  1. Hey all, I didn't see any post that covers a potential bug I've found yet so posting here. I am using Helix Native 3.71 on Windows 11. My PC is decently high-end, 32gb RAM, 7900x CPU, etc. I've confirmed this occurs in both Cubase Pro 13 and FL Studio 21.2.2. Fresh installs of everything. UMC404HD interface. Helix Native works fine once added to a channel initially, and even after switching through a few different presets, but eventually after switching through many presets (30+) it stops outputting any audio. The plugin still does show the input levels are present (see pics), but even if you disable all the effects or switch presets, once it enters this broken state it will no longer output any audio. If you restart the DAW or delete the plugin from the channel and re-add it then it works fine with any preset again. In FL Studio, it actually makes a quick buzzing sound at the moment it breaks. When this occurs, other instances of Native on other channels don't cease functioning. This feels like it might be a memory leak within the plugin; resources are being allocated when switching between presets but never released, so eventually it presents an OOM exception in Native. It seems to happen faster when switching between more intensive presets (ie: DEVIN TOWNSEND). However, I don't see any increase in memory usage in the Task Manager when this happens. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to resolve it? Is it possible to file a bug report? Would any other information could help debug this? Greatly appreciate any insight, thanks.
  2. Hello folks, They call me GEDD! I am fairly new to modeling. Got myself a helix floor unit a couple of months back. I have been expanding my knowledge in and around properly utilizing it. In this pursuit of creating my desired tones below are some questions i have for you. QUESTION 1: How do you choose a cab to compliment the tone that you have already achieved in the signal chain pre adding a CAB? QUESTION 2: Looking at the signal chain from every point of view (technical or otherwise) is a cab "mandatory" to be added in a signal chain if the you have already achieved the desired tone? I hope to get different takes on how each of you approach this part of the signal chain and what is the factual / feel reason that prompts you make the cab choices you make. I would also appreciate any tips or advise you have to offer. Thanks for taking the time in reading this post and contributing. Cheers - GEDD I have attached a custom tone file in which i have already achieved the tone i am looking for. Feel free to take a look. GRAM-GSG (EX).hlx
  3. Hello, I have a Helix Native plugin for sale for £160. I can transfer the license or pass the entire account. PM if interested. Cheers!
  4. There’s a particular type of workflow i wish i could have while recording a guitar. I’m using a DAW for music production. Usually when i’m composing i tend use many plugins where each plugin introduces some latency. Obviously the latencies add up the more plugins i’m using. I’d like to be able to record a guitar with almost zero latency while tracking and be able to audition the presets and see what sound fits the track i’m working on on the spot. Of course It’s pretty much impossible to do this using Helix Native in my DAW with a huge latency in my project. Would getting a Line 6 help me achive this workflow at all? So that i could use it, pick a preset from Line 6, hear it with no latency while playing along to the track in my DAW then record a dry signal into my DAW and afterwards i could process that dry signal with exactly the same preset in Helix Native in my DAW? Does that make any sense at all and is anyone doing it this way? I am very eager to find a way of making this type of workflow possible because i’m bit tired of having to freeze my tracks and turning off the plugins all the time.
  5. Please help! I'm pulling what's left of my hair out. I load an instance of Native into the Audio FX slot in Logic Pro and plug my guitar into Hi-Z. I can hear the un-effected guitar come through but no signal to Native. The only way I can get signal is using HX Edit routing through MIDI and then to Native, as shown in a Chad Boston YT tutorial, but Native is supposed to be able to be used as an audio plug in, correct? No need for HX Edit. My drivers / Firmware are all up to date on everything Helix. I'm so confused. Also... when I try to record with my Helix LT connected via XLR, there's crazy latency even though my buffer size is low. Any suggestions??
  6. Hello! First post to the forum. I've been having trouble in Helix Native. I had originally started with 2.90 and that was working great, and went to update to 3.51 and I would get "an unexpected error has occured" message and saying a crash dump had been created. I've tried uninstalling both applications, and even go as far as to update from 2.90 to 3.51 via every update in order and nothing seems to work. Luckily I'm able to revert to 2.90 and get helix native to operate again, but I'm really wanting the functionality of the latest update. Would anyone out there have an idea as to what is going on and why this would be happening? I searched and searched for a forum with this specific problem and couldn't find anything so I apologize if there's a duplicate out there. Thanks!
