Hi All! I am building a preset in Helix Native and cannot for the life of me figure out how to change a parameter for just one snapshot. Example: I have an IR block that applies to all 5 of my snapshots. However, when switching to a clean sound, I want to boost the Level of the IR a few dB. I know on my Helix Floor, I just push in the parameter knob and it turns that value white. Can this be done in Native? Thanks!!!

I'm wondering what if a foot switch or a knob on a HX/helix is destroyed, can we use a midi controller footswitch to act as that destroyed footswitch or an expression pedal act as that destroyed knob?

I'm on the cusp of investing in a Helix HX, and part of the attraction is being able to control my amp channels & fx loop with it. I have an EVH 5150iii 50w head and currently change the channels with a Tech 21 Midi Moose using the EVH 'midi learn' function. I plan to use the same with the Helix HX. However, to switch fx loop on/off in the EVH, the manual states: "simply send a control change #85 message with a value of 63 or less to bypass the effects loop, or a value of 64 or greater to enable the effects loop". Can I do this from the Helix HX?

Okay so I know Helix isn’t made for this but it almost works! I have a Behringer UMC404 which I use 3 mics plugged into XLR inputs. works great. but I’d like to use a compressor and some vocal effects live. I’ve gone from the Behringer to the Helix via the inserts on the back using a Y cable into the send and return of the effects loop o the helix. It works but I think because the helix output is Send 1/2 Send 3/4 for some reason, The first mic in input one suddenly picks up Mic input 2. so what I mean is when I use the mic plugged into the first input it also comes through input 1 and 2. everything else is fine except I can’t seem to get input 1 and 3 to be serperate. im sure no one has done this and not much advice but if anyone has an idea please let me know! sorry for my grammar etc I’m typing Ona. Japanese keyboard and English is hard to change to.

--- [1] ----- [a] In this past mid-April 2018, I saw Little River Band at L'Auberge Casino, Baton Rouge, La. I got to the concert early & entered the venue when the doors were opened about an hour or so before the concert. ----- {b} ------- {i} Quickly being bored in my seat & with about 45 minutes to go before the concert, I went to the stage & see LRB's set up, which was complete. While at the stage, I saw that at both of LRB's guitar players' (Rich Herring (lead) & Colin Whinnery (co-lead, rhythm)) stations were Helix Floors. I struck up a conversation with one of the near roadies (quite probably the guitar roadie). The roadie said up until this tour, LRB had used rented AC30 amps. However, on this tour, both guitar players were using Helixes. The roadie said that the guitarists loved their Helixes. Further, he said that the Helixes simplified & expedited setup & made the house mix much easier to perfect. ------- [ii] After the concert in the venue's lobby, at the LRB meet & greet the crowd get together, I asked Whinnery about the Helix. He said that he loved the Helix, & that he was going to purchase another one for his home. ------- [iii] Also & quite expectedly, LRB sounded great vocally (lush multi-2, 3, & 4-part vocals; all five members sing), instrumentally, & twin-guitar wise. They sounded like LRB, & they are LRB. Further, there was no way that anyone could tell if the LRB guitarists were using real amps & stomp-boxes or Helix, which sounded. ------- [iv] Point of note: In LRB's songs, "Help Is On Its Way" (2-part harmony guitar phrase, followed by a 3-part harmony guitar phrase) & "Night Owls" (3-part harmony guitar phrases), 3-part guitar harmony phrases were performed by the two guitarists. One might logically conclude that one of the guitar players, probably Whinnery), kicked in harmony-mode on his Helix to enable the 3-part guitar harmonies to be properly & exactly replicated. --- [2] Doobie Brothers lead guitarist, John McFee, uses Helix, a Variax Standard, & Line 6 Acoustic. Sorry for the delay as I have been swamped. Today we have a Nirvana tone and playthrough for Come as You Are. This was a lot of fun to record and while the tones aren't a spot on recreation, I feel it fits the song. Of course, all guitar and bass were recorded using the Line 6 Helix using Ownhammer impulses. Hi, I would like to have your opinion on a strange noise coming from my setup : I'm using the 4CM with my Helix and my Engl Ironball head following the standard procedure : https://goo.gl/images/7CrDsD On my Engl clean channel, the sound is ok without any buzz or parasites. Problems happens when I switch on the lead channel and get awful numeric sounds (Which you could hear right here : https://youtu.be/l-dEdm9L2IM). I've run other tests to try to find the guilty : running a boss delay on the fx loop of my Engl on Lead doesn't produce any parasites, running the helix with the 4CM on a tubeless combo amp (peavey bandit) lead channel doesn't produce any parasites whatsoever. What would you think ? Inevitable DA/AD parasites sound coming from Helix amplify on high gain tube amp ? Thanks !

