  1. Well I decided to updated my 13 years old laptop and upgrade to a Macbook. Seems like the recent updates on the page have no effect on scanning my device. Honestly my device was working well in my DAW application before I decided to download the license manager and pro x edit. Now no device shows up. Anyone else still use this rack unit and have or have had the same problem? I did uninstall and re-install but nothing seems to work..
  2. Hi folks, I bought my Helix in 2017 and despite playing with it for a while, I had to move countries and it had been sleeping in my office for a long time now. Yesterday I decided to pick it up again and do some playing/recording. Its firmware was version 2.21 then and I upgraded it to 2.92 using the latest Helix Edit app. It all went well, but I'm surprised it went "too well", actually: the instructions mentioned my user presets would be erased during the upgrade, but they didn't! I can still find and use them after the upgrade, which included the big overhaul from version 2.80. The fact that I could already find those presets held me back from importing my backup after the upgrade. So the question is: should I factory reset the Helix after the update, and THEN import the backup? By doing so, is there a risk of the new factory presets of the current firmware be replaced by the old ones of the backup, or only my user presets will be reapplied? By the way, my old "Helix" app is still there lingering on my PC alongside the new "Helix Edit" app. Can I safely uninstall the "Helix" app and only use the "Helix Edit" app from now on? And if I do need to factory reset, can I confirm that it's by turning it on while pressing switches 9 and 10? Sorry if all of this is repeated, but I couldn't find a direct answer to these questions because I'm a noob. Best regards to all.
  3. Here are the steps needed to update an AMPLIFi with Windows or OSX. The whole process should only take about 5 minutes. Click on each image to expand it. Windows users: First thing that needs to be done is to download the latest Amplifi driver from www.Line6.com/software if you haven't already. Step 1: Download and install Line 6 Updater from www.Line6.com/software. Step 2: Connect the Amplifi gear to your computer with a standard USB A/USB B cable, and then run Line 6 Updater program. Step 3: With your Line 6 user name and password, log into the program. Step 4: Click on the connected Amplifi. Here, we're updating the TT. Step 5: Click on the latest version of firmware from the top of the list. You do not have to install each previous version, just the latest. Step 6: This page shows you what you'll need to do if the update fails (we'll go over this at the end in detail). In the meantime, hit Next. Step 7: Here's the program doing its thing. Step 8: Once done, power cycle the unit. Step 9: Forget or unpair the Amplifi unit from your mobile device's Bluetooth menu. Press and briefly hold the Bluetooth button on the Amplifi until it flashes quickly. On your mobile device, go to your Bluetooth settings and select the device, as it's trying to connect. Once reconnected, launch the Amplifi Remote app. In the event that the update fails, or the gear isn't rebooting properly after the update, you'll need to enter update mode by holding down "Tone" and "Tap" while booting up. If using the FX100, hold down footswiches A and C. Note: If an update continues to fail, please try another computer's USB ports. USB port stability can vary between computers. NOTE TO FX100 OWNERS: After performing the steps below, you must perform a reset and a pedal calibration. Here are the instructions for that: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects-controllers/fx100/post-flash-update-instructions-for-fx100-r645

  6. I am running a POD HD500X and the Line 6 Monkey is telling me I have a USB Firmware update from v1.01 to 1.04. When I click Update Selection I get the following error: Update failed. 0xfd from Server - Internal Server Error Make sure the cables are still connected and try again. --- Both my computer and device are authorized and I can connect to my device successfully. Any thoughts?
