  1. Does anyone know if it is possible to bend the pitch of individual strings up or down on the Variax by use of the Helix expression pedal or using a momentary switch? Similar to another product by another company. Bending the string controlled with expression pedal as if using a finger to bend the string.
  2. So I had my Helix dialed in via snapshot banks and I have 1 bank of 8 snapshots for each song. I had my distortions and cleans and mixes per snapshots dialed in where I wanted it. Then randomly after not playing the unit for a week or two, I turned it on and ran into a terrible issue. All of my distortions were quieter and sounded terrible and my volume level per snapshot were all over the place. I cannot understand how this could happen. I backed it up and upgraded the firmware and still no fix. Again, things were dialed in and all of the sudden they weren't. They are still at the parameters I set but the volume on clean snapshots are louder than snapshots with distortion and the distortion sounds awful too. I can only think of trying to get a new unit and see if that fixes it unless someone has an idea? Thank you.
  3. Hello everyone, I own a Pod Go and have been looking for presets to purchase and tweak to my liking. I've purchased many different presets, and really like them but I've also noticed that there are not many people selling presets for the Pod Go. Usually they are recreations of one of their Helix/HX patches adapted for the Pod Go. Lately, I've been watching YouTube videos of Helix and HX Stomp users making presets and giving their tips etc. On to my question... The Pod Go Edit software does NOT have the ability to open Helix/HX Stomp preset files, only Pod Go Edit files. Being that I don't have a Helix or HX Stomp is there a way I could purchase Helix/HX presets and view the amp/cab and other pedal settings? This way I can recreate them on the Pod Go. I'm not looking for freebies, but I just need to see the numbers to recreate them on my Pod Go. Is there software that might allow me to view the preset settings of the Helix/HX Stomp files? Thanks in advance for help with an odd request!

    Helix 3.15

Dear forum, It's been six months since the release of 3.10 firmware update and the crowd is starting to show their pitchforks up on the TGP. DI had been really secretive during the last months until two weeks ago... when he started telling us about how L6 staff decided to split the new firmware in two installments because it features intellectual property that will be included in upcoming product releases for the next year. He has also stated that the EVH 5150 III is a top priority but wont't be present in 3.15 (f%#$), and there are some L6 original amp models as well as half a dozen effects are already cooked up. Are you guys ready to start the guessing game? My two cents here... Maestro Brassmaster Distortion pedal (coming a long way from POD X3, only stompbox not recreated for POD HD and HX tech) HX Room Reverb HX Plate Reverb (though the Double Tank and the Plateaux are in that ballpark minus the pitch shifting) Feedbacker (not as powerful as the Freqout but hope to be not as limited as the Boss FB-2) HX Metal Zone (standalone and Keeley Modded) Maybe some modulation (EHX Small Clone Chorus or Boss Flanger BF-2). I'd love a Boss Phaser Ph1-r but the EHX Small Stone was added in 2.90 (slim and none chance to get it). Hope not more fuzzboxes. We're gonna OD and die from them (not as in "overdrive"). The amps really is a mystery... with the 5150 III already down... maybe a Bogner XTC, a 90s solid state Randall, a Mark II C+, or a VHT... Hope that the Line 6 Albatross once hinted by DI is on its way (though the name s@cks... Line 6 Psychopath, Preposterous or Ludicrous sound better). It's supposed to be an HX version of the untimely loved/infamous POD X3 Insane mode... According to the POD X3 red booklet is something like a Dual Recto preamp feeding the Soldano poweramp... How can you metalheads say no?? I liked using it in... 2009. Blues lawyers are waiting for the Dumble ODS-100... seems the Litigator model didn't suit their thirst for a U$S 50,000 amp tone. Whaddya guys think? Don't wanna leave without saying how great the Helix has become with each firmware update. All my go-to amps and effects were added im firmware updates (Line 6 Badonk and 2204 Mod, Vintage Digital, Double Tank, Plastichorus, Pebble Phaser) so I'm really grateful. Keep up the excellent work!!!! P.s: Really looking forward to seeing what the future will bring.
