  1. Hi, wondered if anyone had any suggestions. So I'm using the HX effects for bass into a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes 500 amp. The amp has an intelligent footswitch for going between clean, vintage microtubes circuit, B3K circuit, and mute (4 buttons). When trying to use an effects loop on the HX effects through the loop send/return on the amp, it is bypassing the footswitch somehow, so I can't change between the onboard distortions or mute the amp. This doesn't happen with 2 cable method (no loop) and didn't happen using individual effects in the loop... any ideas?
  2. I know I can set up different Variax tunings for different snapshots within a preset on my Helix Floor. However, I'm already using 4 snapshots within my main preset to give me different amp/fx/drive etc. (typical Clean, Edge of Breakup, Crunch and Lead snapshots). I am in Stomp/Snap mode, giving me 4 footswitches on the top row and my 4 snapshots on the bottom row. What I REALLY want to do is use three of the footswitches to switch between 3 different Variax tunings independently of whatever snapshot I have selected - i.e. I want to be able to use each of the tunings on any of my 4 snapshots. Is this possible?
  3. There seems to be a bug with assigning multiple control parameters to a footswitch. Setup: Assign a footswitch to toggle between 2 settings in a delay block: (A) Low feedback + low mix (B) High feedback + high mix In Global Settings > Preferences, snapshot edits set to "Recall". Problem: Helix gets "confused" about the ON and OFF states of the footswitch. This typically happens when changing snapshots. Description: 1) Select Snapshot 1. Press footswitch > ON. Parameters set correctly to (B), footswitch lights up. 2) Switch to Snapshot 2. Press footswitch > ON as well. No issues so far. 3) Switch back to Snapshot 1. Sometimes this bug occurs: press footswitch again > it goes from ON to OFF, but parameters jump from state (B) > (A) > (B). Parameter states are (B) but footswitch light shows OFF, meaning states are reversed. 4) Switch back to Snapshot 2. Footswitch functions normally, with ON corresponding to state (B). 5) Switch back to Snapshot 1. Footswitch behavior still reversed (ON = state (A)) This setup was working fine before the update. It started after updating to 2.80. I've tried this on a new preset, same problem happens occasionally. But not always. Sometimes restarting the unit fixes it for awhile. Can anyone verify?
  4. Hello All, I am in a quandary. I have four snapshots set on the top line and also have some foot switches at the bottom. I ONLY want to erase the four footswitches at the bottom not the actual effect because I want to use the four slots below the Snapshots to control Ableton for live performance. I know how to assign MIDI controls so I am good there. I also DO NOT want to erase the effect just where it is on the scribble strip. When I hit more it goes into full stomp mode that I will put the effects. Any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi Folks, Just got a HX Stomp. Great pedal! One seemingly silly question I have is: will a 3 or 4 button midi amp footswitch work with the HX Stomp? (Like a Peavey or Randall 4 or 5 switch for amps) for turning fx on and off? Or would I be better off with a Midi Mongoose. I don't want to spend any more than $125 if possible. Whats an inexpensive way to add foot switches. -Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. Just joined. Thanks!
  6. Hi guys, I don't know what is it that I'm doing but I don't seem to be able assign the FS3 to an effect (reverb in this case) I can select the effect in the FS selector of the patch but it doesn't change from tuner/tap to the actual selected effect in the actual foot witch. Is there something I need to do in the main settings to activate/deactivate this and get rid of the default FS3 setting? thanks in advance

    Hd500x service

Greetings! Happy new year! My sweet Hd500x has several problems: The 4th rotator (under the LCD screen), the tap, up and down and and the fs5 footswitches are almost dead. I live in Greece and Line6 lists only a shop 600km far.. 1. Any good diy guides to repair.. or 2. e-shop in Europe to find Heavy duty replacement buttons and knobs or maybe the footswitch pcb 3. Should I try using compressed air or liquid cleaner, above or below the surface? 3. any other suggestions would be welcome
  8. Does anyone else have the issue of glitchy unreliable footswitches on the Helix? I've had two units The first had 4 unreliable foot switches after a month of use at home.. And after 6 months or so the joystick failed totally so the store got me a new unit. That one now has 2 unreliable footswitches... problably more to come. I'm really taking good care of the unit, so I'm left to think there is a general quality issue with these footswitches. However Line6 Support tells me otherwise: Hi there, sorry for the trouble with your Helix. The defective switch needs to be replaced by our service center. Therefore please contact your Line 6 reseller from where you've purchased the unit - or alternatively you have the option to contact our Danish service center directly: Highend Skjulhöjalle 57 Vanløse, 2720 +4538711114 info@highendmusik.dk We haven't received many requests regarding footswitch failures and the repair should solve the issue. Nonetheless I will pass along this information to the product teams, so they can look into it. Best regards xxxxx Technical Support Line 6 Support Europe And I don't really want to pay for repairs of a lollipop quality component, in an otherwise nice product.. Am I really one of few having this issue?
