  1. I have an FBV3 pedalboard connected to a HD PRO X effects processor. I see that individual FXs are assigned to different FS footswitches, depending on the particular preset. Put another way, depending on which preset is being used, different footswitches have to be stomped to turn on / off or control for example the distortion effect. I would rather have a global FS assignment across all presets, that for example could say that the Distortion effect is ALWAYS controlled by for example footswitch FS4. That way I could label the FBV3 footswitches with the FX effects each switch would always control - seems reasonable and a lot easier in a live situation. Is this possible? Am I missing something here?
  2. Pod HD300/HD400 Factory Reset: Hold down the A footswitch while powering the unit on. Press the PRESETS knob, then press it again. Video Tutorial No Global Settings reset Pod HD/HD500/HD500x/HD Pro/HD ProX Global Settings Reset: Run Line 6 Monkey with the HD500X connected via USB. Highlight FLASH MEMORY and click REINSTALL LATEST (or INSTALL LATEST if Monkey shows that you are running older firmware). Make sure to back up all of your presets and setlists beforehand using the HD Edit software. Factory Reset: You must reinstall the firmware, when Monkey prompts you if you want to keep your existing presets, hit no. Video Tutorial Safe/Pedal Calibration Mode: Hold down the right arrow on the navigation button while powering the unit.
  3. Hey all, first post here, hopefully I am in the right forum for this question. Can anyone here confirm if the amp models in the plugin POD Farm Platinum are the same as the ones that could be found in the POD HD500X or POD HD PRO X with the add-on model packs? Trying to figure out if the plugin or the hardware is the more reasonable purchase for myself. Thanks!
  4. Hi, so I've just started using the Torpedo Wall Of Sound VST as the cab sims in the Pro X just weren't doing it for me for home recording - besides the WoS. Just after a little help on how to get the best out of this please, running with the Pod as the interface in USB mode. 1) Am I right in thinking use the "Pre" versions is the way to go or is that subjective? 2) Even with the cabs off on the Pod, it still seems to be coloured by the mic selection - is there a way around this? 3) I'm currently in studio/direct mode, would another mode be better suited for this? 4) Any general observations when using VST cab impulses with the HD Pro X / similar line 6 products?

    POD HD series and FBV3

Although the FBV 3 is fully compatible with the POD HD, POD HD Pro, and POD HD Pro X, the footswitch labels do not line up with the corresponding functions as compared to the FBV Shortboard MKII. The FBV 3 has been redesigned and it no longer has a Function 2 footswitch. What previously was assigned to the Function 2 switch on the Shortboard MKII is now done with FS 1 (Set List Select Mode On/Off) on the FBV3. The footswitches that were labeled Stomp, Modulation, Delay, and Reverb from the Shortboard are now FS 2 - FS 5 on the FBV3. Function 1 (Looper Mode On/Off) remains the same between both pedals. Also, when assigning stompboxes to footswitches, the POD will not correlate to the FBV 3, it will be off by one. So FS 1 on the Pod corresponds with FS 2 on the FBV3, and FS 2 on the POD is now FS 3, etc. See the figure below for an example.
  6. Hey everyone! New Line 6 owner here. Later this week I'm going to be doing a trial run where I use my HD Pro X live to a PA system and then run the dry-out signal into my conventional amp for on-stage volume. Does anyone know if the Dry Out is an isolated output in the sense that it can prevent ground loops from occurring via an isolation transformer (or similar)? I don't want to drag all the gear out only to find that linking the Line 6 to a real amp could cause a ground loop and some nasty sounds because of it. Thanks! :)
  7. I picked up a POD HD Pro X for sure in my home studio and have it connected to my TASCAM US-1800 interface via the unbalanced outputs on the back of the POD. I'm curious whether it would be better to use the balanced outputs instead? I read in the manual that the unbalanced outputs will sum to mono when using only one of them, but the balanced outputs will not. I typically record guitar in mono so I'm wondering if switching to the balanced outputs will mean that I can no longer use both left and right coming from the POD? Are there any other advantages/disadvantages of using balanced vs. unbalanced outputs to connect to an interface? Thanks in advance.