  7. Q: What is the Spider FX Infusion? A: Spider FX Infusion is offered as a free firmware (1.52) update for all Spider IV (75, 120, 150, 150HD) amplifiers owners with a Line 6 FBV MkII Shortboard„¢ or Express„¢ Controller device. Q: Do I need to have the Mk II version of the FBV Express or shortboard to update the firmware on my Spider IV (75, 120, 150, HD150)? A: Yes, as the previous FBV (Mk I) does not have the USB connection necessary to connect to a computer for the update. You will also need to have the FBV Mk II Express/Shortboard registered to your user account to complete the install. Q: How do I connect my Spider IV (75, 120, 150, HD150) to my computer to perform the firmware update? A: See the following link for the Spider IV update information: Updating the Spider IV (75, 120, 150, 150HD) using the FBV Mk II and Line 6 Monkey Q: What is the Spider IV Edit software? A: The Spider IV Edit software allows you to edit and download tones for your Spider IV amplifier on your computer. See the following link for more information on using the Spider IV Edit software. Spider IV Edit v1.02 FAQs Q: Do I need to calibrate my Expression pedal on my FBV Mk II unit after I perform the firmware upgrade? A: Yes. See the following link for the information on how to calibrate your FBV Mk II pedal (and update the firmware if necessary): FBV/Shortboard/Express/FBV2 Controller: Calibration and F.A.Q.s FBV Mk II (Express and Shortboard) software update Q: What new effect models are included in the Spider FX Infusion firmware update? A: There are 28 new effects in the update 1.51 (there are no changes in the amp modeling). Here are the locations and descriptions of the new effects: FX-1 - Gain Blue Comp: Based on* the Boss® CS-1 Compression Vetta Juice: A Line 6 original originally created for our flagship Vetta II guitar amplifier. Boost & EQ: A stompbox compressor that also provides you with some EQ controls so you can further shape the tone. Screamer: Based on* an Ibanez® Tube Screamer®, the overdrive heard round the world. Killer Z: Based on* Boss® Metal Zone, the industry standard distortion pedal for metal players since 1989. Octave Fuzz: Based on the Tycobrahe Octavia, the classic fuzz+octave effect. Bass Overdrive: Based on* the Tech 21 Bass Sans Amp Clean Sweep: This is a wide range sweeping filter with a slow decay. It’s similar to Auto Wah, but with a band pass filter shape. FX-2 - Chorus/Phaser Analog Chorus: Based on* the Boss® CE-1 Chorus Ensemble. Square Chorus: Based on* the Boss® CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, but with a square wave acting as the magical modulator. Random Chorus: This chorus uses three different modulating filters all running randomly. Jet Flanger: Based on the A/DA Flanger. Lumpy Phase: Kinda like a Uni-Vibe®, but more radical. Warble-Matic: It can produce a nice mild phasey sound or with the depth maxed you can simulate the sound of an alien spacecraft . FX-3 - Delay/ Sweep Echo Analog Delay: Based on* the Boss® DM2 Analog Delay. Stereo Delay: Run this effect post in order to hear it in stereo, with one delay on the left, and another on the right. The time parameter sets the left delay’s time, while offset sets the right delay time as a percentage of the left. So, if you set time to 500ms, and offset to 50%, your right delay time will be 50% of 500ms in other words, 250ms. This effect will be summed in mono on a mono amplifier (i.e. Spider IV 75) but will be in stereo when using the stereo line out. Bubble Echo: Bubble Eko has a Sample and Hold filter on the repeats. A Sample and Hold filter takes a filter sweep (like the one on Sweep Echo), chops it up into little bits and rearranges them semi-randomly. Reverb King Spring Large Plate Small Room Tiled Room Chamber Medium Hall Large Hall Wah Chrome: Based on* a Vox® V847 Colorful: Based on* the wah part of a vintage Colorsound® Wah-Fuzz Weeper: Modeled after* an Arbiter® Cry Baby
  8. Greetings, I stopped getting an input signal on my PODxt Pro. I tried various guitar cables, and I reinstalled the 3.02 firmware from the Line 6 Monkey. Nothing else is plugged into the unit other than the AC cable and the input cable. It's clearly not a setting; I can't even get a signal to use the tuner. Seems like a hardware issue, but here's how I've troubleshot this so far; perhaps I've missed something obvious along the way. First of all, it would seem that after some searching, that this issue is not unique to me. Also, for what it's worth, I had (for some reason) version 1.14 of the USB firmware on the unit, despite the fact that the current version was listed as 1.12 in the Monkey. Thinking that this might be the problem, I tried restoring the current version of the USB firmware back to version 1.12, so that they matched. No dice. Repeated power cycles do nothing, and the line level input on the back isn't getting any input signal either. Sending a clean guitar signal through USB doesn't