Hey Guys! So my Band recently went full on helix lt which means we want to use the helix of our singer/rhythm guitarist for vocal fx and guitar. We have two Singers in total which both use a shure wireless mic-system. So I thought that because the wireless uses line level, we could plug the two systems into the fx returns (and a clean signal to mix with foh) and use them for vocal stuff like telephone fx or delays. Next to that, our singer two sounds in total. 1. is just a distorted sound in mono (1 Amp + IR + TS808) 2. Is the same but with the Helix double take activated. We imagine that the two XLR outs are for the mic fx and the two 6,3mm output jacks go through a stereo DI for the guitar. For direct control this is quite a simple setup right? just using the vocal fx + double take + both Mic-Inputs in Stompmode. But now the tricky part begins... Everything has to be MIDI controllable. I´ve been working with Midi for my own Helix in Snapshot mode together with the DAW Reaper but now I need help to understand how to control the stomps in Stompmode with midi. For example this scenario will occur in our setlist: Singer 1 has a telephone fx on his voice while singer 2 is muted.. Some moments later the telephone fx will be switched out with a delay and extra reverb (2 stomps) while the guitar turns on the double take . So both paths have three stomps in total which have to be switched at the exact moment. Do I have to use own midi-automation lines in reaper for every stomp in stompmode to activate and deactivate? Thanks alot for your help guys! Greetings from Germany! - Worgram

I apologize if this topic already exists in the forum. I was searching on how to set up tone/volume in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. I didn't find the answer in Forum. My Spider V 30 is connected correctly to PC via USB and there is a sound of TL in Cubase. In Cubase, I choosed ASIO Spider V driver. I/O is Speder V (L&R) - Active. ASIO buffer Size is set to: Extra Small. I can record my TL from SpiderV 30 via USB and reproduce my records, too. It is not a problem, it works. But, quality of record is desperate and not acceptable, too. The sound is dark, blurry, somehow smudged and does not match what I hear on Spider V 30 while playing & recording. E.g effect as drive is not OK and corrupts the recorded. This is especially pronounced when I strumming all the strings. When I am playing finger style in clear sound or near clear, it is a better. It seams to me that solution is to set properly the tone on all devices in the chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. Acctually to set properly the tone/volume of input signal to PC or output signal from Spider V 30 via USB. When I am playing acoustic guitar via USB Audio Interface (UAI), I can adjust Input signal at UAI and all works fine. But at Spider V 30 there is not possibility to adjust Input signal. I can adjust tone at TL guitar as imput signal to SpiderV 30, but it changes a sound of guitar at SpiderV 30. Or I can reduce/decrease Master tone of SpiderV 30, but I can not hear what I am playing. Please, give me opinion regarding this topic. How to properly set up tone of all devices in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC? What are your experiences with this?

HI! i have pod gx but i want to sell it because i now have hd400 and am able to record music with it instead. I have no problems with recording guitar, However i have a problem with trying to record bass. When recording guitar i'm using the sound that is on the processor itself. When i want to record bass i want to use tones that are stored in POD Farm instead. When i connect my hd400 to the computer and run pod farm, the sound comes from both of them - there is a dual sound - one is a guitar amp from hd400, another is the bass amp tone i need from pod farm. When i try to record, it only records the sound that comes from hd400 directly and not the sound i need from pod farm. Is it possible to somehow mute hd400 sound and listen and record the pod farm sound instead? thank you

Hello! So I am playing a show in a few weeks, and I am currently running my helix to a powered speaker for monitoring (with a flat EQ of course). I am thinking about trying to send a signal with the same tone/eq/etc to FOH just so they can crank it in their monitors more. Am I overthinking this, or can I simply run a 1/4" cable to my speaker via 1/4" OUT L output, and run another 1/4" to XLR to the FOH via the 1/4" OUT R output? I am trying it with my interface, and the exact same tone is coming through both outputs (which is what I am looking for). Thanks!

I was recording on my Pod hd pro x yesterday on my guitar(as i have countless of time before). Suddenly today it stops working. The device turns on and I can hear sound from my computer, but it won't get any signal from my guitar. Not even the tuner. I checked my guitar and the wires. I have no idea what happened or changed. I would really appreciate some direction.

Greetings everyone, I started playing guitar a while ago, mainly I play the game songs I like. But some of the tablature of them cannot be found on the internet, so I have to use my ear to distinguish the note and write them on Guitar Pro, or Tuxguitar. (2 song writing software) I am quite sure that I have write correctly for every note of a song. But the problem is, I actually didn’t have basic music knowledge? (whole note, half note, 1/4 note, 1/8 note, 4/4 beat? etc.) And I don‘t know how to find the BPM of the song... So although I have written down all the notes of one game song I like in those software, and I press play button, I can only get standard 120bpm, 4 note per bar/phrase? at the same speed. I wish to make it right, what are the things I need to know to really produce a song? I will only export it as MIDI, and open in software for my own reference when I play guitar. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys! I recently purchased a Line 6 Helix! After months of reading information online and also getting an amazing hands-on demo with a Line 6 representative in a music store close to home here in Melbourne, Australia! This unit cannot be praised enough in my opinion. I love how much color and variety its given my tone on the Dingwall and Its really refreshing seeing all of these regular firmware updates. Look forward to talking to you all over time. Best regards

Hi All, Basically what i'm after is to be able to record 3x wet signals at the same time via a suitable audio interface into my DAW. Set up consists of a pod hd 500, Yamaha digital piano & electric drum kit. The main issue i've encounted while searching for a suitable interface is the lack of line inputs. I was looking at the Focusrite 6i6 as it's in my price range, but I was unsure how i'd connect all 3 instruments? I'd planned on running the pod hd500 in to the interface via the XLR Out on the pod to the line input of the audio interface (via XLR to TRS 1/4) here is the problem... the research I've done also recommends connecting the digital piano via the same set up (R ----- L\+R out to audio interface line input) & i'd like to run the same type of connection to the electric kit... Is this as simple as me having to fork out the extra cash for a higher end audio interface, or can I run these 3 instruments via a different set up into the audio interface? I'd even be happy being able to record 2 wet signals at once. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks :)

So I know that similiar problems have been posted here in recently, but none of the fixes work for me. I recently got the POD studio UX2, and installed POD farm 2.5 on my PC, along with all the necessary drivers (line6 monkey and the hardware driver) and registration steps. Unfortunately, I am still not able to get the interface/software to pick up my guitar. I have both my recording and playback devices set to the interface, selected "instrument" on the POD farm input menu, have the UX2 selected in the hardware preferences tab, and my guitar/cable works through an amp. The interface is lit up (yellow/orange lights on), but the dials don't move at all. I also noticed that I am unable to hear any other sounds from my computer (youtube/Spotify), so I am not sure if this helps isolate the issue. At this point I have no idea what to do and am considering opening up a ticket. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks

Not sure where to post this, so please move if appropriate. I'm wondering what folks recommend for guitar cables. I just use whatever is cheap at my local store. Is there a preferred professional choice of cable? Thanks, Shawn
