Hi, I am new to all of this so I apologize if this is an ameteur question. I recently purchased a Helix LT and I downloaded a patch made for a Helix (10 Footswitches). When I drag the patch into the HX Editor, it doesnt work well with the Helix LT. I am assuming because the LT only has 8 footswitches. Is there a way for me to edit the patch I downloaded to only have 8 footswitches? I basically want to delete a couple effects that I dont really need. Thank you!

I hear that the HX Stomp is supposed to get 8 blocks for the Helix 2.0 Firmware update. Anyone have any idea if that's indicative of an under utilized DSP chip? Or is it efficiency improvements to the algorithms themselves? I'm mostly hoping for getting improvements in efficiency, because it would allow me to choose some different options on a path that has lots going on...

Hello all, Lets say you don't have 4CM as an option into your amp. What are some suggestions of constructing a signal chain to go in the front of an amp? For example - volume pedal --> distortion --> delay --> Reverb?

Hi, All... I am running Helix Rack with Controller and 3 expression pedals.... I also have 2 PowerCab 112+, with the first connected to Helix Vix 6 Link, and the second PowerCab 112+ connected to the first with 6Link as well. I am running 2 separate paths in Helix. Input for Path 1 is Variax (VDI) and Input for Path 2 is Guitar (for my daughter's Ovation) I am trying to have each path output directed to separate PC+. The problem is, when I select PC+ (#1) in output block of Path 1 it changes the Output Path 2 to the same PC+. Am I missing something? Only using MONO effects between Input and Output... Hola amigos.

Hello I will try to be as clear and brief as possible. I have the following situation with using my HX Stomp with Helix Native. I'm using the USB 5 input which corresponds to the direct signal from the guitar without being processed by the HX Stomp and anyway when I record a signal(empty preset), if I change the preset on the stomp the signal is affected in its gain level which is not it should happen as usb 5 sends the totally clean raw signal through the stomp. I read in another topic on this forum a similar situation and one of the support responses was that it was a "Bug" which the Line 6 team was already working to fix in a future update. I have read the manual, I have my HX Stomp with HX Edit updated just like Native. I have the Hx Stomp driver installed. I am using Cubase LE Al Elements 10.5 (Purchased) and my OS is MacOS Catalina 10.15.6. If someone could help me I will be very grateful. If I forgot something ... this is the first time I have written on this forum. Thank's!! About the picture : - The guit 01 block corresponds to the usb 5 signal with an empty preset. - The guit 02 block corresponds to the usb 5 signal with a preset created by me in the stomp. - Guit 06 block corresponds to usb 5 using my scarlett focusrite and audio 01_06 is the signal using usb stereo input 1 and 2 (Signal processed) with a preset that I created. **These last two blocks are irrelevant.**

Hi all, Firstly, major major noob when it comes to digital gear here, so please forgive my complete and utter ignorance. In my youth, I played in heavy metal bands that ended up doing a fair amount of gigging (low key!) and my amp of choice was a Marshall 1/2 stack with a 5150 head. I had 2 pedals, tuner and a noise gate, but that was it - pure chug, simple set up - easy for an idiot like me. Since then, I sold all my gear (bar my guitars!) and kept a small practice amp that just died. Fast forward to today and I’ve just purchased a Helix floor model. Great I thought, I don’t even need an amp, I’ll just plug it into my iMac via USB and away I go. Clearly, I was mistaken as this hasn’t worked. I have no external speakers, just my iMac internal speakers but was hoping this would be sufficient. I really want to keep the Helix, I had a good hour long play on it in the shop and love the idea of it, but I don’t want to have to invest in more gear to play it... am I being massively unrealistic? I do feel genuinely stupid, but can anyone suggest an easy way for me to get playing, preferably without having to outlay yet more cash? Apologies for my ignorance, but any help would be amazing! Thanks, G

Hi, for the past couple of days my HX stomp has been making a crackling noise underneath my guitar sound. It's like my guitar sound is mixed with the crackling noise. The noise is not too loud but it is definitely prominent when listened closely. I am using the Hx stomp power supply that came in with the product. I use a Beyerdynamic 770 pro 80 ohm Headphone directly from the Headphone jack in the stomp. The noise also exists after recording it in my DAW via USB. When I listened to some tracks that I recorded a week ago, the noise was not present. i tried the following, 1. Removing all the other pedals in the setup and using the Stomp as a standalone one 2. Changing headphones 3. Changing guitars 4. Changing guitar cable 5. Removing the USB connection from the Stomp 6. Playing with an absolutely clean amp setting 7. Removed delay and reverb from the chain 8. Used an EQ block to reduce to about -4 dB 9. Removing other devices from the power supply outlet 10. Tried factory presets also Nothing has worked. I can still hear that crackling sound. If anyone has experienced anything like this and found a solution, please let me know Thanks in advance

NEWBIE ALERT Purchasing a Helix and I already own a Quilter interblock 45w. Wondering the best sound option for live gigs. Currently I go POHD500x - 4 channel method with quilter interblock 45w into non powered 2x12 cabinet and then also from quilter interblcok house/soundboard to PAs . I like this setup, but a pain to tear down and setup constantly. Also, wondering if Helix technology is more advanced where i don't have to do this method anymore. I also want to make sure there isn't a better to maximize my equipment. Thanks!

Kinda scared to try again as fir My computer it is the newest of the new! ryzen 9 3900k 570 motherboard rtx2080 vid 48 gigs ram and all nvme or ssd drives. it has never done this before so I am just being carefull not to lose anything and I am backing everything up before trying again!

