Hi, I am currently having an issue where the mouse cursor is offset in Helix Desktop App (only with this App). The easiest way to describe this is by putting my mouse over a certain action/window/block Windows is detecting that the mouse location is actually somewhere else. From searching it seems it's a common problem with some apps but can be easily fixed, example - https://steamcommunity.com/app/233450/discussions/0/35219681600074414/ I tried some of the suggestions found online, for example: Disabling Windows 10 scaling, changing application DPI scaling behavior, changing resolution, reinstalling, but still I have the same issue. Using Windows 10 with latest Updates and latest Helix software. Screen resolution is also 1920 x 1080, but like I've mentioned I have the issue regardless of resolution size. Can anyone help me? Any suggestions? It's currently very annoying using the software on Windows. Thanks.

Hi, I use a (Hardware-) Helix for all my recordings and especially the way of "recording dry and processing afterwards" (with Helix Native) works fine - but only for the source Guitar-In (USB-7). I recently tried to do the same with a mic-signal and expected the unprocessed signal being available on USB-8 but I have no opportunity to select the source "USB-8" in my DAW (Cubase 10 on Mac Catalina). A deeper look in the Studio Setup of Cubase reveals, that only the Inputs 1, 2 ,7 and Outputs 1,2 are marked active, the remaining ports are shown as "Inactive" (and I cannot alter the state in "Studio Setup" of Cubase). In Global Settings of Helix "Re-amp Source" points to USB-8 and is assigned to "Mic", which imho should be correct. So, any idea how to switch the "Inactive" ports to "Active"? Thanks in advance ;-)

First, I'm venting... very sorry! I have a helix lt, with a PC 212+ and a PC 112+. I was going to use the 212 for bigger gigs and the 112 for smaller gigs and practice. I have had line 6 stuff since the pod 2.0 and have loved everything. played for years with a dt25 and HD500x. The Dt25 was flakey, but sounded great when it worked. I got a helix right before covid, so I have only used it out maybe 6 times. I just got the PC's a few months ago and have used them 3 or 4 times. I play a little bit of everything, but the really heavy stuff (that scares me :)) I will go back and forth between stacking the cabs, leaning both cabs back, or just using one of the two. I play (mainly fiddle with settings) for at least 2 to 3 hours everynight... really. I heard about the HF problem, so I saved a new patch on each PC called PTB Raw. I was using the LF Raw. I play a Les Paul, tele, and a yamaha ES 2??? (hollow body electric with soapboxes).... It was sounding great. I just got back from out of town, and it sounds like the speakers are blown, (I don't think they are)..... it sound horrible. I tried all 3 guitars, tried one or both of the PC's, tried using different speaker models on the PC, going back to LF Raw.... all sound very brittle and very harsh... especially with the cabs leaned back (I know I am getting a more direct hit from the speaker then) One other thing.... I have ALWAYS used the ampeg 1x15 cab..... even going into the LF Raw. That was sounding nice and smooth last week. This is probably a different discussion, but the 1x15 cab is the only way I could smooth out the helix. I tried all the cabs, and they all sounded too brittle. Ok, so some one tell which button to press to make it sound good again :) .... as I said, I'm venting :0 thanks for getting this far!

Forgive my noobness here. I have searched high and low on YouTube and have read the manual (pg. 56) for the Helix LT. So I am reaching out for help for the very first time on here. All I want to do is track my usual XLR out signal into my DAW via inputs 1/2, while also having a dry signal recorded as well. The issue I am having is, when I select input 7, no signal is coming through. My current set up is a UAD Apollo Twin with an 8 pre Scarlett coming in via ADAT. I have my in and out in Logic set to my UAD Apollo. I can not for the life of my figure out how to set the input on a track to receive the USB 7 signal. My output of the helix is set to Multi, and my ramp source is set to USB 7. Thank you!

I’ve been thinking about getting a Shuriken and Helix LT, but given it’s been a few years since they were released I was curious if there is any product refresh coming that I should wait for. I know there are frequent software updates, but curious if any hardware updates are inbound. thanks!

