Looks pretty interesting, if it can do everything it says, and do it well, and if the company can avoid being sued for copyright infringements than we will have another decent product on the market and maybe some inspiration for Helix 2. I started converting some of my HD500 tones to Helix and realize there is no "Mid Focus EQ" in Helix, I didnt notice this before but 3 out of my 8 most used patches in HD500 used "Mid Focus EQ", I tweaked these patches (and probably this EQ as well) a lot over last several years and really love those tones I get out of HD500. I thought I could get closer in Helix by using "Low and High Cut" EQ but thats not it, next stop was "Parametric EQ" and I think thats my best bet but thoroughly confused with what to do with how to get my high pass and low pass frequencies? any suggestions?

Hey folks, I have a dual amp patch that I'm working on, but I can't seem to figure out how to bypass amp #1 by pushing the footswitch assigned to amp #2, and vice versa.

Sorry to bother y'all, I know this is a basic question... I bought my Helix July 14th and want to start downloading patches from the site but, after watching videos and looking at other forums, I still cannot figure out how to properly set things up. I have downloaded the Line 6 Updater as well as the Helix sidebar thing for dragging and dropping patches. However, after hooking the helix up to the computer and trying to drag and drop a few patches, errors kept coming up and failed to download. Clearly I technology is not my strong suit... do I just need to update something? Please help! Thank you

I want to set a compressor gain at 4.0 on Snapshot 1 and a gain of 6.0 on snapshot 2. It doesn't work at all: all the snapshots recall only the same setting, the last one... The snapshots seem only capable of recalling if a block is off or on. Is it normal? I guess not, it is quite useless if the snapshots cannot recall the different parameters settings inside a block from snapshot to snapshot. What could I've been doing wrong? Helix V2.71

I'm debating on getting either a Swan or NSP flight case, and was wondering if I could get testimonials from anybody who has either of these? The Swan seems nice because it has extra room for the power cable. However, I haven't seen any reviews for it, and everybody here seems to like the NSP case. I'm sure either will work fine, but I decided to post here before I made any final decision. I've seen in multiple threads and the manual that you should be able to change the variax model per snapshot; however, it only seems to allow it globally or per preset. Using "HX edit 2.6" (in the first image) you can see that there is an option for snapshot clicking on the camera in the upper right. But in the actual selection area (second image, right side), you only have the global and preset option, nothing on snapshots. I have a JTV59 I think it is, and am using the cat5 cable between it and the helix. Although this snapshot option should be visible independent of the variax. I didn't see anything in the release notes for HX edit that addresses it so I doubt upgrading will fix it. Has anyone else run into this or is there a work around? Thanks, Bobby

Im new to the Helix and i've looked through a lot of tones but i'm looking for some older mixes like Sleepwalk,deep purple, chuck berry,....i've messed around and i cant seem to get the right tones of course im new also to the use this kinda set up....any help from you that are more experienced with this would greatly be appreciated ....thanks in advance

Hello, just got the line 6 Helix and updated with latest 2.71 firmware, then looked for the editor and do not see it at all....just patches and updates ....any suggestions??

Can you connect Helix to a stagescape mixer via L6 LINK? If so what parameters can you control?

Hello! Is there in Helix Floor, any posibility to sync tempo-based effects to external midi-clock? Always when i'm sending tempo, TAP blinks blue, thats fine. But if choose like filter step-frequency (or any other tempo-based parameter) to for example 1\4, it does nothing, not matching external-BPM. The same is for delay, tremolo, phaser etc.

Hi there. I´m a spanish musician playing several times a week in a cover band. Always have had Line 6 products, from the first POD model to HD500, Relay Wireless Systems... etc... Now I´ve sold my HD500 and bought a HELIX LT. I´m quite happy with it; good sound enough for giggin' and great flexibility to organize large setlists of songs with many changes and variations in gain and FX thanks to snapshots. My big problem is... I also have a Variax 500, wich I love, but I can´t see what to do now.. Old Variax models and Helix are not fully compatible. And.... there is no left handed models for the new variax range. I could put my Helix on sale and get an old HD 500 again, but it seems a lollipop solution, don't you think? I don´t want to give up to all my new bank of sounds (better than ever) and the "snapshots" flexibility. If Line 6 is not decided to create a lefty model for new Variax is OK to me, I´m fine with my old 500... but we need a solution for fixing this, and we need it soon, please. Is there any chance to create any sofware "patch" for the Workbench editor in order to connect with Helix? Or any special update for Lefty registered owners? Right handed people can update from Variax 500 to Standard, JTV or Shuriken.... but there´s nothing we can do so far.