  9. I have an old POD XT which I bought I think in 2004 and I recently started using it again since I added all the amp models and stomp boxes etc available back in the day and it just sounds awesome. Now I'm in need of a simple footswitch that lets me change programs. I found a great compatibility list of footswitches for the POD XT's but it only tells me which ones don't work but not which one does work with an old POD XT. My POD XT is the one that says "PEDAL" on the back and not "FBV PEDAL" so the newer footswitches won't work. Any suggestions what would work with my old POD XT in order to change programs? Thanks!
  10. I've got a Line 6 Spider V 240HC with the matching 412 cab, and an FBV Express MKII foot controller. Im trying to figure out how to save certain amps to certain Letter Pedals. Like save cowboys from hell to a (or whichever) and save something clean, like acoustic rhythm, to another letter pedal, like b (or whichever) to where when im playing a show, i dont have to go back to my amp and switch from heavy to clean, especially when its quick changes in songs that cant be dragged out. Help is very much appreciated.
  11. Quick question: will looper work on HD PRO X with EXPRESS MKII footswitch? The manual for POD says that only shortboard or longboard enable looper mode, but perhaps it's not up to date? Regards
  12. Yo ! I recently bought Pod X3, the red bean version and I've been wondering if I can attach ANY footswitch or do I have to use Line 6 FBV ? Thanks from advance :3
  13. Is there a way of turning off the tap tempo function? I have all my presets setup with a fixed tempo and I don't want to inadvertently change it by a clumsy stomp when using the tuner or whatever.
  14. Hi, I have this weird foot switch problem - My stomps are set to show 4 patches at the top row and 4 snapshots at the bottom row. Every stop on footswitch 4 in the top row always switches to the assigned patch. In Stomp Footswitch Mode I usually assign the delay to foot switch number 4. Very often when I stomp footswitch 4 to activate to bypass the delay it does not work or switch momentarily until I lift my foot off. I have to stomp it several time to take effect and sometimes in does work in the first try. Again - this happens only in Stomp Footswitch Mode. Is it a faulty switch? Whats going on here? Thanks Ori
  15. Device: POD HD500X Hi all, hopefully you can help me out. I've recently picked the guitar back up and when I started to use my effects board I found that the foot switches are not performing the correct operations My current foot switch operation mode is ABCD. When i have been pressing down onto FS8 to change patch, it seems to be turning on and off effects instead. after plugging into the edit program on my pc i have seen that FS8 is activating effects placed on FS4. FS4 does not perform any opperations at all. Does the button on FS4 need to be replaced to fix this, or both bottons? Thanks.
  16. Hey guys! I am looking to buy a Line 6 Spyder amp, but do not know what footswitch to buy along with it. Could someone send me a link for the correct footswitch for the 60 watt one?
  17. Here are the controls for Spider IV amps (75,120,150, HD150) when using the FBV 3 foot controller. FS1: Boost on/off FS2: FX1 (Gain, Auto, Pitch) FS3: FX2 (Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo) FS4: FX3 (Delay, Tape Echo, Sweep Echo) FS5: Reverb on/off Function: turns on looper mode. Tap button: will start and stop the recording, overdubs, playback within looper mode. NOTE: FBV3 will not work as a computer editing interface for Spider IV amps. FBV Express MKII and FBV Shortboard MKII pedals will work for editing. When using the FBV3 with your Spider IV, make sure you have the latest flash memory (v1.02) installed for your FBV controller. You'll find the Line 6 Updater located here: http://line6.com/software/ Download and install Line 6 Updater, then connect your controller to your Mac or PC with a standard USB cable. Line 6 Updater will ask you to login, and then run the latest update for the controller.
  18. Hey There! Love love love my Helix. However, I noticed a feature that I REALLY need regarding the Midi CC Command for footswitches. There is no Dim Value for these which is problematic. I'm trying to control my Boss RC-505 looper through Midi and it works great EXCEPT it will only fire the the first time. Any subsequent commands are permenentaly stuck at whatever MIDI value I sent it rather than going back to zero so it can reset for the next command firing. If I can get a DIM value, like on the Midi Toggle but for the Momentary MIDI CC command that would really make my rig a dream come true. I figure that'd be an easy thing to add in a future update but I could be wrong. What are the chances of that happening?
