Crazy question. I purchased a new POD HD500X from GC Sunday as in 5 days ago Feb 2016. When I first installed the necessary software from Line 6 (Monkey, Edit, drivers, etc.) and successfully connected my unit the screen in Line 6 Monkey said the firmware was version 1.00 - not 0.00 as if it didn't see it. So question, when did firmware 1.00 get released and did I really purchase a new unit or was it some old stock, in the back under the stairwell, waiting to see the light of day release? It did update to version 2.62.00. I had the same thing happen in Jan. 2010 when I purchased my first M13 and, due to many issues I discovered in the first 10 days) it had to be sent to Line 6 three weeks later at which time Line 6 (thank you Tony) sent me a brand new doubly inspected unit just out of production. So, back to firmware version. Anyone have an answer as to what firmware you had if and when you purchased a new HD500X in the past three months (Dec 2015 to Feb 2016)? Thanks, Dennis

As long as firmware updates involve doing global resets (9&10 footswitch reboot) which also clears out the IRs I have found I am presented with a bit of a problem. I export all my IRs at one time in a mass export before a firmware update to a fresh directory with nothing else in it, but when I use the Helix App and return to that directory to import them, they are stored in alphabetical order in the save directory in Windows. This means that when you go to do a mass import to reload them into the Helix after a global reset they appear by default in the import window in alphabetical order. This probably is not the order the IRs were loaded on your Helix. If you import them this way (alphabetical order) they will probably no longer correspond to the IRs you set up in your presets. This means your custom presets come up with the wrong IR loaded. The way to deal with this is when you open the IR import browse window in the Helix App, sort the IRs on date. Then select them all. This will allow you to import them all at one time in the same order you exported them (even though Windows may not display the time in milliseconds in the browse window, each successive IR saved in a mass export actually has a slightly later timestamp and Windows can sort on it). Perhaps other folks have a better solution but this one is working well for me. It would be great to have an "Export Setlist" in the IR section of the Helix App so this workaround wasn't necessary. However this method seems to work pretty well when you are dealing with a lot of IRs and don't want to have to re-import them one by one, and you also want them to go back into the same IR "slot"/position on the Helix that you exported from. Note: If the Helix app import browse window is not showing "Date" as one of the columns (this is the column you need to sort on), you can do the following. Right click on the directory with your IRs, choose "Properties", select the "Customize" tab, and then select "Documents" in the "Optimize this folder for" pulldown menu. This is the process for Windows 10, it should be similar in earlier Windows versions or even on the Mac.

Has anyone had success with their Helix communicating with their mac (for anything)? I am using 10.9.5. I have tried both Helix app 1.0.3 and the new line 6 updater and neither are showing a unit connected (via USB). I think this is a line 6 issue because under 'about this mac/more info/system report/USB/' it clearly shows a Helix unit connected to the 'USB hi-speed bus'---so it's not a bad cord or an Apple issue. Consequently I haven't upgraded to the newest firmware (still on 1.0.4) or checked out you alls tones.

I have two quick questions: 1. Is there a typical firmware/software release schedule for Helix? 2. Is there a mailing list that we can sign up for that will let us know when a new software update is available? Thanks!

Here is how to update the Firehawk 1500 step by step: Note: The versions of the drivers and software may have older versions. Make sure to always select the latest versions. For Windows 7, 8, or 10 systems, please start with step 1. For OSX 10.8 and up, skip to step 8. 1. In order for your computer to see the Firehawk 1500 you will need to install the driver for the device to your computer. Open a web browser and navigate to www.Line6.com/software and select Product: Firehawk Software: Drivers from the drop down menus at the top of the page. 2. Pick the top selection from the next page by selecting "Get Download". 3. Accept the terms. 4. If in Windows, choose the run option and run the installer or navigate to the downloads window and run the installer. Pressing Control + J will bring up the downloads menu in most windows browsers, alt + command + L for Safari on Mac. 5.Disconnect your Firehawk from the computer if it's connected via USB and run the installer. 6. In the installer make sure the drivers from the Firehawk have a green check. Click next until the installer completes. 7. Reconnect Hardware when prompted and let Windows assign the driver. Now your computer will be able to communicate properly with the Firehawk. 8. Now, let's download the updater utility. Open your web browser, navigate back to www.Line6.com/software and select Line 6 Updater under the software drop down menu. 9. Select get download under the top selection, the latest choice will always be at the top. 10. Accept the agreement. 11. If in Windows, choose the run option and run the installer or navigate to the downloads window and run the installer. Pressing Control + J will bring up the downloads menu in most Windows browsers, alt + command + L for Safari on Mac. Or the installer will be in your downloads folder. 12. Run the installer for Line 6 updater. 13. In the installer make sure Updater has a green check, click next until the installer completes. 14. Run Line 6 updater from the start menu on WIn 7, Applications Folder on a Mac, or C:/Program Files (86)/Line 6 on Windows 8. 15. Accept the agreement. 16. Login to Updater with your username and password from the Line 6 website. 17. Select the Firehawk. 18. Select the latest version of flash memory. This is always the top selection. 19. NOTE: This part of the updater explains how to reset the Firehawk if it should fail. You can refer to the image here for instructions if that should ever happen. Click Next to Proceed. 20. Wait for the progress bar to complete. 21. Updater will let you know when the update is complete.

