Hi all, interested in thoughts. Context: I'm upgrading all my gear from Firehawk FX plus 2x10" FRFR powered speakers, to Helix plus ?? Must haves: Stereo output. I like guitar sounds that fill the room and sound like there is more than guitar playing. e.g. ping pong delays More thump. The 2x10" speaker i currently use are loud as anything, but have no thump whatsoever. I am not a "deep modeller", spending hours fine tuning exact patches and models, but I do want to control everything with my feet. I don't want to ever have to press a button on an amp or whatever to change a setting mid-track. The PC112 (x2) looks like it will do the trick nicely for thump and stereo, but have no foot control via Helix for the built in speaker modes. The PC112+ (x2) looks like it does everything including foot control, but more $s. The PC212+ seems to do everything with less cables, but worried that it doesn't have the required room-filling stereo effect because it's all coming from one cabinet. Also If I go this route, should I not just get the FH1500? Thoughts on the pros and cons?

Has the below issue been resolved with the Helix? Mine keeps disconnecting via usb on multiple computers. It's not noted in the known issues section of the latest update In rare cases, Helix/HX devices can become disconnected from HX Edit. If possible, always connect your Helix/HX device directly to the USB port closest to your computer’s power connector. Never use any sort of USB hub, which may include the front USB ports on the front of towers. I did do the usual troubleshooting, factory reset, etc.

Hi everyone; I use HELIX NATIVE it on my Mac (with Logic Pro X) and it's like a year old, I installed it when i bought the Helix Floorboard. Is is it worth UPDRADING my HELIX NATIVE SOFTWARE??!! Will I lose the Preset Sounds I use/ have on my Logic Projects? Any guidance appreciated and thanks!

I have a Helix with Variax (James Tyler) guitar and I have a Mac mini with it currently attached. A Tascam US 2x2. I regularly play music or watch Youtubes with tests etc. on the Mac, but sometimes I also want to play guitar, either through my headphones or sometimes through my presonus-eris-e5-xt-active-studio monitors. Now I always have the problem that I always have to start a Tascam app because the guitar is of course mono so if I just switch from my mini to guitar, I have to switch from stereo to mono, otherwise an irritant noise. Any idea for an external music card or mixer where I can connect all this directly and (easily) jump from one to the other? p.s. at the moment I am not running Big Sur (yet) because this will probably cause problems with my Helix.

I'm interested to know if anyone else using a JTV Variax guitar into Helix experiences issues with the Helix 'forgetting' patch information when Helix updates. This has happened to me every time I've done a Helix update, and even again on the 3.10 update this week. I normally use the Variax mags as my preferred pickups, but on occasion for as our setlist requires it, I set up for a drop D or open G tuning or move standard tuning steps up and/or down. The have to be done with Variax guitar models. These patches will also sit alongside patches where I am not using tunings or Variax guitar models. I find I have to go back in to each of these patches and persuade them to remember the Variax aspect of the patch. It particularly seems to affect patches where I have altered tunings. So, I'm interested to see if this is just me, and I'm missing some little trick in my set up, or if others experience the same, and if they do, why can this not be solved as part of the software/firmware update? -
Hey all, I have the Helix as my audio interface in my home recording studio. I have a Roland FA-06, Guitar, Bass, Vox as my needed inputs. Right now I run one at time and am sick of unplugging. Would I be able to run them all through Helix at once or do I need to get something like the Presonus Quantum? (If I can run them all in, how would you do that) Also I have an Presonus ADL600, Kush Electra EQ and a DBX 162SL Comp as my external hardware? How would you incorporate those components into your single chain for recording? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hey guys I'm sure many of you have seen my video on getting great reverb sounds over on some other forums, but I totally forgot that this forum existed and figured I'd share it here as well with you all. I go in-depth on a setup I created that allows you to get some really nice complex sounding modulated reverbs that I feel are a step up from HX reverbs that were added recently. Let me know what you think, and if you want to check it out there's a patch link in the description box. The description also has time stamps to jump around in case you don't want to watch the whole thing front to end :) I just finished up another video on snapshots I'll post in a separate thread. Anyways, love my Helix and thought I'd share!

Hey everyone - Maybe a silly question, but I can't figure this out. Question: Can Helix Store the Stomp / Snapshot mode with the individual presets? If so, where do I change that from global to by-preset? My Helix is used in a worship ministry and is used by two different guitarists. One player has presets based on 8 snapshots. The other has presets based on 4 snapshots on the bottom and 4 stomps on top. Before each service, I have to change the global settings to accommodate each player. Sure would be easier if I didn't have to make that change in the global settings each time. Thanks! Brad

Hi Friends, Just got a Macbook Air and got Ableton, Helix Native and a few other apps up and ready to go in relatively short order. The only thing remaining is transferring my tone library from my old laptop to the new one. I can't seem to find a guide on this through the Line 6 Knowledge Base. Can anyone point me in the right direction and/or share a few pointers? I also have a sizable Ownhammer IR collection which are used on many of my tones. Is there a way to transfer both libraries so they stay integrated? Side note: I have the Helix LT which I bought a few years before switching to working mostly through Ableton. I did consider transferring to the LT then from there to my new Mac but figured there must be a faster/more efficient way. Not sure if it's relevant but here's the specs of my old/new devices: Macbook Pro early 2015, Catalina: Has Helix Library + OwnHammer IR's Macbook Air 2021, Big Sur: Ableton and Helix Native are installed/authorized (factory presets only) tl;dr: Looking for info/tips on how to transfer Helix Native Library + OwnHammer IR's to new Mac. I've had my Helix about 2 months now and have never used IRs. I'd like to start experimenting with them but don't know where to start and I'm not really sure if I understand what they are. I mean I think i do, but it'd be nice to learn more about them from someone who understands them fully and uses them regularly.

