  1. WHY does the harmonizer sound sooo bad? Hi Guys, so really want to know how you are making the harmonizer sound good. If you insert it 'post amp' like effects like delay ..you get stereo and two harmony and cool stuff like panning ..but damm it sounds awful... The only way I have gotten Harmony working decently is to put it in front of one of two amps (dual setup) and set the mix to 100%. I cant use the dual harmony that way unless i just only use one part harmony. Harmonizing an amp sounds really bad in my opinion and while sure i can find use for it..its not solution. How are you making it sound great?
  2. How can I create a harmony preset with the AMPLIFI 150? I can see the synth effects, but there is no harmony presest. The harmony synth is horrible. That can't tbe the only means for creating harmony. I own a POD HD500X and the harmony efffect is awesome. The AMPLIFI 150 shoudl have a harmony effect.
  3. Hi guys, i'm a new happy owner of a POD HD500x, i'm pretty happy of the sounds that i'm configuring on it, really. Now i would like to configure a Smart Harmony for the Solo section of Buried alive, that is harmonized, but I guess is changing key during the part. I would like to have a comparison with you to get sure of what i'm going to configure on the harmony and on the pedal. The chords under the solo are: Am, C, F, E So, if i don't get wrong, E is not in the key of Am, it should be an Em. So the problem is that the harmony doesn't work for the entire solo. What should I do? where and what is the key changing? I configured an Am scale with +3th and a mix of 27% on the smart harmony, but on the pedal I should change the key to what? A#m? thank you for your patience and help. Marco
  4. Hey guys, These days I am experimenting with some ambient patches and I am just trying to work with the Smart Harmony Effect and create something usable our of it, but I just can't. I don't even know what its parameters do and I can't find any instructions on the internet as well. Could anyone shed some light upon this Smart Harmony Effect? I was thinking about using it for ambient patches, like I said. Thanks!
  5. Has anybody discovered a clever way of changing the harmonizer key for a given preset on the fly? When I'm playing live and the patch I'm using has the harmonizer set to Em but we're playing a song in F minor, how can I change the Harmonizer setting without going into the edit menu? It would suck to have to create like 8 identical patches with a different harmony key for each patch just to accomplish this. Anybody find a better way?
  6. 1st post! Up to now I've managed to survive via the forums and patch downloads for my new HD500X. I play in a 3-piece rock covers band (UK) and have found my new toy (3 months old now) to be certainly up for it when it comes to delivering the sound required to make a small band sound big! I currently run the POD into 2 amps (left to a Marshall, right to a Trace Elliot) to help spread the sound - will be working on the setup through the PA soon but until then this will do. I have downloaded quite a few patches but as yet have not found one that gives that dual-guitar sound with a harmony (octave) so that I can get that Thin Lizzy sound during certain parts of the song. To me, a lot of stuff either sounds really bad OR starts good but then goes squiffy! (maybe I haven't found the right one yet). I have also tried messing about with the patches and settings, and also trying to make my own work but just cannae get it right, captain! Maybe adding more than one harmoniser into a chain would help? If anyone could point me in the direction of some good patches they've found or created, OR even give me a few pointers for creating that harmonised sound I'd appreciate it. Having forked out for this good bit of kit I really don't want to go out and buy an actual harmony pedal. Thanks for any input.
