  1. I'm guessing that the new global EQ (without throwing any more drama into all this) will fix the whole cab vs, DI brightness issue. What I should be able to do, once it's updated, is get my patches sounding good through my (insert frfr of choice here), and then switch to either cans or PA and roll down the hi cut until the extra brightness is gone, correct? If I bring it down until just before the frfr cab starts to lose top end, then it should be a closer match, if it works right. I always have to end up making lots of eq adjustment when I playing direct with IEMs, and maybe that will be solved soon.
  2. Hi! I did a firmware upgrade to my spider IV 75 through a fvb mkII pedalboard. The proceder seemed correct. The new efects sounds great, but the pedalboard didn't work again. The display doesn't light anymore and none of the pedals work. It is unable to connect to the computer vía USB. It isn't recognized by the monkey. Any similar experience? Any idea? Could the update file be corrupted? Maybe the routine to manage the pedalboard is not complete? Would a factory reset fix the problem? Thank you and excuse my poor english
  3. installed the line6 monkey program right now and it says my m5 is on the latest (1.0) firmware...is this an error or has there really never been any firmware upgrade....? thanks, rudi
  4. AMPLIFi Firmware Release Notes: AMPLIFi 75/150/TT/FX100 firmware v2.50.2 AMPLIFi Firmware 2.50.2 is a free firmware update that includes fixes and optimizations. It is highly recommended that all AMPLIFi users perform this update! AMPLIFi Remote 2.13 or greater is required for use with this firmware. Please update your AMPLIFi remote app on iOS or Android before upgrading to this version of firmware. The easiest way to perform the update process is by installing the latest version of Line 6 Updater. Once you've connected AMPLIFi to your computer via USB port (hubs are not supported), Line 6 Updater will recognize the unit and take you through the update process. PC users will need to install the AMPLIFi device driver. Line 6 Updater application and drivers may be downloaded here: http://line6.com/software/ New Feature: "Assign to Pedal" support allows you to use the built-in pedal on FBV Shortboard and FBV Express to control parameters assigned to the FX Knob. These parameters are assigned by pressing and holding on the desired parameter in the AMPLIFi Remote app. Bug Fixes: -Improved Bluetooth connection stability and reconnect behavior -Other minor bug fixes and optimizations AMPLIFi 75/150/TT/FX100 firmware v2.10 All AMPLIFi units USB 2.0 recording for Mac OSX 10.7+ and Windows 7/8 Class-compliant Mac/iPad drivers @ 24bit/48K (these drivers are in OSX 10.7+) ASIO driver version 1.64 for Windows that provides 16/24 bit, 44.1/48/88.2/96K recording and sample rate conversion. This issue is fixed in this release. AMPLIFi 75/150/FX100 firmware v2.00.0 Firmware adds SPP Bluetooth capability for data communication with Android devices. 5. Having trouble getting my fx100 set up. The device pairs with the fx100 but nothing I do in the app affects the tone in the fx100. It keeps telling me to update the firmware. I have done this and it says successful, but it still continues to say version 1 and that I should update. I have reset the fx100 to factory settings and calibrated the way pedal. Any suggestions before I send it back?
  6. Some weeks ago, maybe a month ago, I aquired a Relay G30 set. Since I live in Argentina, I'm not quite sure if they are just out of the oven. Since I have an important gig this Sunday, and I bought the G30 specially for this type of gigs and I wanted to know the firmware version, so I could use it in RF1 mode (I've read it's safer). I made the 1-6 x3 switch change but I've only got a 1 green blink response, which is no different than what I get when the switch reaches to 6 or 1 in this process. I've made this several times, with the receiver turned on and off as well. If I should trust the results, it seems my G30 has firmware version 1.00, but I'm not quite sure. Is there any other way to check the firmware version? So far at home and at rehearsals it has been working excellent, and I wouldn't want to change to RF2 accidentally so I haven't followed the RF change process. I also check for Wi-Fi routers with my smartphone to select the channel I'm going to use to avoid interference, according to the chart given in the Knowledge Base.
