  1. Update Instructions Available HERE NOTE: For X3 Live and X3 Pro users, see notes on subsequent firmware releases at https://line6.com/software/index.html. POD X3 Product Family Flash Memory v2.0 RELEASE NOTES: If you are a POD X3/X3 Live/X3 Pro owner, please download and install the latest version of Line 6 Monkey software and use it to update your POD X3 Live to this latest version of Flash Memory. For best results, calibrate pedal after update] POD X3 v2.0 is a FREE update to all POD X3 Product Family customers. It includes 12 additional FX inspired by the sounds of sought-after stompboxes and rack gear! What does it include? Vocoder: Our 14 band Vocoder is based on the classic rack units employed by recording studios and modular synths since the early '70s. Use the decay knob to slow down the Vocoder's responsiveness to create some haunting drones. Dynamic Delay: Made popular by the T.C. Electronic® 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay. While you play, the Dynamic Delay keeps the volume of the echoes turned down, so that the echoes don't overwhelm what you're doing. Dimension: Based on* the Roland® Dimension D. One of the first true stereo chorus units. Relatively subtle in its nature, it became an industry standard for double-track effects. Pitch Vibrato: Based on* the Boss® VB-2. It contained a circuit that produced bubbly vibrato, but was popular for its 'rise time' control that when engaged, sped up to where you last set it. Voice Box: Inspired by Vocoders, Vocal Tracts & Surgical Tubing. This model gives your guitar a sound that's typical of a classic talk box. V-Tron: Voice Box meets Mu-Tron® III. In this model your guitar again 'speaks' with an almost human voice, but now it does so in response to your playing. Octisynth: Inspired by eight armed denizens of the deep. Everyone knows that all you need is a bottleneck and a reverb tank to get whale sounds, but how about our friend the Octopus? Q Filter: Your very own parked wah! You've heard it before from Mark Knopfler and from Brian May of Queen's a wah 'parked' in one position. Pattern Tremolo: Inspired by* Lightfoot Labs Goatkeeper. This effect is what you'd get if you could hook up a vintage keyboard sequencer to a tremolo. Frequency Shifter: A ring modulator gives you both up and down shifted frequencies. Here you can select just the up or down shifted frequencies. Barberpole Phaser: A classic effect from the world of modular synths. This phaser either sounds like it's always going up or always down depending on how you set it. Set to stereo you get both! Script Phaser: Based on* MXR® Phase 90. Just like the original our model only features a Speed control * All product names used in this webpage are trademarks of their respective owners, which are in no way associated or affiliated with Line 6. 5. Deutsch Français Important Notes: These instructions also apply to POD HD400 and POD HD300 and their associated editors. It is highly recommended that these updates are installed in a specific sequence. Please see the installation notes* below. Bug Fixes These updates address a bug which allows invalid data to be introduced to presets. The invalid data is caused by asynchronous communication between the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro hardware device and the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit software application. In rare instances, recalling presets containing invalid data may cause intermittent high volume events. Installing POD HD/HD500/HD Pro firmware v2.62 and POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v2.26 prevents invalid data from being introduced into presets. During synchronization between POD HD/HD500/HD Pro and POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit, the hardware displays a ‘Sync In Progress’ message and does not respond to any buttons or knobs until synchronization is complete. Additionally, any presets which contain invalid data are reset to an initialized state. These presets are easily identified as ‘New Tone (Reset)’. *Installation Notes Please follow these steps sequentially: Disconnect any audio connections to the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro, connect to the computer via USB and save a preset Bundle, Set Lists, or individual presets from POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v1.06 (if you do not wish to save any existing presets you may skip this step) Quit the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit app and launch Line 6 Monkey to install POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v2.26 Complete the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit installation and launch Monkey once again to install POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Flash Memory v2.62 During the installation, Monkey will ask if you want to keep your presets, click ‘No’, and complete the installation following the on-screen instructions. On the POD HD500, you *must* reset the global setup options which includes resetting the Setlist names and pedal calibration by: Disconnect the USB cable connection between HD500 and host computer. Power off the POD HD500. Power on the POD HD500 while holding the LEFT ARROW [*] If you do not do this, one of the tell-tale symptoms that may surface after a Monkey Flash Memory update is that the HD500 will be stuck in a continuous re-boot/power cycling