Hi there, sorry for this beginners' question but I am trying to send a mono signal to FOH and the same signal to a tuner effects pedal. I figured that 1) the built in tuner is too slow and 2) makes a crackling noise when turning it on and off. I was going to send XLR out to FOH and line out to the tuner. My questions: Does this work or are there drawbacks? Does this make even sense or is there a better solution? Thank you very much!

My Pod HD500X recently packed up (le cry) and I had the Bass Amp Pack downloaded on it which I purchased about a year ago. I bought a NEW HD500X for teaching and because it's familiar - but I can't find a way to redownload my previous bass settings with the pack. Is this possible to transfer packs over from one HD500X to another? -
I bought a used POD HD500x a couple months ago. It turns on and I can play through it. But here's the deal: the buttons in the upper left hand corner don't respond as they should. The "view" button doesn't respond at all when I press it. When I press down the dial just above it, the set lists come up on the screen but quickly disappear in favor of the setup screen. Sometimes, I can get to the set lists and to individual sounds on those playlists. But after awhile, the same thing happens. It flips back to the setup screens and it's nearly impossible to get back to a set list. Is this a hardware problem, a software problem, or all of the above? What should I do next?

Hello. After a catastrophy (power glitch I guess), I'm stuck in a boot loop with the Line 6 screen being displayed, then flashing, then Line 6 screen again (in a loop). My POD HD500X returns a bad USB ID, so I cannot connect via USB to install firmware. The USB ID I read is USB\VID_04B4&PID_8613&REV_:001, which is the Cypress USB chip's ID. I cannot connect to restore the firmware (with monkey) because Windows does not recognize it as a HD500X. I gather this might be a case for an EEPROM or Flash reprogram. Thing is I'm a bit far from the service center. Is there any way I could get something (software) to reprogram the EEPROM or flash ? or get replacement chips ? (I gather not, but hey, it's worth a try). Otherwise, does this sound like something the service center could (easily) help with ? Additionally: all diagnostics pass (right arrow on power up) What might also help is if someone could check the IDs they get in Windows Device Manager for the HD500X (I suspect something like 0E41&PID_4159). Is there any news on the Line 6 drivers for Apple M1 series? It's been two years now that Apple released the new computers with the M1 chip, but until now no support from Line 6. An Ear deafening silence. I'm a bit afraid I need to sell my HD500X and use effects software with my DAW software.

This weekend past weekend, I was performing and I changed patches to go to the next song. This full volume loud noise happened. I have included an mp3. This has never happened before and the unit was fine the rest of the night. The sound just went away as fast as it came. Any idea what this was? Crazy sound.mp3

Is there a way to make the arrow buttons just change to the next or previous preset in the setlist? Instead of opening up the menu that shows 1A-1D.

HD500x + DT25 is the best of multi effects + modeling + Tube amp. What is the Line6 roadmap of these products ? Should we expect something new in the future ? Thank you

Hello, I am using a Pod HD500x and I use the harmonizer with the mix at max like a pitch shift to play in lower or higher tunings without tuning my guitar. Recently the harmonizer has been making a noise similar to turning it off and on very quickly and going in and out of tune. This will happen for about 2 seconds before it fixes itself and goes back to the tuning it is supposed to. Does anyone know why this occurring?

I´m having a issue with mi HD500X, the volume knob start moving without touching it, also, if i put the volume knob all the way up (for example), the POD shows a different position in the screen (maybe 3/4) This issue is really annoying, as sometimes I save a preset with the volume in 3/4, and If i have the knob in 50%, it could decrease the volume while I´m playing. sometimes this doesn´t happend, but, must of the time it does. Has anyone had the same problem? how can i solve it? Thank you in advance for your comments. -
Hey everyone! Long time HD Pro user and fan here. So this unit has now been retired to a specific project I'm part of and I was wondering if it's possible to rename banks using the edit software? (Not just the individual patches/presets or the setlist, but the numbered bank that is made up of 4 patches). By default these are assigned number but the act I'm part of now is very FX heavy so it would be great to customize and dedicate a bank of 4 presets to a specific song and have that also show up on my mk2 floorboard for live shows. Anyone who can answer this will be rewarded with a crisp digital high 5 from yours truly! Thanks in advance!

