  1. I’m new to recording and having a problem. Just purchased Helix Native and Studio One Professional V5. My favorite patch sounds awesome. I connect to my computer and create two tracks to record the processed and DI. I create a Stereo track via USB 1 for the processed and a Mono track via USB 5 for the DI. My recording worked great. On playback, the processed track sounds great just as it does directly from the Stomp. I then add Hexlix Native to the mono DI track and pull up the exact same patch as the original and it sounds terrible. I made sure all settings were identical. The original wet track is a big stereo sound. The DI with Native sounds like it’s in stereo but nothing like the original. I’m wondering if I did something wrong with the track set-up. Should my DI mono track be converted to some sort of stereo track? I appreciate any thoughts you guys may have.
  2. Price : $249 I would like to sell my Helix Native by gifting the activation key to your line6 account Send me a notice if interested.
  3. Logic Pro X 10.5 - Helix Native Issues Since upgrading to the newest version of Logic Pro X 10.5, my Helix Native plugin is running horribly slow. I have tried all of my other guitar plugins and they are working perfectly. After lots of testing, it has come down to only Helix Native that is having issues. When changing/dragging blocks, adding new amps/effects, or simply trying to select patches, there is always a delay. Almost as if when you (for instance) try to move a block in the signal chain, it takes a second to realize what you are doing and delays your command. Very annoying and makes it difficult to work quickly. Any clues? Is there a way to uninstall Helix Native and re-install easily on a Mac? It seems that the upgrade to Logic 10.5 has done the damage, but again, only with Helix Native. I am running OS Mojave 10.14.6 and the most current version of Helix Native.
  4. Hey guys, I am now experimenting with recently launched Universal Audio's DAW called "LUNA". Apparently, LUNA doesn't not recognise Helix Native as plugin or audio units. Does anyone have tried anything or know if there is any sort of compatibility ? Regards Andre
  5. Hi there! About 5 years ago I purchased the UX2 audio interface along with PodFarm 2.5 with the metal shop pack. It has been a great experience but then I saw that there is a possibility to buy Helix Native. From what I understand, it's pretty much a modern & way more clear sounding PodFarm that's built in the Helix products. I have been thinking to upgrade to Helix Native but I am not sure whether it's going to work well (if at all) on the UX2 given that it's a pretty old device. Helix products cost a lot more than the UX2 and it seems like there should be a catch if I try to use it this way. If it's possible to run Helix Native using a UX properly, how different would it be than to use a Helix rack? I assume that the output quality is different, but other than that, will it affect the recording quality as well? If I record something with Helix Native using a Helix rack and then record the same thing using a UX2 with Helix Native, how different will the final product sound? I would like to know the limitations and differences, if any of you can point them out. Maybe I should just buy a Helix rack or multi-effect instead of a software upgrade alone. Also, is it a stand alone software like PodFarm 2.5 or is it just an addition to the DAW? Thanks a lot! PS: I know that I can demo it for free for 2 weeks before buying but I also didn't want to start the demo only to find out that it doesn't work at all on the UX2.
  6. I bought the Helix Native and not able to install it. I downloaded the installer, and when I double clikk on it, a window with this message. pops up: “Helix Native.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. I do not have any virus program on my computer. (Macbook pro MacOS Catalina). I even tried to turn internet off. It also says the software needs to be updated at Line 6, but I clicked on the newest version after I purchased it, I dont know what to update, there is no newer version of it on Line 6.I just bought this 5 days ago. I have a support ticket, but no answer. Please help...
  7. I installed a trail version of Helix Native 1.91 about 10 days ago and it worked up to now, but since today the plugin does not open and Logic gets stuck - so I have to Force Quite the application. In a thread it was suggested to delete the installation files and reinstall - it did it several times without success. The internet connection is fine, as I also downloaded the installation file and checked the MD5 hash. I also tried with another DAW (tracktion), but same behaviour. What I deleted before reinstallation: /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/Line 6 /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Helix Native.component /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Line 6 (did not exist) /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Line 6/* /Library/Application Support/Line 6/*
  8. Dude this is getting ridiculous. How do I save newly created presets and changes?? I'm using Logic Pro X and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong here. I create a preset or I make changes to a preset, I click the drop down at the top left of the Helix Native plug-in and click SAVE. It acts like it saves something. I double click to a different preset then back. Changes are GONE. WTF am I doing wrong? Please help me as I am at the end of my rope here. I wanted to create, not perform IT functions in order to be able to do so. Thank you to anyone that can help me out here.