I'm running my Helix floor into a synergy syn50/50 tube power amp into a mesa 2x12 recto cab and it sounds completely lifeless, almost like there's a low cut turned up all the way. I've checked global eq probably 20 times now, everything is good in my patches, there's only two settings on the power amp and neither have much of an impact. It's not like a picky tone preference thing, there's seriously something way off about it, any advice helps, thanks

Hello! First time poster here. I'm thinking of upgrading to a POD Go from my trusty old HD500X, but I'm not sure I'll be able to run some of my current patches. My main concern is a D.I/clean fender style patch with 2 pitch bend pedals (one an octave above and one an octave below), plate reverb and digital or mod delay. I use this patch quite a lot for clean/ambient tones! As for everything else I use it's usually nothing more than a standard clean, transparent OD or high gain tones with reverb, delay, noise gate, chorus. All of these are mix and match depending on the gig/song but I'd never really exceed the four blocks I can edit apart from the odd volume or EQ that's included in the non-editable blocks! But I would definitely use the four blocks with pretty much all lead/clean tones. I'll be using it live and as an FX unit for demo recording on my PC. If it's the case that the LT would be a better fit I don't mind too much (I'd originally planned on getting a Boss GT-1000... sacrilege I know). Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Hi. I'm having trouble with my Helix Control. When i booted my rack unit up yesterday, the control also booted up in LCD Test mode. It switches between this and Update mode but never reverts back to presets. The rack is recognising this as having not been updated. I clicked update but it does nothing and just keep repeating, asking to update. I can't seem to get it out of the test mode so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Picture for reference

Does anybody know what the maximum time for the looper in the helix units is? How long can I record a riff before the capacity of the looper is reached. On the Spider IV for example it was only 60 sec.. I hope line6 hasn't saved the couple of cents this time and invested in the length of the looping. It is an important feature.

Hello, at the moment i use the helix floor in combination with a midicontroller. The Controller gets the powersupply from the variax-input of the helix and sends the midisignal to the midi-in from the helix. Is it possible to send the midi-signal over the variax-input so i dont need the second cable (midi-in). If yes, which pins i have to connect? thanks for your help

I was wondering if someone could offer me some advice on connections! I just bought the helix floor (AMAZING!), but I also own a tc helicon voicelive 3 extreme (VL3 for future reference) for vocals. I connect my guitar to the VL3 guitar in and then another cable from the guitar thru on VL3 (which passes only a dry guitar signal) to the Helix guitar in. So that's easy enough. The VL3 requires that for it to detect the chords for vocal harmonies and processing. Now I should say that I have a Yamaha Stagepas 600 pa system that I am connecting to for everything (No amp or FRFR). I would like to be able to use the looper on the VL3 in stereo for both the guitar from the Helix and the vocals from the VL3 itself but unsure of how to get this accomplished. I am assuming that it's with the effects loop on the Helix but I'm unfamiliar with effects loops. Also please note that the routing options on the VL3 outs are plentiful. So can I make them play nice? I have attached a photo of the VL3 rear INS/OUTS for reference. Also an image of the Yamaha pa mixer/amp. If someone could please HELP ME!

I welcomed with anticipation the new method of Helix linking its IRs to Presets with what appears to be the IR name (vs the index number in the list of IRs). My understanding of how this is supposed to work, is that once you have specified which IR a preset is based on, the preset is supposed to be smart enough to "find" that preset based on name -- in the list of IRs. I think this is supposed to provide the user the flexibility to rearrange the IRs without worrying about having to re-link the presets to new IR index numbers. I did some testing, and for the most part it, this feature SEEMED to work on my laptop. If you moved an IR, re-clicking on the preset would re-link to the IR in its new location.. I also found that if you deleted an IR, re-clicking the preset would produce an error message. I found however that on a number of occasions that if an IR was deleted, an error message was NOT presented when you re-selected the preset. What happened in this case was that the preset definition had been updated automatically to point to IR number 127 which was empty. In both cases, the name of the preset was lost. (It would have been more useful if this name had been displayed in the error message saying it could not find this IR). In addition, after spending THREE HOURS fixing my presets so they pointed to the proper IRs (they had gotten mixed up in the upgrade)... I created a bundle of my patches as well as some setlists, and then happily went to my second computer, fully expecting that I could just copy in my IRs to Helix Native, and then import my bundle or the setlists -- and then the preset references to the IRs would all sort themselves out... Nope. This did not work. Only about a half of the references to IRs were resolved, even though all my IRs were all copied into Helix Native first. Could anyone please confirm: - has anyone else experienced this bug? - am I doing something wrong: do the IR references not get copied into the bundles and setlists? Do I need to manually export and import each single preset in order to preserve the IR reference? (I certainly hope not! That would be way to much work). If someone from Line6 is reading this, could you please reply and comment on how this new feature (to co-ordinate presets and the IRs they reference) is SUPPOSED to work? Thanks for your help. Richard.

New VIdeo up on the channel! Finally got around to an overview of my Killswitch Engage tone. Thanks for all your patience on this. When I started the channel, I got on a roll with other videos and left some of these tones behind so it's been fun going back and finishing up the overview. Cheer!

Hi all! New Helix HX user as of this week and still trying to learn my way around this new (for me) FX platform. Is there any manual or guide that can explain how the Multitap 4 and 6 effects work? I'm trying to create a 3 tap delay with 3 different delay times (example: 200ms, 400ms, 600ms) but I only see 1 delay time setting. How do the taps work in those two effects?