  6. I have been trying to find a way to record an unprocessed signal and a processed signal from my Helix LT. Originally I tried an ABY box with a. ground lift. The clean channel seemed normal but it created a hum in the processed channel along with the processed signal. If I unplugged the second cable from the ABY box there was no hum. So then I tried skipping the ABY box and using a send as the first block in the chain. It seemed to record a perfectly clean tone in Logic Pro X. But when I tried putting any virtual amp on the unprocessed recorded track it had the same hum as the processed track running out from the Helix LT. I could understand the ABY box having noise issues but I can’t for the life of me understand why the unprocessed send would have a hum.
  7. This is about the 3.1db boost when that gets added to the mixer(?)block when you pull a block down to make a parallel path. I remember this was a discussion some time ago and that this was a new feature added in the later 2.? versions. I'm not sure I understand when it gets done (the 3.1db boost). I had a patch where on path 1 I pulled the delay down to a parallel path and the 3.1 boost was added. On the same patch, I did the same on path 2, but the 3.1 boost was not added. However on other patched, the boost was added each time. I would like to understand why this is done. The boost is causing my patches to get louder which makes them not level. This is not a big deal, but I usually set it back to 0. So I would love to hear what you guys have to say about this. Do you keep the boost or do you turn it back to 0.... Sorry, I am sure I am not using the correct terminology. The boost is at the end of the parallel path (when it merges back to the main path), not the beginning.
  8. Is there a way to see what the input impedance is? I mine set to auto, so it will get whatever the first block impedance is set to... I used to have an LA Comp as the first block, I am turning that off or deleting it in some patches and I would like to know how the impedance gets changed. I saw a list sometime ago that had the impedance for all the blocks(amps, effects, etc) and I guess I could use that if I could find it, however it seems like that would be something you could see. TIA
  9. How to control and change Helix presets to sync with lyrics/songsheets on iPad by using OnSong. My Need: I wanted my guitar and vocal effects preset on the Helix to change depending on the song currently displayed on my iPad. So, Song 1 on my iPad would have a preset attached to it and when I flipped to Song 2 on my iPad, the preset would change on my Helix automatically. My Setup: I have an iPad with the OnSong app, Helix Floor and a iRig BlueTurn bluetooth page flipper pedal I have my iPad directly connected to the Helix via USB (and usb to lightning adapter). The only thing you need to make sure of is that, in the OnSong Settings, you have MIDI enabled. On the Helix make note of the MIDI Channel your Helix is assigned to (this can be assigned to any number) and that your Helix is sending MIDI through USB in the Global Settings panel The Solution: HELIX SETUP: 1. Go to your Preset List page (push down on Preset knob) and select the preset you want to sync to OnSong 2. Take note of the MIDI info. There should be 3 groups of numbers. For my example, Semi-Charmed Life's group of numbers read CC32: 003 | PC: 045 | CC69: 000 3. CC32 is the Control Channel number. 003 is the bank or folder in that Control Channel (which is labeled 4 FD in my Preset List). 4. PC: 045 is the Program change number, or in my case, the song Preset number. 5. Basically, those numbers mean that Semi-Charmed Life is located in Control Channel 32 in Folder 3 as preset 45. 6. All of these settings are distributed through MIDI Channel 5; which was established earlier in the My Setup section. **TAKE NOTE of the above parameters as you will be referencing those in the MIDI setup in OnSong** ONSONG SETUP: 1. Go to the song you want to sync in your Onsong app. For Reference, mine is Semi-Charmed Life 2. Press and hold on the Title of the song until the MIDI panel pops up 3. Add a MIDI command by clicking on the + icon in the bottom right of the popup 4. Hit the + icon and under TYPE, select Program. Under CHANNEL, select 5. Under the PROGRAM section below, select the preset number (which is 45 in my example). In the Bank section, we will leave Bank MSB alone and just change the Bank LSB to 3 (which is the bank/folder number my preset is located in Click DONE. Set up those parameters for a couple songs and flip through your songs on your OnSong App. The corresponding Helix preset should change along with it. Once you get the hang of the settings, adding multiple songs becomes quite effortless. THAT'S IT!