  9. I'm writing a song that uses a square or saw tooth tremelo effect synced to the beat with a 100% intensity for the primary rhythm element. I've found that though you can sync the tempo to the track, you can't control the start of the tremelo cycle with the DAW to sync it up with other elements. This means that each time you start the track, the phase of the cycle may not be what you expect. That makes it very difficult to sync up properly... For example, I've set up a sine wave generator, then an instance of Helix Native with a single Modulation > Mono > Tremelo: I've then set up my DAW to enable the effect at a particular spot in the "song" so that the effect would theoretically start the cycle the same each time. Then, I rendered the same section of song 3 times and added them to the project. As you can see, the first bar is the solid block sine wave, and then the tremelo effect is kicked on. You'll notice that the phase of each cycle is quite different, even though they all are turned on at the exact same time. (Three may have been me accidentally leaving one unmuted before the next render) Next, I attempted to bypass the Helix plugin entirely, rather than just the tremelo effect block. The same behavior is exhibited. The start time of the cycle is entirely unpredictable, and appears to simply be running non-stop after you load the plugin into memory or something. As suspected, this is true for other Modulation effects as well. Here's the same test using a whole not with the Script Mod Phase effect: Helix Native needs to honor the Host Sync's start event (assuming that actually exists) to reset it's LFO for Modulation effects. Otherwise, results are unpredictable and potentially unusable during rendering. :( I haven't tested the Helix Floor pedal to see if the bypass/enable of a trem effect resets the LFO, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had the same basic problem...
  10. Hi, all, Of course, I seem to have the one problem that I cannot find on Google, YouTube, etc, so her I am.. i have just just updated My Helix Native to the latest iteration and I have also purchased IR’s from Line 6 and Dl’ed the free Allure pack, as well. the problem is I can’t seem to be able to use them. They don’t drag and drop as it shows in videos, also when I drag and I are to where I want ita white no go sign appears that seems to be telling me “No Dice, Baby.” can anyone share a solution with me? Thanks in advance.. Holly
  11. Hello guys, I have a strange problem with Helix Native in Cubase 9.0.40. When I activate the Monitoring on an Audio Channel with Helix Native as Insert Effect, I still get the clean signal together with the processed Helix Native signal. Even if I deactivate all outputs in Helix Native, I still get the clean signal from the Guitar. Direct Monitoring in Cubase is deactivate (obviously as you can also hear the processed sound from Helix Native) and other Plugins (like Guitar Rig) don't have this problem. It seems that the clean sound is always routed inside Helix Native when Cubase Monitoring is activ. This problem appears only with Monitoring. When I play back a recorded track (monitoring function now deactivated as it wouldn't play back the sound), the signal is processed the normal way. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks for your suggestions. Greetings, Jan
  12. Just tht I'd share my experience for those who might follow. Well first of all let me remind you, it is December 6 and Cyber Week Deals are only available from December 2 to December 8—so don’t delay! Last year I was hoping for a sale on Helix and didn't know my line 6 emails were going to spam so I missed it. Bagged myself a copy of HN this years tho. $279 marked down from 399 and includes a free copy of Cubase LE. Before I do the long story, I will give you the short answer - I am indeed impressed with the sound of the Helix native. I spend a lot of time focused on the Mesa Boogie Rectifier model and played till my fingers ached happily. Long story and updates will follow ... So I've been on a major tear trying to decide which direction to go musically. Been researching everything. About a year ago, I bought a Les Paul and a Spider V 30. I wanted to find out if I had a real guitar would I be able to get to the next level musically. I liked the idea of the Spider cause of all the built in effects. I worked with it slowly no rush over the past year. I was kinda scared of the Les Paul - too much power - or maybe scared I'd still suck even with that. After I got some more time on my hands I started working with it and noticed I couldn't really get a really good sound outta the spider. I tht a Les Paul shouldnt sound good - it shd sound incredible. Wasn't getting that. Started thinking I got a world class guitar and a junk amp. Maybe I read something wrong or whatever, but it seemed like when I first got the Spider I couldn't download from customtone. Anyways I did eventually figure that out. And after downloading a couple nice patches with a couple of tweaks I did get the spider sounding pretty good. However, I still think no modeling amp can match the sound of a tube.... To be continued ...
