  1. hi there, I recently bought a used DT-50 112 combo, and to make it easier to switch between channels picked up a Boss FS-5L foot switch. Tried it out when i got it a few weeks ago, worked fine. Hadn't put the amp on for about two weeks, then tried it tonight and had issues. firstly when I put the TS cable into the foot switch input it would automatically switch from A to B, even when the foot switch itself was not connected. [never B to A though] I even had issues switching it back to A with the front selector switch. - I tried about six different TS cables, none of them worked with the foot switch. - Changed batteries in the Boss, [even though brand new], light would work to indicate it is working, but still no action on the amp. I then turned it off and back on again, holding down the channel select switch on the amp for six seconds. [read about it here somewhere, thought it couldn't hurt]. After this the foot switch input and the Boss would not change the channel, although the switch would. Could the jack input be damaged in some way? and is it an easy fix? other than that the amp is fine, but its an annoyance to not be able to switch channels easily with the new foot switch. Has this happened to anyone else, and what was your solution? Also, if needed, does anyone know the best place in Melbourne, Australia, to fix this type of issue? cheers, Sean
  2. Hello everyone! I have this problem: I want to use the effects of my POD HD 500 and the distortion of my Fender Roc Pro 100 Head (with 1/4 footswitch). Whats the best solution to trigger and change the channels (clean, drive, boost, reverb) of my Fender amp through my POD and also activate POD FX? I saw some options, like MIDI RESOLUTION RELAY CONTROLLER or AMP GIZMO. Which is the best option? Someone has experience with this? How do you set up to configure POD + MIDI + AMP HEAD? Thanks a lot! Emi
  3. Hey all. One thing I love having on my tone is a rotary effect where it can speed up and slow down with the press of a footswitch, like a Leslie. The Rotosphere does that, but it's big and bulky, and I would like to utilize the Rotary Drum/Horn effect on the M9 instead. However, it looks like the only way I could achieve this is by using the EX-1 Expression Pedal and setting the up position to fast and the down to slow. I would rather use a footswitch, or a separate sustain pedal, to execute the simple effect of toggling the slow/fast options for the rotary effect on the M9. Is that possible, and if so are there any pedals that can do that?
  4. Hello everyone, I have an issue with my POD HD500 unit. When I turn it on, footswitchers FS1-FS4 don't work right away. It's needed to keep the unit turned on for several minutes ("warm up") or reboot it several times or switch different channels to get footswitchers working. The things get worse because there is no any predictable behavior - sometimes only 1 switcher doesn't work but at the next time it might be 2 or 3 of them. I tried to clean switchers contacts but it didn't help. Also I tried to re-install the latest firmware and reset Flash using Right Arrow + Power On. It didn't help either. It's reproducible on both factory and user presets (e.g. on A1: Son Of Plexi) I would be very appreciate for any other suggestions how to get it fixed.
  5. Hi there, I have a little problem with my pod hd500: When working with patches in the ABCD mode the postion of the effects assigned to the footswitches 1-4 always stay the same. What I mean is: I have saved a patch with a effect on fs1 that is activated. I turn it off. Then I change to preset 2 and back to the first one (with the effect pedal). The effect will be turned on again, even if I left it deactivated. When switching to a preset the footswitches always return exactly to the positon in which they are saved. :( I find that really annoying. Any possibilties to change that, so that the pod will remember if I turned the effect on or off without saving it everytime (which isn't possible while playing of course). I hope you understood my question, :) Steven
  6. Hi guys, I'm having a strange problem with my HD400. The thing is it randomly turns up or down any of the FX1, FX2, FX3 knobs of the "Smart FX" controls and the reverb knob too. It can be seen in the screen when it happens. I'm not quite sure what causes it, but I suspect that it has to do with the footswitches. Maybe hitting them a little harder than necessary causes this failure. Does anyone knows if it can be solved or fixed?
  7. Hello everyone, I bought a new DT25 stack today, and I need to get a footswitch. Before posting I searched the forum and saw several posts saying "any two button footswitch will do", but I also read posts that people had issues with their two button switch, so . . . Does Line 6 make a footswitch for this amp? (please don't answer with HD-500, that may be a next step, but I'm not there yet :) If not, what switches do you guys use successfully? What do you recommend (make/model)? Thanks, I appreciate the help! Dennis
  8. My HD500 works fine and all and I know the 2 differences between HD500 and HD500X. I hardly use dual-amps but I was interested in knowing if footpedals on HD500X endure better. It's my belief that the changes are only aesthetic; just more light, different footswitch but the microswitch in the board is probably the same one. Does anyone know if footswitches are actually better?
