  1. I have a POD HD Pro and recently acquired an ADA MP-1 preamp,. I have the MP1 in the FX loop of the Pod, and it's working quite well. I just ordered a midi cable. The ADA is a Midi preamp. Is it possible to set up MIDI to change the ADA preset based on my pod patches? So pod patch 1A the ADA is on preset 1, Pod patch 1b the ADa is on preset 2, etc? Would love some tips on how to do this if possible, but i'll also take "it's possible, read the manual" if anyone knows it can be done - thanks!
  2. I just purchased a pod hd 300 and after some time there no display the rest of it is working fine with pc but no display in its screen (lcd thingy )
  3. Hi guys, I recently bought a Pod Hd Pro rack off of a friend and I'm running this through a ART SLA-1 Power amp (100watts@8ohms) and into an Avatar 8ohm cab (120 watts) with celestian V30s. I was practicing with some guys the other day, and for some reason, I have to crank the master AND channel volume all the way to the max to even hear it at a decent volume compared to everyone else(Drummer+6505 guitarist). Are there any settings I should be changing on the pod pro so that it is used for live amp use? or perhaps maybe the power amp is just not that strong?..
  4. I have a JTV-89 (korean - stoptail) running 2.0 firmware. Strung with DR Pure blues 9's. I don't play metal so this isn't the classic palm muting scenario, but I just have a habit of resting my hand across the bridge saddles when I play (pick or fingers). This results in the occasional pop and click at random when the modelling is turned on. I am not actively putting pressure on the saddles, it's just a comfortable place to rest hand that developed over years of sitting on a couch with a les paul. The further away I keep my right hand from the bridge the less it happens but it's still annoying. I have tried lowering the global string volume to -3db and -6db but neither made the problem go away. Are the piezos that sensitive to direct downward pressure? Any info would be helpful. Problem number 2: I'm a bass player. Problem number 3: I like to occasionally slap/pop on a guitar as if I would on a bass. The modeling system REALLY doesn't work with this technique. The mags work fine. Again, I suspect it is an issue of the direction of the force. All the modelling seems to pick up are the harmonics, very little fundemental and no attack. It is an interesting phenomenon to me because I have an NS CR4 electric upright wich also uses a piezo system but has a variable control for how the system deals with attack (bowed or pizz). Since guitars largely aren't designed for this sort of anything perhaps there should be no expectation that in the future this would be a consideration but I wouldn't complain as I like using bass techiques on guitar from time to time.
  5. On the parallel pitch tab does it only allow for +12 or 0? I noticed in the manual it says that it defaults to +12 kind of implying, in my mind, that you could use other values. But that doesn't seem to be the case when I try it with Workbench. What I was trying to do was figure out a way to emulate a Micro Pog with 1 octave up, 1 octave down, and regular pitch. I had in mind that I could use alt tuning to drop an octave, parallel pitch to go up 2 octaves (+24), and blend in the magnetic pickups for standard tuning. I figured it was a long shot, but worth a try. I haven't actually messed with this via the guitar, I just had the idea while I was at work and loaded up the software to see if it was theoretically possible. Any ideas on how this could be done?
  6. Hey guys, For many months I have been practicing and recording using my Pod hd500 (Firmware 2.10) and i've tried many Custom tone high gain presets like ENGL,Treadplate and more but All of them sound very harsh and dirty without any "body", the opposite of a thick and warm tone. Each preset that I downloaded from custom tone sounds very bad. Now I have just installed 2.0 (Rollback) and all those high gain tones which sounded very bad and harsh now sound excellent and very thick!.I'm a little confused, Perhaps the presets were intended to be used in the firmware 2.0?. Anyway they sound 100% different, now i am very happy! My recordings sound very good and clear! I'm in love with my pod again. The only thing that I miss the last firmware are the SOLDANO models... There is a problem with my pod? Any one of you has the same problem? What can i do? My Gear: Schecter hellraiser c1 fr ---------> Pod HD500--------> Shure Shr840 Headphones/M-audio BX8D2 Studio monitors Pod settings: -Studio/Direct. Thank you for read!
