  3. Last weekend, I connected my HD400 to my laptop for the first time in a VERY long time. Line 6 Monkey told me there were updates. So, I figured why the hell not. So, I told them to run. While the update was being performed, Line 6 Monkey popped up an error message saying it had encountered an error and would be shutting down. When the update started, it said that the FULL update should be run uninterrupted so I left the HD400 sit with it saying DOWNLOADING.... for a couple hours. I came back and it was still like that so I assumed that things got messed up and I'd have to start over so I powered it down. Only thing is, now it won't power back up properly. I get a message that says DSP BOOT ERROR then NOTHING!!! I've tried resetting to factory settings. I've tried using different cables, USB ports etc and nothing. Please help. Can someone tell me where to go from here to fix my HD400?
  4. Hello! Upgrading my Amplifi fx100 to 2.10.00, first time (from 1.01.0). Installed Utility, plugged it in USB 3.0 port (Windows 7 64 bit). Launched in firmware update mode. Pressed Next in the update utility. Seeing "Update In Progress. Do not turn off or unplug your device at this time". Progress bar is empty and it's saying "Installing firmware update...". One hour passed with no changes. How to cancel/retry upgrade process without a risk of having entirely broken device?
  5. Some people have reported that after a JTV flash upgrade usually to v2.0 or v2.1, that the B and E strings have very low volume levels in comparison to the E,A,B,G strings on some models. Some have reported that a subsequent reflash or two fixed the problem, and others that they had to roll back to v1.9 to obtain models that had balanced string volumes, and finally some dived in to Workbench HD and tweaked the affected models to balance out the string sounds. I recently hit this issue when I upgraded to v2.1 and a subsequent reflash did not fix it, and as I had a gig coming up I had to roll back to v1.9 as a quick way to get back to balanced string volumes as I did not have the time to go in WB HD and manually adjust for the differences. I think It would be very useful to find out why this problem occurs and why it only affects some users and hopefully Line 6 can then fix the problem. So if we can gather plenty of useful data in this thread then we can pass it on to Line 6 to investigate. Please answer the following questions: if you have you ever had E and B strings at very low volume immediately following a flash upgrade? (a) what flash version were you upgrading from and to? ( B) what model JTV were you updating? © were you updating directly via JTV dongle or indirectly through an HD500 or HD500X or other device? (d) how did you fix the problem? (i) reflash firmware? How many times? (ii) tweaked string volumes global and models in Wokbench HD? (iii) roll back to v1.9 or another fw level? (e) have you ever experienced this problem on a fw release earlier than v2.0 and if so, what level was it? (f) which models had the problem? My answers: (a) v1.9 to v2.1 ( B) JTV59 © updated via HD500 (d) attempted 2 reflashes, but then rolled back to v1.9 (e) no (f) T-MOD positions 1,3,5 and SPANK 1 though 5 Thanks in advance for your help and answers.
  6. Ok, I have had this thing for a few months. I haven't used it much...I also have a DT50 & a Pocket Pod. I can actually use the Pocket Pod live a lot just by running my normal pedals into it like I would an older amp without an fx loop. I decided to record with my HD500 & of course it needed to update. It started to do that LINE6 Loop thing at it's boot up. It wasn't hard to find where someone (many times) tells how to stop it & then, of course, update what needs to be updated. I have updated the Flash countless times using my Line 6 monkey & it wont seem to update. It'll say there's a communication problem with my device. I have used a couple of different USB cables that all work on other devices. So what's the problem & how do i fix it? I was in the middle of an edit & actually seem to have lost my "Bundle." That really sucks because I finally created what I would think is an incredible blend of a "Marshal" & a "Boogie." So...help...please...