  7. Anyone know how I can get the old Kashmir preset for native or what the blocks would be so i could replicate it? I had it some years ago in a trial with Helix Native. I ended up freezing the patch in my DAW as not to lose the sound of it. Now I have Native and of course it updated over the old. Any suggestions? Thanks
  8. Hello, for a while now I am unable to use my purchased Line 6 Helix Native and support also seems to be unhelpful since they just sent me an instruction that is already in a different blog. However this does not seem to work for me. Has anybody faced this issue yet and has any idea on how to fix it? This is what was proposed to me (sorry for the German language) bitte Folgendes probieren: 1. 9. It is an ir that is being used by Helix, but it cannot be imported from Helix Native. What should I do? The program I am using is Logic Pro x. plz help
  10. Hi guys, I'm new in the Line6 world. I'm trying Helix Native on my Mac and I'm pretty satisfied. I've used Fractal Axe for years and now I have a real amp into an Apollo OX, getting a more pure sound but also very limited in terms of sound shaping options. I work mainly in studio so I don't need a live-tour portable setup, so I was thinking if there are any differences in terms of algorithm and sound between the Native Software version and the Helix Rack for example, in order to save money, since having a dedicated machine in studio its not essential for me. Tks for feedback
  11. So I'm having an issue since I upgraded to Windows 11. I can't seem to get past the login screen of Helix Native. It just freezes, this is on vst3 and vst2, version 3.11 and 3.15
  12. Hi, I'm digging in to doing some re-amping, with a choice of using either my Helix Floor or Helix Native for the job. I've got my routing working either way, and they both sound great, but it appears there is one compelling reason to do the majority of re-amping "discovery" in Helix Native. The reason is that, so far as I have been able to determine, checking out different patches via Helix Floor requires me to reset the Helix Floor patch input (e.g. to USB 3-4) every time I change to a new patch. OTOH, when using Helix Native, I can just click on new patches bing-bang-boom, no input resetting required. This is MUCH quicker! Do I understand the situation correctly, or am I missing the trick as to how to re-amp with Helix Floor without having to constantly set the patch input? (All the above using Helix ASIO driver, with a music mix playing back from the DAW)
  13. I just installed Helix Native and try to use it inside latest Cubase (11.0.41). My Windows 10 computer has two 4k Monitors connected. When the VSt window opens I see the Helix UI only very small, so I activate the "Allow window to be resized" function on the window. Window closes for some seconds and comes back in resized fashion. But as soon as it reappears a loud hissing sound (volume bar of channel shows -19 dB) can be heard. This happens every time I activate or de-activate the "allow window to be resized" function. To stop the hiss, I have to remove the HelixNative plugin from the channel's insert slot and have to re-select it there again. Is anybody aware of this issue? Is there perhaps another way to resize the plugin window for HiDPI displays (AFAIK the Cubase function "allow window to be resized" is only meant for legacy VSTs that are not aware of HiDPI)? best regards
  14. Hello, I just purchased Helix native. But that’s after this summer purchasing a used pod HD500x and 2 DT 50 amps one head and a 212. I’m retired living on a fixed income for now so I can’t afford a helix fit now but I took advantage of Sweetwater’s half off sale for the helix Native for 199.00 couldent turn that down plus got my buddy who prior was anti line 6 or digital anything. Anyway here’s what I’d like to do . Record into the Logic daw then the helix as AU in fx. Currently I have 2 audio interfaces my old old x3 pro and my newer HD500x. I’d like to use the HD500x and be able to plug my Variax Standard which I’m also fond of rout that signal with no coloring from the hd500, then be able to plug back into my twin DT 50s using the L6 Link of the HD500x so I can hear the helix sound through my DT 50s. I can’t find any instructional video regarding that setup. Basically I want to replace the sounds of the HD500x with the helix native but keep the dt50 setup. On top of that using the MIDI setup in the HD500x not the usb control helix native with my DT 500x. I fear I’ve made things too complicated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know this says I’m just starting out but I’ve owned every Variax including a few basses, every pod, 2 vettas and the one before the vetta, getting old lol memories goin. Lol. Appreciate any suggestions while I experiment on my own thanks , Mark
  15. Hi. I have a Helix floor and Helix Native. I don't know if this has been asked before. But is there a way I can transfer all my Helix floor patches to Native and Hx stomp? Thanks
  16. Not sure if this is an issue with all amp sims but with every amp sim I tried I've had this issue where I can hear the clean DI signal from the guitar under distorted tones. It's not that noticeable but it can still be heard. I made sure everything is on 100% wet and that doesn't fix it. I have direct monitoring turned off on my audio interface (it's a Behringer UMC22) so it's not caused by that. sample with amp sim enabled: https://sndup.net/2ptk sample of the clean DI track: https://sndup.net/37pn In this sample I'm using helix native inside of reaper. could the cheap audio interface be the problem, or maybe it's something to do with my technique? Thanks!