work either, so it obviously isn't getting any signal at the front end. The signal light on the front remains perpetually dark. I have all model packs installed, and the unit has been sitting in a climate controlled rack in a studio, so it is in mint condition. I am at a loss, and am not sure what to do, as I rely on this in my studio. Another follow-up question... Since I rolled back the USB firmware to 1.12, there doesn't now seem to be a way to get it back to 1.14. Most reports I see say that 1.14 is the latest version of the USB firmware, yet the Line 6 Monkey is telling me that 1.12 is the latest. Was there an issue discovered with version 1.14 of the USB firmware such that it was removed from the update servers? I also ran the entire update process again from another computer with a different USB cable. Same deal. Another thing to note is that while the device is fully recognized through the OS, and the MIDI functionality seems to be fine, the audio interface element of the PODxt Pro is not functioning properly. The device is recognized in the Sound System Preference (and the Audio/MIDI Setup) but sound will not come out of it for regular computer sound output (like iTunes, for example.) In addition to this, I just noticed a slight but audible buzzing/hum sound inconsistently coming from the unit, which sounds similar to an alternating current's 60 Hz hum sometimes caused by EMI or a ground loop. I've never noticed this until right now. A power cycle of the unit lessened it to some degree, but it's still there faintly, which obviously causes further concern. Has anyone else with a PODxt Pro experienced anything like this? I'm sure the answer is what I don't want to hear: that I'll need to take it to a service center. Thanks in advance, Jeff

  10. Hello people! I'm brand new to the Line 6 forums. I'm having a few issues updating the Firmware on my LINE 6 M13. The pedal is awesome (when it works). So everything stopped working and i stopped getting sound out of it. When I hook up my cables, you can hear this buzzing when you turn the overdrive effects on, so there definately is a connection there, but when you plug the guitar in nothing comes through. I have of course tested out all cables and everything. So I did some digging and I am on something like 1.07 firmware, and I need to upgrade to the newest one. I've been following the instructions that I found here (http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects-controllers/m5-m9-m13/m13-firmware-update-instructions-r364) They are easy to follow but still nothing. I've tried it using MIDI-OX utility. I download the Sysex file, and follow it step by step. When I'm in MIDI OX and I send the file through to the unit, my little USB Midi device lights up (it has LEDS for Midi in and Midi out, and the Midi Out is flashing indicating that it's sending midi data through the out cable). My poor old M13 just sits there, on the display it says 'Waiting command' I get all the way to the end sending the Sysex data over, but it looks like the M13 is not recieving it. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and if anyone has successfully done it!
  11. After update many presets (not all) had no output. Seems that any preset that reroutes to path 2A or 2B is muted BECAUSE the input to 2A/B defaults to none and there is no option to select 2A/B. Rerouting the output from 2A to XLR,1/4 inch outputs reestablish's output but the 2A path seems unavailable. Updated the firmware on my Helix floor unit to 2.8. All went smooth and backed up before update. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx
  12. Hi, I tried to update the firmware of FBV3 from 1.00.00 to 1.01.00 using Line 6 Updater. However, Line 6 Updater crashed after around 15 minutes and now FBV does not work anymore. It does not power up at all, neither when connected to Firehawk 1500, nor when connected to my notebook via USB. Has anyone else witnessed a similar situation? Any advice? Should I return it for servicing? I have raised a support ticket with Line 6 and am waiting for their response. Best regards. Paweł Szewczyk
  13. Good afternoon, I'm a proud owner of a PODxt Live for many years; It worked like a charm until a few weeks ago. Starting from the beginning, a year ago I broke the USB connector; Almost a month ago I decided to finally fix the USB port, so I changed the connector to a new one (I'm experienced with electronics), when I turned on the POD to try out the new USB connector, the POD simply wouldn't start; It flashed all the LED's and maintained them on, a brick with lights basically. The USB works just fine, I can access to the POD via PC but the Flash Memory is just not accessible; I checked every internal part on the POD, all the values are normal and nothing seems to be "broken". Is it possible that anyone can get me the Flash Memory full dump file of a PODxt Live so I can reprogram mine? Sorry for my bad English, Best Regards.