state (you'll keep seeing the Logo and the unit keeps re-starting itself). Sometimes this may not occur, but a secondary telltale sign that a user has not performed a Global Settings reset is the USB communication between the HD500 and HD500 Edit software will be extremely slow/sluggish. ***NOTE: Please also make sure to re-calibrate the onboard expression pedal of the HD500 after performing the Global Settings reset. Instructions: How to calibrate the POD HD500X\HD500 Expression Pedal. [*]Launch POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit to restore any saved presets. **Please note that any previously saved presets that were corrupted in any way will be discarded and set to New Tone (Reset) once imported into POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit 2.00. For more information about POD HD/HD500/HD Pro, visit our POD HD500X\HD500\POD HD\POD HD Pro FAQ. Advanced User's Guide The latest version of the Advanced User's Guide for the POD HD500 can be found here. Ces presets ressemblent à ceci: "New Tone (Reset)". 8. Hello everybody, Another thread about these problems. I know there already are a lot, but none of them helped me. I bought a used HD500 with an dead USB port (i changed it, i work in electronics) and the famous boot loop problem on Line6 welcome screen. I would like to reinstall the device's firmware. First, Monkey (last version) won't install the drivers (the wizard does the work, the files are where they are supposed to be, but when i reopen Monkey, it still displays that driver aren't updated, even when i do it manually). Is it linked with the fact that the device was never recognized by my computer? (Win 10, Lenovo laptop, USB 3.0 may be another source of problem?). It never appeared in Windows Device Manager. Edit : i disabled USB 3.0 in my bios, so they work as USB 2.0 ports, no result. (but may work for other issues) I've tried to reset with left arrow, nothing, reset with down arrow effectively opens update mode, but still nothing, reset with right arrow, nothing. USB cable is OK. Do you know a way to check if device's USB chip is OK ? Thank you in advance.

  10. Hello, in a recent firmware update for the spider V, a new option was added to the "Global Settings", that gives you the ability to use the phones output as a line output - independent of the internal speaker and the master volume knob. The spider V has also an AUX input jack, which doesn't go through the effects, but goes right into the speaker. In both output modes (line/phones) the aux input still goes into the output jack. It would be really good, if the AUX input could be routed only to the speaker and not to the output jack by another option in the "Global Settings". Could this be implemented through a firmware update? Is there any possibility Line 6 could release such a firmware update? Thanks for your time, Greenscreener
  11. Just got a brand new Helix LT and wanted to upgrade it to the latest and greatest. I downloaded the latest driver, updater, and the 2.21 Installer. Whenever I run the Installer, I get the following message: Firmware Update Failed An error has ocurred. Please try again. Please follow these steps when updating your Line 6 Product. 1. Turn the power switch off, then back on. 2. Ensure the USB cable is connected directly to your computer and not to a hub or peripheral such as a keyboard or mouse. 3. Click 'Continue' and attempt the update again. Of course I follow those steps and get the same results. Now the Helix doesn't even boot - it shows some glitchy blinky logo on the screen with the message "Boot failure Entered Update Mode!" There's also a red -3 in the upper left corner. Any advice??? (I'm running a Win 7 machine and followed the steps to update)
  12. Hi all, Just did the firmware update on my helix LT (2.70) and It now seems to have a stability issue when using Helix as an audio interface. Every half hour or so, the usb seems to disconnect for about a second or so and switchs back to the inboard sound card of the PC. It then reconnects as quickly as it has quit and works fine for another half hour approx. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem too? Helix is the only device connected via USB and if I don't use it as an interface (say I only use the midi over usb fuction) It works fine... I don't reject the PC being a possible cause for this problem but it didn't behave that way prior to update... Thanks
  13. So, I´ve seen plenty of posts here of people having a "dead helix" after trying to update it, so I guess it just was my turn. I recently realized that I´ve never updated the firmware in my helix, and was gona do that. In the updating process I suddenly just got an error in the line 6 updater, telling me to restart the helix and try again. But it doesnt seem like anything helps. The helix is just flashing on the led screen between the helix logo, and the helix rack logo, for some reason. I have a Helix floor so thats kind of weird. I did go through the checklist that is provided in the line 6 updater as well. After searching through forums on the internet, i´m apparently not the only one who has had this problem. I tried all the hotkey commands on start up, while holding down buttons, and none of them seem to help either. Only when i try to start it up in safe mode, the screen is not flashing, and there is no logo there. Anyway, would love to get some help.