I don't spend too much time on the forums so I'm not exactly sure where people go to share things like 'wish lists' for possible added fx models in future firmware updates.....so I thought I'd add one here! I just watched a presenter demo the Mobius (from Strymon) and I LOVED the 'Destroyer' setting!! It lets you tear apart the regular, pristine signal at your selected bit rate, also lets you dial in or out some 'crackle', and then you've got a tone that sounds exactly like it's coming out of an old vinyl record player!!! I don't know why but lately I've been digging all those lo-fi type effects for some reason. I love the contrast they can give to all the great, clear tones you can get out of the Helix....doing something like that can really wake the audience up! Of course, I'm fairly new to the Helix so maybe there's already something in there like that so maybe someone can point me in the right direction, but if not, that might be a cool model to add in a future firmware update. Keep up the great work Line 6!!!!

Just got Powercab 112 Plus on Friday. I'm having an issue with the L6 Link connection and wondering if anyone else has the same issue. I bought a 25 ft Hosa AES/EBU cable to use for the L6 Link connection and wasn't able to get any sound to come through at all (no pops or anything). I then tested a different standard XLR cable and was able to get minimal signal to come through, but mostly a popping sound even when Helix is turned all the way down. I tested it again with a short 5 ft XLR cable and everything seemed to work...until the signal would pop and dropout for about 1-2 seconds every 5-10 minutes. Basically, I can get it to work with 1-2 second dropouts every 5-10 minutes, but it seems like only the shorter XLR cables work, and longer XLR cables produce mostly a popping noise. I have contacted support and they suggest me go to the a store and see if the issue is coming from Helix or Powercab. Before I do anything, I want to see what you guys think or if anyone has experienced this. Really hoping this can be fixed with a firmware update like the SPDIF dropout issue in the past.

I've fallen in love with the 'Alpha Haunt' by Old Blood Noise Endeavours. But it's quite expensive after international shipping and the currency change. I want to try replicating it in the Helix, but I'm pretty new to Fuzz tones (mostly been an OD guy) and haven't done a good job so far. Who can help me get a preset together that works like the Alpha Haunt? PEDAL DEMO .

What are you using the pre blocks for?... reason i am asking is so far not really finding ever using them....I tried 1) Using as an amp before a cab 2) Using a pre before an amp block (yuk) While they use less dsp I am not finding them useful so I am asking you what and how are you using them if at all.

Anyone found settings to emulate the Flint's beautiful infinite decay "80s" reverb? It seems that I can get close with the Cave reverb using a decay of 10.0 with high cut around 2k, but I would love to hear what others have tried.

Just wondering if we could get a helix model of this in the new update? I figured it would help me have more game and increase my chances of satisfying my female audience members. I see there are discounts for Helix Native from Helix, Helix LT, etc - is Helix HX included? It is not listed on the Native site. Is there a discount for Helix Native from Helix HX?

For the Helix Floor, is there a way to control the volume of the USB 1/2 out with the EXP Pedal? I can control the volume with the volume knob but for stage performance, I would like to use the EXP pedal. I am connecting the Helix via USB to my laptop or iPad to play tracks. Thanks!

