  1. V2.0 Firmware provides improved performance as well as upgraded features and/or compatibility to existing Line 6 XD-V70 systems and separates: XD-V70 Transmitters RF2 mode in addition to the original RF1 mode 14 channel capability in RF2 mode or 12 channel in RF1 mode. XD-V70 Receivers Ability to lock to RF1 or RF2 mode transmitters 14 channel capability in RF2 mode A new RF Scan capability which identifies RF1, RF2 transmitters as well as possible interference sources on Line 6 channels. Switching between RF1 and RF2 Mode The XD-V70 V2.0 Firmware utilizes our latest digital wireless transmission method, and is fully channel compatible with the XD-V75 running RF2 mode. Multiple units of either of these models can be used together within the same location, as long as each unit is on a unique channel and no more than 14 units are used simultaneously. The XD-V70 receivers running V2.0 Firmware can automatically receive transmissions from previous generation of Line 6 wireless products, including the XD-V30, XD-V70, and Relayâ„¢ G30, Relayâ„¢ G50, and Relayâ„¢ G90 models with pre Version 2.0 Firmware, now referred to as RF1 mode. However, it is recommended to NOT mix usage of the RF1 and RF2 modes within the same location due to the channel frequencies in each system not being compatible. Depending on the situation, it may be desirable to switch transmitters from RF2 back to RF1 mode. To set THH12 or TBP12 transmitters running V2.0 firmware into RF1 mode, enter Setup mode to display the current channel, then while holding down the SELECT button, press and release the ON/MUTE button on the THH12 or VALUE button on the TBP12. The display will briefly show [XD-V7x RF1] or [XD-V7x RF2] to indicate whether it is operating in the old or new mode, respectively. This setting is retained when powering off, so as a reminder the display will also show this indication [RF1 or RF2] each time power is turned on. The XD-V7x receiver will display a [To] on the far right of the display to indicate while communicating with a RF1 software transmitter. RF Scan Mode Channel Scanning Procedure V2.0 firmware adds a sophisticated scanning capability that can determine the existence of interfering wireless devices that may compromise the performance range of operation on certain channels, and can also help assure selected wireless mic channels do not interfere with other wireless devices. Use the following procedure to minimize interference: if you are adding new wireless units to a previous installation with Line 6 systems, first turn on the existing transmitters so their frequencies can be detected. Press the SETUP button on the receiver. The [sELECT FUNCTION] screen will appear; scroll with the ROTARY ENCODER to [CHANNEL SCAN], and press the ROTARY ENCODER to begin the scanning process. After approximately 6 seconds, the display will show channel numbers 1 through 14 on the bottom line, with a status indicator above each channel. The indicators and their applications are: Note: No audio will function while the receiver is on this channel-scanning page; you must select a channel by pressing the ROTARY ENCODER or press the EXIT button and leave the page to resume audio. Turn the ROTARY ENCODER to scroll through the list of channels; a flashing underline will follow the channel number as you scroll. Once you have highlighted a blank, unused channel, press the ROTARY ENCODER to select it. The receiver display will return to the main page with the new channel number shown. Note: Any of the channels can be selected, regardless of the RF conditions displayed for the channel. Selecting a channel showing significant RF interference can result in lessened range for the associated transmitter.