  13. Hi I use Helix Native within Logic as it gives me the ability to just record the straight guitar signal & thus give me the ability to re-amp at a later stage etc.. I would like to know if it is possible to use my Helix Floor pedal to control patch changes, turn FX on & off & use Snapshots in real time. My Helix ~Floor is connected to my Mac via USB & I feel sure that I should be able to do this but I'm not exactly sure how I go about it? I am using Logic X as my DAW.I can see Helix listed in the Midi Environment (Clicks & Ports). Do I connect the Helix (within the midi environment) to the "Input Notes" or "Sequencer Input" and do I then have to do anything else? I obviously don't want the Helix Floor to effect any midi changes to anything other than Helix Native. Here's hoping someone can help me out.
  14. I have recently purchased Helix Native in its 1.82 version and upgraded my Helix LT to 2.82. I was hoping to control Helix Native directly from my Helix LT, (switch Helix native presets from footswitches, use EXP pedal....) but i did not find any indication that this feature was existing. Can somebody tell me if this is possible ? or will it be possible soon ?
  15. Update I resolved the issue, which was due to a faulty battery on the Macbook Pro which didn’t hold any charge, once replaced, Helix Native runs smoothly. -------------------- Cubase At 1024 sample buffer size and one instance of the plugin, the CPU usage is at about 80% and audio drops out slightly. Two instances, or other plugins, lead to serious dropouts. Reaper At 1024 buffer size and one instance of the plugin, the CPU at about 30 % load and it works unless I do something CPU intensive. Two instances makes use of 60% and the audio only plays well for a few seconds before starting to drop out. Versions Helix Native 1.81 demo, Cubase Pro 10.0.40, Reaper 5.983/64, Mac OS 10.14.6 (8GB RAM), RME Fireface 400 via thunderbolt adapter with firmware version 3.36 and Totalmix 1.60. My computer. Do I have anything unusual taking up CPU?
  16. I'm interested in how the HX Stomp works with the Helix Native plugin. I know there are some limits to rig chain length in Stomp, but no limits in Native. Can I export Native patches to HX Stomp, and keep the full rig complexity?
  17. I have been trying out HelixNative demo - and I like it - I have been using Line6 Gear since the POD first came out and find it's great for live - and recording I have noticed if I own software I get a discount - nice ... And if I own Helix hardware I get a huge discount ... But If I buy Helix Native - without owning Helix Hardware - could I get a similar discount when I buy hardware ... Just doing a load of recording which will have to be taken live - and so I will need to recreate recorded sounds live - which either means using a Mainstage type setup - or getting Helix Hardware ... Anyone else thinking this ? Oh - and thinking that with Helix - I could get rid of a whole load of old Line 6 gear to finance Helix M
  18. Hi, fellow Helixoids! I've just released 13 new Helix sound sets, available at the Helix Marketplace. I've taken an unusual approach: While we all know that Helix is great at mimicking classic analog gear, I've been exploring Helix as the unique and powerful instrument it is, with an emphasis on startling new tones that could only have been created in Helix. I think these sounds will appeal to restlessly creative players in search of new tones and textures. (Admittedly, they're probably not suitable for REO Speedwagon cover bands.) Each board sell for $13 and has its own demo video at the above link. There's also a combo back offering all 13 sets at a 40% discount. Its demo video, which provides a taste of all 13 products, is a good starting point if you're curious. Thanks for listening! :)
  19. Hi, I'm a new guy here at Line6 forum I was considering to buy an HX Stomp for my home-studio only for recording purposes (no gigging or rehearsal), but I discovered that it can run up to 6 blocks. Considering that 2 block will be ever occupied by Amp and IR, 4 blocks remain. Overdrive/Distortion, modulation, delay, maybe a rotary effect as a second modulation... This could be my effects chain, but I couldn't add a simple EQ, or a compressor, nor a reverb. This could be frustratring sometimes. So I wondered if the Helix Native plugin could be a better option. What is the maximum number of blocks on Helix Native? I don't need fancy effects like synth, envelope filter or pitch wah. Comp, overdrive/dist/fuzz, modulation, delay, reverb, rotary (sometimes), EQ, amp, cab (IR). This is all I need. Do you think that the Helix Native can run this effects chain into my USB audio interface? Does the plugin have a DSP limit, similarly to physical counterparts (Helix, Helix LT, HX Stomp)? Thanks to all
  20. I just got an HX Stomp, and I want to take advantage of using the Helix Native live through using my Stomp as an audio interface. Has anybody tried the minimum specs the Helix Native can run? Has anyone tried using those small PC sticks, NUC PCs for DAW, vst, and live use especially Helix Native? How was the experience? Or should I just stick with a laptop, say a 2012 Macbook Pro which can be bought refurbished for $200?