  17. I recently tried Helix Native, a week after, I was curious on why my DAW freezed. I tried to do programming with cmd and powershell if the solution would be there but no luck. So I tried it in another DAW and it also freezed, so I went back to the DAW that I usually use and tried a different plug-in and there seems to be no problem at all, when I inserted the Helix Native, it freezed again. Is there any solution to this issue? I've read a few forums and I didn't see any solution for this. Hopefully Line6 would fix it cause it has great tones and I just recently finished getting my tone and it would be a waste if it just freeze everytime.
  18. I recently purchased a set of M1 iMac and had it Logic Pro X installed. This M1 iMac is Big Sur based computer, by the way. Along with also newly purchased Symphony Desktop from Apogee, I tried to use my Helix Native, version 3.1.1, which I had been using on my Intel Macbook Pro as well. Only problem is, while, plug-ins provided by Apogee for Symphony Desktop seems to work fine on my M1 iMac, I just cannot load the Helix Native 3.1.1 in Logic. So, I went back and forth, uninstalled the Helix Native plug-in from my M1 iMac, and reinstalled, but I got a message saying, it "couldn't be opened" in the plug-in manager. I just want to confirm, that I am not the only one with this issue. I mean, I just want to know if this is a on-going issue, i.e. Helix Native 3.1.1.'s compatibility issue on M1 Macs. If not, I would really appreciate a word of advice on this.
  19. Well, in case you hadn’t noticed, and as most people don’t seem to bother visiting the dedicated HX Native section - Helix Native v.3.11 was released on June 1st, with very little fanfare in these forums. It has been noted that it fixes the Big Sur issues of “sluggishness” etc. The two bullet points state: Improved stability and performance on macOS Big Sur. Other minor improvements and bug fixes. Also, a new updated HX Edit v3.11 is available. Improved stability and performance on macOS Big Sur. HX Stomp/HX Stomp XL: Renamed snapshots would not appear in HX Edit's command center window. HX Stomp's Input block could show as "None" on rare occasions after restoring from a backup. Other minor improvements and bug fixes. Hope this helps/makes sense for all those who were troubled by the previous version. Go get it.
  20. Some users have had the Helix Native VST3 plugin file blacklisted within Cubase. Here is some troubleshooting info that may help. Be sure to try these steps in the exact order: 1. Uninstall the plug-in binaries and resource files, shown below 2. Launch Cubase so that it can clear it’s plugin cache 3. Quit Cubase completely 4. then reinstall Helix Native, latest version from our downloads page: https://line6.com/software/ You will need to uninstall Helix Native by deleting the plugin files listed here: Plug-in Binaries /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/Line 6/Helix Native.aaxplugin /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Helix Native.component /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Line 6/Helix Native.vst /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Line 6/Helix Native.vst3 Plug-in Resources /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/da /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/res
  21. Hi, I'm selling my Helix Native License by "Gift" transfer. (150$).
  22. Hi there! I'm an owner of Helix rack, controler and mission pedal. That works great. To complement this, I purchased a year ago Helix Native to have that also. Presently, it's at version 1.82. I wanted to update it to a higher version, possibly 3.10 if I may, but for the life of me I can not find anywhere a button or a menu where I can update the version already installed on my laptop. How is it done if it can be done at all? Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
  23. Hello, I am thinking to purchase the helix native plugin with a registered HX stomp. But is this plugin the full version of helix or is it like the HX stomp with maximum 8 blocks? Can i use it without connecting the HX stomp? Use my focusrite as interface? My HX stomp is on my "big" pedalboard and if this works i can leave my pedalboard at our rehearsal place more often. I can create and experiment with the helix native before i load everything on the HX stomp ;-). Thx!
  24. After installing Windows 10 on my PC I downloaded and installed Reaper and Helix Native 3.01. However, I've been unable to run Native in Reaper even though it worked flawlessly before Windows reinstall. I'm getting the dialog pictured below when I try to use VST3 version of Helix Native, and when I tried installing and running VST2 Reaper would just crash when I tried adding Native to a track, or when trying to open a project that uses Native. I tried downloading older versions of Native, but the only one I could get to work was Native 1.00, which is no good, since I need some blocks form the updated version for the recording I'm doing. I also checked, and I have Disk 0 listed in my disk manager, although it's not the system drive. I also tried downloading and installing Hx Edit, since I though it might install some necessary files with it, but it also doesn't work. After clicking the program icon the window doesn't even appear, and when looking at task manager I can see that it closes promptly after starting. Also, I tried running Helix Native in Cantabile, which is a freeware VST host, and it also crashed. Please help! EDIT: Managed to find a solution In my case the crash was caused by memory card reader in my PC case. When I disabled it, Native and Edit started to work.