Hey there! I have a Line 6 POD HD 500. I've been trying to connect it to my PC to record and edit and all those things. The problem's that the PC does not recognize the POD. I've already downloaded hundreds of support files and installed them and there's no response. So, as I went to the POD to the "System and I/O" screen, is shown that the "USB Firmware version is 0.00!" Is there anything I might do to solve this? I've tried with monkey and donwnloaded drivers but the POD is just not recognized. Thanks!

I've had my Helix for a short while and am loving the sound! But I find myself missing a few of the effect models from my old HD 500. Anybody else feel this way? So, I thought I'd ask; what models do you wish they would add in upcoming fimware updates (hopefully they look over these things)? I'm wishing they would put the boost/comp back; I'm just not getting the push out of the teletronix....and I wish they would put the Memory Man analog mod/delay on that they had on the hd500....the Line 6 version sounds like a flanger to me. So, if the DID look at these forums, and you COULD tell them what you wanted.....what would it be?

I have tried and re-tried but can't seem to get this done. My laptop runs win7. I've got Monkey at 1.71, updated the USB firmware to 1.04, re-booted both POD and laptop ad nauseum, even turned off my Norton... but whenever Monkey tries to update the FW, it thinks it's successful yet shows the driver at 4.2.5.1. My goal is to get my hd500 from 2.32 to 2.62, but I don't want to even attempt this if I can't even get the drivers to update. Anybody got any ideas? Also, when updating the POD Flash Memory, am I supposed to hold down a nav button and power it on somewhere in the process? THANKS (in advance)!

I loaded my custom presets from a Helix app v.1.02 backup, not a v.1.01 backup after yesterday's firmware upgrade to 1.04.1. Although the Release Notes for the new firmware specify the new version of the Helix app for the restore, they do not specify which version of the Helix app to do the backup with so I am not sure if this was ok. Could someone at Line6 please chime in and let me know if it was ok to restore my custom presets from a Helix app v.1.02 backup after the 1.04.2 firmware update . I would prefer not to spend days, weeks, tweaking my presets only to find out that something subtle went wrong with my restored custom presets because I was supposed to have reloaded them from a v.1.01 backup. Before I bother doing any more customizing of presets I need to know if I am going to have to reload them from the backup made by an earlier version of the Helix app. I really need this question answered to proceed happily down the upgrade road with my Helix. I have asked this question several times in several ways elsewhere, but alas, no response. I could open a trouble ticket but I think this detail would benefit everyone who is doing the update. So, what does a brother need to do to get a little help here? I know you guys are busy and I never expect a response directly from Line6 but you just issued a firmware update and inquiring minds want to know. Is a backup from either version of the Helix app ok as long as we use v.1.02 to do the restore, or, do we need a backup from a specific version of the Helix app? This detail could potentially impact many users. Please add some clarity here. Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm about to update my DT 50 212 soon, so I've been reading this old thread (and others): http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/89020/ Just wanted to check if I can do this update from my USB/MIDI keyboard controller (an AKAI MPK 61). It has both MIDI In and MIDI Out ports. Does anyone know if that would work? Or should I get a dedicated interface for this (something like that M-Audio Uno one)? If the keyboard works (hooked up to the computer via USB), then I'm assuming I'll need 2 MIDI cables connecting: DT 50 MIDI In -> AKAI Midi Out DT 50 MIDI Out -> AKAI MIDI In. Is that correct? Has anyone succeeded performing the firmware update from a keyboard controller before? I'm always afraid of doing these firmware updates on my Line 6 gear... I can't afford to "brick" my amp., since I'm very far from any Line 6 service center. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Lag time much better. Actually usable. Still getting a little noise on patch chances but has been lowered and might work for my next gig. THANK YOU... I'm gigging tomorrow night and this couldn't have come at a better time. Well maybe a few weeks ago would have been better. Ha...

Trying to use the PC utility to update the firmware, but Windows can't find a suitable driver. I'm running Win 7 SP2 x86. Look at the attached picture for the errors I'm getting. Where is the actual driver? I can try to point it to the actual driver in device manager, but I don't know where it would be.

It would be awesome if there were an adjustable frequency filter in the Smart Harmony effect that would allow the signal to pass un processed below the filter setting and processed above the setting. Is this possible?

Hello there, I'm having some troubles right after the 2.62 firmware update. (I did it today, the previous version was 1.30 I guess) My POD HD 500 doesn't work anymore, and everything was ok before the update. I tried to downgrade , but there is a communication error between the POD and the computer that wasn't there before. if I connect the pod on power and select any set, it crashes. And if I turn the Tunner on, a strange sound appears when I play he chords, and when I press any FS button, it crashes. Please, I need some help!