  7. Hello, I recently bought a FBV Shortboard MKII to go with my Spider IV 120. I've connected up to my laptop using the correct cables with the intention of updating the firmware and using Spider Online. However, I downloaded Monkey and tried to update the Flash Memory update for the amp. Every single time I try, I get the following message. "Spider IV 120 update failed. (Code 8000000A) An undefined error occurred. Try the update again making sure the cables are still connected." Now I can't use the amp at all, as it's stuck on a menu saying "Ready to Update." I also cannot seem to factory reset the amp at all. I really don't know what to do. PLEASE help anyone?! :(
  8. Update Instructions: All Spider Valve Mk II 112, 212 and HD100 amplifiers can be updated using an FBV MkII Express, FBV MkII Shortboard, or via MIDI with a USB to MIDI interface as follows: Connect your FBV MkII to your Spider Valve MKII using a standard FBV cable. 9. On the POD HD500, you *must* reset the global setup options which includes resetting the Setlist names and pedal calibration by: 1. Disconnecting the USB cable connection between HD500 and host computer. 2. Power off the POD HD500. 3. Power on the POD HD500 while holding the LEFT ARROW (button while plugging in the power supply to the POD. If you do not do this, one of the tell-tale symptoms that may surface after a Monkey Flash Memory update is that the HD500 will be stuck in a continuous re-boot/power cycling state (you'll keep seeing the Logo and the unit keeps re-starting itself). Sometimes this may not occur, but a secondary telltale sign that a user has not performed a Global Settings reset is the USB communication between the HD500 and HD500 Edit software will be extremely slow/sluggish. ***PLEASE NOTE: Please also make sure to re-calibrate the onboard expression pedal of the HD500 after performing the Global Settings reset. Instructions: How to calibrate the POD HD500 Expression Pedal.

Select "yes". 5) Wait for the patches to load, then select "OK" when the patches are loaded. Line 6 Monkey Troubleshooting Q: I'm trying to update my Line 6 device with my MIDI interface but Line 6 Monkey doesn't recognize my gear? A: When updating a Line 6 device via a MIDI interface, please ensure that you are using the latest drivers for the interface. These drivers can usually be downloaded from the web site of the interface's manufacturer. Line 6 advises you do this in order to ensure that the updates will go smoothly. Q: Line 6 Monkey will not connect to the internet so that I can do my updates. Monkey says that there is no connection to the internet even though I am connected and able to access the internet normally? A: There are a number of issues that can cause Line 6 Monkey to not be able to connect with the Line 6 servers. The biggest offenders are pop-up blockers and surfing anonymizers. Monkey uses specific information in the internet headers to verify the connection between our servers and your gear. The end result of using programs like "Ghost Surf" (a popular surfing anonymizer) is that they strip out this information. As a result, Line 6 Monkey and the Line 6 servers cannot agree that they have a valid connection available. If you are using the Ghost Surf program or a similar surfing anonymizer service, then you would need to temporarily disable this feature while you are using LINE 6 MONKEY. Most such programs have a way to specify a particular web domain as 'safe', and you may simply be able to tell the program that line6.com can be trusted. If not, however, you will have to consult the documentation for the software to determine how to disable it for use with Line 6 Monkey. If you are using a product called GHOST SURF - make sure you don't have the "eye" visible in the task bar. Right click on the "eye" and select "exit" to turn Ghost Surf off. If this doesn't help, it may be one of the background processes that Ghost Surf starts. Ghost Surf 2005 will start a process called Scheduler daemon.exe which can be stopped using the Windows Task Manager. You can open the Task Manager Window by hitting the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys at the same time. Just select the Scheduler daemon.exe process and click the "End Process" button. To restart the process, go to the Ghost Surf 2005 directory and double click on the Scheduler daemon icon which is a lightning bolt. You'll also want to check and see if you (or your ISP) are running proxies that are not up to date. You can check this in the Tools/Internet Options menu of your browser. Q: Which server port does Monkey access and how does it need to be configured? A:Your server connections need to have port 80 outbound. Another option is to use a proxy server. Q: Line 6 Monkey freezes while detecting MIDI devices and I have to close it out from Task Manager. Is it broken? A: There are some 'virtual' MIDI devices that don't react well to MIDI scans and can hang the system. Before running Line 6 Monkey, make sure that any drivers for non-physical MIDI devices (like virtual synths and the like) are disabled to avoid this problem. Q: Why does Line 6 Monkey ask me to register my device even after I already have? A: The program is set to constantly remind you to register your gear, so if you are not signed in you will be prompted to register. You can always select "Remind Me Later" to continue to Line 6 Monkey. 1.