  2. The XD-V75 receiver firmware can be updated via the mini-USB port connection to a host computer (Windows XP or better, or Mac OSX 10.5 or better) using the Line 6 Monkey software application. In addition, the XD-V75 receiver can function as an "interface" to update the Relay G90 and XD-V70 receivers. Updating an XD-V75 Receiver: Remove any currently connected Antennas from the BNC jacks. Power Switch to "Off" on the receiver, then disconnect the power cable to the XD-V75 Receiver. Connect a mini-USB cable to the back of the receiver mini-USB port and your host computer. Reconnect the power cable to the XD-V75 Receiver. LCD Display on the XD-V75 receiver should read: "LOADER ENABLED" (regardless if you physically flip the Power Switch to "On" or not). Launch Line 6 Monkey 1.50 (or higher, depending on current release build as of this reading). Be certain to log on in Monkey. Click on "Connect To Device" on the left. Choose "Line 6 Wireless Device USB" and click OK. In the following window, select "XD-V75 Receiver" in the list of all the wireless devices that appear. Click on the "Flash Memory" in the Update window. Click "Update Selection" or "Reinstall Latest", whichever appears. Click "I ACCEPT" and then "Yes". Don't break the USB connection during the update process. When completed you should see a "XD-V75 Receiver update successful" message. Click "OK". To get the receiver out of Loader Mode, unplug the unit, remove the USB cable, plug in the power and turn the unit on. Updating the G90 or XD-V70 Receivers: Look at the pictures in the Device Positioning for Updating XD-V7x Transmitters and Receivers document for the visual reference on how the devices must be positioned/connected physically for a successful update. Once the device to be updated is positioned/connected, follow steps 3-5 above to put the XD-V75 Receiver into Loader Mode. Click the Change Device button in Line 6 Monkey. Choose "Line 6 Wireless Device USB" and click OK. On the next screen, choose the appropriate device to update. Once Monkey switches to the new target device to be updated, follow along in the update wizard instructions in the Line 6 Monkey software window. Monkey will program the XD-V75 receiver to "connect" to the device to be updated. If you do not power up the target device when prompted within about 30 seconds, the connection will time out and give you the error message "No pass thru receiver found". After you click OK, you'll get an error message saying "Error connecting to device". Hit OK and Monkey will reprogram the XD-V75 again, then ask you to power up the target device. After powering up the device, Monkey will be ready to update it. Follow steps 8-10 above. When the update is complete, you will get a message saying so. You will also get instructions for verifying the version on the unit. To get the receiver out of Loader Mode, unplug the unit, remove the USB cable, plug in the power and turn the unit on. Having problems? Some users that were reporting errors had success when using a different computer and repeating the process. Try re-booting your computer and starting from the top by first re-flashing your V75 receiver. Once this is done you can proceed to flashing other units. If you are still having problems, create a support ticket from http://line6.com/support/tickets/. Please complete the System Profile in your account and send us a "Monkey Log" in the ticket: 1) Run Monkey until the error is encountered 2) Choose "Diagnostics..." from the Line 6 Monkey main menu (at the top of the Mac Finder) 3) A finder window will open up - you will see one or more .log files with date-stamped filenames. 4) Send the most recent log file - or any of the log files whose date correspond to the date when the error occurred.

  6. Update Instructions Available HERE NOTE: For X3 Live and X3 Pro users, see notes on subsequent firmware releases at https://line6.com/software/index.html. POD X3 Product Family Flash Memory v2.0 RELEASE NOTES: If you are a POD X3/X3 Live/X3 Pro owner, please download and install the latest version of Line 6 Monkey software and use it to update your POD X3 Live to this latest version of Flash Memory. For best results, calibrate pedal after update] POD X3 v2.0 is a FREE update to all POD X3 Product Family customers. It includes 12 additional FX inspired by the sounds of sought-after stompboxes and rack gear! What does it include? Vocoder: Our 14 band Vocoder is based on the classic rack units employed by recording studios and modular synths since the early '70s. Use the decay knob to slow down the Vocoder's responsiveness to create some haunting drones. Dynamic Delay: Made popular by the T.C. Electronic® 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay. While you play, the Dynamic Delay keeps the volume of the echoes turned down, so that the echoes don't overwhelm what you're doing. Dimension: Based on* the Roland® Dimension D. One of the first true stereo chorus units. Relatively subtle in its nature, it became an industry standard for double-track effects. Pitch Vibrato: Based on* the Boss® VB-2. It contained a circuit that produced bubbly vibrato, but was popular for its 'rise time' control that when engaged, sped up to where you last set it. Voice Box: Inspired by Vocoders, Vocal Tracts & Surgical Tubing. This model gives your guitar a sound that's typical of a classic talk box. V-Tron: Voice Box meets Mu-Tron® III. In this model your