I use a Helix floor and recently bought a Powercab plus for gigging. I like it, however, in my home setup, I use a pair of Yamaha HS8's and have usually built 'thick' guitar patches where I will pan one path hard right and the other hard left and add a 45ms delay on one and perhaps add two diff cabs (one with more bottom and one with more top) to each path. Another trick I sometimes do is add a slight pitch shift on the paths...say +6 cents on one path and -6 cents on the other. All in an effort to thicken that sound. This as I am sure you can appreciate, doesn't translate to one PC+. For the single PC+ I have rebuilt these patches by just using one path and panning it centre. Sounds great, but just not 'full' like I am used to. Not many people talk about using PC+ as a pair and not sure if this is the right way to go (including if playing live) as so many 'experts' online frown at a stereo guitar rig (although, what I described isn't stereo in the traditional sense with ping pong effects and drastic differences between left and right channel, just some tricks to fatten the sound. Any input you have on this would be soooooooo appreciated re: going PC+ times 2!!!

Hi, Was hoping to get some thoughts from people on amplification solutions for the Helix and I've narrowed my options down to either a Powercab Plus (possibly two to run stereo, but that could be overkill) or get a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700 and run through my current speaker cabs. I know that the Powercab Plus will give me more versatility with the different speaker models, but I'm also interested in the SD Powerstage with my current 212 cabs to save some space, as well as keeping things simple because I'm not sure I need all of the flexibility of the PC+. Is there anyone here with experience with either one of these (or both) that could help me out? That is, make a good case for either solution with sounds being the primary focus, and not think too much about the cost. Thx. B.O.G

Trying to program different guitar models to change via Snapshots. SO I programmed a preset with different effects, then in the Variax settings to "global" and then hold and dialled until my desired guitar model was shown in brackets. Saved the preset then changed to snapshot 2 turned the knob until I had my other desired guitar model into brackets and saved again. Now when I change the snapshots, all the effects on/off work as expected, but for the guitar model to change it doesn't work reliably. Sometimes it stays at the model the switch on the guitar is set to. Sometimes it switches to the right guitar model 2 or 3 times, and sometimes it even selects a complete different model. I programmed Snapshot 1 with Shuriken and Snapshot 2 with Leicester 5. Coming from a preset where I used acoustic 2 it should change to Shuriken, but stays on acoustic2. Then I change to snapshot 2 and I get the right Leicester 5, than back to Snap 1 I get the right Shuriken, but then back to Snap two all of a sudden I get Leicester-1 Am I missing something ? A few days ago somebody smashed out my window out in AZ and stole all of my gear from my trunk. Now, being that I’m 17, I rely heavily on modeling products to cut down on costs, but I still won’t have the funds for years to replace any of the equipment that was stolen. The idiot was able to get away with my Helix, Powercab 112 Plus, JTV-89F, and a few other miscellaneous items, but I was wondering if there’s some warranty that can cover products that were bought not directly from Line 6? They were all bought used and from pawnshops. Also is there some form of security meaure that prevents the Helix from connecting to another Line 6 account or some form of lock out precaution? I ended up creating a GoFundMe in the meantime to help fund the replacement items, but so far no one wants to donate or share the link since I’m not a 5 year old cancer patient. I’ll include the link just in case of some miracle happens from the guitar world. Thanks in Advanced, JB

I only use my Helix at home but I am disappointed at the sound going through my power am + cab, and my KRK RP5s are a little disappointing too, especially on the power level. Anybody any recommendations? I want a good stereo sound.

The Helix Hardware has good support for the Variax. Wondering if the software will integrate somehow with the Variax? I know the communication with the Variax is currently limited over USB, but because the VDI spec is closed we have no idea of what's possible using that or USB. FYI.. Here's my ideascale to build a stand-alone Variax interface that could be used along with Helix Native.

Hi guys, here are a couple of my favorite patches that I'd like to share. I spent quite a few hours to dial them in. They sound really good (at least to my ear) with either my DT880 and my FRFR (ELX200-12P). I uploaded them to line6's custom tone here: https://line6.com/customtone/profile/yingwuzhao Though I have tons of IRs, but I found I can dial in very similar or better tones via a pair of Helix's cabs than any IR I imported. There are 5 clean tones, 1 crunchy and 2 lead tones. Let me know how you like them, and which one do you like the best. Enjoy :-)

I use my floor helix for my guitar, for second guitar in band and for vocal So, in my presets I have 3 paths, my go to main 1/4 outs, second guitar to send 1+2 and vocal to main xlr outs This allows to controll all volume from mixing desk Also I use headphones Yesterday I tried powercab in music shop via l6 linl And I discovered, that I need to change this destination of paths from XLR to All outputs or digital to hear any sound So, can I just get all paths sound, keeping it separated outputs, via l6 link?