  8. I have seen some posts on the dry out and re-amping with the HD Pro. My goal is to save on studio time and do the DI's at home so we can reamp at the studio later. Has anyone compared the dry out vs. a DI or Reamp box? Are the recordings you get from the dry out as good, better, or worse than if I was to grab a reamp box? Thanks
  9. I purchased my first Line6 POD just a few months ago. Since that time I have found a number of really good amp models and have posted some of them to the CustomTone site (SteveKudlacek). Admittedly, I am new to the modeling game, but I am fascinated with the ability to build all of the amps that I could never afford to own. Some of the models are really accurate. My fascination continues... But because there is really no ranking system - number of downloads does not equal satisfaction - I wanted to know what are some of your favorites? If you have a favorite CustomTone, for the HD Pro or Pro X only please, reply with a link here. Also, if you have downloaded some of my patches any constructive criticism here would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve.
  10. I'v bought a new interface (Focusrite Scarlett 18i8) and i'm using this along side my HD Pro X. With my old interface i was able to reamp DI signals by sending via an line out output, however the 18i8 only has 2 of these outputs, which are used by my monitors. I now have to send the signals via SPDIF between the Focusrite and HD Pro X but i can't figure it out. How do i use the SPDIF input and output on the HD Pro X?
  11. NOTE: HD model packs are not compatible with POD Farm 2.5. Only standard model packs can be used with a Line 6 device and/or a computer authorized with POD Farm 2.5 or better. This is a step by step guide on using the Line 6 License Manager to install Model Packs on the POD HD500X and HD Pro X. If you have Line 6 Monkey installed, then you have Line 6 License Manager. There are a few things to check before we get started: Make sure you have the latest version of Line 6 Monkey installed. If you don't you can find it here: http://line6.com/software/ Line 6 License Manager comes in the Line 6 Monkey installer. Before you Begin: Connect your POD via USB, open Line 6 Monkey and make sure the latest drivers are installed. Next, the Flash Memory version on your POD must be version 2.60 or higher: And the firmware must be updated to version 1.04 or higher. Step by Step in Line 6 License Manager: After your POD is updated it's time to run the License Manager. You can access it in the Start Menu on Windows or in C:\Program Files(x86)\Line6\Tools on a Mac it's in the Applications\Line 6 Folder in Finder. When License Manager opens it looks like this: Click the Login Button and type your username and password for Line6.com: Once you are logged in, you will see your computer and the POD: Authorize your computer first: Then highlight the POD: And authorize again: Next, the POD will indicate that there are add-ons that need to be installed: Click the install button to program your model packs on the POD: The POD will tell you to Power Cycle. Unplug the power for 5 seconds and plug it back in. Now you can Check the hardware for your new amp models buy putting your cursor over the amp icon in a patch and using the first knob under the LCD screen to search: Enjoy your new amp models! About Amp Models: Here is a Full list of Amp models in the Fully Loaded Bundle: http://store.line6.com/software/hd-model-packs/hd-fully-loaded-bundle.html You can learn more about individual model packs here: http://store.line6.com/software/hd-model-packs.html Keep in Mind that the new amp models will "allude" to the amp they are modeling like all of our Line 6 models. Example: VOX® AC30 (Fawn Bright Ch.) = A30 FAWN BRT on the hardware. NOTE: HD model packs are not compatible with POD Farm 2.5. Only standard model packs can be used with a Line 6 device and/or a computer authorized with POD Farm 2.5 or better.
  12. Okay this is a long story, i am a guitarist, but i am needed to play bass in a band also i was wondering if with the hd pro x i could get some nice crunchy bass tones? I do not own this product yet but i intend on buying it. I am not even sure if the bass will work on the hd pro x Please help..
  13. I have a G90 and HD Pro X. There is no guitar in on the back of the Pro X, only on the front panel. The G90 only has guitar out in the back panel. Would you use one of the line in on the Pro X? If so L or R.
  14. New video I just did of Neil Zaza's song In My Dreams. The lead guitar is only the patch I created direct to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. You can download the tone here: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/608051/ The backing track and tab were purchased at www.neilzaza.com.