  21. Hello. I was wondering if Helix Native would work in a mini PC that Im interested in. I plan to build a mobile rig using a mini Pc, a MIDI controller and a Lexicon Alpha (not the best but is what I have). The doubt comes with the characteristics of the microprocessor in the MIni PC, this is a Gigabyte Brix with a Celeron J3455 wich base frequency is 1.5 Ghz but the manufacturer says that works up 2,3 Ghz. As Native requirements says that need from 2 Ghz dual core, I started to think about that 1,5 Ghz base frequency. Wich is the number that I have to pay attention? 1,5 Ghz base freq or the "up to 2,3 Ghz? Thanks ...
  22. Hi there folks. I have had an HD 500 and have recently purchased an HXFX for use with my amp. I also recently purchased Helix Native for recording on my mac. There are not all that many patches for HXFX on customtone, but heaps for Helix etc. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to download cutomtone patches iinto Helix native? CANt seem to work out a way to do it. Cheers!
  23. I was excited to try the Helix Native, as my HD500X switches are starting to fail, so I was hoping I could just go with a software plug in. I can get it to work in MainStage but then it stops working. If I restart it will work again. Then I try to get it configured to work in Logic Pro and so far nothing will allow the source input to show up in the Helix Native interface. I don't think I would spend hundreds of dollars if I can't get the demo to play. It's a shame because when I can get it working it sounds very compelling! My set up; MacBook Pro Mac OS Mojave Logic Pro 10.4.4 MainStage 3.4.2 Universal Audio Thunderbolt Interface
  24. Good morning to the whole community. I am a happy owner of HX Stomp that I use with satisfaction as a pedal unit. Recently I entered the world of digital recording with Pro Tools HD 12 to self-produce (or at least, to try) some of my songs. Last night I tried to download the demo version of Helix Native to test it on my DAW and decide whether to buy it or not. The program recognizes it, I can load a stereo audio track and open Helix Native but what I hear is just a dry signal with no effect :( I state that I'm pretty ignorant of the audio recording so I'm probably doing something wrong. My hardware / software: - Pro Tools HD 12 64bit; - Windows 10 64 bit; - Helix Native Trial; - Focusrite 2i2 2nd; What I do is just connect my guitar to the first input of the sound card (INST) and play. Do you have any advice? What am I doing wrong? Is there any particular setting? Thank you! P.S: HX Stomp works perfectly (also as an audio interface) but Helix Native would be easier. P.P.S: sorry for my english :)
  25. Hello, I’m need to the helix and I’m struggling a bit. I’ve upgrade from an amplifi to the helix and I really liked how I could edit tones on my iPad. So naturally when I purchased the helix, I wanted similar functionality and purchased the helix native as a plugin in Cubase 10 since I was given a free copy. When I launched Cubase 10, create a track and add helix native, I select d a factory tone, but it doesn’t sync with the helix peddle. Am am I out of luck or is there a way to use both the helix and helix native together beyond syncing patches?