Not so long ago, I began to notice that I don't like the sound of helix. The main problem is that the signal does not seem to be hot enough. It's like the volume on the guitar is slightly lowered. And everything was fine before, but I don't remember what update this problem started with. I tried different guitars (prs sc250, esp horizon with emg), tried turning on/off the PAD button, tried resetting to factory settings. Tell me what the problem may be, otherwise I have already broken my brain) I forgot to say that I play through studio monitors, but it also sounds the same when recording

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but I run my guitar into a external wah then into the helix and one of the analog outs goes into a fender twin reverb reissue, everyone knows this is a loud amp but with the helix in front I can run it a bit hotter and use the volume on helix to tame it to bedroom levels! I know better not to use cab sims with a real amp but with how clean the twin is, I find I get great representations of various amps using the pre blocks as a gain stage pedal. I know this is all obvious, but it’s like finding the toothpick in your Swiss Army knife.

My Helix is not recognized by my computer most of the time. I've installed the driver, and after doing a factory reset, turning it on and off, I can eventually get Line 6 Updated to see the Helix. However, when I try to install updates I'm getting errors (I have a help desk ticket in, too...but my experience with that has not been great in the past). So, now I have no presets and can't install the updates to the firmware, and can't connect at all to the Helix edit app. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Joe

I'm wondering if I can get some input from some of you as to how you approach recording your guitars in relation to the use of reverb straight from the Helix. I've typically followed the "rule" of recording everything dry and adding reverb later. I like to record multiple guitar parts and then I'll often pan them like I want (keeping them in mono) and then send them to a stereo effects bus that has a stereo reverb plugin from my DAW attached to it. Here's my issue, though ... I've never really found a reverb plugin that I like nearly as much as the simple "Room" reverb that comes with the Helix. In fact, I really don't like listening to those dry Helix tones without that reverb effect. It sounds so limp and lifeless without it. So what do you guys do? Do you ever record your guitar track WITH the reverb? If so, do you then leave your guitar track in stereo to preserve the stereo reverb effect? How does this affect panning, too? For example, if you have a guitar track with stereo reverb, and you pan it left or right, doesn't that effectively mangle your reverb? I'm also assuming that if you record too many guitars, each with its own reverb, it's going to muddy up the mix very quickly. I would appreciate any advice on this. I've seen videos from Jason Sadites where he seems to record WITH some minimal reverb baked in, then he seems to leave the track in stereo and pans left and right, then added another track with the same characteristics. Just not sure what the correct approach here is.

Hello all! just a quick one, my guitarist uses a pedal baby with a cab, should he use a pre-amp block without the BIAS settings, or a full amp block? I think the Pedal baby is a class-AB solid state? I might be answering my own question, but I reckon the pedal baby wants a mic level signal... the full amps are line? And the BIAS settings are emulating how much an amp pushes back on the signal... so as the PDBB is an amplifier... it already has its own behavioural characteristics? Looking for what’s correct, not a “if it sounds great it is great” #winky emoji Thanks everyone.

I have noticed that when using Helix as audio interface with Reaper that if I shut off the Helix while Reaper is still running, that the computer goes to a blue screen, and says something about a fatal error and starts gathering info to send to Microsoft. Then the computer does a complete restart. I haven't tried shutting down Reaper first but it's still odd behavior. Anyone else experience this? It's a Windows 10 computer. The only other thing that could be mixed up in this is the fact that I have two sets of speakers. One set is XLR from the Helix and the other set is computer speakers from the RCA jack on back of PC. So there are Realtek drivers for the computer speakers and Helix drivers for the Focal monitors. One other thing here that might help some users with a different issue. I noticed loud crack or pop sounds from my new Focal monitors that almost scared me out of my chair the first few times. I thought I might damage the monitors. Turns out that Realtek standard driver appears to have a power down function to save power if the speaker is not used for a period of time. This also happened on my computer monitors but less noticeable. If you don't use any audio for about 3-5 minutes power is cut and then re-ingaged when you start a video or start playiing.....So through Dell I found that there is a high definition driver from Realtek that doesn't have this problem plus he installed Max Audio Pro to manage the audio connections which may or may not help. I have also disabled power saving on USB ports as an after thought because sometimes when I walk away from the computer for longer periods and come back to Reaper and Helix, the connection is broken and HX EDit doesn't work nor does Reaper if I remember correctly. I also think that Microsoft updates can screw up the driver configuration I have now...so watch for that....if needed.