  7. I'm a french user of the Diezel Herbert, I recently bought it and doesn't have any foot controler yet. I have a rack configuration and I would like to add a multi-effect rack such as the POD HD PRO. Can you tell me if is it possible to control it with the Columbus and save different tones ? Using a simple midi cable to connect them. I ask the question because some guitarists who use the POD seem to meet some problems when they want to connect it to a midi controller which is different from a Line 6 model (FBV,etc..) Thank you very much.
  8. I tried to do this last night and it sounded really bad. I switched the XLR to the balanced mono on the Pro and the input on the L2M and it sounded a little better. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to turn off the cab sims? Do I put the DSP on the L2M to Line or Electric Guitar? Help!!!!
  9. Hello, I'm new to the POD HD 500, i have less than two weeks with him and we are really hitting off lol. I was just wondering , is there a list or something that shows how much DSP those modeler consumes in the HD 500?? I read that the Pitch, Reverb and specially HD Amp models are the ones that uses more DSP, even thought not all the amps uses the same. Therefore I think is kinda' useful to own a list or something, sorry if there's a thread already similar to this.
  10. Hi i need opinions of this PA Alto SXM112A, for the pod hd 500, is worth or not? i play in church trough mixers and line array systems so for monitoring i use a small acoustic amp, sounds good but not have the same tone of the line array. So i need opinions somebody?
  11. I've seen others complain about the new Strat/Spank position 2 & 4 ("quack") settings being not as good in 2.0, but Line 6 responded that there will be a fix for that, What about the Chime / Rickenbacker settings? I like the older ones better, these sound less authentic, both 6 and 12 string models. Anyone else feel the same? Line 6, is there going to be a further update/fix for that?
  12. I've downloaded the spank 2 preset from a message in this forum (thanks, Derek32999!), and I see the 89 high-gain guitars have been posted for 59 and 69 users. Is anyone hosting a place for Workbench HD files while we wait for Customtone to feature a Variax section?
  13. Hello :) I love the new variax HD models - I notice a difference, but wished there was some kind of video showing the difference... somehow. anyway, I have been messing around with trying to get a nirvana esque sound. Of course, fender - but the spank seems to "bell" like and the tele seems too "thick" - anyone try to approximate a jaguar or mustang sound? Maybe a spank body but PAF's? I am not totally sure, but any advice would be great.

  17. Im rewriting this post because im still having problems with my tone. I've gone through all the suggestions and nothings changed. The outputs is Studio/Direct and im using a low gain yet im still getting horrible fuzz over the top, ruining any clarity that was there. Here's a raw clip of the tone im getting: This particular clip was recorded with a cheap guitar but i have the same problem with any guitar i use! https://soundcloud.com/dan-kav/lollipop-tone If anyone can tell me why my tone is coming out at such bad quality i'd be extremely grateful!
  18. This is my first time on any forum so i have no idea what im doing so dont be patronising... I have the Pod HD Pro in my studio but it sounds terrible? I can make a nice tone that im happy with but it has a horrible fuzz, clipping/distorted sound on top of it, which is completely ruining the tone! Imagine listen to a song that would sound great as WAV or 320kbs... but is coming out sounding like 128kbs. (that horrid, weak quailty) The tone has lost all depth and clarity and its really starting to annoy me as my band are mid way through recording our EP but the more we focus on the guitar the more the bad quality stands out! Nothing is actually clipping though, like the gain on the amp is pretty low, low master volume, its not clipping in the compressor or the DAW? Seriously need help to find out whats wrong. Its been like this since i got it and im losing faith in line 6. If anyone has experienced this and overcome it please tell me how? x
  19. Hey guys, I thought I'd make this a separate post so that it's easier to find for anyone who might be having some issues. The patches for the HD500 do not import directly into the HD500X Edit software at this time. They use different file formats. There is a work-around that I posted earlier, and is being passed around now. All you have to do is change the extension on the patch files: For individual patches, change the extension from .h5e to .5xe For bundles, change the file extension from .h5b to .5xb For setlists, change the file extension from .h5s to .5xs I have found no inconsistencies among the patches from the HD500 Edit to the HD500X Edit using this method. I don't know if/when Line 6 will update the software to allow backwards compatibility, but in the mean time, you can use this method to get your 500 patches to your 500X. UPDATE: Someone else mentioned that you can drag-and-drop individual HD500 files into the tone slots in the 500X Edit software. I can confirm that this works. You will still need to change the file names for set-lists and bundles, though.
  20. So, when is it available...?