  10. I recently purchased a helix floor. And I got the latest version. I plugged in my guitar and connected the 1/4 out to my audio interface. When I turn the output knob all the way up, the sound is a little tinny, and when I look at the volume meter that shows the output at the end of the helix effect patch, it only goes to about halfway up. The gt-1000 I've been using has a function to adjust the input level, does this one?
  11. Hello everyone. I would like to suggest a new feature to the developers of Helix, but I don't know where to start. Any recommendations?
  12. I just purchased a Helix Rack, arriving some time next week. My original guitar rig was a Line 6 DT25 and Pod HD500X. I still have the DT25, which has been taking up space in storage since I sold the HD 500 and bought an Orange Rocker 32 2x10 combo (stereo amp). I got the Helix as a replacement for my pedal board. But looking at pictures of the back of the unit, I am really wondering whether it isn't time to dust off the DT25. Here is my main question: is it possible to set up a stereo configuration on the Orange Rocker using a four-cable method, and then add the DT25 using the XLR cable? I am not especially technical, and of course I do not even have the Helix yet. Has anyone provided instructions on how to do this? Is it possible to change the preamps on the DT25 using the XLR cable (the way the Pod HD500 could) using the Helix? A few years ago, I heard you could not, but recently heard rumors that a Helix update now makes that possible. My ultimate goal is to set up the Orange Rocker and the DT25 to create a three speaker stereo wet/dry/wet effect. I have never done anything like this, and would describe my technical ability as slightly above beginner. Thanks for all your help in advance.
  13. I was using Helix Edit and during the Update my computer with Windows10 said it was having a problem and shut down. upon restarting the Helix says Boot Failure and cant be detected by Helix Edit and now the Helix is locked-up and wont do anything. Any solutions?

    Helix Floor or LT

Hello, After testing a Helix LT for a week, I know that this is the device I need (compared to the Boss, which I also tested). Now the question is: LT or Floor? The LT is clearly not bad but the build quality of the Floor seems to be better as well as the expression pedal. The screen strip above the footswitches also seems to be good (although I couldn't test it) and more intuitive than referring to the screen to know which snapshot corresponds to which footswitch. After that, I'm not sure I need so many effects loops and I might use the mic input (but for recording purposes)... To sum up: Floor: build quality, expression pedal and screen strip and possibilities for mic input LT : less expensive... Your opinion ?
  15. Okay so I am using my helixfloor in combination with a Mesa Boogie TC-50. It is connected in a 4 cable method with midi to switch amp channels and turn my reverb on and off and some other stuff on the amp. I have the Helix setup in snapshot mode and each snapshot send there own midi parameters to the amp. This is working absolutely amazing for me. This way I can get the most out of my amp without having to use the switch it came with. But now when I upgrade to firmware version 3.11 I get major issues on the midi part. Instant switching of the amp channels does not work anymore there is a hugh delay in midi parameters been sending out from the helix ( I am talking up to 5sec and longer). The helix sends midi signals out faster when there is no sound from the guitar going in to the helix. This is a major issue for me because I need the switching to be instant as soon as I hit the switch I need to be playing. For example when I come from my lead channel and want my clean channel I dont want a distorted amp sound. I tried everything for example after update set everything to factory settings, change midi cc's to avoid known issues in the release note, making sure instant command waiting time is setup properly set up. I tried to rebuild all my patches. But the only fix for now is running on firmware 3.10 If anyone has any ideas it would be really welcome. Because I am afraid that if this issues stays in future firmware updates I can not update anymore
  16. I need help. I have a helix and two powercab 112+. I cnt figure out how to make a preset, with dual mono and two different amps goint to one powercab each. not even when i create two independent paths in helix, can i assign one amp to one powercab. it's driving me crazy
  17. Hey all. Just got a helix and still learning it, probably for some time. Got it mainly for church with guitar and found out it has great bass tones as well. I would like to use it live but unsure if it’s capable of doing like my current rig. I’ve searched the manual and forums to no avail. My band goes ampless with in ears. I use a MB 800+ preamp with two xlr outs on it, to the mixer. One is set pre effects to FOH and post effects to in ears. I can adjust all gig long if necessary without affecting FOH. Are the xlr’s out of the helix capable of this? I see no pre/post selectors on the helix itself and find nothing in the settings to do this. Is the helix post only and if I change on the helix it also changes FOH? If so then I’ll stay with my current setup. Thanks.