Can anyone here confirm if the amp models in the plugin POD Farm Platinum are the same as the ones that could be found in the POD HD500X or POD HD PRO X with the add-on model packs? Trying to figure out if the plugin or the hardware is the more reasonable purchase for myself. Thanks! -
Hey all. This is going to sound dumb but I would love to get some (constructive) thoughts on this... I use my POD HD500X as a pedalboard for its great reverbs, delays, overdrive, modulation, etc. through my VHT Special 6 Ultra combo for guitar and pedal steel guitar. My pedal steel does not have an onboard tone or volume control, which is pretty common for those. Many players use a compact preamp mounted to their steel guitar so they can make tweaks to volume and tone on the fly. I don't intend to use amp emulation most of the time but I may do it on occasion to go direct to the board at church or a gig. Question: what is your best method to use the HD500X as a pre-amp? Subquestion: can I use the hardware knobs to modify treble/mid/bass/presence/volume (sound) without emulating an amp or cabinet? Subqueston: can this be done without using a pedal chain slot? Currently I am using the HD500X with Studio/Direct output mode and input Z set to 3.5m or 1m to neutralize any color to the signal (many, many thanks to @hurghanico for their invaluable advice!) . But I'd like to be able to shape the tone and maybe add a little boost, ideally without using one of the available blocks in the pedal chain. Hey all, I know this is a common topic but I still haven't found a satisfying answer so I'm going to ask it... How can I remove the tone coloring that occurs on the HD500X when in stompbox mode and all effects (and amp models) are OFF? I can tell when I go to the tuner and use the bypass mode that with all effects off, the 500X is still affecting my tone. In tuner bypass mode, the signal to amp is dry and unaffected do the 500x *should* be capable of not coloring my signal. In regular play, with all fx off and the amp model disabled, the tone is darker and the signal is weaker. This is really frustrating because what I wanted the 500X is for it's stompbox effects not an amp modeler. I know about the 4 cable method and using the modeling for the preamp toy amp, but that will be a last resort. I just really want the effects and my amp's tone! Please help! Hi guys, Just to let you know that following applications work flawlessly on macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 - POD HD500X Edit 2.27 - Licence manager, Version 1.14 - Drivers, Version 7.6.8 I haven’t needed any other software yet (I don’t even know if I could use all of it). But I believe these are the essentials which would prevent most of us to update. If you are still scared to upgrade or would like to have any additional sw tested, please let me know - if I can, I will gladly help you out. Addition: I’ve recently done a very extensive troubleshooting on Drivers compatibility for Catalina (Big Sur shouldn’t be that different) so I’m throwing the complete troubleshooting guide in as an attachment. No more. Just no more. I f*cking tired of this. Brand New laptop with win 10= blue screen of death. I tried literally everything, Just everything. And it goes to bsod again and again. Really? When i bought it i thought it's a dream machine. Now i see, that it is a piece of garbage. Dear line 6 support, i hope when you die, and you want to go to the heaven, you ll see bsod every f*cking time, when you try to do so. And i hope your company will vanish into dust for such sh*tty customer service. I'll switch to another interface, because i want to make music, not lollipop with settings, drivers, and all sh*t! Best community, f*cked corporation.

Hi, ... the HD500X is up to date ! My headphone is always connected on my HD500X both listening and recording The probelem is this ; when i play guitar on my HD500X the sound is good & i want that sound on the recording tracks ! But it's not the case ...it's too different ! After the recording the sound is very different! The EQ on the HD500X is disable. I use Cubase 10,5, Windows 10 (64 bits) & of course the HD500X as audio interface ... every plugings & EQ are disable on Cubase to get the sound of the HD500X...but the sound is still different after a new track is done ! Yet, I want the same sound ... how to get it ? Thanks Daniel

Hi folks! Just arrived my hd500x 2 days ago. Got a fresh pack of EB regular slinky (. 10 /. 46) to replace in my RR1. Soooo..... Question is (never tryed pitch glide or D tunning): Op A) Tune std E and down to whatever with pitch glide. Op B) Take advantage of the high tensión in this pack (tunning to std E requires 5 springs set in my schaller double locking trem). Tune D and use pitch glide for std tunnig and even lower (C, B) The op B came while thinking 5 springs means there's a lot of tension in that pack. Trem, action & relief adjust is no issue, just pain in the axe. I read U. Thanks.

Hello! First time poster here. I'm thinking of upgrading to a POD Go from my trusty old HD500X, but I'm not sure I'll be able to run some of my current patches. My main concern is a D.I/clean fender style patch with 2 pitch bend pedals (one an octave above and one an octave below), plate reverb and digital or mod delay. I use this patch quite a lot for clean/ambient tones! As for everything else I use it's usually nothing more than a standard clean, transparent OD or high gain tones with reverb, delay, noise gate, chorus. All of these are mix and match depending on the gig/song but I'd never really exceed the four blocks I can edit apart from the odd volume or EQ that's included in the non-editable blocks! But I would definitely use the four blocks with pretty much all lead/clean tones. I'll be using it live and as an FX unit for demo recording on my PC. If it's the case that the LT would be a better fit I don't mind too much (I'd originally planned on getting a Boss GT-1000... sacrilege I know). Any help/advice would be appreciated!

In the past few months I've been trying to really get back in the swing of playing guitar again and trying to learn more about effects, chains, all kinds of fun stuff. I bought the HD500x, and I've been getting a lot more comfortable with understanding the interface and experimenting with the different effects looking for the best tone to play with my team. What I wanted to learn about here is why someone might use the dual amp feature instead of just a single amp. Obviously it's about finding creating the right tone, but I was curious of any existing resources on the benefits of using mixed dual amps or perhaps two of the same amps. Thanks in advance!

I need some explanation on this product . I use to own this product, and bought the Line 6 Metal pack. But sold the hd500x. Can i reuse this on a new hd500x ( Metal Pack ) ? Also, i noticed that some web site mention the line 6 hd500x includes the " Now includes the HD Fully Loaded Amp Bundle - a $99 Value ", are all the hd500x have this or what exactly does this mean thanks for any help

In trying to use my HD500x as an audio interface, the audio level is EXTREMELY low... barely audible. Anyone else experiencing this or have a fix for it?

I just bought a DT50 and am waiting for it's arrival, and though I've looked I've not found an answer to this question: Do effect blocks after the amp model on an HD500X preset act like they are in the effects loop of the DT amp or are they all placed in front of the amp's preamp?

Is there any way to install the Flash Memory upgrade on an HD500X without using Monkey? I run MacOS Catalina and there is no working version of Monkey for Catalina currently available. How can I get the Flash Memory upgrade onto the device?

I recently purchased the HD500X after owning the HD400 for a while and it got me thinking if it’s possible to use the HD500X as an IEM board? I play for a church and instead of personal mixers, we use on-stage monitors. I found that this is quite inconvenient at most points. My question is, is it possible to run a 1/4 through the aux-in or an XLR into the HD500X that has the audio from the other instruments and vocals, but not run the monitor mix back out through the PA? I know that the Helix could perform such task, but could the HD500X do the same? I feel like if it’s possible, but I’m unsure if it could be done. Thank you in advance!