  14. Hi DT User, I'm using DT25 HD with the Line 6 1*12 cabinet. Firmware update 2.0 installed and changed some pre amp models. Position IV set to "none". On Ch A to Class A/B and Pentode and on the Lead Channel B to tube Boost, Class A and Pentode. Nice dynamic tube tones are the result. unfortunetly als knobs execpt Presence and Reverb are out of function. Only the Master allows Volumecontrol. To solve this problem I put a tube mic preamp with gain and output knobs in front of the amp. In this combination I get a wide range of tones from clean to overdriven. So my suggestion and question: Why Line 6 don't offers a simple pre amp model with full knob control and tube boost without any modelling? Only the tube and some controls. Is a firmware update planned? Please include a simple pre amp! best regards big34
  15. Yesterday i tried to update firmware on my DT25 but without success. First I tried with cheap ebay midi coverter but with no succes. Today I bought M-Audio Uno but again with no succes :( I just followed steps from user manual. I even tried powering in safe mode but again same problem. Every time I get this message Code 8000000A error. My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit. I tried same thing on different notebook with Windows XP but again I get same error message. Anybody knows what is going on?
  16. This post is for those who use a PC to trigger MIDI events in Helix. Since I updated to the 2.8 firmware, my USB connectivity for MIDI is not working. I’ve checked all of my settings, reinstalled the ASIO audio driver and validated my USB connection to the PC as I’m able to control Helix perfectly through HX Edit app. I also validated the issue by reverting back to 2.71 and testing and everything worked fine. I also copied all of the global settings so I could reset them all in 2.8. Well, the issue is back and I don’t know what to try next. Any known issues or ideas you can share with us? I really need to resolve this before my upcoming live performances, thanks!

    cant update

hello everyone. Tried to instal the firmware 2.81 as always did. It said suddenly, an error occur shot down and try again. Is not working and wont instal 2.71 wich i had, niether. The helix is useless now, any suggestion?=
  18. hello there. ive been trying updating the firm of my helix as usual, said an error ocur and now its useless, it wont come back to the 2.71 wich i had. Pleas any suggestion? what shoud i do!
  19. While updating my Helix floor, it gave me "Boot Failure. Entered Update Mode" message on the pedal. After waiting half an hour it was still the same, so I canceled the process. Upon Rebooting the HELIX same message showed up again and again. I tried changing usb cables and usb ports on my pc and it still did not work. WHAT IS HAPPENING? I need my pedal back :( Help!
  20. Has anyone had success with their Helix communicating with their mac (for anything)? I am using 10.9.5. I have tried both Helix app 1.0.3 and the new line 6 updater and neither are showing a unit connected (via USB). I think this is a line 6 issue because under 'about this mac/more info/system report/USB/' it clearly shows a Helix unit connected to the 'USB hi-speed bus'---so it's not a bad cord or an Apple issue. Consequently I haven't upgraded to the newest firmware (still on 1.0.4) or checked out you alls tones.
  21. Maybe I missed something, but being super nervous about losing all my presets, I did multiple backups in multiple different ways, just to be sure I didn't lose any of my custom presets. Did the update as per the very detailed instructions and ya after about 25-30mins I was up and playing again and low and behold.... all my presets were still there. So my question to you guys..... I thought we were suppose to lose the presets and would require an import from the backup, did I just get lucky? Or did everyone else have the same experience. Just want to make sure I actually updated properly, I'm guessing it did as it shows 2.81 on boot-up. I have 2 user folders in use - user3 and user4 and all my presets and IRs remained without requiring an import. Cheers! R.
  22. I have a Helix bought a couple of years ago and I want to update it. Is there anyone who can cut through the pages of info and tell me how to, back up my old patches (I can't see how to install an old version of HX edit to do this) then down load the new firmware and software to get the Helix up to date. Many thanks in advance.
  23. This is what the looper upgrade should have delivered - something to shout about aka the Headstrong patch update.
  24. Hey all, I don't know about you guys, but I'm so tired of checking for the 2.8 upgrade, and seeing it's not there yet. Ever since I got the HX Stomp to compliment my Helix, I've been changing all my presets to work with both units. I use them both, sometimes when I want to use my Variax I bring the big one with me, if not, I bring the small, they are both great. I can't wait for sharing patches to be easy. I want to be able to tweak my presets on either device, and easily upload those changes to the other. I don't get why Line 6 announced this upgrade so many months ago - it's unnerving...
  25. Hey y'all, I had some troubles updating me Helix's firmware and by now there 5 firmware updates that I missed. Should I download them all or download the recent one 2.71? Thank you.