Today I bought my helix and when I opened it up the presets were listed 000, 001, 002 etc. however, after updating the soft wear, the presets are now listed 01A, 01B, 01C etc. I was wondering how I can change it back to the original listing? I find it odd why I have to group my presets in groups of four. Thanks.

Hi All, I made 2 backups prior to updating the flash firmware using HXEdit 3.11. After flashing my helix, I hled down 8-9 and asked it to do a resotre to defualts as per the instuctions. no issue. I then tried to load in my backup and it stops rebuilding on preset 267. (I waited 30 mins to see if it would go past) If I turn the unit off and then on again, it skips this and continues on until the next preset it doesn't like (523), and stops there. If i do the same thing, it skips over it and stops at (524) and so on and so forth. I made 3 backups of my settings. 1 before upgrade on 3.10, 1 after going to hxedit 3.11 and one during the update of the helix process using HXEdit 3.11 None of my backups are rebuilding. Any ideas??? My last upgrade to 3.10 restored no issue for that firmware, this one however, 3.11, refuses to rebuild.

Hi, i'm trying to control the channel switching on my Mark V via the Helix Effects instant blocks. I've figured out the function in general and the switching itself is working properly ( tip+ring for the wanted channel). The only problem i'm having is excessive humming (mind i already have two gates in my signal chain). I have seen a similar problem in this forum before, but the thread is some years old now. Does anyone know if there is a proper solution or are there just workarounds with external components? kind regards and thank you in advance olli

Okay, let me first say, I have plenty of common sense and I could easily infer a conclusion that has high probability of being accurate. Actually, I already do have an assumption that I'm pretty sure is reflective of the fact. But I dont know it to be a fact so I'm only looking for the people who know the facts, i.e. cite me a source or give me directions where I can find the information cause I've look and quite frankly, this is not my area of expertise so I dont know what is marketing BS phrasing to sell an item cause it leads people to believe 2 things are the same when in fact they are not vs statements of factual reference. So the question is, are the fx in the POD go the same exact algorithms and scrip as Helix FX or Not? Either they are or they are not. So if you have to add some bit of information, clarify or say "Yes, But..." Then for my purposes, thats a no. And actually truth be told, all I want is a yes or no. Cause if the answer is they are the same, then thats all I need to know. But if the answer is no, then I will go do the research myself. I dont mind trying to find out the information. but looking for something that possibly doesn't exist would mean a lot of wasted time if they are the same. Unfortunately, no offense to anyone here but the trolls, we all know they exists and the fact I have said I'll continue the research if I'm told no they are not the same means I I have to have a reason from you as to why you would say that just cause I dont trust anyone and I dont wanna waste my time doing research cause some guy, kid i mean, parents hate him. I dont know if they beat him, but they dont love him so he then find joy is infecting the world with negative troll energy! Sorry, everyone pays the price for that. Its like I dont during a storm thinking every bolt of lighting is the one that was suppose to kill me. But I also dont carry a metal umbrella around holding it up so that on homicidal bolt of lighting knows where the easy kill is. Let me just end by saying as heavy handed as this comment is, it is no where close to accurately being a reflection of this community. cause 99% of the people here are awesome dude who are great guitarist, or even better, new guitarists who dont care about how they sound today, they keep practicing cause they know tomorrow they will play something they are proud of. I know thats most people here. But thats all I needed, 2 sentences and 99% of the people get it. Some troll is still not gonna get the fact that I know they are out there, and I'm more than happy to embarrass you. But without this, then when I'm a lollipop in return, doesnt that just make me a troll too? But I've laid out the rules of the game, so I take no issue in treating anyone like a POS if thats how they wanna be treated. Everyone else gets respect and should someone say something profound out side of anything I considered, well, I'll let you know the day that happens. but i do say thank you to people who correct any information that I have got wrong. I could care less about winning arguments, all I want is to leave a conversation with the most accurate information we can figure out together that accurate. This is my first comment in this group, and thats why this is detailed. Cause I'll keep this so people can reference the fact I dont change my tune and should I say anything that conflicts with what I've stated today, I'd expect to be held accountable. So not that I've said what I've had to say, I wont have to say it again and lets get on with business!