guitar again 'speaks' with an almost human voice, but now it does so in response to your playing. Octisynth: Inspired by eight armed denizens of the deep. Everyone knows that all you need is a bottleneck and a reverb tank to get whale sounds, but how about our friend the Octopus? Q Filter: Your very own parked wah! You've heard it before from Mark Knopfler and from Brian May of Queen's a wah 'parked' in one position. Pattern Tremolo: Inspired by* Lightfoot Labs Goatkeeper. This effect is what you'd get if you could hook up a vintage keyboard sequencer to a tremolo. Frequency Shifter: A ring modulator gives you both up and down shifted frequencies. Here you can select just the up or down shifted frequencies. Barberpole Phaser: A classic effect from the world of modular synths. This phaser either sounds like it's always going up or always down depending on how you set it. Set to stereo you get both! Script Phaser: Based on* MXR® Phase 90. Just like the original our model only features a Speed control * All product names used in this webpage are trademarks of their respective owners, which are in no way associated or affiliated with Line 6. 7. Q: What is the Spider FX Infusion? A: Spider FX Infusion is offered as a free firmware (1.52) update for all Spider IV (75, 120, 150, 150HD) amplifiers owners with a Line 6 FBV MkII Shortboard„¢ or Express„¢ Controller device. Q: Do I need to have the Mk II version of the FBV Express or shortboard to update the firmware on my Spider IV (75, 120, 150, HD150)? A: Yes, as the previous FBV (Mk I) does not have the USB connection necessary to connect to a computer for the update. You will also need to have the FBV Mk II Express/Shortboard registered to your user account to complete the install. Q: How do I connect my Spider IV (75, 120, 150, HD150) to my computer to perform the firmware update? A: See the following link for the Spider IV update information: Updating the Spider IV (75, 120, 150, 150HD) using the FBV Mk II and Line 6 Monkey Q: What is the Spider IV Edit software? A: The Spider IV Edit software allows you to edit and download tones for your Spider IV amplifier on your computer. See the following link for more information on using the Spider IV Edit software. Spider IV Edit v1.02 FAQs Q: Do I need to calibrate my Expression pedal on my FBV Mk II unit after I perform the firmware upgrade? A: Yes. See the following link for the information on how to calibrate your FBV Mk II pedal (and update the firmware if necessary): FBV/Shortboard/Express/FBV2 Controller: Calibration and F.A.Q.s FBV Mk II (Express and Shortboard) software update Q: What new effect models are included in the Spider FX Infusion firmware update? A: There are 28 new effects in the update 1.51 (there are no changes in the amp modeling). Here are the locations and descriptions of the new effects: FX-1 - Gain Blue Comp: Based on* the Boss® CS-1 Compression Vetta Juice: A Line 6 original originally created for our flagship Vetta II guitar amplifier. Boost & EQ: A stompbox compressor that also provides you with some EQ controls so you can further shape the tone. Screamer: Based on* an Ibanez® Tube Screamer®, the overdrive heard round the world. Killer Z: Based on* Boss® Metal Zone, the industry standard distortion pedal for metal players since 1989. Octave Fuzz: Based on the Tycobrahe Octavia, the classic fuzz+octave effect. Bass Overdrive: Based on* the Tech 21 Bass Sans Amp Clean Sweep: This is a wide range sweeping filter with a slow decay. It’s similar to Auto Wah, but with a band pass filter shape. FX-2 - Chorus/Phaser Analog Chorus: Based on* the Boss® CE-1 Chorus Ensemble. Square Chorus: Based on* the Boss® CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, but with a square wave acting as the magical modulator. Random Chorus: This chorus uses three different modulating filters all running randomly. Jet Flanger: Based on the A/DA Flanger. Lumpy Phase: Kinda like a Uni-Vibe®, but more radical. Warble-Matic: It can produce a nice mild phasey sound or with the depth maxed you can simulate the sound of an alien spacecraft . FX-3 - Delay/ Sweep Echo Analog Delay: Based on* the Boss® DM2 Analog Delay. Stereo Delay: Run this effect post in order to hear it in stereo, with one delay on the left, and another on the right. The time parameter sets the left delay’s time, while offset sets the right delay time as a percentage of the left. So, if you set time to 500ms, and offset to 50%, your right delay time will be 50% of 500ms in other words, 250ms. This effect will be summed in mono on a mono amplifier (i.e. Spider IV 75) but will be in stereo when using the stereo line out. Bubble Echo: Bubble Eko has a Sample and Hold filter on the repeats. A Sample and Hold filter takes a filter sweep (like the one on Sweep Echo), chops it up into little bits and rearranges them semi-randomly. Reverb King Spring Large Plate Small Room Tiled Room Chamber Medium Hall Large Hall Wah Chrome: Based on* a Vox® V847 Colorful: Based on* the wah part of a vintage Colorsound® Wah-Fuzz Weeper: Modeled after* an Arbiter® Cry Baby