Why is Variax + Helix changing to the wrong models in snap shots? So i painfully went and programmed each snap shot with a specific model I want to use..so far great..I go to use them and it seems that touching tone or volume (not sure which) is causing the models to change in the snap shots..I set Custom -1 and later its some random instrument like Lester or spank or whatever. i checked Helix editor and only assign is model via snap shots (in brackets) and tone and volume all say 'dont force' If i lock out the tone knob in the editor the models stay put...not sure where this is not working or if its a bug.. I need my tone knob so thats not an option

I followed the instructions in the latest Helix Edit and Helix Owners manuals about loading IRs into the IR Index on the left side of the Helix Edit screen. The Helix Edit and Helix unit are connected while experiencing the following: 1. Tried dragging the files as well as clicking on Import. I get a notice that the IRs are being imported. The names of the IRs appear in the Index, but when I create an IR Block in a preset the name of the IR does not appear in the IR Select parameter field in the bottom right screen. It says Empty, even though my Helix shows the name. I can move up and down with the toggle arrows in Helix Edit and see the IRs change on the Helix, but Helix Edit screen still says Empty. 2. Now the odd thing is that in the IR Index, you can right click on the IR name and get a menu that includes Import, Copy, Clear, etc. But the only item in the menu that is not ghosted is Import. I cannot clear, copy or paste any IRs in the Index. 3. When I close Helix Edit and re-open it all the IRs I loaded are gone. Why aren't they being saved in the Index? There are no menu items in Helix Edit for saving anything other than a preset. As of 7/14/18 my Helix and Helix Edit app versions / firmware are up to date.

Hello! I purchased the Helix a week ago, after using the POD HD500 for the last 7 years. I'm having a ton of fun exploring the capabilities of the unit but seem to be struggling in one particular area. I'm experiencing some over-saturation in the low end when going for medium to high-gain lead tones, and I've explored the forums here and elsewhere to get ideas. I've already tried low cuts (typically I cut at ~120k)... and generally lowering the bass in the amp models too, to around 2 or 3. It could be me, or something in the way my Helix is generally setup. As a reference point, I'm going for a classic early Van Halen tone (I particularly enjoy his tones on the second album, and Fair Warning). Given my experience with the HD500, I'm used to tweaking the sag and bias controls, and understand that cranking them (while great for more sustain), can make the low end a bit too smooth (and loss of any crisp edge). However, I didn't have the same issue with the HD500. I could still relatively crank sag and bias (usually around 65-80%) and still retain lower string note clarity with my bridge humbucker. Now, the low end on the high gain patches become way too smooth and lose any crisp edge... it almost sounds as if I'm using a neck pickup instead (well not quite, but approaching that). High strings still cut through the mix though. I am happy to share some sound clips, if that helps. Also, I'm starting to feel that maybe others don't mind that type of tone... most of the YouTube videos that I have watched to get ideas from, they also tend to be okay with a relatively flat sounding lead guitar tone, with little bite. Jason Sadites is a great example, and I don't mean this to be a derogatory statement, as he is a fantastic player and he receives a ton of praise from many Helix owners (I also love that he has committed so much time to sharing his experiences and ideas). I've downloaded all of his patches from the CustomTone website (https://line6.com/customtone/profile/jaysadites/) and they just don't cut through the mix... neither the lows, mids or highs. I can hear that in his YouTube videos too - just kind of sounds too flat to me. Anyways, I appreciate any comments or recommendations!

Please forgive if this is a stupid question, but... I own a Spider V 120 and am thinking about upgrading to a Helix LT or even a Helix Floor (with the Powercab 112 Plus Active). I'm floundering a bit, and was wondering if I could somehow take the many tones that I've downloaded or made for my Spider V, stored in the Spider Remote App... into the Helix to get me going? (Or do I have to re-make tones for myself in the Helix, or buy them in the many advertised tone packs?)