I'm trying to determine the best connection scheme for my Helix to feed the Firehawk 1500 in order to utilize the amp STRICTLYas an FRFR stereo amplifier (i.e., NO Firehawk amps/effects). After researching in this Forum (and the Firehawk 1500 Forum), I've seen & tried several appealing variations on how to do this. However, it still seems that people are still 'searching' for the best way to marry the Helix with the Firehawk 1500 in an FRFR situation. Possibilities include: Scenario 1: Helix 1/4" Stereo Outs -> Firehawk 1500 1/4" FX Stereo Returns, (with an UN-EFFECTED Neutral Patch). This provides a stereo amplified output. Scenario 2: Helix Stereo XLR Outs -> Firehawk 1500 XLR Monitor Ins (which are controlled by the Monitor Gain Level Control). This provides a better/stronger level stereo amplified output, and is not affected by anything AFTER the Firehawk's Stereo Returns (other than a Global EQ). Scenario 3: Helix 1/4" Mono Out -> Firehawk 1500 1/4" Guitar In (with an UN-EFFECTED, Neutral Patch) PLUS Helix Stereo XLR Outs -> Firehawk 1500 XLR Monitor Ins (again, controlled by the Monitor Gain Level Control). This engages use of the Firehawk 1500's mono horn, which apparently is not engaged in Scenario's 1 & 2. Using Scenario 3 - running the Helix both in Mono (Guitar In) AND in Stereo (Monitor In) - seems to have the most promise, but there is an odd behavior with the Firehawk 1500's Monitor Gain Level Control. Rotating from 0% to 50% causes the output to actually DECREASE (sounds like a phase cancellation issue between the Guitar In and the Monitor In). Continuing from 50% to 100% brings the gain back (plenty loud!), presumedly because the XLR Monitor In gain is over-taking the Guitar In gain and making the phase anomalies less noticeable. I have checked my cables (especially the XLR's), and all are wired correctly to maintain correct phase relationships. Has anyone with the same gear had a similar experience, or a better connection suggestion? I'll admit, I've been apprehensive on the whole FRFR thing live (up to this point), but I'm hearing a LOT of promise in getting the Helix amplified with this setup. The Firehawk 1500 is quickly making me a believer, other than the odd behavior I've cited. Having my own amp control is essential, because I do not want to just hand-off the XLR outs of my Helix to the FOH/Monitor guys. I play in many different scenarios and cannot rely on different FOH/Monitor providers for a consistent sound. Consistency does not exist in that realm for the variety of live gigs I play (corner bar gigs where we hire the sound company, to Festivals where sound is provided and there's a 15-minute changeover between bands).

I was thinking of using the ext amp on the Helix LT as a footswitch to control the Boss RC3. I don't have the RC3 yet but would like to know if it is possible.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help, I'm having two problems (one might be how I have it set up admittedly); The first is that when I use the HX with the Kemper, the HX is providing extra input volume which is driving the profiles harder. I've checked all my volumes on each pedal and they're all set to 0db and I've tested with no pedals turned on at all and the level is the same; it's only when the HX is turned off that the signal is as expected going to the Kemper. Second is a very weird issue that has happened with the auto filter. It was setup as default (no settings on it were changed), and it was placed in the effects loop of the Kemper. The first time I turned it on with the Kemper it had no high end at all, only the bottom end was coming through, and background 'hiss' slowly increased to a decently audible level which then petered off after I had turned off the auto filter. The problem is that after this has happened the Kemper now regardless of anything being plugged in will have this very slow build up of hiss which just dissipates and goes back to normal, but I have no idea why this has happened or how to fix it. The hiss seems to have been coming from the kpa, but it was definitely kicked off by the hx and (whether it was just happen-stance timing or not) the auto filter effect. Auto filter seems to be working fine now but I have changed the output of the kpa to the line out rather than the monitor out which I was using before. My setup is; Guitar > HX input > HX effects loop send to Kemper input > Kemper effects send to HX effects loop return > HX main output to Kemper effects return > Laney LFR-112 powered FRFR I've checked the in/out settings in the HX and everything is instrument level Everything is being run from the one extension lead Effects loop on the kpa is in the X slot, and in the HX is one loop block placed before any modulation/delay I'm not really sure of when to use ground lifts, but when the hiss has appeared I've just gone one by one through to turn each on/off to see if there's any difference and there isn't. Any help is much appreciated!
