  1. I've been the owner of the TonePort UX2 since its release [I actually have two, just in case one ever fails] As Gear Box was not supported on anything newer than Mojave, that's what I'm still on, with my maxed-out cheesegrater Mac Pro 5,1 [& a similarly-equipped MBP]. Because I've been stuck for so long in this time capsule, i haven't investigated new moves in the driver/software world, until today I spotted the new Line 6 Central, and then the fact that we have drivers even for newer Apple silicon Macs. I don't see anything that would enable Gear Box, though. I presume Central is the new Monkey, acting as a license handler, but does it have additional functionality? I haven't seen any pictures of the interface yet & can't find a manual [because yes, I can rtfm if I can find one ;). Is this correct, and is there anything that will actually enable the UX2 guitar/mic amps, plus give access to editing - because, of course, they don't enable until you launch Gear Box ordinarily. I have an M1 iMac on Ventura I could test this out on - but it's set up a long way from my studio & would be a fair bit of hassle only to find I don't have this essential bit of functionality.
  2. Hello, Long story short, I used to play guitar few years before and I remember using GearBox with a TonePort UX1. I don't have it anymore, but I remember how good was GearBox Preset and how it could be possible to modify. I tried Amplitube 5 but it's so expensive and too many features are locked. Do you guy have alternative from Line6 to GearBox ? And Also an Alternative to TonePort UX1 ? Thank you so much !
  3. Ola preciso baixa o gearbox porem aparece o seguinte erro no site. " At this time, there is no software available that matches your selection."
  4. Good afternoon! I am the proud owner of POD X3 Live, but the GearBox drivers don't work on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. what should I do? Yours sincerely, Fedor.
  5. I have a TonePort UX-1 that I've used for years with Ableton Live. The software was Gearbox. I recently tried to set up my system and realized that Gearbox is discontinued. Is there another free alternative that will work with the UX-1?
  6. Installing Gearbox for POD X3 on OS X 10.12.6 Sierra This process works with the POD X3, I cannot confirm that it will work with any other POD of any other operating system other than OS X 10.12.6, Sierra, although it may. Download: Gearbox 3.72 for OS X from Line 6 Downloads: Select: All Hardware | GearBox | All OS - 1. Run the Line Monkey 1.78 App and insure that your software is up to date, particularly “Flash Memory 2.00” 2. Perform a typical install of Gearbox 3.7.2 3. Navigate to /System/Library/Extensions and remove, rename or relocate the “Line6Audio.kext” file. 4. Replace it with the "Line6AudioSigned.kext" file (Linked Below), or extract the file yourself from the Drivers 7.6.8 download. Select: POD X3 | All Software | All OS - Line6AudioSigned.kext.zip Please share your results, so others might benefit from your experience.
  7. Hi trying to install latest gearbox to my mac which is running Mojave but does not appear to be compatible? any workarounds for this...
  8. Hi guys, I updated my Pod X3 Pro for these days and now show on screen that GearBox is not allow anymore, anybody knows which software may I edit the Pod X3 Pro by the computer? I`m using Mac... Thanks,
  9. A jolly good day day to anyone who may read this. Been making demos with my UX1 and an electroacoustic guitar for quite some time using GearBox. Now that I happened to start using a Mac, I just cannot fathom an alternative that would have acoustic amps (can be something reaaaaally basic). YES, I tried googling and since this has to be quite a popular thing, I must be doing it in a wrong way, for the last two days yielded literally no results for me. Sincerely yours, Steve
  10. Hi ANY help would be greatly appreciated as Im at the pinnacle of FRUSTRATION!!!!! I have a new (old) iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) Sierra OS 10 12 6 trying to sync up gear box to access tones on my POD X 3 Live tried individually opening the gearbox DMG- seemingly all is well until I launch GEarbox app I get messages such as, incompatible driver, ignoring pod x 3 live this device has an incompatible driver installed and the like in the line6 monkey app it says everything is up to date - the drivers, the flashware etc ... also got this "error opening midi ports code 80000005 unimplemented function called - " and there are NO MIDI devices in !!! Is anybody else having this problem ? is there a solution? I really love my x 3 live but losing hope on it now and thinking about using it as a boat anchor! Please help if you can Thx so much BE blessed Joe
  11. Finally installed gearbox on High Sierra... And it's working 100% Here's what I did. Download Gearbox 3.72 DMG Double click on the DMG package VIEW PACKAGE CONTENTS by: Right clicking on the Package Icon Left clicking 'View Package Contents' Double Click on Contents Double Click on Packages FOR EACH PACKAGE: Right Click the package and Select open. This will run the installer for the individual package Some packages may not install properly, but don't worry... NOW CHECK THAT EACH PACKAGE INSTALLED CORRECTLY For each Package: Right Click and view package contents (see above) Navigate to the folder /Content/Resources/english.lprog/ Double click on the file the ends with .info This should open as a text file. In the text file will be information about where the contents of the package were supposed to be installed. Make a note of the location Navigate to the folder /Content/Resources/ and double click on the .gz file Copy the extracted file Navigate to the target location you made a note of above If the file isn't there, paste it to that location Reboot the machine Open Monkey, and get and the latest driver. After you install the latest driver, make sure Monkey can see your POD. Open System Preferences: Under Security and Privacy General tab, if there is an exception for the line 6 package, click to allow it Make sure the Line 6 Audio Midi Tab is also there Now you should be good to go... The biggest problem I had initially was Gearbox saying that the driver for the X3 was incompatible or something like that... It turns out that the Gearbox uses 2 drivers... The first is the MIDI driver, which its happy to use the latest and greatest downloaded via Monkey. The second is the Audio Driver... The Audio driver was one of the things that didn't install properly when I installed each package... Someone else may want to make a more concise set of instructions... I spent a while messing with this... The really neat thing though are the .info files because they tell you what is supposed to be installed and where. Oh and if you can't see the Library folder(s) you may need to right click in finder and tell it to let you see it... Or you might have to do something at the Command Prompt... I am pretty sure I enables all of that on my MAC way back, and I can't remember exactly how you do it.