  7. There has got to be a better way to plug in my HD500 and JTV 89 and edit. Yesterday I was in the studio and had some clicking issues when changing patches and I also wanted to write a DADGAD patch for my JTV. So when I got home... I started Monkey and had to update several things. I forget exactly what I needed to update, but it took a while. Then I needed to open Workbench. So I opened the program and realized that it doesn't work with JTV, (but I need to keep it because I still have a Variax 500.) So I opened Workbench HD. I can't find the JTV Interface and cords. I search for about fifteen minutes and it is where I looked the first time! Oh yeah, I have to have a 1/4 cord plugged in to the guitar jack. Oh no, my battery is dead. I have to charge it overnight... Today, battery charged and ready to go. Everything is plugged in. I open Workbench. It seems to be working so I do some edits and I get a message saying it can't send the preset to the guitar... I go to Line 6 Support and do a search for the exact words of the error message and nothing comes up. I do another search and I'm searching within my current results, so I back out and try it again in the forum, in the knowledge base... Nothing. Am I the only one having this problem? So I try the "Error Code." No luck. I put my problem in my own words and finally get a result that seems to apply that isn't in Japanese or German. The guys ultimate solution was sending his guitar back and getting a new one!? Somewhere in the responses someone mentions a JTV firmware update. I go back to Monkey to see if I have the most current firmware for the guitar. Now the interface is only showing one green light and one red light. I unplug. I plug. I remove the battery. I put the battery back. Somehow I get Monkey to find the guitar. But in the process I realize that I'm now installing the midi interface, which I don't need, and it is telling me I'll need to reboot the computer to complete the installation. Rebooted and read to check Monkey! I have 2.0, I need 2.1. Now Monkey isn't recognizing my guitar again. I unplug. I plug. I remove the battery. I put the battery back. Two green lights! I update the guitar! I go to Workbench HD and it works! ...Almost 24 hours later. "Elegant and user friendly, this is not," said Yoda. I don't even remember why I wanted the DADGAD patch and I'm too frustrated to play even if I could remember. Then end result is fine. I'm a big Line 6 fan. Nice guitar, great versatility, but there has to be a better way to integrate all these updates. I'll bet you Line 6 guys know I'm right and you probably wish it was better as well. I'll bet you'd have a lot more customers. $$$
  8. Hi to all , I just purchased a DT25 head and I am trying to connect it to Monkey to see what firmware I have. I first tried using a cheap Chinese ebay cable and I was getting no lights on the midi side. I went out today and bought a hosa midi to usb converter and I am having the same issue. No lights on the Midi side, just on the usb side. I connected Midi in of converter to Midi out on the amp and vice versa for the Out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
  9. I got me an M5 stompbox for christmas (nice!). The unit is even superior than the POD Farm I have at home in some of the effects it contains, but I miss one particular distortion called "Bass Overdrive". It's the only overdrive with rich low frecuencies in the whole "overdrive-dirtortion" zone. For bass players is the "Always On" kind of effect, and for metal guitars that require powerful bass is a must have on the L6 arsenal. A suggestion for future firmware updates. Who'd like to have that too in your M5? Chalo
  10. I was just thinking about my pedal tonight and thought I would drop in and see if there has been any newer Firmware/s added for my M9 pedal. I see the line 6 Monkey keeps updating, but my question is: 1. Should I load the older M9 Firmware Version 2.01.00 Then Version 2.02.00 then the Version 2.04.00 OR Does the latest Version 2.04.00 have all the previous fixes for the pedal?
  11. Hi - Is the Firmware update v2.0 necessary if using an HD500 with the DT25 amp? I don't want the expense of MIDI cables and the extra work involved if I get everything through the HD 500 anyway. Cheers.
  12. When the Monkey says to back up your presets because you might lose them in a Firmware update, they ARE NOT kidding. :( Thank goodness this isn't a production server....
  13. So today I go to get into POD HD Edit and the program tells me I have to update. No problem I think, and head over to the monkey. Sure enough, it says my firmware needs to be updated, and it can't determine my current version but wants me to update to firmware 2.10. I click update and that's when the fun began. I got this message: "Update timed out waiting for response from device" Well $%^... So I went through it again (and again and again etc...) and still, no joy. I downloaded a file called p18.phf and got the same results. Along the way: - It informed me my patches may not work and to consult some place for more info. I'm not far enough along to be worried that much over presets yet. - I tried saying DON't save the patches - I tried saving the patches first - I tried from the Internet - I tried from that file - I got REALLY pissed off because I wanted to work on what I was wanting to do, and not screw with computers today. I code the things for a living! So anyone have a vague clue where to go from here, short of ditching the whole thing? I am half serious too...my "regular" guitars, amps, effect pedals just work and don't require me to upload or download squat. I MIGHT have to change a string or a tube. Maybe. But I NEVER have to screw with a computer to get something done, ever.