  16. I don't spend too much time on the forums so I'm not exactly sure where people go to share things like 'wish lists' for possible added fx models in future firmware updates.....so I thought I'd add one here! I just watched a presenter demo the Mobius (from Strymon) and I LOVED the 'Destroyer' setting!! It lets you tear apart the regular, pristine signal at your selected bit rate, also lets you dial in or out some 'crackle', and then you've got a tone that sounds exactly like it's coming out of an old vinyl record player!!! I don't know why but lately I've been digging all those lo-fi type effects for some reason. I love the contrast they can give to all the great, clear tones you can get out of the Helix....doing something like that can really wake the audience up! Of course, I'm fairly new to the Helix so maybe there's already something in there like that so maybe someone can point me in the right direction, but if not, that might be a cool model to add in a future firmware update. Keep up the great work Line 6!!!!

  18. I am trying to update my JTV 89 F using my Helix as the interface through line 6 monkey. I have both the line 6 cable and the quarter inch jack connected to the guitar. Every time I try to update the firmware from 2.21 to 2.23 I am getting the following 2 errors (screenshot attached). Can anyone help on how I can get over this issue? ryi
  19. So is it officially done as far as development goes? Are we stuck with a compressor after all drive/amp blocks? Are we stuck with completely disabling iTunes in the app if we don't want to have the first track blast out of our headphones when we start up the app? are we stuck having to log into the App every other time we open it? this thing is soooooo close to being a worthy live backup device, but as of right now its pretty much only good for home jamming (which it is very good for), but it seems a few minor tweaks could really improve things.
  20. And shows this message: ----- Update failed. (Code 80007204) Hardware device failed to enter update mode. ----- Plz give me a solution. Thanks.
  21. OR do you think they are saving the goodies for one giant update around NAMM? I know some get grilled for asking questions like these, but it's been almost 3 months sine the last update. So I think it's a fair curiosity. I personally would like to see, more than anything, some signal metering input/output & at least a clip indicator on each block in the chain. That is definitely my number 1! Plenty of Ideascale submissions on this. Next in the list would be the expansion of HX reverbs. I think the last update fixed the mono versions wet not being wet enough issue. But I am not sure on that, as I am still on 2.50. I would also love to see more parameters in the HX cabs. Specifically off axis mic positioning. That would be really cool. As far as Amps, I would say the XTC, and more Engl. Other than that I would want more Line6 originals. I realize that the next update will not include all of this. Though hopefully some of this will be, especially my #1. What do you guys think? What would you like to see?
  22. I just received my amplifi 75. Tried updating over bluetooth and update failed. But I cannot factory reset the amplifier, I powered down the amp, pressed down the Master volume button and tone button. Nothing happened. I powered it down again and did the same thing for a minute nothing happened. I even kept pressing them for 5 minutes and nothing happened! Is there a way around this is there something wrong I'm doing??

  24. I'm experiencing two issues in 2.53 that I'm pretty sure are NOT in my head: Issue experienced while programming presets with H9 being controlled via Helix MIDI for program changes, etc. - At times when switching between snapshots, all Distortion blocks will be turned on, when - previously on that Snapshot, specific Distortion blocks had been assigned/selected - MIDI Program Change messages being sent by Instant Commands on Snapshots are being changed/re-assigned. Most recent time it happened was when I was setting up a new Snapshot to send PC Instant command to select preset on the H9. Where, previously - Snapshots had been setup to send: Snapshot 1: PC 0 Snapshot 2: PC 0 Snapshot 3: PC 1 Snapshot 4: PC 2 After the new Snapshot (6) add been setup to send PC 9; all other Snapshots were now setup to send PC 1
  25. G70 will not update. Progress bar never gets beyond 80%, sometimes it times out with an error at 0% and everything in between. "Firmware Update Failed An error has ocurred. Please try again." Done this probably 50 times, downloaded the update locally and tried updating from there. No luck, no help. Any ideas?