  15. hello all, I really like my current rig, comprising of Ibanez 321ex with BKP Blackhawks -> Line6 POD X3 live -> Matrix gt800fx -> Blackstar 412 with Celestions V30. It is very versatile, i can change sounds very fast, it has a nice ballsy punch and the x3 live lets me have a home recording device plus floorboard with expression pedal at hand. Also, the dual tone option of the X3 Live is something i really love, and the cab responds awesomely well, specially in stereo mode. However, since I'm upgrading my guitar to a of custom Hapas 7string guitar (set of BKP Juggs), i am thinking in selling my Ibby to finance some possible alterations to my rig. Not sure if it's important, i play prog death, so mostly high distortion, but also some clean and acoustic parts too. One option is to add a rack preamp to the rig, and I've been thinking of a 2nd handed HD Pro or Pro X (an AxeFx is too expensive and i don't think it is worth the extra cost). The idea would be to have the following rack: Hapas custom 7string with BKP Juggs -> Line6 POD X3 live -> (possible wireless system) -> Line6 POD HD Pro (X?) -> Matrix gt800fx -> Blackstar 412 I don't want to lose the versatility and the expression pedal i have with my current rig, and i am not insanely looking into make my sound perfect and flawless. But, with the money available, if i can get a better sound for a small investment whistle keeping the best Can i use the X3 for soundbank changing as well as expression pedal with the HD Pro? Would I be getting a noticeably better tone with this change? How much hassle should i expect out of this? thank you for your comments in advance!
  16. I am glad to have a new HD pro X in the end of this year, it sounds perfectly! However, I observe a problem that when the volume of amp models are set above 50% (my setting around 38% to 53%) or applying some EQ effect processing, there often comes some buzz or Ribbing noise sound. I use digital output (for 0 dB) and set to 96kHz, but the buzz sound are also occurred from the headphone output. Does anybody has this problem? any solution for this? Thank you so much. :)
  17. Hi My Name is Don I'm a Line6aholic Help Me, I'm addicted to Line 6 and the buy it now button at American musical and zzounds.com and it doesn't help that they both offer the payment plan that makes it even worse. It all started way back with the first flextone, I fell in love with it. I thought it was the best amp I ever played out of. Then I moved on to the flextone 3 and thought I would never buy another amp again. But of course Line 6 had to put out the DT50. So what did I do? you guessed it... Then I had to get the HD500 oh and don't forget the JTV69s to complete my dream rig. Now you would think I would stop there but noooo... I bought the Relay g30 wireless for all my other guitars, "don't get me started there"... well now that I had the dream rig I figured what the hell I need a new PA so what did I do buy it now, buy it now, and of course buy it now. Had to get the L3T just to see if that would work for my dream rig plus vocals and acoustic but is one enough? Two is always better. You know where it goes from here the Stagescape M20d now I have the dream stage although I haven't sprung for the subwoofers yet , crap why did I bring that up... Now my new addition is the HD Pro X. Now it's like I'm waiting with bated breath to get the next email from Line 6 telling me about the next addition to my Line 6 inventory. I do love Line 6 and it never lets me down, it gets better and better all the time... Thanks Line 6
  18. OK, so I've put aside my Vetta II and un-packed my new Pro X and L2m speaker. I hook them up with L6 link and put the L2m into 'Electric guitar' mode (funny, I thought the system was supposed to do that automatically). The trouble is, the Master Volume control on the Pro X does not affect the volume of what comes out of the L2m so the only way to adjust the volume is to reach round the back of the L2m and tweek the control there which is not so easy when it's in wedge config. I've hunted for a setup entry to change this behavior but I can't find anything. Have I missed it?
  19. Q: Why do presets I built from scratch sound different than similar factory presets? A: When creating new presets from scratch and comparing the tone to an existing factory preset with the same settings, please remember to check the mixer settings of that preset to see if they may be different than how you have it set in your own preset.? If the mixer settings of the factory preset are different than the mixer settings of another identical preset, they can both sound different than each other even though they share the same amp model and tone settings. The mixer settings are saved per preset and are NOT global.