  18. Hi everyone! First of all, I am from Argentina, sorry for my english. Here is my problem: I have purchased a Helix Floor the last week. Everything was going OK with the product until I tried to connect the pedal to my desktop PC (Windows 10) using the USB output with the aim of edit my presets easily (its a little bit tedious to do it manually having the possibility to do if from my PC). The problem is I am not able to do anything using my PC because as soon as I connect the USB cable, the OS says "DRIVER IS UNAVAILABLE"... that is, HELIX appears in my SETTINGS as a KEYBOARD but with that legend below (DRIVER IS UNAVAILABLE). Has anyone has the same problem in the past? As far as I know, my Helix has the last Firmware installed (3.11.0), so, thats not the problem as I read in several topics. Thanks a lot to everyone!!! GABRIEL
  19. I'm trying to update my helix floor from 2.8 to firmware 3.11. I have updated HX Edit to the latest version. HX and it notifies me that there is an update for helix. I follow the prompts and it always ends in the following error message: HX Edit Failed to download firmware update file. Please check your Internet connection and try again. Unknown Error code -2004 I'm not having any Internet connection problem including with other line 6 applications. In fact, the emergency is that I have driven a long way to get to a good Internet connection so that I wouldn't have any problem with that… But since there seems to be some problem, Is there a manual workaround if the automatic update procedure is not working for some reason? OK, so the emergency is over… I just sat here and did it a couple hundred times until it figured out how to do the download correctly. I also swapped out mechanisms like the USB cable etc. The topic is still important to me though in case I ever run into this again :-) Any answers would be greatly appreciated regarding how to manually do what HX Edit it does automatically for me, but cannot always do for some reason.
Gracias!

    10 stomp mode

Is there a way on the helix floor to make it go back to stomp mode after you change banks when you are in 10 stomp mode. The way it works now is when I am in 10 stomp mode, to change presets, I have to hit "mode" which shows the bank up and down on button 1,7... then hit bank up (or down)... and then select the preset. It then shows the snapshots (and banks) instead of going back to stomp mode. I have to click mode again to get to stomp mode.... I have to hit 4 buttons just to change presets when I am in 10 stomp mode. It works like I want when in 8 stomp mode, but not 10 stomp mode. Is there a way around this? If not, is there a way to swap the mode button 6, with the tap tuner button 12? that would help. thanks.
  22. Can someone tell me/show me how to get Billy Sheehans tone from this video or from the song "addicted to that rush." All help will be much appreciated!!!
  23. Hello All, I'm new to Helix and I've spent a little time playing with the Helix (with firmware 3.11) as a USB audio interface attached to my Mac M1 mini (running macOS Big Sur 11.4). All is well when I stick to a sample rate of 48000kHz but I would like to able to change the sample rate, so I tried to install the Line 6 Helix Driver (1.1.0.) for Mac, which says it should allow sample rates of 44.1kHz, and 96kHz. However, although the driver seems to install ok (the .kext file appears in the /LIbrary/Extensions folder), the Helix Audio device does not allow me to change the sample rate. Has anyone else encountered this problem and has found a way around it? Maybe I'm best to just record from the analog outs to my Mac via my existing interface. Thanks for any help, Dave
  24. I've got a smashed screen, I need to access the global settings, to return the device into 10 stomp box mode can this be done through the Editor, or is there a cheeky short-cut button combo? Thanks