On the Helix all of the stereo delays (except the ping pong) have a true stereo path. The left and right sides are fully separate signal paths. The delay time of the left side of the signal is set by the delay time knob/parameter. The delay time of the right side is set by the scale parameter as a percentage of the left delay time. When scale is at 100%, the right side delay time matches the left side. Then, as the scale parameter is reduced, the right side delay time gets shorter on a percentage basis. For instance, let's say the delay time is set at 1 second. If the scale parameter is at 75%, then the right side delay time will be 750 ms (milliseconds). If the scale is at 50%, the right side will be 500 ms, and so on. The reason this is done is because these stereo delays are often used for rhythmic effect. Having the scale parameter set the right side as a percentage of the left side allows for the delay timing between the right and left sides to stay proportional when the main delay time is changed.

Hi all, interested in thoughts. Context: I'm upgrading all my gear from Firehawk FX plus 2x10" FRFR powered speakers, to Helix plus ?? Must haves: Stereo output. I like guitar sounds that fill the room and sound like there is more than guitar playing. e.g. ping pong delays More thump. The 2x10" speaker i currently use are loud as anything, but have no thump whatsoever. I am not a "deep modeller", spending hours fine tuning exact patches and models, but I do want to control everything with my feet. I don't want to ever have to press a button on an amp or whatever to change a setting mid-track. The PC112 (x2) looks like it will do the trick nicely for thump and stereo, but have no foot control via Helix for the built in speaker modes. The PC112+ (x2) looks like it does everything including foot control, but more $s. The PC212+ seems to do everything with less cables, but worried that it doesn't have the required room-filling stereo effect because it's all coming from one cabinet. Also If I go this route, should I not just get the FH1500? Thoughts on the pros and cons?

Has the below issue been resolved with the Helix? Mine keeps disconnecting via usb on multiple computers. It's not noted in the known issues section of the latest update In rare cases, Helix/HX devices can become disconnected from HX Edit. If possible, always connect your Helix/HX device directly to the USB port closest to your computer’s power connector. Never use any sort of USB hub, which may include the front USB ports on the front of towers. I did do the usual troubleshooting, factory reset, etc.

Hi everyone; I use HELIX NATIVE it on my Mac (with Logic Pro X) and it's like a year old, I installed it when i bought the Helix Floorboard. Is is it worth UPDRADING my HELIX NATIVE SOFTWARE??!! Will I lose the Preset Sounds I use/ have on my Logic Projects? Any guidance appreciated and thanks!

I have a Helix with Variax (James Tyler) guitar and I have a Mac mini with it currently attached. A Tascam US 2x2. I regularly play music or watch Youtubes with tests etc. on the Mac, but sometimes I also want to play guitar, either through my headphones or sometimes through my presonus-eris-e5-xt-active-studio monitors. Now I always have the problem that I always have to start a Tascam app because the guitar is of course mono so if I just switch from my mini to guitar, I have to switch from stereo to mono, otherwise an irritant noise. Any idea for an external music card or mixer where I can connect all this directly and (easily) jump from one to the other? p.s. at the moment I am not running Big Sur (yet) because this will probably cause problems with my Helix.

I'm interested to know if anyone else using a JTV Variax guitar into Helix experiences issues with the Helix 'forgetting' patch information when Helix updates. This has happened to me every time I've done a Helix update, and even again on the 3.10 update this week. I normally use the Variax mags as my preferred pickups, but on occasion for as our setlist requires it, I set up for a drop D or open G tuning or move standard tuning steps up and/or down. The have to be done with Variax guitar models. These patches will also sit alongside patches where I am not using tunings or Variax guitar models. I find I have to go back in to each of these patches and persuade them to remember the Variax aspect of the patch. It particularly seems to affect patches where I have altered tunings. So, I'm interested to see if this is just me, and I'm missing some little trick in my set up, or if others experience the same, and if they do, why can this not be solved as part of the software/firmware update?

Hey all, I have the Helix as my audio interface in my home recording studio. I have a Roland FA-06, Guitar, Bass, Vox as my needed inputs. Right now I run one at time and am sick of unplugging. Would I be able to run them all through Helix at once or do I need to get something like the Presonus Quantum? (If I can run them all in, how would you do that) Also I have an Presonus ADL600, Kush Electra EQ and a DBX 162SL Comp as my external hardware? How would you incorporate those components into your single chain for recording? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