  10. Firmware v2.09 Release Notes: Eliminated slight delay when entering Record mode. Fixed problem with extended-ascii characters in file names. Fixed Undo issue for recordings loaded directly from SD-Card, where the last two overdubs would be erased instead of only the most recent one. v2.09 Firmware Update Instructions: After you download the v2.09 update to your computer, please click here for step by step instructions on how to install the update. (Instructions are for v2.07, but they are essentially the same for v2.09. Note: If you are updating from v2.07, you can skip Step 4 -- no need to power up your Spider Jam with the SD card inserted -- simply insert SD card with power on as described in Step 3, then proceed to Step 5). Note: SD Card must be no larger than 2 GB capacity! Spider Jam Advanced Guide: For in-depth info on features and functionality of the Spider Jam not included in the Pilot's Handbook, check out: Spider Jam Advanced Guide. WARNING: BACK UP YOUR FILES! The v2.09 update will erase all the internal recordings you have made. If you want to save them, use an SD card to create backups (via the TRANSFER ALL TO CARD command) then copy them from your SD card onto your PC for safe keeping (using an SD card reader). You can then reload your files using an SD card at any time after you have completed the update. The v2.09 update will erase all the custom guitar presets you have made. Here are the instructions on Saving and Loading the presets to and from the Spider Jam: STORING PRESETS Created a User Tone and Saved it to a user location. In the SETTINGS/TONE menu, please make sure RECORDINGS SET TONE is set to ON. Made a recording with that guitar tone and save the recording to the internal memory. Do this for every preset you would like to store. In the SAVE menu, select the TRANSFER ALL TO CARD option. All of your recordings and their associated tone will be saved to the SD card. [*]LOADING PRESETS To transfer them back into the amp, go to the SAVE menu and choose the TRANSFER ALL FROM CARD option. This will load the recordings and the associated presets back onto the Spider Jam. Now, when you load a recording that was transferred onto the Spider Jam from the SD Card, the preset that was stored with the recording will be loaded with the recording. It will show in the SETTINGS/TONE menu with an asterisk (*) next to the name. To store this preset back into the Spider Jam User presets, go to the SAVE menu and select SAVE GUITAR TONE to store the preset in the User location you desire. Note: If you are updating from v1.04, you should back up your recordings by connecting a recording device to your Spider Jam RCA Outputs/JM4 Stereo Line Out (tape or hard disk recorder, computer sound card, etc.) then record them as you would any other recorded material in real time. (Tip: Record them in WAV format at 44.1, 16 bit mono; that way you can reload them into your Spider Jam later). Instructions for updating (also attached): 1. If you haven't done so already, download the latest firmware to your computer desktop from the Line 6 website (log in with your Line 6 User Name) here: Spider Jam 2.09 Firmware. The downloaded file will be named "fw.bin", with no number. Please save this to your desktop to easily find the file once the file has been downloaded. Note: You will need to delete any previous Spider Jam updates from your desktop prior to saving the Spider Jam 2.09 firmware, as the both devices will not recognize any firmware with an extension or name alterations. 2. Copy the downloaded fw.bin file to a blank SD card via an SD card reader. When the copy is complete, put the downloaded fw.bin file in a safe place on your PC for future reference -- for example, put it in a new folder labeled 'Spider Jam Flash', noting the version number. 3. Insert your SD card into the Spider Jam SD card slot. Note: Spider Jam owners running v1.04 should press and hold the SAVE button while powering up the Spider Jam (release SAVE after Spider Jam powers up from the SD card). 4. Press the SAVE button to display the menu items in the LCD if they aren't already displayed. 5. Turn the wheel and navigate to FIRMWARE UPGRADE at the bottom of the menu list then press Right Arrow to display the upgrade screen. 6. Press Up Arrow for YES to proceed with the update -- the Spider Jam or JM4 Looper will update itself from the SD Card. When the update is complete, the Spider Jam will power cycle itself. Note: Do not turn off power in the middle of the update! 7. Verify the update was successful by previewing a few Songs and Drum tracks (scroll thru the list; each track will play for a few seconds when you select it). 8. After verifying the update was successful, press the SAVE button again to display the menu list. 9. Turn the wheel and navigate to FORMAT CARD then press Right Arrow to display the format screen. 10. Press Up Arrow for YES and the Spider Jam/JM4 Looper will format the SD Card, preparing it for normal operation. 11. When formatting is complete, you're all set. If you ever want to reinstall your firmware, go back to your computer and copy the 'fw.bin' file to your SD Card, then repeat the above steps from Step 2. 12. If you want to load your backed up .WAV files into your Spider Jam again, simply copy them from your computer into the "LINE6" folder on your SD card using your SD card reader, then load them into your Spider Jam using the IMPORT WAV FILE FROM CARD command (consult the Spider Jam Advanced Guide for info on the option of viewing and loading your files via the SD Recordings Browser). If there is no LINE6 folder on the SD Card root directory, please create one. Format Alert: If your SD Card is rejected by the Spider Jam as not being FAT16, you should format your card and start over. See Format Instructions below.