  14. Im running on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Ableton Live 8 Suite and having problems with the inputs with KB37. The device works well as an audio device, plays beats and audio, and responds to midi (keyboard works), but I can't get the inputs working. The mics and guitars connected are simply not responding, and the analogue volumemeters don't move at all. When I try to update the Firmware with latest version of Monkey, on Flash memory installation it gives error "Code 80007204 Hardware device failed to enter update mode" (when I replug the device in the part instructed). If I don't replug, but press cancel instead, it starts to download and install the software but gives error "Code 80007209 Firmware version verification failed." I have tried different ports and cables. I have also re-installed all possible apps, drivers, firmware, and even monkey itself. In Monkey it says that the version of Flash memory of Firmware is "unknown", though the latest seems to be 1.03. (I wonder if I could somehow get some older versions of flash memory firmware and try if they'd work?) Heelp! Here are some screenshots:
  15. Hello, I'm new to the forum and to Line 6 products. I just bought a used DT-25 from GC and would appreciate some assistance regarding the version 2.0 Firmware Update. I also own a HD500X & JTV-69 HSS if that helps with assisting me. I'm really a novice when comes to MIDI, DT-25 & POD HD500X and ask that your assistance be as detailed and complete as possible. I really appreciate it! How/where can I find which firmware version is currently installed in the DT-25? If I am satisfied which amps are assigned to voicings 1-4, do I really need to do this firmware update? Do I need to buy a MIDI to USB cable, and two MIDI cables to do this firmware update (if I find it hasn't been done)? If I do need to buy the cables, where would I find a cheap MIDI to USB (the one I found on Sweetwater is $50!) Is there any other device, cable, etc I also need to buy? In the DT Firmware Installation Guide I find the following confusing... 'Connect your MIDI interface to your computer, and ensure that it functions properly. Then connect your MIDI interface to your DT amp via the two MIDI cables. The MIDI “Out†of your interface should connect to the DT amp’s MIDI “Input,†and the MIDI “Output†of the DT amp should return to the MIDI “Input†jack on your MIDI interface.' The statement above is completely Chinese to me! What is the 'MIDI Interface' (is this another thing I have to buy + the cables)? And how would I connect it to my computer? Thanks in advance for all who assist me. Dr. C

  20. Hi folks, I have recently purchased an HD500 and DT25. I have flashed the HD500 no problem but I am getting the common errors with the DT25 when attempting to flash using usb-midi cable. I have tried all the suggested tricks but it does look like I need to buy a decent midi controller. I was already on the lookout for a simple midi keyboard controller to enable me to record some basic synth / percussion etc on cubase. I am looking at a :- Behringer UMX250 U-Control 25 Key USB/MIDI Controller Keyboard with USB/Audio Interface Anyone know if this will enable me to flash the DT25 or is it the wrong sort of device for that? Cheers in advance, Steve (PS any tips on a better small midi keyboard controller around the £100 mark will be gratefully received)

  23. V2.0 Firmware provides improved performance as well as upgraded features and/or compatibility to existing Line 6 XD-V70 systems and separates: XD-V70 Transmitters RF2 mode in addition to the original RF1 mode 14 channel capability in RF2 mode or 12 channel in RF1 mode. XD-V70 Receivers Ability to lock to RF1 or RF2 mode transmitters 14 channel capability in RF2 mode A new RF Scan capability which identifies RF1, RF2 transmitters as well as possible interference sources on Line 6 channels. Switching between RF1 and RF2 Mode The XD-V70 V2.0 Firmware utilizes our latest digital wireless transmission method, and is fully channel compatible with the XD-V75 running RF2 mode. Multiple units of either of these models can be used together within the same location, as long as each unit is on a unique channel and no more than 14 units are used simultaneously. The XD-V70 receivers running V2.0 Firmware can automatically receive transmissions from previous generation of Line 6 wireless products, including the XD-V30, XD-V70, and Relayâ„¢ G30, Relayâ„¢ G50, and Relayâ„¢ G90 models with pre Version 2.0 Firmware, now referred to as RF1 mode. However, it is recommended to NOT mix usage of the RF1 and RF2 modes within the same location due to the channel frequencies in each system not being compatible. Depending on the situation, it may be desirable to switch transmitters from RF2 back to RF1 mode. To set THH12 or TBP12 transmitters running V2.0 firmware into RF1 mode, enter Setup mode to display the current channel, then while holding down the SELECT button, press and release the ON/MUTE button on the THH12 or VALUE button on the TBP12. The display will briefly show [XD-V7x RF1] or [XD-V7x RF2] to indicate whether it is operating in the old or new mode, respectively. This setting is retained when powering off, so as a reminder the display will also show this indication [RF1 or RF2] each time power is turned on. The XD-V7x receiver will display a [To] on the far right of the display to indicate while communicating with a RF1 software transmitter. RF Scan Mode Channel Scanning Procedure V2.0 firmware adds a sophisticated scanning capability that can determine the existence of interfering wireless devices that may compromise the performance range of operation on certain channels, and can also help assure selected wireless mic channels do not interfere with other wireless devices. Use the following procedure to minimize interference: if you are adding new wireless units to a previous installation with Line 6 systems, first turn on the existing transmitters so their frequencies can be detected. Press the SETUP button on the receiver. The [sELECT FUNCTION] screen will appear; scroll with the ROTARY ENCODER to [CHANNEL SCAN], and press the ROTARY ENCODER to begin the scanning process. After approximately 6 seconds, the display will show channel numbers 1 through 14 on the bottom line, with a status indicator above each channel. The indicators and their applications are: Note: No audio will function while the receiver is on this channel-scanning page; you must select a channel by pressing the ROTARY ENCODER or press the EXIT button and leave the page to resume audio. Turn the ROTARY ENCODER to scroll through the list of channels; a flashing underline will follow the channel number as you scroll. Once you have highlighted a blank, unused channel, press the ROTARY ENCODER to select it. The receiver display will return to the main page with the new channel number shown. Note: Any of the channels can be selected, regardless of the RF conditions displayed for the channel. Selecting a channel showing significant RF interference can result in lessened range for the associated transmitter.