  19. Is it possible to plug in a Digitech MC7 midi footswitch into the midi in of the pod hd to control it? For example, I need to change presets quickly on stage and I've had this footswitch laying around. I have searched for hours on the subject and there is very little information regarding it... Thanks for any help.
  20. Just ordered my Helix Floor unit. I'm running a Fender Mustang GT100 amp with the MGT-4 4-button footswitch unit to change amp settings and presets. The cable is just a basic instrument line in but I've been unable to locate any documentation on what control signals it puts out. My idea is to program a preset on the Helix that lets me replicate the functionality of that switch unit so as to eliminate the need for an extra board. I've searched these forums for related info but come up short; ditto for general googling. Does anyone have some insight (and/or links) to share on how I might be able to pull this off? Many thanks in advance!
  21. Hello all, I have a Lowdown 750. I use the two button, cat 5 switch, but get confused where I am on the four presets. I don't want to use the fbv express as it's bulky. What can I use that is simple, and four individual buttons, preferably with lights? Must have cat 5. thanks!
  22. Still rather new to the Helix and coming at this from my experiences using an AX8, which I've had longer and I am more familiar with. I'm comparing the two to decide which to keep, but that's a thread for a different day. So my questions. 1) I've gathered that the footswitch layouts are limited to a set of predefined options, which is kind of a bummer for me. The closest to what I want is the snap/stomp option. However, what if a preset only has 2-3 snapshots as is often the case for mine? The 3rd/4th snapshot is still displayed and its footswitch still "active" even through the snapshot isn't set up. Is there any way to disable or reassign these unused snapshot footswitches? 2) With the AX8 I use what's called Control Switches as a sort of lead boost that can be activated on any scene (the AX8 equivalent of snapshots). On the Helix I think it's pretty similar with the Controller Assignment but haven't worked it all out yet. On the AX8 I set a footswitch to control/adjust multiple blocks and various parameters across blocks. Typically I engage an EQ block, add a little dB boost, and also bump the input gain on the amp. I haven't tried yet but I'm assuming I can do the same on the Helix, engage a block and adjust a couple parameters all with a single footswitch and one that will be available across all snapshots in a preset? Number 1 is still a bit of a shortcoming, at least with how I set up my presets. Now if only they Helix would allow full flexibility in footswitch assignments similar to the AX8, that would be a very nice feature add.
  23. My M9's record footswitch seems to have a habit of turning itself on. Whether I'm activating another pedal or turning on a separate preset, it would just start recording a new loop or turn on the reverb I have set to it. It's quite annoying and I can't use it anymore. I've tried looking at the footswitches inside, and one of the springs was a little weird. I switch the little screws that pushes and activates the switch for the record and stop switches, and the problem was moved to the stop switch. I decided to temporarily switch the bad screw/spring to the tap tempo so I can still use it as a looper, but the problem came back to the record after 10 minutes of playing! I also found that the footswitch itself doesn't click like the others do when you press it. Anyone have any ideas?
  24. Hello, So I acquired an HD500 through a trade. It has been a little work as I discovered I was given the wrong power supply for the unit and it would overheat and restart mid-gig. I purchased the correct one and everything has been great. Every once in a while my FS3 freezes up but seems to work after a few minutes. Sometimes it works immediately. I took the pedal apart and blew some dust out and it hasn't really given me any issues. All has been well EXCEPT today=( I booted up my HD500 and the entire bottom row of footswitches were not working at all. I immediately thought that it sounded like a software issue or the ribbon connecting the bottom portion was disconnected or something. So, I took it apart again and everything seemed fine. The strange thing? I reassembled the board and googled for about 10 additional minutes. I plugged it back in and the switches work perfectly. The firmware is up to date and I just want to know: Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what the hell is happening? How can I rectify this and avoid this issue in the future? I appreciate any comments ahead of time. Thanks guys, Beau
  25. Interestingly, I was building brand new Presets from scratch. I figured it was time for a new sound journey. Situation now occurring; 1) Setup patch with multiple FX blocks assigned to on footswitch in latch mode 2) Activate group by stomping on footswitch and the foot switch ring is lit 3) De-activate group, footswitch ring is not lit, but every block icon assigned is now still showing as active even though they are not 4) At this point no FX blocks show the proper state even though every FX block is working in the PA system as I play I checked every Pre-set and though it was a problem with the song list so I use a different song list and now same problem. So I use the trusty FS10+FS11 and no change. FS9+FS10 - rebuild and still problem. Thoughts? Dennis