  14. Hi, I have not used my UX2 for a while and the Gearbox software does not work any more. I run a Macbook Pro with macOS Sierra 10.12.6. Does Pod Farm replace Gearbox? Can I use Pod Farm to play backing tracks and does it have the half speed feature like Gearbox. I'm afraid I'm not very savvy about this stuff. I looked for the latest version of Gearbox and it was from back in 2010. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
  15. HI, I have a POD X3 (Bean not live) and cannot install gearbox on my MacBook Pro (mid 2009) with OS X El Capitan. The POD is working ok with Pod farm and the Monkey recognize the unit ok... When I try to install gearbox all goes fine until the gearbox tells me that there is no valid drive. I can see from the Gearbox installation pop-up window my C drive with a exclamation mark (!) on it. Is POD X3 product still being supported by LIne6? Thanks.
  16. Hey guys, So I was having the problem of installing gearbox on my new macbook pro 2012 on MacOS Sierra. Unfortunately I didn't find much of a solution here but I figured it out and I thought I'd share my solution. My Toneport GX now works with my mac and audio seems to work fine. Installing gearbox So if you run the master installer (.mpkg) you'll quickly see that you can't choose your hard drive because it's not OS X, but MacOS. Instead you can right click on the .mpkg file when you first open the installer and click on "Show Package Contents". Then go to Contents > Packages. Now you'll see the directory containing the individual packages. Be sure to click keep after running each package when it prompts you to move the .dmg to the trash. Install all of the packages except for the Driver Uninstaller. I don't know if the order you do this in matters but I just went for drivers, driver prefs, gearbox, plugins, line6 monkey then frameworks. You will likely have to keep security settings open to authorise running each individual package but it's a small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. after you've installed the packages test to see if GearBox is working. Installing Drivers Go to the software download page and select your_device_name > Drivers > Mac OS X and download the driver. I didn't have any issues installing this one the typical way of just running the package. After installing the driver everything worked like a charm when I opened GearBox. Note The only shortcoming I noticed was that every time I open GearBox it gives me the first-time prompts even when I hit "Never show this again" and it opens up the documentation but I don't lose my custom tones or anything.
  17. Hi all. I'm new to these forums and have a very frustrating issue... I play Bass guitar I use it a simple GX interface for headphone jamming/learning to my favorite songs in private while the wife sleeps etc... I have GearBox, PodFarm2, Monkey and was running a UX-1 and am now running a GX interface. Something happened when I went to the newest downloads from GearBox, Toneport and Monkey. Now my volume is extremely low, (like tuning mode) and I cannot figure out how to get it higher. I also lost all my user-made tones. My previous UX-1 would cut out to 1/2 vol when turned all the way to 10, so backing off to 8 somehow boosted it and gave me the most volume. Still very low. Thought there was a problem so I bought a simple GX and the SAME THING is happening. :( Can anyone help? I'm chained with a Gate, Vol pedal, and compression. That's it! What the heck is going on? Thanks!
  18. HI, There is some way to install the GEARBOX in the Sierra macOS, since in the site the last update does not contemplate the Sierra! Thanks. Nicastro.
  19. Hi, I have been using my old ux-1 to record with my windows notebook using Reason software but recently have been checking out apple garageband v10.1.3 and wanted to try recording my guitar using the ux-1 but with no luck. I have successfully downloaded and installed line6 monkey and gearbox (not sure I need it?) onto my macbook, and the monkey says my ux1 is all updated, but I still cannot get any sound with garageband, whether or not I turn on gearbox. My guitar is plugged into the ux1 and I am listening with headphones in the phones jack on the ux1 and I have selected in garageband preferences>audio the ux1 as both input and output and all other possible combinations yet cannot get any sound when I play the guitar. I also cannot get any sound just using the gearbox with my macbook. Garageband is not launched, but the gearbox is, and the ux1 is plugged in, but I cannot hear myself play guitar, again using headphones. This works with my windows notebook. Any ideas?
