? I'm a worship leader for my church and that Tube Drive was the core of the tone that I used for pretty much everything I played. It was extremely responsive to how hard you picked the strings so you could easily go from completely clean, picking it light, to pretty well cooked when you dug into the strings which was amazing for what I used it for and I didn't have to do much pedal dancing because it gave me such a range of tone just from my pick. I recently upgraded to the Helix excited for the options I had to work with in using multiple delays and reverbs and play with the signal chain some more, but I can't seem to build even the basic tone on the Helix that I had from the Firehawk, which is frustrating. I also used one of the line 6 amp models, the Line 6 21st Century Clean after the Tube Drive and it is described by line 6 as this: Line 6 21st Century Clean – To create this Amp Model, we essentially grafted the preamp and tone stack of a JC120 (Roland’s popular “Jazz Chorus†solid state combo) onto the power amp and transformer of a classic Marshall® JTM-45 tube head, thereby giving you the crisp and clear front end typical of a solid state amp, but with a rich, satisfying tube amp-style bite as you turn it up. The Helix doesn't have this as an amp and doesn't seem to be able to let me create it by stacking a preamp onto a poweramp like they did in the Firehawk model. This isn't as necessary to the sound I had as the Tube Drive was, but I'm surprised that in my "upgrade" to the Helix I seem to have lost some of the options that made me love line 6. The closest I've been able to come to a similar sound as far as the Tube Drive model goes is using an Essex A-30 (AC30) with the drive up between 5 and 7, but I can't seem to get as clean as I'd like when I play lightly or as edgy as I'd like when I pick hard like I did on the Firehawk. I also tend to get pretty shrill high end when playing full open chords or triads up a ways on the neck which I never had before with the Firehawk. Any chance the old original line 6 model of the Tube Drive stompbox could be brought back into the Helix and also the option of grafting pre-amp to power amps? Anyone else had similar issues or ideas of what to try? Thanks!

New Firehawk FX only A light one

I just picked up a Firehawk FX from GC today and I went to power it up but nothing seems to be happening. The A light is lit and the display back light is on but i cant get it to do anything else. I think it was an open box item because when they give it to me it looked like it was open but they assured me it was fine. I could be doing something wrong but i have done the factory reset, holding the volume button and the tap switch while turning it on, and i have tried the pedal calibration. Let me know if there is something that i am missing. Thank you Erick