  9. Does anyone know if there is a way to set up any sort of footswitch (maybe MIDI) to toggle through tones in Pod Farm? I have a ux1 running into a Mac Book Pro. I'm trying to make Pod Farm hands free. Let me know if you have any info. Thanks!
  10. Anyone having the same problem with the x3 Live? x3 live footswitches randomly just don't switch. It started with the stomp and mod switch no reacting, then the bank-up bank-down switches, now also the A,B,C,D switches. Getting worse over the time. I thought about buying a used x3 live so I have a spare one in case it runs completely out of order, but if this is a frequent problem with the x3live, this wouldn't make sense. Upgrating to HD500 is no option because it is not downwards compatible. Since my strategy is to have 1-4 sounds per song for my repertoire of about 500 songs - my sound database got big over the years- , the HD 500 would force me to nearly start from scratch.
  11. Hello everyone, I was wondering if I could use a friend's Pod Floor Plus simply as a footswitch controller on stage for my Pod HD Pro. The things is that I only want the Floor Pod to switch the presets of my HD Pro and to assign the effects to the buttons (as it can eb done in a shortboard MK II). How would it be connected? Thanks in advance to you! :) Xavi
  12. Hi, Is it possible to change the setlist with a footswitch? I mean with the bank selection you can switch through the banks of the actual setlist. But what if I like to change to another setlist. Can this only done manually with the Preset knob? Thanks
  13. Hi, first of all, my english sucks, so im gonna try to do my best Its possible to change the amp value of the drive with a footswitch on the pod hd500x ? i've search all over the internet and all i've got is turn on and off effects and amps, but not how to change this. Please Help
  14. Hey gang! I'm a relatively inexperienced user of POD Farm, and I just had a quick question regarding footswitches. For what it's worth, I'm using POD Farm 2.55 on a Windows 7 PC with the POD Studio GX. What I need is a foot pedal that can cycle through tone presets I put together in a Setlist, and I don't need it to do much else at the moment. I know the FBV Shortboard MkII is capable of this, but at the moment I'm in a bind and can't afford to spend that much. Don't get me wrong, the Shortboard looks like a wonderful product and I definitely plan to one day invest in it! However, I have a show coming up in a couple weeks that I'll be needing this pedal for, and based on my research, it looks like I'll have to go third-party for this. So, does anyone know of such a product? I'd prefer a USB footswitch in the $50 or so price range, but I'll take whatever I can get. Any input is much appreciated! Thanks a ton, guys. Hope to hear back from you soon! Thanks, Ross
  15. Hello, sometimes, using Gearbox with my UX8, the 2 footswitches don't work. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. It's not a pedal problem (I tested with an external software, midi ox, and they always work properly), it's just a Gearbox problem. I use the latest available Gearbox version and latest UX8 drivers. Also the metronome, sometimes doesn't work. How can I fix that? Thank you!
  16. Hi, I own the jm4 since 2010, and have a problem that I can not record anymore. The recording session does not start even I press on the Recording footswitch (I can hear the click!) This problem starts earlier this year were I could record with the 2nd or 3rd press on the switch, but today the footswich is not activating. I do not feel that there is a mechanical problem. Is there anybody with an idea? In additional, the volume is also sometimes increasing without any action while playing ? - Any idea? Thanks!
  17. I have an FBV Shortboard MKII and I have a problem with the down footswitch and a similar problem with the Function 2 footswitch The down switch does not always make contact If I spin the chrome switch in the housing and wiggle it comes back for a couple of presses but basically I think the switch is probably broken Can they be replaced easily? I tried to undo the allen key but 3mm is too large and 2.5mm is too small Is it AF or UNF instead of metric? Does anyone know the size? The Function 2 switch is clearly on its way out Again, before I take it apart, can someone describe the switches and tell me if they can be repaired or replaced Thanks Mark
  18. Alright so im hoping i can get some good help here. So I recently upgraded from the HD500 to the 500x. As soon as i started to play on the 500X, i noticed how loud the foot switches sound. They make a terrible, loud, "click" sound when playing through an amp. Is the problem my amp or the HD500X? Should i return my 500X for another one? Or is the problem universal? As a matter of fact, any contact with the device makes that "click" sound. Pressing down on buttons, toggling switches, moving knobs, etc... Please help. Thank you.