  20. Picked up an Alesis forge electronic drum kit and I am attempting to use the 2 line outputs (R / L) on the drum set module to connect to the two line inputs on the Toneport UX2 to record into Ableton LE 6 - I believe the issue I am having lies within the settings I am using in Gearbox - looking for some suggestions. When I connect the line outputs from the drum set to the line inputs on the UX2, I can hear everything I want to hear through my monitors and headphones (both directly connected to the UX2), when I have my input in gearbox set to "Line 1 & 2" - but I get no signal on my armed track in Ableton. When I change the gearbox input setting to a single line input (not sure if it's 1 or 2), I do get a signal in Ableton, but it's only on the right or left side - it's not stereo. I want to say that I have tried the "line stereo" input setting in gearbox as well - and I believe it works, but it gives me a completely mono signal which doesnt make sense to me. Wondering if there is step I am missing when trying to use the "line 1 and 2" input setting in gearbox that is stopping Ableton from picking up a signal. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!
  21. Hi. My Toneport ux2 won't connect to gearbox on my mac... Is this simply because LIne6 haven't released the macOS Sierra version of Gearbox? If so does anyone know when this will be released? Cheers
  22. I have An Apple MacBook Pro i7, running El Captain 10.11.6. I recently upgraded to El Captain and did not have any issues using GearBox with Yosemite. If I launch GearBox without my TonePort UX2 plugged into the USB, GearBox will start up just fine but when I plug the USB in for my UX2 I get the pinwheel of death. If I launch GearBox and have my UX2 plugged in before i launch, it gets stuck on "Initializing DSP" I downloaded POD Farm 2 and it woks but only in a trial capacity as I have not purchased the program, but it does works with Garageband. I can launch Garage Band and use my TonePort and the effects Garage Band has pre installed. All my drivers are up to date according to Monkey. It all seems to revolve around GearBox. Any known solutions to this?
  23. Like its predecessors, Windows 10 has a compatibility mode to allow users to run older programs written back when previous versions of Windows were the newest operating system. Right click on the app. Select "Properties". Click the Compatibility tab. Under the banner, a check box will appear next to the text "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" with the options in a drop down menu. The various Windows operating systems will appear, depending on the app. A more involved option is to install a virtual version of the old operating system of your choice ("virtual machine" or "VM") on your computer. This is different than dual-booting a computer, where the user divides/partitions the space on a single hard drive and installs a different operating system on each section, allowing the user to choose which OS is booted when the computer is powered on. The advantage with VM is the ability to run a program in the operating system that it was designed for in the first place. Windows 10 is compatible with Microsoft Virtual PC, a virtualization software that allows Windows users to run multiple versions of Windows, all the way back to Windows XP. This is a free download from the Microsoft Download Center. Microsoft provided a free copy of Windows XP to run in Windows 7 Pro. Pro versions of Windows 8.1 include Hyper-V to host alternative operating systems. Otherwise, Oracle's (formerly Sun's) VirtualBox and VMWare are some of the more common options available and are accessible for Windows, Mac and Linux users. Mac users can also use Boot Camp and Parallels to access alternate OS versions.
  24. Hi I have a podxt which I bought second hand, I had no software packed with it. I installed monkey and now its connected and monkey can see the podxt. Trouble is I want to apply some presets of l6t format to my pod but I cannot get gearbox from anywhere on the web. Can someone either give an alternative for this extremely (supposedly) simple task of copying files to the device? Or even better.. Pass me the installer for gearbox on a windows machine. I am planning to get into the whole line 6 way of doing things and upgrade to H500x very soon having used oldschool pedals all my life but I am struggling even with this most basic tasks :/ so it's not very encouraging cheers
  25. Hi friends, since a number of years i am owning the Line 6 expression pedal (ex-1), that i want to connect to my KB37. As i remember i got it working one or two times with Gear Box (WahWah) but not in Pod Farm. After several restarts and maybe OS Upgrades (i started under XP, now we have WIndows 10), i cannot get it to work anymore. I have upgraded to the newest Drivers and Firmware using Line 6 Monkey. Has someone the same problem or can give me some hints? I attached the configuration as screenshot below. Is there a way to test whether it is possible to generally capture input signals from this LINE 6 Pedal? I have used the tool "Midi-OX" to check if midi messages can be captured and it looks like that it works (but not in Pod Farm). I've just found a post by myself from the year 2010 in this forum, where i was asking if the expression pedal feature has already been implemented in Pod Farm, because during that time it only seemed to be available in Gear Box. Has it been implemented now? With best regards and nice easter weekend Bjoern