Hello friends, I think this is an easy question and if so I apologize, but I have been more than two months with my Helix in the technical service and with many problems with the product distributor in my area and I want to check the device in detail . In principle, I think it is finally fixed, but I have a doubt. When I press the BANK button (bank up or bank down) to access a new bank of sounds, do the presets of the new bank I arrive at have to flash until I press one of them? It may be normal, but with so much tension built up, I've completely forgotten about it. Thanks everyone for your help.

Is it normal for Poly Sustain to drop out after a snapshot change? None of the Poly Sustain parameters are linked to Snapshots for changes. Anyone else see this?

Hey guys. Not tryna rehash the same old debates, this is a simple question. Anyone in here has owned or owns an Axe Fx 3? In terms of sound, we all know we can create fantastic tones with most modern flagship modelers. The real question here is about the responsiveness of the Fractal stuff. Ive been a helix owner for a while already, and I love all the tones i can get from my rack. Regardless, I went back to buying an amp and pedals because the helix hasn't ever felt like playing thru an amp. It really is a different story. And i don't mean the sounds, i can make my Helix just as fantastic as my Marshall, but, to me, at the moment of playing, no digital modeler has ever felt as nicely responsive, full, and saturated as an amp. Is what many say true? That the Axe Fx provides that 'organic' feel when you play via it?

The Amp model displayed on my Helix LT and Helix Floor does not match what Helix Edit is showing. The Helix LT is new and was just updated to 3.01 as soon as I got it out of the box. The Helix show all the new amps. HX edit does not. And it just shows a random Amp model instead of the US Princess I have saved in my user preset. If I shut HX Edit down and come back to my user preset with the US Princess it show no amp at all. Just a empty block. Any ideas? Computer is running latest Windows 10 Pro.

EXP Squeaks when I put my foot on it to use it for the wah (or what ever). It seems to be scrubbing the side of the opening. I had not put this baby on the floor until the other day and soon as I went to use it well it squeaked and I tried to move my foot to the right and it still dose it , if I barley touch it or move it with my hand it doesn't do it but that's not how I use my regular wah wah or my other EXP, any one else have this happen? I posted in bug thread on this as well.

I am having issues with expression controls on a Helix Rack connected via MIDI to a Roland FC-300 foot controller. The Helix responds intermittently throughout the pedal movements on simple commands such as volume, single parameter values, etc. Pedal and cable are confirmed to be in perfect working order. Customer support has not provided any solutions as of yet. I also found another user with the same issues on a forum thread, tho it's been a dead thread for over a year and no solution was ever posted. Any help greatly appreciated.

This is my goal. I want to set up the bottom row of buttons to be specific tones. Example: metal/clean/classic rock/acoustic Sim. Then I would like my top row of buttons to be stomps that I can add to any given tone from the bottom row. Example: phaser/pitch shifter/boost/chorus. Is there any possibility that the helix can be set up this way? Essentially, this is the type of setup that I use on my XT LIVE.

I run my Helix plugged into my pc via USB and out to a pair of monitor speakers, I run all my pc sound through the Helix and it’s easy to run Helix Edit for experimenting with patches. Recently bought a Marshall DSL1HR and MX112 cab. Thought I’d try running the Helix into the front of that but I get horrendous white noise/static. After much swapping of cables it turns out that it’s the USB cable form the Helix to the PC that’s causing the issue, but only when I have the Helix plugged into the amp, not the monitors. Tries replacing the USB cable with one with two ferrite shields, one each end to no avail. Plugged the Helix into a USB hub which reduced the level of the noise but at the same time introduced a whine/hum type sound. If I connect the Helix to the amp (still connected to the pc) with my Xvive wireless it’s fine, no noise at all. So I could just use wireless, but then I need to remember to keep it charged and switch it off when I’m done Any ideas how to solve the noise issue when using cables? Have tried the ground lift button on the back of the Helix.

I am new to this but, I had version 2.3 on my Helix when I bought it new last Oct. I could not get the thing to do any updates until I bought a new windows 10 computer. I started updating each version from 2.3 up. I did the 2.92 update last night. There was no 3.0 update in Line 6 Updater to choose from. The only version left for me to choose was the 3.01. I started the process at 10 pm and now it's almost 10AM the next morning and the update is still circling. It says UPDATE IN PROGRESS - do not turn off or unplug your device at this time. 1. Should I just let it keep going or should I shut it down, reinstall the 2.92 version HX Edit and start over? 2. It mentions Helix Floor. Footswitches 9&10 (bottom row, middle 2 switches) between steps 9 and 10. What is this in there for? Am I supposed to hit these after it updates to do a factory update? I'm just not sure.

So I am looking to get an XY Midi pad built into my guitar and I want to know if I can use it to control any effects like the Pitch Wham. If someone has done this please share with me some videos or something to show me how it was done. Much appreciated

I recently purchased a Headrush FRFR112 to use live with my Helix LT. I want to use the FRFR112 for stage volume, and the way I used it this weekend was: XLR-out from Helix to XLR-in on the FRFR112, then XLR-out of FRFR112 to FOH. My dilemma is that once my level is set in sound check, if I need to tweak the volume on either the Helix or the FRFR112, it messes up the mix. What's the best way to route everything so that I control my own stage volume without affecting FOH? Do I route one Helix output to the FRFR112, and the other to FOH? How are all of you doing this?
